Books on how to do things are very popular in America today.There are about four to five thousand kinds of books about the money.Another may tell you how to save or spend it.And another may explain how to give your money away.Some “How to” books tell you how to choose a way of making a living and how to succeed in it.However, if you fail, you can buy a book which is called “How to turn a Failure into a Success.” If you would like to become very rich, you can buy the book “How to make a Million.” If you never make any money at all, you may need a book called “How to live on nothing.”

If you are unhappy with your life, you can read “How to Love Every Minute of Your Life.” There is even a book called “How to kill yourself.” 24.The Pianist and an Old Woman John was a very famous pianist.When he was a small boy, he once played at a party in the home of a rich man.He was only eight years old, but he had played the piano for several years.At the party he played

A few weeks later, Mrs.Tan’s friend visits her.Her friend is surprised to see that Mrs.Tan is even fatter than before and she is eating a huge sandwich with chocolate and ice cream.“I thought you were on a diet,” her friend says.“Oh, I am.” Mrs.Tan answers.“I’ve already had all the food on my diet today.Now I’m having my dinner.” 28.A Cheap Mea A man goes into a restaurant and sits down at one of the tables.A waiter comes up to him and gives him the menu.The man reads it carefully, then he orders all the most expensive dishes.Then a small boy comes into the restaurant and sits at the man’s table.The waiter comes up and says to the man, “What will your little boy like, sir?” “Oh, just an ice cream,” the man tells him.After he finishes his meal, the man stands up and says to the waiter, “I’m just going out to buy a newspaper.” He leaves the restaurant.The waiter gives the boy an ice cream.The boy eats it, and then stands up and walks to the door.The waiter runs towards him.“Excuse me,” he says, “but your father hasn’t come back and he hasn’t paid for his meal or your ice cream.You’d better stay here until your father comes back and pays his bill.” “He’s not my father,” the boy says.“The man came up to me in the street and asked me if I liked ice cream.I told him I did.The he told me to come into the restaurant at nine o’clock and sit at his table.He said he would give me one.”

中央電視臺“希望之星”英語風(fēng)采大賽是國家廣電總局正式批準的、中央電視臺社教節(jié)目中心主辦的面向全國的大型電視英語比賽。大賽分為幼兒組、小學(xué)低年級組、小學(xué)高年級組、初中組、高中組、成人（職業(yè)）組六個組別，是以廣大中小學(xué)生為主體的全國同類比賽中規(guī)模最大、影響人數(shù)最多的一項英語賽事，為各年齡段的英語愛好者提供了一個實現(xiàn)英語夢想、展示英語風(fēng)采的舞臺。大賽自2000年起每年舉辦一屆，2009全國參賽選手達150萬，至今已成功舉辦十屆。按照中央電視臺的統(tǒng)一部署，2011大賽自即日起在全國開始啟動。

六、比賽安排

大賽分為分賽區(qū)選拔賽、省賽區(qū)選拔賽、全國總決賽三個階段；濰坊賽區(qū)選拔賽分資格賽、初賽和復(fù)賽三個階段進行，資格賽由選手所在學(xué)校、單位統(tǒng)一組織，初賽、復(fù)賽由大賽組委會統(tǒng)一組織。

2.初賽時間：2011年1月下旬；

3.復(fù)賽時間：2011年3月下旬—5月上旬；

4.山東省總決賽：2011年6月；

小低組初賽

1.自我介紹+自選題英文朗誦 2分鐘

（自我介紹內(nèi)容當(dāng)中不能出現(xiàn)中文名字和學(xué)校名稱）

2.看圖說話 1分鐘

（學(xué)生現(xiàn)場抽取2幅圖片，選手需在1分鐘里圍繞這2幅圖片說句子，保證每幅圖片都涉及到，但句子之間可以沒有很強的邏輯性，準備時間為30秒。）

3.評委提問

小高組初賽

1.自我介紹+自選題英文朗誦 2分鐘

（自我介紹內(nèi)容當(dāng)中不能出現(xiàn)中文名字和學(xué)校名稱）

2.看圖編故事1分鐘

（選手現(xiàn)場抽圖，在規(guī)定的時間內(nèi)用所給的圖片編故事，準備時間為30秒。）

3.評委提問

初中組、高中組、大學(xué)組初賽

1.綜合知識測試（筆試）20分鐘

2.選題朗誦2分鐘

（選手將隨機抽取字數(shù)約100-150字的短文進行朗誦，時間2分鐘，準備

時間30秒，主要考察英語語音語調(diào)、肢體語言和情感表達等方面）。

3.抽題演講1.5分鐘

（現(xiàn)場抽取圖片或關(guān)鍵詞,就此素材編一篇短文，準備時間為30秒。）

4.評委提問

團體賽：各組別團體賽人數(shù)限制在每組3-5人，比賽形式為英語短劇、歌舞劇、電影配音等與英文相關(guān)的集體演出，每組比賽時間不超過5分鐘。另外，對各參賽團體的道具要進行一定的限制。

各組別復(fù)賽形式待定

* 比賽內(nèi)容參考范圍出自外語與教學(xué)研究出版社的《希望之星英語風(fēng)采大賽培訓(xùn)教程》。

八、比賽要求

1.小學(xué)組自選題英語朗誦環(huán)節(jié)選擇必須是不少于100字的英語故事或小短文，并且能在規(guī)定時間內(nèi)完成，要求帶入賽場的英語稿統(tǒng)一打印在A4紙上（文稿內(nèi)容不得出現(xiàn)自我介紹等相關(guān)內(nèi)容），稿子上不允許有任何標(biāo)記，如注音，中文翻譯等，一式兩份，一份現(xiàn)場交給評委。此環(huán)節(jié)主要考察選手的英語語音語調(diào)和情感表達等方面。

2.比賽中，選手的英語綜合能力、表現(xiàn)力、才藝、團隊協(xié)作能力等都將作為非常重要的考核標(biāo)準，與此同時，選手的反應(yīng)速度、創(chuàng)意、英語知識面等英語綜合能力也將作為考核內(nèi)容。

3.選手的英語基礎(chǔ)以及能力將作為選拔的重要標(biāo)準。為了能選拔出綜合能力強的選手，選手臨場的應(yīng)變能力、表現(xiàn)力、配合協(xié)作的能力也將作為被考核的內(nèi)容。

九、賽前培訓(xùn)

2011賽季全國組委會對賽前培訓(xùn)實行統(tǒng)一管理。經(jīng)中央電視臺考評授權(quán)，濰坊賽區(qū)大賽唯一指定培訓(xùn)機構(gòu)為“濰坊哈佛外語培訓(xùn)學(xué)校”，為確保濰坊賽區(qū)選手能更好地把握參賽要求，掌握參賽技巧，全面了解參賽的相關(guān)事項，力爭在比賽中取得更好的成績，濰坊賽區(qū)組委會將在初賽和復(fù)賽前組織完整系統(tǒng)的賽前培訓(xùn)，培訓(xùn)教材為全國組委會與外語教學(xué)與研究出版社共同編寫的《中央電視臺希望之星英語風(fēng)采大賽培訓(xùn)教程》，選手可自愿報名參加。

1.初賽培訓(xùn)報名時間：即日起至2011年1月15日

2.復(fù)賽培訓(xùn)報名截止到2011年3月10日

3.初賽培訓(xùn)時間：寒假期間

4.復(fù)賽培訓(xùn)時間：2011年3月中下旬

十、活動安排

1.報名形式：以學(xué)校為單位集中報名.2.報名地點：

3.比賽費用（全國統(tǒng)一標(biāo)準）：

（1）大賽資格賽免收報名費。

（2）進入初賽環(huán)節(jié)的選手每人需交納 50元的初賽費。進入復(fù)賽環(huán)節(jié)的選手每人需交納 60元的復(fù)賽費，同時獲得由賽區(qū)組委會向選手贈送的大賽指定參考資料一套和參賽注冊卡一張。

（3）進入省賽以后環(huán)節(jié)的選手，不再交納參賽費，可能產(chǎn)生的交通或食宿費用自理。

4.參賽選手需交納近期免冠1寸照片2張。

5.為了規(guī)范比賽，中央電視臺對2011賽季規(guī)定了網(wǎng)上注冊環(huán)節(jié)，凡進入到復(fù)賽環(huán)節(jié)的選手，必須持注冊卡在規(guī)定時間內(nèi)，登錄央視國際網(wǎng)絡(luò)（）注冊個人信息，獲得確認后方可參加后續(xù)比賽，未及時按要求注冊的選手，后續(xù)參賽資格和比賽成績無效。

6.節(jié)目播出及推廣階段：2011年7月至8月，播出全國決賽實況錄像。

十一、賽事后續(xù)活動

1.2011“希望之星”北京夏令營

（1）為了滿足廣大參賽選手的要求，全國組委會研究決定，2011全國總決賽期間，將舉辦“‘希望之星’北京萬人夏令營活動”，屆時報名選手將有幸作為嘉賓進入中央電視臺10號演播大廳，直接參與全國總決賽的賽事，親眼目睹全國優(yōu)秀選手的風(fēng)采展示，還將參加全國組委會統(tǒng)一安排的多位 “央視著名主持人與大賽選手見面會”，實現(xiàn)與央視名嘴零距離接觸。

（2）海外夏令營

具體方案將在濰坊賽區(qū)組委會網(wǎng)站發(fā)布：.2、“希望英語走進校園伴我成長”活動（由承辦學(xué)校提出申請，濰坊賽區(qū)組委會負責(zé)協(xié)調(diào)全國組委會統(tǒng)一安排）。

十二、獎項設(shè)置

1、濰坊賽區(qū)各組分別設(shè)置特等獎、一等獎、二等獎、三等獎、優(yōu)勝獎、希望獎。

2、優(yōu)秀輔導(dǎo)教師將獲得大賽組委會頒發(fā)的“優(yōu)秀指導(dǎo)教師”證書。

3、優(yōu)秀參賽單位將獲得大賽組委會頒發(fā)的“優(yōu)秀組織單位”證書。

四、獎項設(shè)置：

六、報名及參賽辦法：

1、凡喜愛英語，有一定英語基礎(chǔ)的中國籍青少年學(xué)生均可報名參加大賽。為了

讓更多的選手參賽，已經(jīng)進入過往屆廣東賽區(qū)和全國總決賽的選手不得再次報名參加同一組別的比賽。

2、按中央電視臺和大賽全國組委會統(tǒng)一規(guī)定，大賽的活動經(jīng)費安排如下：

（1）大賽是一項全民文化公益活動，由中央電視臺支付資金用于全國總決賽的節(jié)目錄制及播出。

（2）參加初賽的選手每人需交納報名費、初賽費50元，用于初賽的宣傳、場地、比賽、評卷等賽務(wù)開支。

（3）進入復(fù)賽的選手須交納60元復(fù)賽費，用于復(fù)賽場地、出題、比賽、評委、證書等賽務(wù)開支，大賽組委會向參加復(fù)賽選手贈送一套大賽參賽參考資料。

（4）進入深圳賽區(qū)決賽和全國總決賽的選手，不再交納參賽費。

3、報名方式：

（1）參賽選手于12月20日前攜學(xué)生證或戶口簿復(fù)印件、正面免冠近照2張和

報名費50元到承辦單位星光文化藝術(shù)培訓(xùn)中心辦理報名手續(xù)。

4、賽區(qū)承辦單位于賽前發(fā)出比賽通知、選手注意事項和參賽證。參賽選手按賽前通知的時間、地點和要求參賽。具體時間如有變動，以賽前通知為準。

七、其他事宜：

1、參賽選手參賽期間有關(guān)的文字、相片和攝影等資料的所有權(quán)和發(fā)布權(quán)屬于大賽組委會。

2、本次活動的解釋權(quán)歸大賽組委會。
