報(bào)道稱，“重大的錯(cuò)誤”這一表述的原文是“a profound mistake”，但現(xiàn)場(chǎng)的同聲傳譯和首相官邸記錄則譯作“不正確的”或“非常令人不滿意的錯(cuò)誤”。多數(shù)媒體基于這一譯文對(duì)奧巴馬的發(fā)言進(jìn)行了報(bào)道，進(jìn)行分析時(shí)也只使用了“提醒日本”等程度的語句。幾乎沒有一家媒體對(duì)“重大的錯(cuò)誤”這一表述作出準(zhǔn)確的報(bào)道。報(bào)道認(rèn)為，“重大的錯(cuò)誤”一詞用于敵對(duì)國(guó)家尚可理解，但如此強(qiáng)硬的措辭決不應(yīng)出現(xiàn)在同盟國(guó)之間。此舉可以說是表達(dá)了美方對(duì)日本政府堅(jiān)持“沒有必要就釣魚島問題與中國(guó)對(duì)話”方針的不滿。那么日本今后應(yīng)該怎么做？不與中方對(duì)話、不采取任何行動(dòng)的應(yīng)對(duì)方式將無法獲得第三國(guó)的理解。

北京時(shí)間3月29日清晨7點(diǎn)30分，美國(guó)總統(tǒng)奧巴馬就利比亞局勢(shì)發(fā)表全國(guó)電視講話。奧巴馬在講話中為美國(guó)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)下的多國(guó)干預(yù)利比亞軍事行動(dòng)進(jìn)行辯護(hù)，稱阻止一場(chǎng)潛在的大屠殺發(fā)生符合美國(guó)的國(guó)家利益。他同時(shí)宣布，北約將于本周三正式接手利比亞軍事干預(yù)指揮權(quán)。以下是奧巴馬講話全文：
