Section4是公認(rèn)的雅思聽力考試最難的部分，大部分考生在平時(shí)的訓(xùn)練中積累起對(duì)其有較強(qiáng)的恐懼心理，這與Section4的?？荚掝}和出題方式有關(guān)。

一般來(lái)講，在該部分出現(xiàn)的話題范圍比較廣，有教育、文化、商業(yè)、環(huán)境、犯罪、健康、生物等各個(gè)方面的?？偨Y(jié)2005年的聽力考試，這一部分的話題集中在：文化、生物、環(huán)境以及健康四個(gè)話題。如在今年9月17日的考試中就考到了關(guān)于海洋生物的研究，雖然話題比較晦澀難懂，但是考點(diǎn)卻是比較簡(jiǎn)單的。所讓考生填的單詞都不是專有名詞，而且有詞庫(kù)可以作為選擇，但是在聽答案的時(shí)候注意原文和答案是同義詞。在2月26日的考試中，Section4關(guān)注了男性健康的問(wèn)題，提到世界范圍內(nèi)男性壽命比女性短，都分析了男性要延長(zhǎng)壽命應(yīng)該采取的措施，里面考察了lifeexpectancy(預(yù)期壽命),backpain(腰疼)等場(chǎng)景詞匯的理解，并考察了Antibiotics(抗生素)的拼寫。又如在8月20日的Section4中考的是健康方面的recreationtherapy，雖然是醫(yī)療方面的話題，但是并沒(méi)有涉及專業(yè)的知識(shí)，要求學(xué)生理解的也是較基本和常見(jiàn)的單詞如recreationtherapy,community,Master’sDegree等。綜上，考生針對(duì)這一部分的準(zhǔn)備可以集中在以下幾點(diǎn)：常見(jiàn)場(chǎng)景及相應(yīng)單詞的熟悉，通過(guò)對(duì)連接詞的把握來(lái)把握文章的節(jié)奏，熟悉常考題型以及技巧。
