教學(xué)目的和要求

隨著我國改革開放的不斷深入、社會的不斷進(jìn)步和對外交際的日益擴(kuò)大，對大學(xué)英語的口語教學(xué)提出了更高的要求。而修改后的教學(xué)大綱不僅指語言是符號系統(tǒng)(a system of symbols)，而且更強(qiáng)調(diào)了語言是交際工具(a toll for communication)，是思維工具(the dress of thought)，是文化載體(a carrier of culture)。為此，大學(xué)英語最終的目的就是幫助學(xué)生打好語言基礎(chǔ)，即在重視語言形式學(xué)習(xí)的同時，熟悉英美人的思維方式，借鑒和吸收英語文化精華，提高文化素質(zhì)，培養(yǎng)英語應(yīng)用能力。而《大學(xué)英語高級口語》課程的教學(xué)則是達(dá)到上述目標(biāo)的重要環(huán)節(jié)之一。

對學(xué)生在應(yīng)用提高階段的口語的要求如下：

1.能聽懂題材熟悉，內(nèi)容廣泛，語速正常的英語講話，廣播，演講等。

2.能抓住所聽材料要點(diǎn)，領(lǐng)會講話者的觀點(diǎn)、態(tài)度，并能進(jìn)行分析、推理、判斷。

3.能用英語進(jìn)行有關(guān)專業(yè)的一般性會話。經(jīng)過準(zhǔn)備，能就與本專業(yè)相關(guān)的作簡短報告和討論。

4.能就一般性的日常生活和社會、政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、貿(mào)易技術(shù)等問題與英語國家人士進(jìn)行口頭交流。

以上均要求學(xué)生能能就各種熟悉的話題進(jìn)行口頭交際，能較自如地表達(dá)思想。講話比較流暢，語言基本得體，語音語調(diào)基本正確。

教學(xué)內(nèi)容

教學(xué)內(nèi)容包括兩部分：

第一部分進(jìn)行板塊式的口語句型操練：

1． 討論問題

2． 描寫數(shù)據(jù)

3． 比較事物

4． 解釋現(xiàn)狀

5． 情景對話

第二部分按主題進(jìn)行實(shí)踐訓(xùn)練：

1． 日常生活：家庭婚姻、婦女與兒童、老人與家庭、代溝、體育運(yùn)動、旅游愛好等

2． 社會生活：就業(yè)與失業(yè)、男女平等、公共關(guān)系、人口控制、環(huán)境保護(hù)、住房改革等

3． 政治經(jīng)濟(jì)：工農(nóng)業(yè)發(fā)展、外貿(mào)、醫(yī)療、廣告、大眾媒介等

4． 教育文化：教育、高科技、信息革命等

課時安排

每周2學(xué)時，共32學(xué)時。

教學(xué)原則和方法

1.實(shí)踐練習(xí)為主，講授為輔。

2.要求學(xué)生廣泛涉獵政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、外貿(mào)、教育等方面的知識，搜集信息，并進(jìn)行實(shí)踐。

3.培養(yǎng)學(xué)生思考問題、分析問題的能力。

4.課堂方法包括：情景會話，看圖說話，口頭作文，即興演講，現(xiàn)場討論，辯論等?？己朔绞?/p>

1.隨堂測試：

A.就所學(xué)內(nèi)容提出若干論點(diǎn)，學(xué)生作3-4分鐘的發(fā)言，陳述自己的觀點(diǎn)，并進(jìn)

行辯解。

B.老師或旁聽學(xué)生針對發(fā)言內(nèi)容提出反對論點(diǎn)，由被考學(xué)生提出辯解。

2.期末考試：每人10-15分鐘時間。

A.老師就所學(xué)內(nèi)容出題，學(xué)生以抽簽的方式?jīng)Q定所考內(nèi)容。作三分鐘的準(zhǔn)備。

B.就考生發(fā)言提出相反論點(diǎn)，考生自我辯解。

C.老師就學(xué)生的平時成績綜合考試分，確定學(xué)期口語成績。

平時表現(xiàn)占期評成績的30%，期末考試占期評成績的70%。

A:I think it is generally more structured,formal, impersonal,and wordy.B:yes,it is complex ,formal,objective,explicit,and responsible.it has many differences between the academic writing and ordinary english.the context of ordinary english is dependent,such as “Jack, here’s a politician coming out now.”on the contary, the one of academic writing is independent,for example，as the text is removed from the situation, all the information has to be supplied.A:what’s more,we often use personal,informal,colloquial language in the ordinary english while formal language in the academic writing,for instance,we often say “I got it”in the diary life,however, we use understand instead of these phrase in the academic writing.besides,the language of ordinary english is active while the academic writing passive.for example,when they arrested her,but in academic writing,we do not write like this,we should write like that:when she was arrested.apart from that,in the academic writing ,we usually use long noun phrases,such as student rebelion against the government’s policy to increase student fees has its origins in the austrialia’s social wefare history.B:yeah,so great ,what you said were comprehensive.and we should need more practise to improve academic writing.A:indeed,we must try our best to study it if we want to write a perfect paper.
