商務(wù)英語介紹（上）

“商務(wù)英語”的概念從提出到今天，起始時間已經(jīng)不短了，但在國際化大趨勢下，英語學(xué)習(xí)市場風(fēng)起云涌的今天，很多培訓(xùn)機構(gòu)又把商務(wù)英語作為了其主要的培訓(xùn)項目。究竟什么是商務(wù)英語？它又適合什么人讀呢？我們僅僅從我們的角度來進行一些闡述，供大家參考。

從目前英語培訓(xùn)的目的來看，既有考試培訓(xùn)，又有能力培訓(xùn)，商務(wù)英語界乎兩者之間。

在中國的市場更加深入地融入到國際經(jīng)濟社會之中時，國內(nèi)人才市場由于大批外資公司的登陸，對商務(wù)英語的人才的需求也愈來愈大。不過我們再次要說明商務(wù)英語并不是萬能的，也不是獨立存在的，許多外企需要員工具有更加專業(yè)性的英語能力－－“職業(yè)英語”，比如ETS的TOEIC和TOPE，也有人把TOEIC統(tǒng)稱為商務(wù)英語，其實二者是有區(qū)別的，他們的含義與作用都不同。對于職業(yè)英語而言，學(xué)員參加某一項測試并得到一定的分?jǐn)?shù)來證明其對英語語言的應(yīng)用能力。學(xué)生需要和得到的是一個分?jǐn)?shù)，證明其有能力承擔(dān)相關(guān)的工作。而事實上，比如托福，得到高分的考生并不證明其擁有了相對應(yīng)的能力。而商務(wù)英語，作為一種特定的教程，強調(diào)的不僅僅是語言的水平，而是一種實際綜合素質(zhì)的提高。B E C會幫助學(xué)員學(xué)會如何利用英語語言達到更高的職業(yè)目標(biāo)。例如西方的管理理念、工作心理、如何與外國人打交道等等，實際的在工作中給學(xué)員以幫助。

我們不得不承認(rèn)商務(wù)英語只是職業(yè)英語的一種。職業(yè)英語可以說是具有很強專業(yè)性的行業(yè)英語，比如旅游英語、法律英語、醫(yī)用英語。但他們共同點在于都有英語的基本語言基礎(chǔ)。商務(wù)英語的特點主要在于其教學(xué)的專業(yè)化、口語化和較強的針對性。歸根到底，實用性是商務(wù)英語最大的特點。這是其他英語培訓(xùn)課程中沒有的。相應(yīng)的，對于開設(shè)相應(yīng)課程的培訓(xùn)機構(gòu)有著相當(dāng)高的要求。

【商務(wù)英語初級適合】：高中英語水平；想通過BEC初級考試的學(xué)員；想進入外企或跨國公司的學(xué)員；國際商務(wù)、商業(yè)領(lǐng)域工作，需要運用英語的管理人員、銷售人員、技術(shù)人員。

【商務(wù)英語中級適合】：大學(xué)英語四級左右水平，詞匯量掌握在4000左右的學(xué)員；想通過BEC中級考試的學(xué)員；另外兩個同上。

R&D 研究發(fā)展（部門）

這是“research（研究）and development（發(fā)展）”的簡寫，是公司企業(yè)中專門負責(zé)開發(fā)新產(chǎn)品的部門，有時亦可指此類計劃。

We need to increase funding to our R&D department if we are going to compete with other innovative companies.假如我們要和其它有創(chuàng)意的公司競爭，就要增加對研發(fā)部門的投資。

gear toward 專門朝向某事發(fā)展

“gear”本是‘加裝上馬達，開始運作’的意思。這個詞組是說專門為某事或某特定對象而設(shè)計發(fā)展；跟在“toward”之后的名詞詞組，即為發(fā)展的方向或所針對的對象。

Our textbooks are geared toward the business students.我們的教科書是專為商科學(xué)生設(shè)計的。

home base 主要市場、總部

在商業(yè)術(shù)語中，這個詞組可指某企業(yè)的‘總公司’，或指一項商品大量銷售的‘主要市場’?！癰ase”,基地。

介紹公司的成長重點，是要把數(shù)據(jù)和事實一并提出給客戶知道；并注意讓對方明了，這些事實與目前的成功息息相關(guān)。
