今晚，我們相聚在中國，相聚在美麗的深圳灣。此時(shí)此刻，請?jiān)试S我表達(dá)深圳市民的共同心聲--深圳歡迎來自世界各地的朋友們！
Tonight we gather at beautiful Shenzhen Bay, China.On this joyful occasion please allow me, on behalf of all the citizens of the City of Shenzhen, to extend our heartfelt welcome to friends coming from afar around the world.深圳作為一座年輕的城市，也許會(huì)讓青年朋友感到陌生。而正是這座青春城市對青春盛會(huì)的邀約，讓國際大學(xué)生體育聯(lián)合會(huì)在四年多前選擇了深圳。這是一份前所未有的信任與期待。2009年7月13日，當(dāng)我在貝爾格萊德，從國際大體聯(lián)主席喬治·基里安先生手上接過會(huì)旗，我們就開始用倒計(jì)時(shí)的方式為履行申辦承諾而不懈努力。
Shenzhen, a young city in China, may be unfamiliar to some of our young friends.However, it is this young city's cordial invitation to a festive party of the young from around the world that drew the eye of the International University Sports Federation(FISU)four years ago for the host city of the 26th Summer Universiade.This decision is a trust and expectation that this young city has never received before.From the moment I took over the FISU Flag from President George E Killian in Belgrade on July 13, 2009, we began the countdown to honour our commitments with persistent efforts as the host of the 26th Summer Universiade.年輕的深圳舉辦大運(yùn)會(huì)，給了我們一個(gè)寶貴的機(jī)會(huì)，能夠在籌辦過程中充分展示創(chuàng)新和創(chuàng)意，履行承諾、共襄盛會(huì)。在中國中央政府的卓越領(lǐng)導(dǎo)下，為實(shí)現(xiàn)“從這里開始，不一樣的精彩”的辦會(huì)理念，我們精心修建比賽場館，訓(xùn)練運(yùn)作團(tuán)隊(duì)，尋求科技支持，創(chuàng)造安全條件，也不斷使這座城市的功能與形象得到提升。
Hosting the 26th Summer Universiade gives the young city of Shenzhen an unparalleled opportunity to make a concerted effort to prepare a joyous sports event through creativity and dedication.This ceremony provides Shenzhen a brilliant chance to show its creativity.Under the effective leadership of the Chinese Central Government, and in the spirit of “Start Here” and 'Make a Difference', we have built new stadiums and gymnasiums and trained technical and management teams through maintaining high safety standards and in a scientific way.As a result, both the image and facilities of the City of Shenzhen have been enormously improved.各位青年朋友，深圳這座在中國改革開放中誕生的城市，過去三十多年里一直在燃燒著青春激情，追逐著青春夢想。今晚，大運(yùn)會(huì)的主火炬將在這里熊熊點(diǎn)燃，也預(yù)示著深圳將繼續(xù)燃燒激情、奮發(fā)有為，創(chuàng)造一個(gè)更加美好的未來!

Your Excellency George E.Killian, President of the International University Sports Federation, Distinguished Heads of State and Government, Distinguished Members of the Executive Committee of the International University Sports Federation, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Friends, Tonight, the grand opening of the 26th Summer Universiade will be held here in Shenzhen.I wish to extend, on behalf of the Chinese government and people, a very warm welcome to all the distinguished guests.Since its birth in 1959, guided by the principle of developing university sports and promoting unity and cooperation across the world, the Universiade has offered university athletes around the world a platform to compete with each other and showcase their sportsmanship.It has served as a bridge that brings young people in the world together to deepen their mutual understanding and friendship, thus giving a strong boost to the cause of international youth sports.Over the past 50 years and more, university athletes all over the world have been actively engaged in sports competition to bring out their best and displayed youthful vigor.University students from different countries, ethnic groups and religious backgrounds have forged a bond of friendship through exchanges and ineractions at the Universiade.Here, diverse cultures mingle, the seed of friendship is sown and the spirit of cooperation is fostered.This is where the appeal of the Universiade lies, and this is what the Universiade is all about.Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Friends, As the youngest metropolitan city in China, Shenzhen is full of vitality.It is an important window through which you can learn about contemporary China.I am convinced that thanks to the good preparations made by the government and people of Shenzhen over the past several years and with the active participation and joint efforts of the International University Sports Federation and the delegations of various countries and regions, this Summer Universiade will go down in the history of the Universiade as a unique and high-standard sporting event.Now I wish to propose a toast, To the success of the 26th Summer Universiade, To unity and friendship among the people of the world, and To the health of all the distinguished guests and your families.Cheers!

Shenzhen, 12 August 2011 Your Excellency George E.Killian, President of the International University Sports Federation, Distinguished Heads of State and Government, Distinguished Members of the Executive Committee of the International University Sports Federation, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Friends, Tonight, the grand opening of the 26th Summer Universiade will be held here in Shenzhen.I wish to extend, on behalf of the Chinese government and people, a very warm welcome to all the distinguished guests.Since its birth in 1959, guided by the principle of developing university sports and promoting unity and cooperation across the world, the Universiade has offered university athletes around the world a platform to compete with each other and showcase their sportsmanship.It has served as a bridge that brings young people in the world together to deepen their mutual understanding and friendship, thus giving a strong boost to the cause of international youth sports.Over the past 50 years and more, university athletes all over the world have been actively engaged in sports competition to bring out their best and displayed youthful vigor.University students from different countries, ethnic groups and religious backgrounds have forged a bond of friendship through exchanges and ineractions at the Universiade.Here, diverse cultures mingle, the seed of friendship is sown and the spirit of cooperation is fostered.This is where the appeal of the Universiade lies, and this is what the Universiade is all about.As the youngest metropolitan city in China, Shenzhen is full of vitality.It is an important window through which you can learn about contemporary China.I am convinced that thanks to the good preparations made by the government and people of Shenzhen over the past several years and with the active participation and joint efforts of the International University Sports Federation and the delegations of various countries and regions, this Summer Universiade will go down in the history of the Universiade as a unique and high-standard sporting event.Now I wish to propose a toast, To the success of the 26th Summer Universiade, To unity and friendship among the people of the world, and To the health of all the distinguished guests and your families.Cheers!
