Part of what we take pride in as Americans is that almost uniquely to any country around the world...we were started on the basis of an idea.身為美國人所以值得驕傲的部份原因，是我們有著與世界上其他國家不同之處─這國家的創(chuàng)立基礎是理想。

A set of ideas about liberty and justice and equality that all men were created equal, that we are a nation not of men but of laws...a nation in which, if you are willing to try, then you can make it.自由、公平和平等所組成的理想，人人生來就是平等的，我們是一個法制而非人治的國家，在這個國家里，只要你愿意去嘗試，你就可以獲得成功。

That it doesn't matter where you were born or what color your skin is or what religion you practice.That you are able to say what you please and write what you please and worship as you please.生在哪里，膚色如何，信仰如何是不重要的。你可以說任何你想說的話，寫任何你想寫的文章，崇拜任何你想崇拜的。

That America's ready to lead again, and yes, we will lead militarily and we will hunt down terrorists, but we will also lead in caring for the environment and making sure that we're stopping global warming.We're also gonna lead in creating the new technologies that ensure energy independence.We're also going to lead in helping other countries create the kinds of education systems that give them opportunity.We're also gonna lead in upholding human rights and civil rights, and that's why it's right that we restore habeas corpus and we close Guantanamo.美國已經做好再次領導世界的準備，是的，我們將會在軍事上領導，我們將會追捕恐怖分子，我們也會在關注環(huán)境問題方面領導，并確保我們能夠阻止全球暖化。我們將領導創(chuàng)造新的能源技術來保證在能源方面得以自主。我們將領導來幫助其他國家，以建立能提供各種機會的教育體系。我們將領導支援人權和公民權利，也正是因此恢復人身保護權和關閉關塔那摩是正確的。

We send a message to the world that we stand for something here even when we're threatened, even when it's hard!

I stand before you as the son of ordinary folks.My grandparents grew up in a small town in Kansas.My mother was a single mom, my father, who was from Kenya, left when we were very young so I didn't know him...I was raised by a single mom.We didn't have a lot of money.We didn't have a lot of power.But there are a couple of things they passed on to me.站在你們面前的我是一個普通人的兒子。我的祖父是在堪薩斯的一個小鎮(zhèn)長大的。我的母親是一個單身母親。我那來自肯亞的父親在我很小的時候就離開了，所以我不認識他。我是由一個單身母親撫養(yǎng)成人的。我們沒有很多錢。我們沒有很多權勢。但是他們卻給了我?guī)讟訓|西。

I am proud of you, the American people, because you are standing up and insisting on change and if you will stand with me and march with me and walk with me and vote, then I promise you that just about 4 months from now-just about 4 months from now, we will have won Montana.-Yeah!
