“火雞”用英語怎么說呢?不叫做“Hot chicken”哦，而是叫做“Turkey”。

1620年，英國一批主張改革的清教徒，因理想和抱負(fù)不能實(shí)現(xiàn)而退出國教，自立新教，此舉激起了英國當(dāng)政者的仇恨。他們不得不乘船遠(yuǎn)渡重洋，流亡美國。

船在大海中漂泊了65天，終于到達(dá)了美國東海岸，在羅得島州的普羅維斯敦港登陸。當(dāng)時(shí)，此處還是一片荒涼未開墾的處女地，火雞和其他野生動物隨處可見。時(shí)值寒冬，來到陌生的地方，缺衣少食，惡劣的環(huán)境正在威脅著他們的生命。

在這生死攸關(guān)的時(shí)刻，當(dāng)?shù)氐挠〉诎踩藶樗麄兯腿チ耸澄?、生活用品和生產(chǎn)工具，幫助他們建立了新家園。為感謝在危難之時(shí)幫助、支援過他們的印第安人，同時(shí)也感謝上帝對他們的“恩賜”，他們將獵獲的火雞制成美味佳肴，盛情款待印第安人。感恩節(jié)吃火雞的習(xí)俗便流傳下來了。

今天是美國的感恩節(jié)，可是，對火雞來說，今天是——清明節(jié)!美國一個(gè)火雞農(nóng)場上周與這周的區(qū)別。

不過，也有比較幸運(yùn)的火雞得到了總統(tǒng)的赦免。奧巴馬昨天和他的兩個(gè)女兒一起赦免了一只名叫“爆米花”的火雞。美國總統(tǒng)從肯尼迪開始都會在感恩節(jié)前1天特赦兩只火雞，并從中票選一只成為“年度感恩節(jié)火雞”。但是，奧巴馬被美國媒體稱為“烏鴉手”，因?yàn)樽运先我詠砩饷獾?只火雞，竟只有1只順利地活到來年感恩節(jié)，其他7只全都在得到他特赦后迅速“歸天”!甚至有保護(hù)動物組織這一年發(fā)起“別再赦免火雞”活動。為這一年這只幸運(yùn)但也可能不行的火雞祈福吧~~
