塔院寺
塔院寺位于五臺(tái)山佛教中心區(qū)臺(tái)懷鎮(zhèn),原是大華嚴(yán)寺的塔院。明成祖永樂五年(1407年)擴(kuò)充建寺,改用今名,是五臺(tái)山五大禪林之
一、青廟十大寺之一。塔院寺座北朝南,由橫列的殿院和禪堂僧舍組成。塔院寺現(xiàn)為全國重點(diǎn)寺院。
五臺(tái)山上百座的佛教寺院中,有一塔高聳入云、蔚為壯觀,這就是五臺(tái)山的標(biāo)志性建筑,坐落于塔院寺中的——“大白塔”,寺以塔名,頗為得體,盡得風(fēng)流。
據(jù)《山西省佛教名勝》記載,五臺(tái)山佛教中心區(qū)臺(tái)懷鎮(zhèn),有一座高聳入云、潔白渾圓的巨大佛塔——大白塔,它是五臺(tái)山的象征,被贊譽(yù)為“清涼第一勝境”。塔院寺原為大華嚴(yán)寺(現(xiàn)大顯通寺)的附屬院落——“塔院”,明朝萬歷七年至十年,對(duì)寺院的殿宇進(jìn)行了改建,獨(dú)立起寺與顯通寺分開,取名為塔院寺。因寺院中有釋迦牟尼舍利塔、佛足跡圖碑和五臺(tái)山當(dāng)?shù)亟讨魑氖馄兴_發(fā)塔,被佛教信徒視為佛家圣地。
我們從南正門進(jìn)院,過天王殿便進(jìn)入殿堂院或稱塔院。與天王殿相對(duì)的這座大殿一般寺院都稱大雄寶殿,而這里卻叫做大慈延壽寶殿,這是為了和大慈延壽寶塔即大白塔相一致。內(nèi)供華嚴(yán)三圣,中間為釋迦牟尼佛,兩旁為文殊菩薩和普賢菩薩及十八羅漢。該殿是寺院僧人敬香誦經(jīng)、舉行佛事活動(dòng)的主要場所。
五臺(tái)山塔式建筑,就其建筑年代、建筑規(guī)模、建筑形式、建筑材料而言,都稱得上是中國現(xiàn)存塔建中類型較多的地區(qū)之一。在眾多的佛塔中,首數(shù)塔院寺大白塔最為著名,其它諸塔,如同眾星捧月一般,簇?fù)碇?/p>
大白塔全稱:釋迦文佛真身舍利寶塔,又叫大慈延壽寶塔。始建年代難以確考,據(jù)《清涼山志》記載,此塔在漢明帝以前就已存在。
大殿北側(cè)與大慈延壽寶塔相接。大白塔按佛家正統(tǒng)說法是佛舍利塔。佛經(jīng)記載:公元前486年,釋迦牟尼佛滅度,其佛體煉就84000顆舍利子(舍利梵文Sarira的音譯),古印度孔雀王朝阿育王用五金七寶鑄成了84000座佛舍利塔,分布于茫茫大千世界,每座塔內(nèi)藏一顆舍利子,中國有19座,五臺(tái)山獨(dú)得其一,稱之為“慈壽塔”,藏于現(xiàn)存大白塔腹內(nèi)?,F(xiàn)在這座藏式大白塔建于明代萬歷年間,由須彌座、塔身、塔剎三部分構(gòu)成,通高56.4米,其中銅質(zhì)塔剎高4.43米,塔身高50.27米,須彌座高1.7米。塔身四周,遍掛風(fēng)鈴,共有252個(gè),每遇風(fēng)來,鈴聲悠揚(yáng),與寺院內(nèi)的鐘聲、木魚聲、誦經(jīng)唱詩聲相互呼應(yīng),無疑是一曲佛國交響樂,令人神往。大塔下層四圍筑有木柵欄,欄內(nèi)可供僧眾和游人附塔繞行。在大白塔底座的一個(gè)碹洞里立有釋迎牟尼佛足碑,刻在石碑上的佛足印,長53厘米,寬20厘米,足心有千輻輪相和寶瓶魚劍圖。相傳,佛足印為釋迦牟尼涅盤之時(shí)留下,誰見到這足印并瞻禮供養(yǎng)就能消除災(zāi)難。唐僧到印度取經(jīng)時(shí),把佛足拓印下來帶回,先是唐太宗下令將佛足刻在石上立于宗廟,后來五臺(tái)山建大白塔時(shí),有人攜圖敬獻(xiàn),刻在碑上,供僧人香客頂禮膜拜。
塔基四角建有四個(gè)小亭,在小亭的襯托下,使大白塔顯得更加壯麗美觀。環(huán)繞塔基造有可避風(fēng)雨的長廊,大白塔的下層是個(gè)殿,俗稱塔殿,殿內(nèi)供奉著文殊、觀世音、普賢、地藏四菩薩和一尊釋迦佛像。大白塔下置放有喇嘛寺院祈禱、誦經(jīng)的法輪一百二十七個(gè),又名轉(zhuǎn)經(jīng)筒。其中大的有四個(gè),分布于東西南北四個(gè)方位,小的一百二十三個(gè),環(huán)繞在塔身下方。法輪呈園桶形,轉(zhuǎn)動(dòng)自如,在每個(gè)法輪上都刻有“唵嘛呢叭咪吽”六字真言,也被稱為“六字大明咒”?!洞蟪饲f嚴(yán)寶王經(jīng)》說,“若此六字大明咒,著于身、觸于手、藏于家或書于門,即能逢兇化吉,遇難呈祥。據(jù)說,來人口念六字真言,并用右手依次轉(zhuǎn)動(dòng)這一百二十個(gè)法輪一圈后,便可以消災(zāi)除難,再轉(zhuǎn)動(dòng)其中一個(gè)大的法輪九圈后,就可以功德圓滿了。
現(xiàn)在我們所看到的就是大藏經(jīng)閣。聞名遐邇的“轉(zhuǎn)輪藏”就設(shè)置在這座大殿內(nèi)。大家看,“轉(zhuǎn)輪藏”是木質(zhì)經(jīng)架,六角二十一層,高十米有余,上大下小。最下層底下設(shè)有轉(zhuǎn)盤,人力推動(dòng),運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)自如,設(shè)計(jì)別出心裁,獨(dú)具匠心。廟內(nèi)僧人稱它“法幢世界”。這里還有兩種說法:第一種取意“法輪常轉(zhuǎn),自動(dòng)不息”能把眾生一切罪孽推碾干凈。第二種,說轉(zhuǎn)藏輪上藏有無數(shù)經(jīng)書,每轉(zhuǎn)動(dòng)一次,如同又念誦了一遍經(jīng)典,能使人免去一切罪孽。
塔院東面是禪堂院,為僧人居住之地。1948年毛澤東、周恩來東渡黃河,進(jìn)軍河北路經(jīng)五臺(tái)山,曾在此院下榻,現(xiàn)在這里已經(jīng)辟為毛主席路居紀(jì)念館。
禪堂院東側(cè)是文殊發(fā)塔院,建有一座小白塔,高約7米。相傳,在某—年的大法會(huì)期間,當(dāng)齋飯的鐘聲響過,人們向塔院寺涌來,有一個(gè)衣衫破爛的女人,懷里抱著一個(gè)嬰孩,手里拎著一個(gè)小孩,身后跟著一條狗,隨人流入寺領(lǐng)齋飯,分飯僧給了她3份齋飯后,她又要求也給愛犬一份,分飯僧猶豫之后勉強(qiáng)又給了一份,這時(shí)這位女子又說:“我腹內(nèi)有子,尚須分食?!狈诛埳畼O為憤怒地說:“肚里的孩子還沒出生就要分飯食,你真是貪得無厭!”女子分辯道:“眾生平等,肚里的孩子也是有生命的。”隨后從袖子里取出一把剪子,剪下一把頭發(fā),放在案桌上,并口中念道:“苦瓜連苦根,甜瓜徹蒂甜,是吾超三界,卻被阿師嫌。”說罷躍身騰空,化為文殊菩薩圣像,嬰孩變成二天童,狗變成了綠毛神獅。分飯僧悔恨自己待人不平等,結(jié)果冒犯了菩薩,真是有眼不識(shí)圣靈,便取刀劑去自己的雙眼。后來,就在菩薩顯圣處建了這座塔,并把菩薩留下的頭發(fā)放在里頭供養(yǎng)起來,取名為文殊發(fā)塔。

also the place for holding grand buddhist activities in the temple.this is the first feature of xiantong temple –complete wood structure.[beamless hall] beamless hall is a white complete-brick architectural structure.it was built by completely laying up bricks without use of beams and hence its name “beamless hall ” ,it looks like a european –style building in appearance and was painted white.white represents pureness in the west ,while symbolizes the buddhist pure land and boundless brightness here.since this hall is mot supported by beams and columns ,the weight of hall top is borne by the thick and heavy wall bodies on four sides ,to form a sharp contrast with form of emulating wood structure ,and the brick-laid round columns and dipper –like arches and carved extending raves embody typical combined chinese and west styles.the whole large hall seems to have 7 rooms when you are looking externally ,but actually it has only 3 rooms.it looks like having two floors when you are looking outdoors but ,internally , it is a one-storeyed building ,the interior of the hall adapted the form of internal dipper –like arch ,which is reduced floor by floor to form a roof style of natural vault.this large hall was built in the thirty –seventh year of wanly period , ming dynasty and has a history of nearly 400 years till now.this is the second feature of xiantong temple-architecture of complete brick structure.in the middle of hall is worshipped lushena buddha ,the body statue of the ancestor of buddha and stands duohao buddha pagoda ,the thirteen –storeyed wood pagoda of ming dynasty, which is also the only wood pagoda in wutai mountain.beamless hall was also caked “seven-place and nine-meeting hall”, which means that sakyamuni has taught scriptures in in thousand alms –bowl hall may be rated a rare rush in the casting history.it was cast in the ninth year of wanly period ,ming dynasty through designing and financing fund s by hanshan himself ,a grand master of the age.[large bronze hall] large bronze hall is of world renown ,when you are looking externally ,you can find that it is of double eaves and lying –mountain top and divided into the upper and lower floors.on each of the four sides of upper floor are nounted 6 lattice-fans ,and on the upper and lower ends of each lattice-fan are carved and cast grass ,trees ,flowers and plants as well as birds and beasts.on each of the upper and lower parts of the four column and column base being one integrated mass and fixing the 100 thousand jin heavy bronze hall.the four sides of the upper floor of the bronze hall are surrounded by about 1m high rails.in both ends of the roof ridge of hall are cast separately two legendary animals appearing vividly to fly ,with a wind millstone and ed in the buddhist circle of wutai mountain.xiantong temple occupies a land of 43700sq.km and has 400 houses and 65 halls in total.it was initially built in the eleventh year of yongping period ,east han dynasty and has a history of nearly 2000 years to date.since the peak of posa top is very similar to the vulture peak of india(the place where sakyamuni taught scriptures of his disciples),it was named lingjiu temple after the name of the mountain later ming emperor of han dynasty added two characters “da fu”in chinese(meaning grandness and creditability)before “l(fā)ingjiu temple ”so that the complete name of temple was dafu lingjiu temple.it was rebuilt in xiaowen emperor period of north wei dynasty and divided into 12 courtyards.it was also called garden temple because of the garden in front.later ,it war rebuilt once again by taizong emperor of tang dynasty and renamed great huayan temple by wu zetian because the newly translated huayan scriptures were collected here.it finally was granted a horizontal board “l(fā)arge xiantong temple ”by zhu yuanhang,the taizu emperor of ming dynasty[bell tower]bell tower is of two –storeyed and three-eave structure ,and on the beam in the tower is hung a bronze bell,the largest one in wutai mountain.such bell was called long ringing bell and also called nether world bell and cast in july of the forty-eighth year of wanly period ,ming dynasty.with a weight of up to 9999.5jin.[dragon and tiger tablet s]there is no heaven king hall but only two pieces of stone tablets in xiantong temple ,the dragon and tiger tablets we see now.these two tablets have the implied meaning that dragon and tiger is guarding the gate and there is no need to trouble the four main heaven kings.[front courtyard ]the tablet board “rosy clouds decorated heaven city” in gold characters on the top of gate was personally written by qinanlong emperor.in the hall are worshipped 3 statues of bodhisattvas ,with guanyin bodhisattva in the middle and wenshu bodhisattva and puxian bodhisattva on both sides separately ,so it was also called “three-main-scholar hall ” it was also called scripture collection hall because scripture books are fully placed on both sides.in each of the left and right tablet pavilions outside guanyin hall is a tablet.the two tablet pavilions are completely the same in size of tablet ,shape system and pattern, one piece engraved with “tablet inscription of xiantong temple personally written by emperor “ and the other being characterless and called characterless tablet.the stone tablets of wutain mountain are roughly divided into imperial tablet.official document tablet ,merits and virtues tablet ,event record keeping tablet ,poem and writing tablet ,tomb tablet and the special buddha foot tablet and characterless tablet.among the special characterless tablets at home ,three pieces are most attractive ,i e the first is the characterless tablet left on the top of taishan mountain for guarding against the six states after qinshi emperor defeated the six states;the second is the characterless tablet set up by wu zetian at qian tomb in xi’an ,meaning that merits and demerits as well as right and wrong would be left behind to the later generations to comment and no handwriting was left;the third is the characterless tablet we see just now ,which was set up by kangxi emperor.the characterless of the tablet seemed to praise that xiantong temple was so grand and magnificent and buddhism was so broad and profound that it was difficult to express them in written language.as record in “annals of cool mountain ”,under the two pieces of stone tablets were two circular water ponds.according to legend ,after kangxi arriving at wutai mountain at that time ,as soon as he entered xiantong temple he saw at far distance that the decorated arch on posa top looks like a big dragon-head.the two wood poles look like dragon horns ,and the 108 flight steps look like dragon tongue
s ,after entering xiantong temple ,kangxi asked at one the old buddhist abbot said just coincided with what kangxi saw ,the old buddhist abbot said that ,when the sun shines on the water ponds at noon ,there would appear two light rings on both sides of the decorated arch of posa top and posa top was just a live dragon.then,kangxi gave an order to let the monks of xiantong temple fill up the two water ponds and set up two pieces of stone tablets ,with one tablet bearing written language and the other characterless.[large wenshu hall]wutai mountain is the place where wenshu bodhisattva makes buddhist rites ,and in most of the temples were build wenshu hall.while the name of this wenshu hall was prefixed with a “l(fā)arge”, and such a word “l(fā)arge” contains 4 meanings;the first is that xingtong temple is the oldest temple in wutai mountain ‘the second is that xiantong temple is the temple with largest floor area among the temple of wutai mountain ‘the third is that xiantong temple is the temple most completely preserved in wutai mountain;the fourth is that the number of wenshu bodhisattva worshipped here is most(6 statues of wenshu bodhisattvas in total),so that it is called large wenshu hall ,since wenshu in 5 directions can be worshipped at the same time ,local people call it “convenient pilgrimage platform” [daxiong precious hall] daxiong precious hall was also called large buddha hall ,it is the main building in xiantong temple and also the center of the whole temple.in the hall is worshipped the horizontal buddha of the third generation.daxiong was the honorific title of sakyamuni, saying he was “a warrior fearing nothing ” the hall was built in the architectural form with the wood structure as primary part and the upper four –a-shaped roofs and lower four extending corridors as secondary ,with 108 wood columns supporting the whole large hall and the walls having only the function of shielding off the wind and resisting the cold ,when you enter the hall ,you will feel that it is very spacious.this hall occupies a land of 1.2 mu and is the largest daxiong precious hall in xutai mountain ,it is also the place for holding grand buddhist activities in the temple.this is the first feature of xiantong temple –complete wood structure.[beamless hall] beamless hall is a white complete-brick architectural structure.it was built by completely laying up bricks without use of beams and hence its name “beamless hall ” ,it looks like a european –style building in appearance and was painted white.white represents pureness in the west ,while symbolizes the buddhist pure land and boundless brightness here.since this hall is mot supported by beams and columns ,the weight of hall top is borne by the thick and heavy wall bodies on four sides ,to form a sharp contrast with form of emulating wood structure ,and the brick-laid round columns and dipper –like arches and carved extending raves embody typical combined chinese and west styles.the whole large hall seems to have 7 rooms when you are looking externally ,but actually it has only 3 rooms.it looks like having two floors when you are looking outdoors but ,internally , it is a one-storeyed building ,the interior of the hall adapted the form of internal dipper –like arch ,which is reduced floor by floor to form a roof style of natural vault.this large hall was built in the thirty –seventh year of wanly period , ming dynasty and has a history of nearly 400 years till now.this is the second feature of xiantong temple-architecture of complete brick structure.in the middle of hall is worshipped lushena buddha ,the body statue of the ancestor of buddha and stands duohao buddha pagoda ,the thirteen –storeyed wood pagoda of ming dynasty, which is also the only wood pagoda in wutai mountain.beamless hall was also caked “seven-place and nine-
meeting hall”, which means that sakyamuni has taught scriptures in seven places for 9 times ,therefore ,it looks like having seven rooms.[thousand alms –bowl wenshu hall] the wenshu with one thousand alms bowls ,one thousand hands and one thousand sakyas worshipped in thousand alms –bowl hall may be rated a rare rush in the casting history.it was cast in the ninth year of wanly period ,ming dynasty through designing and financing fund s by hanshan himself ,a grand master of the age.[large bronze hall] large bronze hall is of world renown ,when you are looking externally ,you can find that it is of double eaves and lying –mountain top and divided into the upper and lower floors.on each of the four sides of upper floor are nounted 6 lattice-fans ,and on the upper and lower ends of each lattice-fan are carved and cast grass ,trees ,flowers and plants as well as birds and beasts.on each of the upper and lower parts of the four column and column base being one integrated mass and fixing the 100 thousand jin heavy bronze hall.the four sides of the upper floor of the bronze hall are surrounded by about 1m high rails.in both ends of the roof ridge of hall are cast separately two legendary animals appearing vividly to fly ,with a wind millstone and precious bottle in the middle ,the bronze hall looks like two floors in appearance but actually is only one room ,4.2m in row depth ,about 4.7m wide ,5m high and carved with 10 thousand statues of buddhas from inside ,therefore, somebody also called it ten-thousand –buddha hall.this hall was built by miaofeng ,the founder of a sect of buddhaism ,through begging alms of one wanly period.ming dynasty ,the saying “xiantong, xiantong, hundred-thousand-jin bronze” spread among the people originated from his behavior.since this hall was completely made of complete bronze by casting ,it embodies the third feature of xiantong temple –architecture of complete bronze structure.the first bronze pagodas and bronze halls were cast in one and the same period ,and represent the five orientations and five platform tops of wutai mountain.the middle three ones among them are ruined later while being supplementarily cast in recent years.[back high hall] behind the large bronze hall is back high hall situated in the highest position ,which was called scripture collection pavilion in the past.now ,here is worshipped sweet dew wenshu with a sweet dew bottle held in hand ,to mean that the sweet dew is sprinkled extensively.in the both flanks are eight grand expounding masters ,who were the buddhist grand master specially engaged in teaching and translating scripture texts.

我們將要參觀游覽的顯通寺,位于臺(tái)懷鎮(zhèn)寺廟群,它的前身是“大孚靈鷲寺”,最早建于東漢永平年間,距今已經(jīng)有近兩千年的歷史了。在兩千年的風(fēng)風(fēng)雨雨中,顯通寺幾經(jīng)修整重建。北魏擴(kuò)建顯通寺時(shí),設(shè)置了十二院,并設(shè)有專門的塔院,結(jié)構(gòu)比較松散,體現(xiàn)了宋元以前寺院以佛塔和鐘樓為主建筑群。布局較為隨便自然的風(fēng)格,現(xiàn)在的顯通寺,即以前十二院中的善住院,是明清時(shí)的建筑和格局。寺內(nèi)古樹參天,香煙繚繞,占地4.37萬平方米,有房屋殿宇四百多。中軸線上七座大殿,或雄偉莊嚴(yán),或精巧玲瓏,相互輝映。東西廊房對(duì)稱配合,總體色彩華麗典雅,帶有宮廷建筑的特點(diǎn),體現(xiàn)了明清時(shí)寺院布局嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)、富麗莊重的風(fēng)格,是明清時(shí)廟宇建筑的典型。

我們將要參觀的重點(diǎn)是顯通寺的鐘樓,以及中軸線上的一系列建筑。我們?cè)陲@通寺將游覽一個(gè)小時(shí),之后我們?cè)阽姌窍录小?/p>
前面這座高大的建筑就是顯通寺鐘樓,它建于明代,是顯通寺較早的一處建筑。它的下層是一個(gè)石旋洞,是通往顯通寺的要道。上層是高大的木結(jié)構(gòu)鐘樓,為兩層三檐廡廊式結(jié)構(gòu),上承十字頂,脊頂四端有四個(gè)雕刻精巧的龍頭。我們往上看,廊柱飛檐,交相輝映,十分壯觀。從上面遠(yuǎn)眺,層層山巒,簇簇寺廟,歷歷在目,使人心胸開闊,大有“欲窮千里目,更上一層樓”的感覺。
細(xì)心的游客可能已經(jīng)看到鐘樓上“震悟大千”這四個(gè)字了,“大千”即“大千世界”,是佛教用語的“三千大千世界”的簡稱,指廣闊無邊的世界?!罢鹞虼笄А钡囊馑际钦f佛法無邊,在佛祖釋迦牟尼的教化和感召下,整個(gè)大千世界都震悟覺醒了。
既然叫鐘樓,那一定離不了鐘,現(xiàn)在我們上樓去看五臺(tái)山最大的一口銅鐘。
這口鐘叫“幽冥鐘”,又叫“長命鐘”,是明萬歷四十八年鑄造的,重達(dá)萬斤,因要避諱“萬歲”的“萬”字,實(shí)際只有9999.5斤。鐘口邊緣呈波浪形,顏色呈暗褐色,敲鐘時(shí)發(fā)出深沉圓潤、深厚宏亮的聲音,順風(fēng)可傳十多里,余音達(dá)幾分鐘。
在沒有現(xiàn)代先進(jìn)技術(shù)的古代,要鑄造這樣的一口巨鐘,實(shí)在不是一件容易的事情。鑄造時(shí),采用我國歷史上鑄造技術(shù)要求最高的傳統(tǒng)工藝——無模鑄造,即“泥坑法”(引自中國旅游出版社出版的《五臺(tái)山導(dǎo)游》第17頁)。巨鐘的鑄造,充分反映了我國古代勞動(dòng)人民的高度智慧和創(chuàng)造才能。
顯通寺的銅鐘,不僅是古代鑄造技術(shù)的代表作,而且賦予了它濃厚的佛教文化色彩,它不同于我國民間講的“晨鐘暮鼓”之鐘。關(guān)于敲鐘就很有講究。
大家都知道“做一天和尚撞一天鐘”這句話,它已成為“得過且過”的代名詞。因?yàn)樵谠S多人看來,撞鐘很簡單,到時(shí)辰敲幾下就可混過一天,既不用動(dòng)腦子,又不多花力氣。這實(shí)際上是對(duì)佛門職事僧工作的誤解。撞鐘時(shí),要撞出輕重緩急的節(jié)奏,鐘聲要抑揚(yáng)頓挫,傳的遠(yuǎn)還要回蕩不息,要撞出具有五臺(tái)山特色的鐘聲和佛教樂理的神秘。早晚兩次撞鐘,要緊七下、慢八下,不緊不慢二十下,這是一通,重復(fù)三次,共撞105下,最后在撞三下,前后共108 下。撞鐘時(shí)還要念固定的佛經(jīng)。
大家都知道張繼的詩“姑蘇城外寒山寺,夜半鐘聲到客船”,詩中寒山寺鐘聲之所以著名,不僅是因?yàn)橐拱腌娐暎谟诒仨氃诙昼妰?nèi)敲完108下,而且最后一下,要敲在夜半十二點(diǎn)正,不能提前或推后一秒??梢韵胂?,如此純熟的撞鐘功夫,是“冰凍三尺非一日之寒”。據(jù)說敲完鐘的和尚都有“鐘行汗步出鐘樓,猶如卸下千斤擔(dān)”之感。由此可見撞鐘絕非易事,來不得半點(diǎn)虛假,就和我們做人一樣,要實(shí)實(shí)在在。
此外,鐘的外表刻有一部楷書佛經(jīng),共一萬多字,字跡端正清晰,可惜我們現(xiàn)在看不到這些鑄字了。大家看,這口鐘里里外外已被成千上萬的紙條遮擋住了。為什么在鐘上貼這么多紙條呢?有這樣一種說法:有威望的和尚圓寂后,要把他的名字貼在鐘上,然后把鐘敲響,與鐘長鳴,好象在通知西方極樂世界,又一位高僧往生極樂了。現(xiàn)在,人們?yōu)榱饲蟮梅鹱姹S樱舶炎约夯蛴H朋好友的名字貼在鐘上,然后把鐘敲響,不過貼名字還有個(gè)講究,為死去的人祈求平安要貼在鐘內(nèi),為活著的人祈求幸福要貼在鐘外。如果您有興趣,可千萬別貼錯(cuò)啊。好了,各位游客,參觀完這口巨鐘,讓我們一起步入古樹幽幽的顯通寺內(nèi)院游覽。
大家請(qǐng)跟我來,從這兒進(jìn)去,我們將參觀中軸上觀音殿、大文殊殿等七座大殿。在這里,我要請(qǐng)大家想一想,我們講過,寺院第一座大殿一般是天王殿,供四大天王以守護(hù)寺院,為什么顯通寺第一座大殿不是天王殿呢?聽完我的講解,您自然會(huì)明白。
明代以前,現(xiàn)在的顯通寺和前面的塔院寺原本是一座寺廟,天王殿在最前面,明成祖永樂五年(1047),分為現(xiàn)在塔院寺和顯通寺兩處廟宇,顯通寺就沒有天王殿了,但一個(gè)寺又不能沒有守護(hù)神,于是在兩側(cè)立了兩塊石碑,大家看,一邊是“龍”,一邊是“虎”,用“龍”“虎”代替四大天王守護(hù)寺院,名叫“有龍虎把門,不用四大天王勞駕”。
中軸線上第一座大殿叫觀音殿,因在最南端,所以又叫南殿。舊時(shí),寺院舉行的賑濟(jì)水陸生靈的水陸法會(huì)道場也設(shè)在這兒,故又稱水陸殿。殿內(nèi)供奉觀世音、文殊、普賢三大士,觀音居中,殿兩側(cè)是護(hù)法天神。
觀音菩薩,雖然在佛國世界中并非首腦,但她卻是中國善男信女們最崇拜的對(duì)象,因?yàn)樗蟠却蟊?,救苦救難,符合老百姓樸素的為人心理。
我們都知道,聲音要聽,景物要看,而觀音菩薩的名字卻很有意思,叫“觀世音”,即看世間聲音。其實(shí)不難理解,觀音菩薩法力高強(qiáng),六根圓通,當(dāng)然可以“觀世間聲音”,這“觀”,不是用眼,而是用智慧觀世間疾苦,以解救蕓蕓眾生。

五臺(tái)山位于山西省東北部,忻州地區(qū)五臺(tái)縣,距太原240公里,是我國著名的四大佛教名山之首,以天下第一佛教名山享譽(yù)中外,有此殊榮,一是,這里是我國最早建寺的地區(qū)之一,而且從古至今,這里的寺僧在規(guī)模上都是第一;二是,佛典有記載,這里是佛教四大菩薩之首文殊菩薩的道場;三是,歷朝歷代,凡信奉佛教的帝王,都特別關(guān)注這里,這里是我國唯一的青廟和黃廟共生榮的佛教圣地。
五臺(tái)山是我國著名的四大名山之一,也是一個(gè)融自然風(fēng)光,歷史文物,古建,藝術(shù),佛教文化為一體的旅游區(qū)?!拔灏倮锏篱L風(fēng)風(fēng)雨雨,依然日出東臺(tái)。月掛西峰,花放南山,雪霽北巔。兩千年香火斷斷續(xù)續(xù),又是晨鐘悠揚(yáng),晚罄清澈,香煙繚繞,勝幡翩躚?!睂懗隽宋迮_(tái)山的悠久歷史和奇異風(fēng)光。
今天我們要參觀的是顯通寺,在五臺(tái)山寺院當(dāng)中,顯通寺的規(guī)模最大,歷史最古和洛陽的白馬寺同為中國最早的寺廟,是五臺(tái)山佛教界最為尊崇的領(lǐng)袖寺廟。
首先,我們看到的是鐘樓,這是五臺(tái)山最大的一口銅鐘——長鳴鐘,重達(dá)9999.5斤。
顯通寺沒有天王殿,只有兩通石碑,就是我們現(xiàn)在看到的龍虎二碑,此二碑寓意為龍虎把門,不勞駕四大天王。
顯通寺,占地120畝,殿堂樓舍400多間,正院內(nèi)中軸線排列七座大殿,依次為:觀音殿,大文殊殿,大雄寶殿,無量殿,千缽文殊殿,銅殿和后高殿。
現(xiàn)在我們來到了觀音殿,殿內(nèi)供奉著三尊菩薩.中間為觀音菩薩,兩邊分別為文殊菩薩和普賢菩薩,所以又叫”三大士殿”.由于兩側(cè)擺滿了經(jīng)書,故也稱藏經(jīng)殿.參觀完了觀音殿,我們就來到了,大文殊殿,五臺(tái)山是文殊菩薩的道場,寺廟中大都建有文殊殿,而這座文殊殿卻加了個(gè)”大”字,這個(gè)大字有四層含義:顯通寺是五臺(tái)山最古老的寺院,是五臺(tái)山寺院中建筑面積最大之一,是五臺(tái)山保存最完整之一,是供奉文殊菩薩最多的文殊殿,由于在這里可以同時(shí)拜到五方文殊,當(dāng)?shù)厝朔Q其為方便朝臺(tái).好,現(xiàn)在我們?nèi)ト碌闹行?顯通寺的重要建筑,大雄寶殿,它是五臺(tái)山殿宇之最,重頂飛檐,巍峨寬大,占地一畝二分,里面供奉橫三世佛.中間為婆娑世界的釋迦牟尼,左側(cè)為東方凈琉璃世界的藥師佛,右側(cè)是西方極樂世界的阿彌陀佛;大雄寶殿即釋迦牟尼的尊稱,寓意像大勇士一樣,英勇無畏,無畏一切,殿堂采用108根木柱支撐整個(gè)大殿,進(jìn)到大殿感到十分寬敞,此殿,是五臺(tái)山最大的大雄寶
殿,也是寺里舉辦盛大佛事活動(dòng)的場所
這是顯通寺的第一大特色---------全木結(jié)構(gòu)
現(xiàn)在我們眼前的這座白色全磚建筑是無梁?量?殿,由于它全部用磚壘砌而成.沒有用梁柱,所以叫無梁殿,又因?yàn)樗淼氖欠鸱ǖ臒o量,所以我們稱之為無量殿,從外觀看,似歐洲建筑,并且涂成了白色,白色在西方代表純潔,在這里象征佛教的無限光明。整個(gè)大殿從外看是7間,實(shí)際為3間,外觀2層,內(nèi)為1層。殿內(nèi)中間供奉佛祖的抱身像盧舍納佛,體現(xiàn)修成正果而得到佛境的光明智慧。
無梁殿又叫七處九會(huì)殿,取釋迦牟尼曾在7處講經(jīng)9次之意,所以外觀7間,這座大殿建于明萬歷年間,距今有近400年的歷史了。此殿沒有梁柱支撐,殿頂?shù)闹亓坑伤闹芎裰氐膲w支撐
這是顯通寺的第二大特色---------全磚結(jié)構(gòu)
建筑穿過供奉有千缽,千手,千釋迦的千缽文殊殿,我們就來到了銅殿。此殿是我國僅有的三座銅殿之一,小巧精致,殿內(nèi)中這尊銅鑄的文殊坐獅像,造型美麗,四壁上的銅鑄小佛琳瑯滿目,有萬尊之多,故也有人稱之為萬佛殿,此殿是明萬歷年間,妙峰祖師化緣十萬斤銅所造,民間所流傳“顯通,顯通,十萬斤銅”,就是由此而來。
此殿也是顯通寺的第三大特色--------------全銅結(jié)構(gòu)建筑
現(xiàn)在是自由活動(dòng)的時(shí)間了,大家可以嘗嘗原平的鍋魁,莜面窩窩,高粱面魚魚,還有味道鮮美,營養(yǎng)價(jià)值高得臺(tái)蘑,可以看看在民間流傳了300年,具有山西黃土文化特色的剪紙,也看看形制美觀的澄泥硯。

精妙創(chuàng)法:佛教起源于公元6至5世紀(jì)的古印度的迦毗羅衛(wèi),創(chuàng)教者喬達(dá)摩悉達(dá)多大家現(xiàn)在稱他釋迦牟尼意思是他是釋迦族的圣者能仁而利人群能寂而得智慧像英勇無畏的大勇士。佛主的出生頗具傳奇色彩在藍(lán)毗尼園的菩提樹下降生,七日喪母由其母摩耶夫人的妹妹撫養(yǎng),太子天資聰慧十二歲就學(xué)會(huì)了《五明》是《四吠陀》十六歲娶表妹耶輸陀羅為妻并得子羅睺羅《他是佛主十大弟子之一修行密宗最高的弟子》,二十九歲出城拜訪遇老。死。病。修行人意識(shí)到所有人都不可逃避的痛苦決定奉行婆羅門教的修行方法以擺脫命運(yùn)枷鎖遂出家,出家后的太子過著乞食的生活拜訪圣者可難以解除他心中的疑團(tuán)決定自己尋找答案,經(jīng)過六年的苦修他沒有找到答案無奈他獨(dú)自到了菩提迦耶修禪總結(jié)過去的經(jīng)驗(yàn)調(diào)整了思維方式經(jīng)過七日苦思在東方破曉時(shí)覺悟時(shí)年三十五歲,覺悟之后在波羅奈城鹿野苑初轉(zhuǎn)法輪標(biāo)志這佛教的成立,在其一生中在七處弘法九次最后在拘尸那羅入滅終年八十歲。以上是佛主簡單的本生事跡大家可以詳細(xì)了解;其實(shí)在這一時(shí)期印度長期占統(tǒng)治地位的婆羅門教《它的基本教義是梵創(chuàng)世界、因果報(bào)應(yīng)、輪回之說,最大的特點(diǎn)是種姓制:婆羅門、剎帝利、吠舍、首陀羅》出現(xiàn)了思想界的新思潮,有人否定因果、輪回之說也有人肯定,有人提出了新思想,佛教的產(chǎn)生和其理論與當(dāng)時(shí)的社會(huì)整體環(huán)境有關(guān),許多的基本理論就是在吸收改造婆羅門教義形成的。如《因果、輪回》說。廣泛來講佛教是當(dāng)時(shí)的沙門思潮中的產(chǎn)物。
佛教之美:那么佛教的基本教義到底是什么,四圣諦《四真理》:苦、集、滅、道,現(xiàn)實(shí)世界中充滿了痛苦《佛主認(rèn)為人生有八苦,肉體遭受的四種苦:生、老、病、死,精神遭受的苦:怨憎、求不得、愛別離,對(duì)自己永恒追求而得不到產(chǎn)生的苦:五陰盛苦》,造成痛苦的原因是渴愛,有了渴愛就會(huì)有種種欲望,可現(xiàn)實(shí)是這些欲望不可能全部得到滿足因而就有了痛苦。當(dāng)你知道痛后痛徹心扉之后大家就認(rèn)識(shí)到要消除渴愛所帶來的痛苦和煩惱,消滅了渴愛所帶來的痛苦后,人就會(huì)擺脫輪回生死達(dá)到涅槃的狀態(tài),每個(gè)人和每個(gè)人思維方式不同自我調(diào)節(jié)不同但佛主總結(jié)了“八正道”:正見、正語、正命、正行、正業(yè)、正念、正思、正精進(jìn)、正定,以方便眾生找到解脫之道。而產(chǎn)生苦的來源就是五蘊(yùn)《色、受、想、行、識(shí)》這是人體及心理現(xiàn)象構(gòu)成問題的認(rèn)識(shí),就如“有的人需要的不多但想要的太多而想要的不是真正需要的”,看似簡單的一句話但是很好的詮釋了在南瞻部洲娑婆世界的眾生都在為這為那去最求即使知道自己錯(cuò)也不愿意承認(rèn)不能正確的認(rèn)識(shí)自己,然而世界上的一切事物都不會(huì)一成不變,都會(huì)經(jīng)歷從生到滅的過程具體到每件事都有其特性但每件事都會(huì)有其生成原因,在相當(dāng)?shù)囊欢螘r(shí)間或相當(dāng)?shù)囊粋€(gè)空間無大的變化,在這段時(shí)間過后就會(huì)產(chǎn)生不穩(wěn)定因素就像量到質(zhì)的過程,最后事物已經(jīng)毀滅形體不存在,就會(huì)產(chǎn)生“無?!倍盁o我”就是在告誡眾生一切事物不僅形體不會(huì)永遠(yuǎn)存在,而且精神也會(huì)隨之消滅是不有存在一個(gè)常恒的精神主體。然而世人的無知錯(cuò)把“無?!薄盁o我”的東西當(dāng)成有有常有我的東西來追求這樣就會(huì)產(chǎn)生痛苦認(rèn)為事事不如意不是安照自己想要的去發(fā)展!其實(shí)在適當(dāng)?shù)那闆r下要善于發(fā)現(xiàn)真善美丑惡本性的東西。這就是佛教的基本教義萬物都有緣起才會(huì)有《五蘊(yùn)》要正確認(rèn)識(shí)避免借助《四諦》擺脫《無常、無我》。就像佛主創(chuàng)法一樣從現(xiàn)實(shí)到理想到幻想最后還是回到了現(xiàn)實(shí)。
文殊信仰:五臺(tái)山能成為文殊信仰的中心可謂是天時(shí)地利人和,在東漢年間明帝劉莊夜夢(mèng)金人派人赴西域求法在大月氏遇到四果圣人摩騰和竺法蘭,二人帶來了佛經(jīng)與佛像,并將處理國家外交事務(wù)的鴻臚卿改為寺院取名白馬寺,二人翻譯了漢地第一部經(jīng)書《四十二章經(jīng)》,云游全國來到五臺(tái)見到五峰環(huán)抱中央有阿育王所置五金七寶佛舍利塔山形與佛主講法之地相識(shí)建議明帝修建寺廟,明帝于永平十一年[AD68}下詔依山圍塔建寺名為大孚靈鷲寺,這是中國真正意義上的第一座寺廟,即現(xiàn)在五臺(tái)山顯通寺。在佛經(jīng)《大方廣佛華嚴(yán)經(jīng)》第二十九品菩薩住處記到東北方有國名為震旦,國內(nèi)有山號(hào)為清涼,文殊師利法王子云游住處,常在此山為五百眷屬講經(jīng)說法。五臺(tái)山以歲積堅(jiān)冰,夏仍飛雪,曾無炎暑故又名清涼。中國的佛教徒以五臺(tái)山對(duì)應(yīng)佛經(jīng)中的五頂山——清涼山建起文殊道場。在《文殊師利涅槃經(jīng)》中記載到文殊菩薩是古印度舍衛(wèi)國梵得婆羅門教貴族的兒子,經(jīng)神人指點(diǎn)出家求法,皈依于釋迦文佛門下,在佛涅槃后四百五十年于大雪山為五百信徒演講十二部經(jīng)因其辯才第一故人稱大智文殊師利菩薩,后唐代宗李豫在平定完安史之亂后在五臺(tái)山修建金閣寺并將文殊菩薩欽定為首席上首菩薩。文殊在諸多佛經(jīng)中站具主導(dǎo)地位。特別是他亦佛亦菩薩的身份,七佛之師萬佛之母!特別是文殊發(fā)愿教導(dǎo)所有眾生追求佛性,并教導(dǎo)他們修行,達(dá)到無上正等正覺。所以文殊被看做是佛道中的父母,在《大成本心地觀經(jīng)》稱其三世覺母妙吉祥?!妒A覺經(jīng)》記載文殊菩薩是十地菩薩?!对斠娛庀袼聦?dǎo)游詞》
五臺(tái)山佛教開始興盛的過程,也就是《華嚴(yán)經(jīng)》傳入和文殊信仰開始發(fā)端的過程。至遲在魏孝文帝時(shí),五臺(tái)山已經(jīng)發(fā)展成了文殊道場和北朝研習(xí)《華嚴(yán)經(jīng)》的圣地。學(xué)習(xí)《華嚴(yán)經(jīng)》的人們紛紛至五臺(tái)山禮謁文殊,舉行法會(huì),著書釋論,出現(xiàn)了靈辯及其弟子道昶、靈源、曇現(xiàn)等一大批華嚴(yán)學(xué)者。此外,五臺(tái)山也出現(xiàn)了其他論師,如弘律的法聰、弘凈土的曇鸞等。
北齊是五臺(tái)山佛教的第一個(gè)興盛時(shí)期?!豆徘鍥鰝鳌份d,北齊文宣帝高洋曾“割八州之稅,以供(五臺(tái))山眾衣藥之資”,五臺(tái)山寺院發(fā)展到200余所,現(xiàn)在五臺(tái)山可考的北齊寺院還有近40所。北齊武成帝于河清三年(564)“詔慧藏法師講六十《華嚴(yán)經(jīng)》。次年,改五峰山為五臺(tái)山,使六十《華嚴(yán)經(jīng)》成為五臺(tái)山的開山圣典,使五臺(tái)山的華嚴(yán)學(xué)派得到更大發(fā)展。其時(shí),在五臺(tái)山盛傳的還有涅槃學(xué)、禪學(xué)、律學(xué)、凈土學(xué)等。之后的“周武滅法”之難,五臺(tái)山佛教遭到廢毀。
中國的四大佛地大體是在唐代確立,唐代五臺(tái)山因“文殊信仰”的繁盛,寺院多達(dá)360多處,在相對(duì)寬泛的社會(huì)下佛教出現(xiàn)了百家爭鳴的局面,名家高僧借鑒了過去經(jīng)驗(yàn)與教訓(xùn)和在東晉南北朝時(shí)期出現(xiàn)的中國人對(duì)佛教義理的獨(dú)特理解的六家七宗,大量的經(jīng)書問世特別是高僧出訪西域?qū)し?。枝末分裂的八宗《華嚴(yán)、天臺(tái)、三論、凈土、密、律、慈恩》的出現(xiàn)標(biāo)志著佛教完成了中國本土化使佛教成為中國文化的一部分,在這一時(shí)期出現(xiàn)了許都高僧比如華嚴(yán)四祖澄觀國師在五臺(tái)山顯通寺駐錫十載翻譯了《大方廣佛華嚴(yán)經(jīng)疏》八十華嚴(yán)的翻譯系統(tǒng)的闡述了佛理也吸收中華的優(yōu)良精華,特別是他寫的《經(jīng)疏》明確山西五臺(tái)即為文殊道場,《在現(xiàn)在五臺(tái)山的每座寺院中都供奉特別是顯通寺七處九會(huì)殿內(nèi)供有五百羅漢在明十三層多寶佛塔對(duì)面靈窗上就供奉華嚴(yán)澄觀國師塑像》……在這一時(shí)期唐文成 公主和尼泊爾的尺尊公主入藏,印度的原始宗教婆羅門再度興起大批佛學(xué)大師翻過 喜馬拉雅來到西藏地區(qū)與藏地崇信的苯教相互競爭融合,特別是蓮花生大師帶領(lǐng)著25弟子入藏改變了當(dāng)時(shí)的佛苯不合使得許多藏民歸信佛教,并確定了修行密宗不休禪的思想,蓮花生大師也就是藏傳佛教的創(chuàng)始人《在今五臺(tái)菩薩頂文殊殿左側(cè)的大殿就供奉著蓮花生大師》藏傳佛可以分為前、后弘期。后弘時(shí)期藏傳佛教在阿底峽、八思巴、宗喀巴等人推進(jìn)下形成了五大支派寧瑪派、噶當(dāng)派、薩迦派、噶舉派、格魯派《格魯派的**大家都耳熟能詳在帶團(tuán)中講到菩薩頂大家都會(huì)介紹到“師徒三尊”會(huì)介紹姓氏在這里更正下一世**不是賈操杰而是宗喀巴的小弟子根敦朱巴**是克珠杰》,五派自成體系,也形成了獨(dú)具特色的**轉(zhuǎn)世。這樣以一個(gè)民族命名的藏傳佛教的產(chǎn)生就形成的佛教的三大支派。
唐宋以后,文殊信仰進(jìn)一步發(fā)展。元朝建國,以五臺(tái)山文殊道場為內(nèi)地喇嘛教的總禪林。元朝皇帝將五臺(tái)山的一些漢傳寺廟改為黃教寺院下令八思巴在五臺(tái)山弘法,這樣五臺(tái)山成為了漢藏并存顯密雙修的佛教名山。五臺(tái)山文殊信仰達(dá)到高峰,上至皇帝大臣、文人學(xué)士、大德高僧,下至香客居士、善男信女、黎民百姓,文殊信仰成為最基本的信仰之一,牢固地占領(lǐng)了人們的意識(shí)形態(tài)領(lǐng)域。五臺(tái)山佛教圣地已經(jīng)深入人心,朝山拜佛,求得文殊保佑庇護(hù),成為人們希冀實(shí)現(xiàn)的宏愿。
經(jīng)過元末的常年征戰(zhàn)到了明代五臺(tái)山佛教再興高潮。出身于僧侶的明代開國皇帝朱元璋,剛一即位就實(shí)行了保護(hù)佛教,興隆佛教,尤尊漢藏佛教圣地五臺(tái)山的政策。他先后詔見了五臺(tái)山高僧璧峰、具生吉祥,分別頒賜紫衣、金缽、度牒、御制詩等,命隨方演教。明成祖派人迎請(qǐng)西藏名僧哈里嘛入京,敕封大寶法王,令統(tǒng)領(lǐng)天下釋教,遣使送五臺(tái)山顯通寺安置,又敕修佛舍利塔及顯通寺,還于寺中塑哈里麻肖像。黃教祖師宗喀巴弟子釋迦也失到五臺(tái)山巡禮弘法,入京后受到成祖盛情接待,封大國師,賜金印、寶誥、經(jīng)像、金銀器等物。釋迦也失又去五臺(tái)山之后,成祖又幾次致書慰問。英宗敕造《大藏經(jīng)》送五臺(tái)山普恩寺、五臺(tái)頂供養(yǎng),又敕諭護(hù)持顯通寺。憲宗遣人送一丈六尺鍍金文殊像一尊、畫幅百軸、香金五千兩、布帛千匹、念珠萬串于五臺(tái)山文殊寺,并制書盛贊圣地,敕修文殊寺。
武宗敕建了銅瓦殿,賜額廣宗寺,又敕梵僧于中臺(tái)頂建寺,鑄鐵為瓦,賜額演教,敕旨護(hù)持。
萬歷年間,五臺(tái)山佛教更加興盛。明神宗重修大白塔,為母祈福;敕造《大藏經(jīng)》送五臺(tái)山2藏<現(xiàn)存于顯通寺的水陸法會(huì)殿共3120本是現(xiàn)在國內(nèi)保存下來最完整的大藏經(jīng)>;遣使于五頂和獅子窩設(shè)弘福萬壽報(bào)國佑民吉祥大齋;又先后幾次送《大藏經(jīng)》6藏,于獅子窩與五臺(tái)頂安置,修建獅子窩萬佛塔及五頂寺院,并在五臺(tái)山設(shè)水陸法會(huì),供養(yǎng)全山僧眾。其母李太后出錢于五臺(tái)山修建寺院。其時(shí)五臺(tái)山寺院劇增,全山達(dá)104多座,僧侶眾多,佛事興盛。宗派以禪宗和藏傳佛教為盛,而華嚴(yán)、律宗、凈土諸宗皆有。
清朝建立以后,康雍乾嘉四帝,無論其本人信佛與否,都相續(xù)不斷地奉行著尊崇佛教政策。到康、雍、乾朝,尊崇佛教,尤尊藏傳佛教,已經(jīng)成為一項(xiàng)基本國策。而五臺(tái)山是中國佛教名山中唯一的清黃廟并存的漢藏佛教圣地,且離京城較近,于是清朝諸帝便特別重視扶持五臺(tái)山佛教。從順治皇帝起,即重視利用黃教來加強(qiáng)蒙古地區(qū)與朝廷的聯(lián)系,借以融洽民族關(guān)系。順治皇帝曾兩次派數(shù)十名喇嘛到五臺(tái)山,作護(hù)國佑民道場;命阿王老藏住持五臺(tái)山真容院,督理番漢僧眾??滴趸实蹚目滴醵辏?684)以后,先后五次朝臺(tái),遍禮臺(tái)頂,朝拜各廟,賜題碑文匾額,還親封菩薩頂大喇嘛丹巴扎薩克為清修禪師,賜提督印和斬殺劍,命山西全省按時(shí)進(jìn)貢錢糧。常住鎮(zhèn)海寺的章嘉呼圖克圖則受命統(tǒng)轄蒙古和青海的佛教事務(wù)。乾隆皇帝繼位后,效法其祖,曾六次朝臺(tái),廣題詩文匾額,屢撥巨款,重修寺院。嘉慶皇帝繼位后,也到五臺(tái)山朝拜一次。
清朝統(tǒng)治者注重鼓勵(lì)蒙藏佛教徒朝拜五臺(tái)山,融洽民族關(guān)系,五臺(tái)山喇嘛教權(quán)傾一時(shí)??滴跛氖哪辏?705),敕令五臺(tái)山菩薩頂?shù)?0寺改為喇嘛廟,實(shí)行從藏傳佛教堪布中給五臺(tái)山委任大喇嘛的制度,還讓統(tǒng)轄內(nèi)蒙、青海佛教事務(wù)的大**章嘉呼圖克圖住在鎮(zhèn)海寺。乾隆皇帝還命在白水池建寺一所,歸三世章嘉**私有,賜名永樂院。在清代,蒙藏佛教徒對(duì)五臺(tái)山非常崇拜,內(nèi)外蒙進(jìn)香者,每年四月至十月絡(luò)繹不絕,遂使五臺(tái)山的藏傳佛教達(dá)到鼎盛時(shí)期。至嘉慶時(shí),五臺(tái)山有規(guī)模宏大的黃廟26所,喇嘛千余人,其中菩薩頂一寺就有喇嘛561人。
至清末,五臺(tái)山有青廟78所,僧侶在千人以上。清代漢傳佛教宗派繼承了明末余緒,以禪宗為主,禪宗中以臨濟(jì)宗居首。
清末至中華民國初期,五臺(tái)山佛教仍保持一定的規(guī)模。據(jù)1936年統(tǒng)計(jì),五臺(tái)山有寺院130所,僧尼2200人,其中喇嘛800余人。民國年間,一些寺院僧人曾募捐擴(kuò)建了南山寺、普化寺、龍泉寺、慈福寺、尊勝寺等。特別是由于民國政府對(duì)七世章嘉**大加重用,任命為國民政府委員、國大代表和蒙旗宣化使,五臺(tái)山藏傳佛教又興盛一時(shí)。
五臺(tái)山悠久的歷史和旖旎的自然風(fēng)光獨(dú)特的地形構(gòu)造加之古代建筑和文物的保存,特別是它的魂----文殊信仰對(duì)世人對(duì)全山的影響。世界遺產(chǎn)當(dāng)之無愧!
