趙慕鶴當年離家時，母親曾叮嚀他：「窮要窮得干凈，討飯都可以?！褂戯埖脑?，人家施舍你，至少他積了德，但欠債不還是最要不得的事。所以他這輩子不欠金錢債，也不欠人情債，人說無債一身輕，他一直過得很愉快、心安理得。

他不貪心，只求穩(wěn)定

趙慕鶴小時候不缺錢，后來逃難，身上雖沒錢，總有人供吃住。來臺灣之前意外發(fā)了一筆小財，但到了臺灣以后，朋友借走兩千元去做生意，從此再找不到人。當時一個教員一個月才兩、三百元薪水，一坪土地十八元就買得到。他也只是自認倒霉，并沒有認真追討。因為他一直對錢很看得開，誰有困難他都借，大部分都沒還回來。

后來趙慕鶴一直在公家機關做事，他總記得父親說：「做公家的事發(fā)財，是無恥；做生意不發(fā)財，是無能?！乖谒挠^念里，做公家事應該是肚皮撐不了也餓不著，發(fā)了財就可能是貪污來的，所以他不求富貴，錢夠用就好。

77年他退休，那時還沒有優(yōu)惠存款18％，他想如果退休金一次全部領出來，自己不會理財，用光了不就得討飯？又聽人家說新臺幣五年貶值50％，所以他最后選擇領一個月近四千元的月退俸。因為知道自己不會管錢，手上便不留太多的錢，也不用信用卡，一次領一些，再怎么會花，最多也就是花掉一部分錢而已，這就是趙慕鶴以簡馭繁的理財之道。

他知道很多同事將退休金一次領出來，再投資做生意，想的是錢滾錢、利滾利，可是最后輸光賠凈的人很多?！敢粋€人如果不了解自己，就有吃不完的苦頭，」趙慕鶴自認沒有賺錢的腦筋，也知道自己的極限：「公教人員會做什么生意？我不貪心，只求穩(wěn)定?！?他不欠錢，人情債也必還

孫子讀大學時，趙慕鶴第一次發(fā)現(xiàn)連吃飯錢都不夠了。于是他申請了公教人員子女就學貸款，雖然沒有利息，但到孫子讀完大學時，累計已貸了九十幾萬元，當時自己一年收入才十六萬元，要怎么還？

其實只要趙慕鶴開口，很多人都愿意借他錢，但他寧可欠公家也不要欠私人。后來，有個多年前自高雄女子師范學校畢業(yè)的校友實在看不下去，知道直接借給趙慕鶴他不會接受，當時一美元兌新臺幣二十六元，她聽在銀行工作的先生說，美元一定還會漲，便拿出一百五十萬元借給趙慕鶴買美元，并跟他收銀行利息，趙慕鶴這

才接受了。

趙慕鶴買了美元之后，美元便一直漲，他知道這個方法可行，這才又陸續(xù)向幾個同鄉(xiāng)、同事借了幾百萬元，并堅持給對方利息。而且為了讓債主放心，他買美元的存單都放在債主那里。

就這樣前后兩年，美元從二十六元一路漲到三十三元，趙慕鶴最后把所有美元脫手，又恢復了無債一身輕。

趙慕鶴不僅還金錢債，也不忘還人情債。債務還清后，賣美元的錢還剩下八萬元，他請幫忙的親友吃大餐，任他們喜歡吃什么菜就點什么。吃過飯后，他還送每個人一只五錢的金戒指。

其中有個同鄉(xiāng)借錢給趙慕鶴時未先知會太太，后來太太和他大吵一架，趙慕鶴從旁人那里一得知，馬上便把錢轉回了同鄉(xiāng)賬戶。但還完債請吃飯、送金戒指時，趙慕鶴也沒少算這個同鄉(xiāng)一份，他只想同鄉(xiāng)是有意幫忙，不愉快的事不必計較太多，錢是賺來的，皆大歡喜就好。

他不當守錢奴，懂得享樂

趙慕鶴現(xiàn)在每個月生活費一萬元已是足夠，他不抽煙、不喝酒、不賭博，生活簡單，自己煮飯，還有剩下的錢，他就出去玩。由于朋友多，應酬也多，自然也有很多婚喪喜慶要應付，他雖然只有一個人，但只要出席一定包兩千元，不出席也是兩千元，絲

毫不吝嗇。「我自己一個人，也是算一戶，多拿一千元出去也窮不了的，」他說。

趙慕鶴不想省錢，他認為到這個年齡了，錢不重要，生活才重要，身體健康才重要，該花就花，而且大大方方的花。老同事看不慣他花錢，說他才賺幾個錢而已，怎么老是招待那么多客人，「但我夠用啊?！顾f。

還有同事建議，他老了，應該要存幾個錢。他笑了：「唉，我早就老了，還存什么錢，想開一點吧?！谷思艺f七十才開始，但趙慕鶴說七十就老了：「老了以后，錢不重要，重要是心里的滿足。」 這些感想很多來自于身邊人的借鏡。譬如他有個同鄉(xiāng)，非常有錢，每個月又有六萬多元的退休俸，但卻舍不得吃、舍不得用。好喝酒，但平常在家買了也舍不得喝，參加喜宴時才變得很會喝。走路不是很靈活，但是為了省錢，仍堅持自己煮飯、打掃，舍不得花錢請人。最悲哀的是，雖然拚命存錢，但沒有人需要他的錢，因為兒女自己都有好工作，而且因為他的個性吝嗇不好相處，小孩、太太都不愿意和他住一塊了。

趙慕鶴從來不會苛待自己，也幾乎沒有不滿足的時候，走到哪里都順其自然，也都隨遇而安。

近幾年他偶爾會受邀演講或寫書法，人家給他講師費、車馬費，他卻從來不領，他的理由是：「章子蓋一大堆，還要跑什么請款流

程，太麻煩了，我沒有那兩千塊錢，還是照樣過日子。錢，夠生活就好，多了我也不要?！?/p>

趙慕鶴不投資，也不買保險，他留了一個小套房給孫子，覺得這樣就夠了，留太多錢給子孫不是好事。

他不求人，自己料理生活

趙慕鶴還沒退休時，曾因為膽積水開刀住院住了二十幾天，他只跟人事處請了假，沒有朋友知道他去哪里，因為他不要人家來探病。

趙慕鶴現(xiàn)在獨居，自己料理一切生活大小事，有客人上門，他還能下廚弄幾道菜吃，一屋子訪客加起來歲數可能還沒有他多。

總而言之，無論是生、是病、是死，趙慕鶴都不想給人添麻煩。他覺得這輩子他唏哩呼嚕過來了，一直抱著逃難的心理，「沒想過升官發(fā)財，只希望不欠金錢債、不欠人情債，也不要求人，不要向人低頭，無愧于天地間?！?/p>

他不再婚，沒有非份之想

趙慕鶴自大陸來臺，一直堅守獨身，其實他相貌端正又有正當工作，也頗有女孩子緣，但他離家時，母親曾經交代家里已經有太太、有小孩，不要再結婚，否則會制造很多問題。這些話，他一直謹記在心，因而拒絕了幾次機會。

趙慕鶴七十多歲時，自認已經老得不像樣了，還有一個不到四十歲的小姐想要嫁給他，他覺得很不可思議：「我大她三十幾歲哪！」趙慕鶴當然是拒絕了。

趙慕鶴九十七歲時，還有一個退休的老師想要嫁給他。她說希望生活有個寄托，問他愿不愿意老來伴。

趙慕鶴對她說，如果覺得日子無聊，可以做志工，也可以幫忙人家照顧小孩?！笧槭裁匆奕?？妳再嫁人，人家會瞧不起妳喔。嫁得好就算了，嫁不好不就很倒霉？」

他己的一舉一動，你倍加留心。你是多么想看清自己的真相。一秒鐘里，你將自己的頭腦和心分離，你用著你的腦力剖開你的心。或這時候，是你最可有力的一個靠近真相的方式，即便帶著危險系數，因為或許，思維和感覺再也不能相逢。你在一秒鐘里，追尋。你以為一秒就是一秒，而你忘記了他己的一秒和你的一秒可以單位長度不一樣。他己里，你怎么也找不到自己的真相，絕無關乎你的自剖與否，那自剖結果更是多余。

這天，你沉默了，無語了。你聽不見自己的聲音，看不到音色的具象，亦不能知道自己是否還是原來的自己。你只能聽見時鐘嘀嗒嘀嗒。你的一呼一吸正在對應著時間，于外界的瞬息萬變中。
