The Fox and the Goat（狐貍和山羊）

One day a fox fell into a well.一天，一只狐貍失足掉到了井里。He tried to get out of it, but he couldn’t.不論他如何掙扎仍沒(méi)法爬上來(lái)。Just then a goat came to the well.就在當(dāng)時(shí)，一只山羊來(lái)到井邊。She wanted to drink some water.她想喝水。

She looked down into the well and saw a fox there.她往井里看發(fā)現(xiàn)狐貍在井里。The goat said to the fox, “Is the water good?”

便問(wèn)狐貍：“井水好不好喝？” “Yes, the water is good,” said the fox.狐貍說(shuō)：“是的，井里的水很好喝?！?/p>

The goat jumped into the well and drank much water as she liked.山羊便不假思索地跳了下去，咕咚咕咚痛飲。After a while the goat said to the fox, “How can we get out of this well?” 一會(huì)兒之后，山羊問(wèn)狐貍：“我們?cè)趺磸木锍鋈?？?/p>

The fox said, “Well!Put your feet on the wall.狐貍說(shuō)：“你用前腳扒在井墻上。Then I jump up from your back.我從你后背跳上井去，After that I will help you out.”

再拉你上來(lái)，我們就都得救了?！癘h, it’s a fine idea,” said the goat.“嗯，真的是個(gè)好辦法?！鄙窖蛘f(shuō)。

And the fox got upon her back and jumped out of the well.狐貍跳到他的背上，再用力一跳，跳出了井口?！癗ow help me out, please!” said the goat.“現(xiàn)在請(qǐng)把我救出去吧！”山羊說(shuō)。

“Why didn’t you think of how to get out, before you jumped in?” The fox said,then ran away.“為什么你在跳進(jìn)井里之前沒(méi)有想著如何上來(lái)呢？”狐貍說(shuō)完就跑開(kāi)了。

The story tell us: Think twice before your action.這個(gè)故事告訴我們：三思而后行。Look at the Sky from the Bottom of a Well 坐井觀天

青蛙就問(wèn)他：“你從哪里來(lái)？” “I fly from the sky,” the crow says.“我從天上上來(lái)。” The frog feels surprised and says，青蛙驚訝了，就說(shuō)：

“The sky is only as big as the mouth of the well.“天空就只有這井口這么大，How do you fly from the sky?”

你怎么會(huì)從天上飛老呢？” The crow says, “The sky is very big.烏鴉說(shuō)：“天空很大。

You always stay in the well, so you don’t know the world is big.” 只不過(guò)你一直呆在井里，所有不知道世界很大?！?The frog says, “I don’t believe.”

青蛙說(shuō)：“我不相信?！?/p>

But the crow says, “You can come out and have a look by yourself.” 烏鴉說(shuō)：“你可以出來(lái)，自己看看嘛?！?So the frog comes out from the well.于是青蛙來(lái)到井外。

He is very surprised.How big the world is!他十分驚訝，原來(lái)世界這么大！

Later, people use it to describe the ones who have a very narrow view.后來(lái)，人們就用“坐井觀天”來(lái)比喻一個(gè)人的思想狹隘。

The wolf and the lamb(狼和小羊)Once upon a time a wolf was lapping at a stream.從前，一只狼在溪流喝水，When he looked up, he saw a lamb drinking a little lower down.看到一只小羊在下游喝水。“There”s my supper,“ he thought.那是我的晚餐，”狼想，”I will find some excuse to catch it.“ “我要找一個(gè)借口吃掉他?！?/p>

”No, master,“ said the lamb.”我沒(méi)有，先生，”小羊回答說(shuō)，I cannot muddle your water because it runs down from you to me.“ “我在下游喝水，怎么能攪渾濁你喝的水呢？” ”Well, then,“ said the wolf.“那么，”狼見(jiàn)此計(jì)不成，又說(shuō)道，”Why did you call me bad names this time last year?“

“你去年的今天為什么說(shuō)我的壞話？”

”It was impossible,“ said the lamb.“不可能，”小羊說(shuō)，”I am only six months old.“

“我現(xiàn)在才只有六個(gè)月大?！?”I don“t care,” shouted the wolf.“我不管，”狼說(shuō)，“If it was not you, it must be your father.”

“如果不是你，就是你的爸爸?！?/p>

After that he rushed at the poor little lamb and ate it up.說(shuō)完，他就沖向小山羊，把他吃掉了。

This story tells us: A bad man always has excuse when he wants to do bad thing.寓意: 當(dāng)一個(gè)壞人想為自己所做的壞事尋找借口時(shí)，他不會(huì)在乎這個(gè)借口是否恰當(dāng)。

Belling the cat 老鼠開(kāi)會(huì)

Long ago, there was a big cat in the house.從前，一所房子里面有一只大貓，He caught many mice while they were stealing food.他抓住了很多偷東西的老鼠。

One day the mice had a meeting to talk about the way to deal with their common enemy.一天，老鼠在一起開(kāi)會(huì)商量如何對(duì)付他們共同的敵人。

Some said this, and some said that.會(huì)上大家各有各的主張

At last a young mouse said that he had a good idea.最后，一只小老鼠站出來(lái)說(shuō)他有一個(gè)好主意?！癢e could tie a bell around the neck of the cat.我們可以在貓的脖子上綁一個(gè)鈴鐺，Then when he comes near, 那么如果他來(lái)到附近，we can hear the sound of the bell, and run away.” 我們聽(tīng)到鈴聲就可以馬上逃跑?！?Everyone was agree with that idea, 大家都贊同這個(gè)建議，but an old wise mouse said, 這時(shí)一只聰明的老耗子站出來(lái)說(shuō)：

“That is a good idea, but who will tie the bell to the cat?” “這的確是個(gè)絕妙的主意，但是誰(shuí)來(lái)給貓的脖子上綁鈴鐺呢?”

The mice looked at each other, but nobody spoke.老鼠們面面相覷，誰(shuí)也沒(méi)有說(shuō)話。

The story tell us:Easier said than done.寓意: 有些事情說(shuō)起來(lái)容易，做起來(lái)卻很難。

The fox and the grapes

One hot summer day a fox was walking through an orchard.He stopped before a bunch of 4 grapes.They were ripe and juicy.“I’m just feeling thirsty,” he thought.So he backed up a few paces, got a running start, jumped up, but could not reach the grapes.He walked back.One, two, three, he jumped up again, but still, he missed the grapes.The fox tried again and again, but never succeeded.At last he decided to give it up.He walked away with his nose in the air, and said“I am sure they are sour.”

●一個(gè)炎熱的夏日，狐貍走過(guò)一個(gè)果園，他停在一大串熟透而多汁的葡萄前。

●狐貍想：“我正口渴呢。”于是他后退了幾步，向前一沖，跳起來(lái)，卻無(wú)法夠到葡萄。

寓意: 在經(jīng)歷了許多嘗試而不能獲得成功的時(shí)候，有些人往往故意輕視成功，以此來(lái)尋求心理安慰。

英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)比賽方案

為了進(jìn)一步推動(dòng)我校英語(yǔ)教學(xué)和素質(zhì)教育的發(fā)展，現(xiàn)代學(xué)院文旅分院在技能節(jié)到來(lái)之季，特舉辦高職高專學(xué)生英語(yǔ)演講比賽，本屆比賽的時(shí)間為4月18日，為了保證賽事的順利進(jìn)行，特制訂本章程，請(qǐng)各參賽單位遵照?qǐng)?zhí)行。

一、比賽宗旨

激發(fā)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的興趣、提高英語(yǔ)的綜合應(yīng)用能力，給中學(xué)生提供一個(gè)鍛煉自我、展示自我、捕捉機(jī)遇的舞臺(tái)。

手現(xiàn)場(chǎng)抽抽取兩道問(wèn)題，由主持人念題。問(wèn)答時(shí)間共為兩分鐘。

四、獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)設(shè)置

本次演講比賽設(shè)一、二、三等獎(jiǎng)，根據(jù)參賽選手人數(shù)比例產(chǎn)生，其中一等獎(jiǎng)?wù)?%，二等獎(jiǎng)?wù)?0%，三等獎(jiǎng)?wù)?0%，所有獲獎(jiǎng)選手的指導(dǎo)教師均將獲得榮譽(yù)證書。

結(jié)構(gòu)清晰，邏輯性強(qiáng)占15%

（2）語(yǔ)言方面：發(fā)音準(zhǔn)確，語(yǔ)調(diào)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)占30%

用詞恰當(dāng)，表達(dá)流利占30%

（3）表演方面：感情充沛，富有表現(xiàn)力占20%

著裝整潔，儀表大方占20%
