our future: a battle between dreams and reality good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen: when i was in the primary school, i have a dream.i want to invent a device which could bring you from one place to another in no time at all.when i was in the secondary school, my dream was to study in my ideal university.and when eventually i got into the university, my dream was to graduate.ladies and gentlemen, the reality is not real.it is a barrier keeping us from all the possible fantasies.flying, for example, had been a dream to mankind for thousands of years.a hundred years ago, man could not fly was still regarded as the reality.now if that was really the reality, what did the wright brothers do? how did some of you get to macau? only when we believe that the reality is not real can we soar with our dreams.people say that our future is a battle between the reality and our dreams.and if, unfortunately, mr.reality wins this war, then i see no future of mankind at all.aids will never be curable as this is the reality;people living in the undeveloped countries will suffer from starvation forever as this is the reality;4)disputes among different countries would never be settled as this misunderstandings and intolerance is the reality.主持人:thank you.曹豐:thank you.問題:now in the age of the internet, reading books does not seem as important as it once was.do you think people can learn as much on the internet as they can by reading books?which method do you prefer? 問題:contestant no.13.thank you very much for encouraging us to be unrealistic dreamers(thank you)and not surrender to mr.reality.(hehe..)with the traffic jam getting worse--especially in big cities--im actually very interested in your childhood dream:to invent a device that can move people around easily.is this still your dream?if not,why do you give it up?is it because it is considered unrealistic?thank you.回答:thank you very much.this is not my dream now.not because it is(not), realistic.maybe you can say its unrealistic.but if i,my interest is still inventing this device,i will keep on trying my best to invent this decive.my changing of my dreams is because of the fact that i realized my interest does not lie in science.now i am a law school student.but last semester,as ive just mentioned,i was working on my physics essay paper and actually last semester i was a student in the school of aerospace.oh my god, aerospace!and ive changed my major to law school.and so 問題:thank you very much for your speeches.talding about internet,i just want to know your view.do you believe everything is ture on the internet?if not,why not? 回答:thank you very much.i dont believe everything is true in the internet.this is a straight forward answer.and if not,why not?because i dont believe them.and i have an experience of meeting someone on the internet who claims to be a girl.yes and,a very sad, sorry story for me.but yes,for this reason,i think i dont believe that everything on the internet is true.but i will try my best to discover if that was true or not,or that was falsified or not.thank you very much.問題:contestant no.13.thank you very much for your speeches.you were talking about dreams being realistic or unrealistic and your current dream is to graduate from law school.but what is your realistic or unrealistic dream after that?what do you want to use your graduation in law for? 回答:thank you very much.actually,my dream,as mentioned in the last part of my speech,is to share my feelings, share my dreams with the globe.and when all the people in this earth have my dream, they will work hard for the social betterment,i believe in that.so after ive graduated from law school,i think i will try my best to persuade the others to,to accept my dream, and that is exactly why i am here.i am here trying to persuade you all,i think you all, after listening to my speech, hopefully, you can try to understand my dream and that we are all a member of the global village, and we have to try our best to work hard for the social betterment of all.this is why i want to be,saying, speaking something here, and that is my goal--or realistic or unrealistic dream after ive graduated.i think i will try my best to du what ive said before.thank you very much.篇二:全國大學(xué)生英語英語演講比賽第一名_顧秋蓓_演講稿(絕對精彩)good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.today i would like to begin with a story.there was once a physical therapist who traveled all the way from america to africa to do a census about mountain gorillas.these gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world;this put them severely under threat of poaching and being put into the zoo.she went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures.she witnessed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged weve ever been, where in the very depth of the african rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas cuddled their babies.yes, thats a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called gorillas in the mist, based on a true story of mrs.dian fossey, who spent most of bet lifetime in rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.to me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a timeless reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our ecoenvironment.today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems.on the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great all these appalling(令人震驚的)facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been eroding(侵蝕)our resources.encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the united nations has made 2002 the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the worlds attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment.now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations--big notes, small notes or even coins--from housewives, plumbers(水管工人), ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and 1invalids(殘疾人), some of them can not afford to send the money but they do.these are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood.why? because they care.because they still want their mother nature back.because they know it still belongs to them.the other night, as l saw the moon linger over the land and before it was sent into the invisible, my mind was filled with songs.i found myself humming softly, not to the music, but to some-thing else, someplace else.a place remembered, a place untouched, a field of grass where no one seem to have been except the deer.and no matter who we are, what we do and where we go, in our mind, theres always a scene to remember, a scene worth our effort to protect it and fight for it.thank you very much. ?1月前)2.cctv(11月初賽)

we are the world,we are the future someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”.i don’t know who wrote these words, but i’ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be.we are all in the position of the farmers.if we plant a good seed, we reap a good harvest.if we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.we are young.“how to spend the youth?” it is a meaningful question.to answer it, first i have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” youth is not a time of life, it’s a state of mind.it’s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees.it’s the matter of the will.it’s the freshness of the deep spring of life.a poet said “to see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour.several days ago, i had a chance to listen to a lecture.i learnt a lot there.i’d like to share it with all of you.let’s show our right palms.we can see three lines that show how our love, career and life is.i have a short line of life.what about yours? i wondered whether we could see our future in this way.well, let’s make a fist.where is our future? where is our love, career, and life? tell me.yeah, it is in our hands.it is held in ourselves.we all want the future to be better than the past.but the future can go better itself.don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened.from the past, we’ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher.we’ve learnt that we can’t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it.failure doesn’t mean you don’t have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way.failure doesn’t mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder.as what i said at the beginning, “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”.the past has gone.nothing we do will change it.but the future is in front of us.believe that what we give to the world, the world will give to us.and from today on, let’s be the owners of ourselves, and speak out “we are the world, we are the future.”

crossing the sea good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.the title of my speech today is crossing the sea.an english poet by the name of rudyard kipling once wrote in his poem we and they: all the people like us are we and everyone else is they we live over the sea while they live over the way we eat pork and beef with cowhorn-handled knives they who gobble their rice off a leaf are horrified out of their lives.when these lines first caught my eyes, i was shocked-how could two peoples remain so isolated and ignorant of each other in the past? todays society, of course, is an entirely different picture.those people who used to eat with cowhorn-handled knives might be very skillful in using chopsticks, and those people who used to gobble their rice might be as well have taken to fish and chips.indeed, just take china as an example: our modern life has been influenced by western style of living in so many ways that its no longer surprising to see teenagers going crazy about rock-and-roll, whole families dining out at mcdonalds and even rather elderly people dressed in apple jeans.however, these are only some expressions of the cultural changes taking place in our society today.what is really going on is a subtle but significant restructuring of the nations mentality.just look around.it is therefore evident that we as descendants of an ancient eastern civilization are already living under strong inf1uence of the western culture.but it is not only in china that we find the incorporation of the two cultures.take the chinese acupuncture as another example: this traditional treatment of diseases is finally finding its way to the west and hence the underlying notion that illness is resulted from the imbalance between yin and yang within the body--an idea which would strike any westerner as incredible in the past!smaller and smaller.therefore, it is our sacred responsibility to promote the cultural exchanges and hence the mutual understanding between china and the rest of the world.it is my happiest dream that the new generation of chinese will not only grow up drinking coca-cola and watching hollywood, but also be blessed with the far-reaching benefits of multiple cultures;benefits that our forefathers had never, ever dreamed of.to end my speech, i would like to quote rudyard kipling again: all the people like us are we and everyone else is they but once you cross over the sea you will end by looking on we as only a sort of they thank you.

My college life
I have been in college for about one year.During my stay here,I come to realize college life is like a white paper.I draw a lot of color in the paper.I experience all tastes of life, sour, sweet, bitter and hot.I am from countryside which is far away from here.Sometimes, I miss my parents. But I can't often see my parents.Lucky for me, I made many friends there. They often help me and care about me.without their help, I would not be here today. Thanks for my friends here.My college life is rich and colorful. In my free time, I can do many more things besides study, Such as joining club and taking part-time job.It not only made my life more colorful, but also helps me improve my skills.Sometimes, I play table tennis with my friends. It is exciting and relaxing. The college is like a society.I learn many things in college.Let me learn how to better communicate with people...A college experience is part of growing up.I cry, smile, fall in love and get hurt.It makes me become a better person.I love my college life!

Today I’m going to talk about discover yourself.Ever since the accelerated development of human civilization, perpetual scientific discovery of nature have companied mankind all along the journey. It was by discovering the around us that human beings have been able to live a more sophisticated life. However, as G.K.Chesterton once said “one may understand the cosmos, but never the ego, the self is more distance than any star. Thus, a life is a journey of unrelenting offers to discover more of ourselves. When I was six, I constantly picture myself as an elegant and skilled pianist rendering Xiao Bang’s nocturnal beautifully on the stage, receiving award and applause after my performance. However, as I further my piano lessons, it was hard to be oblivious of my non-gifted skills.Sometimes I couldn’t help but have this feeling of despair, when I woke up to the reality and discover that my goal was unrealistic.Brutal but real.It was the first time;I had discovered that I couldn’t have it at all, when I was twelve.I thought the coolest job in the entire universe was to be a surgeon.I spent hours and hours watching the drama Grey's Anatomy and couldn’t help falling in love with the kind of live those doctor lead on the scream.I was utterly mesmerized by the scalpel and all those fancy medical terms that use. However, I stop to dream about being a surgeon when I discover that it was the idea of being a surgeon that appeal to me, not what it truly was.As a result, the dream ended and I discovered some more about myself. This year, I turned sixteen and I could proudly say I do not dream to be, but ascertain to peruse being a lower in the future.Since junior high school I had always been awarded the most eloquent debater in every single debater participated in.I can not only think logically, but also deliver my thought promptly. My huge interest in philosophy also acts my reason in whenever I tried to argue with something equivocal.Being aware of the obstacles and the hardships on the way becoming a great lawyer never panics me, for the simple reason that I have this faith and passion in what I am aspiring after.G.K.Chesterton was absolutely correct;the most complicated part of comprehending the world is the study of somehow smaller world, ourselves.I subsequently realized that growing up is a process that discover yourselves. We got to know what we truly are and become who we dream to be.As we shape ourselves and as we shape of our lives. We gradually become more aware of limits and potentials, and consequently learn to adjust learn what’s out there, and by that ladies and gentlemen I’m proud to say that I have discovered part of myself, sue to discovering today and definitely a lot more in the future.I would always keep this in embedded in my heart.Things do not change, we do!
Good morning, judges, teachers and follow students.Today I would like to share with you my great wish.but first, please allow[?'lau] me to take you back in time to the year 1955, the setting, Montgomery [ m?ntg?m?ri ], Alabama [ ?l?b?m? ], the United States of America. It started out as an ordinary ['?:din?ri,-neri-] December afternoon.42 year-old African American Rosa Parks boarded ['b?:did] a bus and sat down in the front row.She thought over, the days and friends, her child at home, and how she enjoyed her simple life. She was content, but when she thought about the prejudice['pred?udis] and discrimination[dis, krimi'nei??n] that she had to face everyday, she felt a mends pain. How she wished to live in the world of true harmony ['hɑ:m?ni]!“Ehen, ehen(咳嗽聲)”, Rosa was startle ['stɑ:tl] to see a white man standing beside her.He was starring at her coldly ['k?uldli], but she managed ['m?nid?d] to smile and ask politely [p?'laitli]: “May I help you sir?” “Get out of the seat!” the man snarled [sna:rld] back.“Excuse me?” Rosa was shocked.[??kt] What right did the man have to speak to her in such a cruel ['kru:?l]tone? Just because her skin was dark colored and his was fair. And as equals: ['ikw?l], he certainly ['s?:t?nli] didn't have any right to order her out of the seat, or did he? Well, surprisingly, in 1955, lots like Rosa Parks did not have as many rights as whites.Due to racial['rei??l] discrimination, Rosa’s refusal [ri'fju:z?l] to give up her seat to a white man, led to a call to the police, and she was arrested [?'rest] jailed and convicted[k?n'vikt] a violating ['vai?leit] segregation[,segri'gei??n] laws. But Rosa did not surrender[s?'rend?] to prejudice, instead[in'sted] she chose to fight discrimination and work alongside thousands of others for her wish to rid [rid] the world of racism ['reisiz?m].And now, half a century['sent?uri] later, we are still fighting for the same wish.Traces of discrimination have gradually['gr?dju?li] disappeared [,dis?'pi?], but prejudice lives on.I too, share the wish of Rosa Parks, but I too, wish that prejudice comes to an end.And my friends, prejudice will come to an end if we all work together as a whole.Let us not judge others by their skin color or appearance:[?'pir?ns], but rather by their content of their character ['k?rikt?].Let us learn to enjoy different cultures and then we’ll enjoy a world of diversity.I wish to look around on a lonely day, and see a blending of colors.Harmony, traveling among people of all skin colors.
