擔(dān)任學(xué)生干部是很多同學(xué)曾有過的經(jīng)歷，有很多同學(xué)表達(dá)了這樣的困惑：在學(xué)習(xí)和學(xué)生干部之間，讀書和社團(tuán)之間，如何取得平衡而不顧此失彼。也有人會(huì)問，做學(xué)生干部會(huì)不會(huì)給未來的工作實(shí)踐增加砝碼。一個(gè)曾經(jīng)在中學(xué)時(shí)代做過學(xué)生干部，到了大學(xué)用了更多的時(shí)間來學(xué)習(xí)卻感到寂寞失落的大學(xué)生曾經(jīng)寫信給我，來問這樣的問題。

針對(duì)這個(gè)問題，我想先講兩個(gè)現(xiàn)實(shí)生活中的故事。

我認(rèn)識(shí)一個(gè)男孩子，他在中學(xué)的時(shí)候，由于顯得比同齡人更成熟，所以順理成章地當(dāng)上了班長(zhǎng)和學(xué)生會(huì)主席，成為同學(xué)中的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)者。老師特別信任、寵愛他，讓他組織各種學(xué)生活動(dòng)，并且給予他別人所都沒有的“特權(quán)”。他能夠用成年人的方式跟老師交談，并且站在老師的角度看待問題和處理問題。他成績(jī)中等，但就算是不喜歡他身上濃厚官氣的同學(xué)也不得不佩服他的組織能力。高考之后，他進(jìn)了一所很一般的大學(xué)。他沮喪地發(fā)現(xiàn)，大學(xué)生活與他的期望相去甚遠(yuǎn)，中學(xué)時(shí)他得到的重視和特權(quán)一去不返。由于他的能力特長(zhǎng)似乎局限在一個(gè)狹窄的領(lǐng)域內(nèi)，而且一定要在得到贊賞的順境中才能發(fā)揮，因此，他沒能迅速?gòu)谋姸嗤瑢W(xué)中脫穎而出，最后，他心理徹底崩潰，不得不休學(xué)回家。

第二個(gè)故事的主角是法國(guó)人。二戰(zhàn)爆發(fā)后，在希特勒的凌厲攻勢(shì)下，法國(guó)很快淪陷，一個(gè)很有潛質(zhì)的學(xué)者中斷研究工作去參軍。然而，不幸的是，他在二戰(zhàn)之初就被納粹俘虜，關(guān)進(jìn)德國(guó)監(jiān)獄。他鐘愛的研究生涯和平靜優(yōu)裕的生活仿佛已經(jīng)成為另一個(gè)世界的記憶。最為恐怖的是，在蘇聯(lián)紅軍攻破柏林之前，沒人知道納粹會(huì)對(duì)盟國(guó)戰(zhàn)俘干些什么。獄中5年，暗無天日，命懸一線，直到1945年德國(guó)戰(zhàn)敗，他才獲救。在人類理智遭到法西斯主義的挑戰(zhàn)時(shí)，他在獄中以一種特別的方式度過他本人和整個(gè)世界的這場(chǎng)滔天苦難：在德國(guó)監(jiān)獄的可怕條件下，他奇跡般地寫完了巨著《The Mediterranan and the Mditerranean World in the age of Philip II》的大部分篇幅，他后來說，這是“a direct existential response to the tragic times I was passing though”。這個(gè)人的名字叫布羅代爾（Fernand Braudel），后來成為法國(guó)最優(yōu)秀的歷史學(xué)家，年鑒學(xué)派的巨擘，他的貢獻(xiàn)甚至影響到今天的中國(guó)學(xué)界。對(duì)比兩個(gè)故事中的人物在危機(jī)中的不同表現(xiàn)，你可以看到：在遭遇重大危機(jī)的時(shí)候，一個(gè)人如果有豐富的精神資源，他就能以勇氣、智慧和堅(jiān)韌度過最嚴(yán)峻的關(guān)頭；相反，一個(gè)心靈貧乏的人，最普通的命運(yùn)起伏也可以摧毀他的精神支柱。

然而，人非生而知之，必待學(xué)而知之，豐富的精神資源是要靠自己去學(xué)習(xí)和領(lǐng)悟才能得到的。我覺得，做學(xué)生干部的目的應(yīng)該是為了培養(yǎng)能力，千萬不能把它當(dāng)作一種權(quán)力。在中國(guó)這樣一個(gè)有幾千年官本位傳統(tǒng)的國(guó)家，權(quán)力無孔不入地侵入到社會(huì)的每一寸空間，學(xué)生難免會(huì)受到成人社會(huì)的一些影響。然而成人社會(huì)中的權(quán)力在控制受眾的同時(shí)，也扭曲掌權(quán)者自身，享受權(quán)力的快感為控制者提供了一種虛假的成就感，一旦失去權(quán)力，已經(jīng)變得貧乏的內(nèi)心就失去支撐，不得不面對(duì)巨大的失落感。學(xué)生干部中既有品學(xué)兼優(yōu)的好學(xué)生，也有受成人社會(huì)權(quán)力模式影響的小“職業(yè)革命家”。個(gè)中分寸如何把握，全在一個(gè)人是否具備健全的、堅(jiān)強(qiáng)的人格。如果你能看到，學(xué)生干部這個(gè)角色不是意味著權(quán)力，而是服務(wù)，那么無論你做不做學(xué)生干部，服務(wù)的機(jī)會(huì)永遠(yuǎn)會(huì)有。若打算采取個(gè)人方式，則幫助身邊任何遇到困難的人都可算在內(nèi)；若依附于某個(gè)組織，也有很多民間的、自發(fā)的公益志愿活動(dòng)，同樣既可以鍛煉自己又濟(jì)人危難。的確，有種觀念是把做不做學(xué)生干部、做多高級(jí)別的學(xué)生干部當(dāng)作衡量一個(gè)學(xué)生是不是優(yōu)秀的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)之一，我認(rèn)為這是今天這個(gè)價(jià)值失范的社會(huì)最流行的荒唐見解之一。無論“入世”或“出世”，只要是自己喜歡的生活方式，也都可以成就精彩的人生。那么，成長(zhǎng)中應(yīng)該追尋的是什么呢？這個(gè)問題已經(jīng)有無數(shù)答案，而我最喜歡的答案，來自傅雷先生的描述，那就是：做一個(gè)“又熱烈又恬靜，又深刻又樸素，又溫柔又高傲，又微妙又率直”的人。至于對(duì)未來工作可能的影響，政府機(jī)構(gòu)或者國(guó)企可能對(duì)學(xué)生黨員或?qū)W生干部比較看重一些，而外企或者民營(yíng)企業(yè)就看得比較淡一點(diǎn)。如果你的理想是從政，那在現(xiàn)有制度下必須入黨；否則，我覺得大可不必把入黨看得太重。做一個(gè)正直的人、學(xué)會(huì)為人處世、掌握過硬的技術(shù)和很強(qiáng)的能力，這些都更能夠成為你將來在社會(huì)上立于不敗之地的硬件資本。至于做學(xué)生干部，確實(shí)能夠鍛煉一下你的組織和交際能力，但是我認(rèn)為這在你的大學(xué)生活中無需占據(jù)第一位，前提必須是不影響學(xué)習(xí)。
