源于紀念伍子胥

端午節(jié)的第二個傳說，在江浙一帶流傳很廣，是紀念春秋時期（公元前770--前476年）的伍子胥。伍子胥名員，楚國人，父兄均為楚王所殺，后來子胥棄暗投明，奔向吳國，助吳伐楚，五戰(zhàn)而入楚都郢城。當時楚平王已死，子胥掘墓鞭尸三百，以報殺父兄之仇。吳王闔廬死后，其子夫差繼位，吳軍士氣高昂，百戰(zhàn)百勝，越國大敗，越王勾踐請和，夫差許之。子胥建議，應徹底消滅越國，夫差不聽，吳國大宰，受越國賄賂，讒言陷害子胥，夫差信之，賜子胥寶劍，子胥以此死。子胥本為忠良，視死如歸，在死前對鄰舍人說：“我死后，將我眼睛挖出懸掛在吳京之東門上，以看越國軍隊入城滅吳”，便自刎而死，夫差聞言大怒，令取子胥之尸體裝在皮革里于五月五日投入大江，因此相傳端午節(jié)亦為紀念伍子胥之日。

源于紀念孝女曹娥

端午節(jié)的第三個傳說，是為紀念東漢（公元23--220年）孝女曹娥救父投江。曹娥是東漢上虞人，父親溺于江中，數(shù)日不見尸體，當時孝女曹娥年僅十四歲，晝夜沿江號哭。過了十七天，在五月五日也投江，五日后抱出父尸。就此傳為神話，繼而相傳至縣府知事，令度尚為之立碑，讓他的弟子邯鄲淳作誄辭頌揚。

孝女曹娥之墓，在今浙江紹興，后傳曹娥碑為晉王義所書。后人為紀念曹娥的孝節(jié)，在曹娥投江之處興建曹娥廟，她所居住的村鎮(zhèn)改名為曹娥鎮(zhèn)，曹娥殉父之處定名為曹娥江。

源于古越民族圖騰祭

其實，“龍舟競渡”早在戰(zhàn)國時代就有了。在急鼓聲中劃刻成龍形的獨木舟，做競渡游戲，以娛神與樂人，是祭儀中半宗教性、半娛樂性的節(jié)目。

后來，賽龍舟除紀念屈原之外，在各地人們還付予了不同的寓意。

往年的粽子總是媽媽在市場或超市買現(xiàn)成的。今年，我纏著媽媽，硬是要學包粽子。媽媽拗不過我，只好答應了。

初四下午，我就跟媽媽學包粽子。媽媽拿了一張粽葉，用手一卷，粽葉便成了一個空心的圓錐形。我學著媽媽的樣子，拿了一張粽葉，想把它卷成圓椎形，可就是卷不好，卷來卷去還是一個直筒。媽媽見了，就在旁邊指點：“左手捏緊粽葉一角，右手將粽葉的另一角往里卷，下面用力拉緊，上面放松一些?！痹趮寢尩闹更c下，我卷好了粽葉。

然后是捆繩。只見媽媽兩手捏緊粽葉，用繩子在粽子尖角附近纏了兩圈，結上繩頭，一個漂亮的粽子就包好了。我也照著捆好了第一個粽子。隨之，第二個，第三個，第四個??我一連包了好幾個。

最后一道工序就是煮粽子了。把綁好的粽子逐一放到鍋里，然后放入冷水滿過粽子1厘米左右，點火??水開15分鐘后把鍋里上下粽子兌換位置，再以慢火煮上1小時即可。

“初一糕，初二粽，初三螺，初四桃，初五插艾??”每當念起這些兒時的歌謠，我就會想起家鄉(xiāng)的端午節(jié)來。

家鄉(xiāng)在壺公山下。山上的草木青翠，瓜果飄香；山下綠水環(huán)繞，田野肥沃。在一片郁郁蔥蔥的枇杷樹邊，有著整齊的紅磚綠瓦。一派安靜和諧的鄉(xiāng)野村落，這就是我的家鄉(xiāng)，也是明代狀元柯潛的故鄉(xiāng)。每年端午節(jié)來臨，我們便會挎上籃子和姐姐一起上山去采艾草，并配上石榴葉、枙子花等合為“五味草”。初五這一天，家家戶戶門上都會插上艾草，據(jù)說艾草會鎮(zhèn)邪辟災。當然在我們看來，只要聞一離那清新又奇異的艾草的清香，對我們來說就是一件快樂的事情，所以每年我們都爭著到山上來，采下大片的艾草，也采下大片的快樂。

當然媽媽會用“五味草”給我們煮上好多的鴨蛋，據(jù)說小孩吃了還不咳嗽呢？而對我們小孩來說我們總是拿著心靈手巧的姐姐用五彩的毛線編的袋子，裝滿鴨蛋到處炫耀。吃過午飯，媽媽又會用“五味草”煮鴨蛋的水給我們洗澡，真是又香又舒服，整個夏天都不長痱子呢??

長大了念書才知道，包粽子的習俗和我國歷史上的愛國詩人屈原有關呢？據(jù)說屈原跳入汨羅江后，群眾為了不讓水里的魚咬著詩人的身體便做了好多的粽子，扔到水里。這樣魚兒有的吃就不會傷害到詩人了。于是，為了保護并紀念這位偉大的愛國詩人，后來有了更為熱鬧的“賽龍舟”。

我們村里沒有賽龍舟，但在黃石每年都會有這樣的熱鬧非凡的場面出現(xiàn)：
