Good afternoon everyone!I am Lauren.It’s my great honor to be here to give my speech to you.The title of my speech today is “Family”.“Family”,what a warm word.Every time I think of it, I’ll feel that my body is full of energy and that no matter what has happened to me, I can still move on optimisticly.I think that most of people have the same feeling as me and we all have great affection for our family.But ladies and gentlemen, do you really understand the meaning of the family?

George Santayana once said, “The family is one of nature's masterpieces.”

First of all, as we all know, the simple word “family” represents that father and mother I love you.When we are little children, we used to express our love to our parents frequently by this sentence.However, when we grow up, seldom do we say it to them because we feel awkward to express our love directly to our parents.But we know that we never stop love them and love our family.I think family means more.To different people , the word may have different meanings.To me, firstly, I think it means duty.Not as the same size as the common Chinese family, there are four

members in my family;father, mother, my little brother and I.Now, let me introduce my parents to you.My father is a tall man, who is a foreman that supervises others when they are working.My morther is a beautiful lady, who is a shopkeeper that has a small store.For the most part of the year, my father has to work far away from home.And I can only meet him few times except holidays during a year because basically, I am in school and my father is too busy to come back home frequently.As I have introduced to you, I have a little brother who is only 8 years old, so the burden that my parents bear on their shoulders to bring up our family is much heavier.Being the main breadwinner in ou family, my father has to go to different places to get the work to earn money to support our family.Father once told me that “It’s man’s duty.”

I don’t know what it mean because I was young at that moment.But now I can understand it profoundly.“A king realizing his incompetence, can either delegate or abdicate his duties.A father can do neither.”

I think the sentence that Marlene Dietrich said is really profound opinion.So, in my opinion, duty is the essential part of a family.Secondly,I think family means protection.When we are in our

childhood, we used to let our little hand be hold by our parents

and what we need to do was just follow in the footsteps of them happily.We all know that it’s easy for a little child to feel afraid of everything unknown, so we always want to be with their parents.We want them to protect us against anything harmful to us.We know that the place where they stay in is certain to be the safest place.“Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible

—the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family.”Virginia Stair said.Home is the best place in the world.And Family is the warmest word in the world.We ask for much from our family when we are young, but now most of us have been the adult,so it is time for everyone of us who talk about family values to start valuing families.Come on , guys, Let’s told all of our family members that I love you and i love our family,Thank you for taking time to listen to my speech, ladies and gentleman.Thank you.

Good morning afternoon , teachers.My name is Lv Ang.I’m ten years old.I come from Tianbei Primary School.I’m in Class One, Grade Five.I have a harmonious family.Now let me tell you about my family.There are three people in my family.My father, my mother and I.My father is of medium height.He he is thin.He is handsome.He is strict with me.My mother is tall and thin.She is good-looking.And she in kind.They are both teachers.They love their career.They love their students.And their students love them.If you select to be a teacher, you will select the poor material life.They always say so.But as teachers , they don’t regret.When I was young , I was always ill.They were worried and took me to some hospitals.Sometimes, they took me to Jilin at midnight.In order to make me healthy , they bought plenty of nutriment like fruit, food, drinks and so on.I remember that the bottles of yogurt were like a hill.My parents are very busy every day.Nobody can look after me.When I was five years old, I became a student.Because I was young, I didn’t have good habits.They were very worried.Two years ago they helped me make a ten-year training plan.I began to learn calligraphy and painting.“We don't let you become a calligrapher or artist.Please don't have much stress.Our goal is to let you study easily and experience the benefit slowly in the learning process” my father said.I remember that I picked up the painting brush and writing brush for the first time.I couldn't do well.When I wanted to give it up, I saw the encouraged eyes of my father.I felt my father’s love.So I tried my best to do it well.When my works won the prize.I thanked my father.Last October, they took me into the halls of Chinese Kungfu.I learn not only the spirit of Chinese Kungfu, but also improve the quality of my own.More importantly, I learn how to cooperate and bear hardships, how to be patient and optimistic.A naughty boy becomes ripe and confident.I go to jilin to learn calligraphy , painting and Chinese Kungfu on weekends.Jilin is more than 50 kilometers far from my home.They take me to Jilin every weekend.And every night,they always accompany me to paint ,write and practice Kungfu.My father was heavy, but he is thin because of me.He hardly ever goes out to drink with his friends because of me.My mother is very busy every day.But she still studies English with me every night.In my spare time, we climb the moutains , take a walk, make snowmen play badminton,play basketball, swim, visit my grandparents and so on.Now you see, I live in a happy life.I love my father.I love my mother.I love my family.Thank you for listening.

欲養(yǎng)而親不待,which means when we have enough money and time after a long time ignoring our families because of our own career,the only thing we can find is that our parents haven’t been here yet.they've been in god's side.I wanna to tell them that you are not sending money to Chinese Mobile when you call back, but that you are sending greets to your family.besides,i don't think the family line is only restricted in calls.it should include QQ,Micro and Fetion,which are very popular today in China.have you ever heard of a story about a billionaire? One day, a billionaire was drunk heavily and lay down in front of his apartment.A guard came to him saying “l(fā)et me take you home.” the billionaire said frustratingly” i don't have a home;it’s only my house,” then he cried I want a family, I need family love!” from this story we can learn clearly that we are all emotional creatures and the family love is the basic emotion we want in our deep soul.As my idol Rui Chenggang said: in my whole life, there are three things very significant to me.the first is health, the second is family love and the third is freedom.And as for me, I call back home once a week, I remember my mom's birthday is 4.5 ,my father's birthday is 9.16 and my grandmother's is 12.24.So ladies and gentlemen,remember,wherever we go, there is always a family line connecting our family and us.In a word, we should enjoy our family love ,cherish our family love and protect our family love.And i think that's the very important thing I'd like to mention here.thank you very much in deed.--太原師范學院英語系芮親成斐
