mr.chairman, senator thurmond, members of the committee, my name is anita f.hill, and i am a professor of law at the university of oklahoma.i was born on a farm in okmulgee county, oklahoma, in 1956.i am the youngest of 13 children.i had my early education in okmulgee county.my father, albert hill, is a farmer in that area.my mother's name is irma hill.she is also a farmer and a housewife.my childhood was one of a lot of hard work and not much money, but it was one of solid family affection, as represented by my parents.i was reared in a religious atmosphere in the baptist faith, and i have been a member of the antioch baptist church in tulsa, oklahoma, since 1983.it is a very warm part of my life at the present time.for my undergraduate work, i went to oklahoma state university and graduated from there in 1977.i am attaching to this statement a copy of my resume for further details of my education.i graduated from the university with academic honors and proceeded to the yale law school, where i received my jd degree in 1980.upon graduation from law school, i became a practicing lawyer with the washington, dc, firm of ward, hardraker, and ross.in 1981, i was introduced to now judge thomas by a mutual friend.judge thomas told me that he was anticipating a political appointment, and he asked if i would be interested in working with him.he was, in fact, appointed as assistant secretary of education for civil rights.after he had taken that post, he asked if i would become his assistant, and i accepted that position.in my early period there, i had two major projects.the first was an article i wrote for judge thomas' signature on the education of minority students.the second was the organization of a seminar on high-risk students which was abandoned because judge thomas transferred to the eeoc where he became the chairman of that office.during this period at the department of education, my working relationship with judge thomas was positive.i had a good deal of responsibility and independence.i thought he respected my work and that he trusted my judgment.after approximately three months of working there, he asked me to go out socially with him.what happened next and telling the world about it are the two most difficult things--experiences of my life.it is only after a great deal of agonizing consideration and sleeplenumber--a great number of sleeplenights tha(t i amable to talk of these unpleasant matters to anyone but my close friends.i declined the invitation to go out socially with him and explained to him that i thought it would jeopardize what at the time i considered to be a very good working relationship.i had a normal social life with other men outside of the office.i believed then, as now, that having a social relationship with a person who was supervising my work would be ill-advised.i was very uncomfortable with the idea and told him so.i thought that by saying no and explaining my reasons my employer would abandon his social suggestions.however, to my regret, in the following few weeks, he continued to ask me out on several occasions.he pressed me to justify my reasons for saying no to him.these incidents took place in his office or mine.they were in the form of private conversations which would not have been overheard by anyone else.my working relationship became even more strained when judge thomas began to use work situations to discuse-x.on these occasions, he would call me into his office for reports on education issues and projects, or he might suggest that, because of the time pressures of his schedule, we go to lunch to a government cafeteria.after a brief discussion of work, he would turn the conversation to a discussion of se-xual matters.his conversations were very vivid.he spoke about acts that he had seen in pornographic films involving such matters as women having se-x with animals and films showing group se-x or rape scenes.he talked about pornographic materials depicting individuals with large penises or large breasts involved in various se-x acts.on several occasions, thomas told me graphically of his own se-xual prowess.because i was extremely uncomfortable talking about se-x with him at all and particularly in such a graphic way, i told him that i did not want to talk about these subjects.i would also try to change the subject to education matters or to nonse-xual personal matters such as his background or his beliefs.my efforts to change the subject were rarely successful.throughout the period of these conversations, he also from time to time asked me for social engagements.my reaction to these conversations was to avoid them by eliminating opportunities for us to engage in extended conversations.this was difficult because at the time i was his only assistant at the office of education--or of

b、百善孝為先。父母給予我們生命我們?cè)谒麄兊氖┡c中成長、成才、成家立業(yè)。感恩父母就是懂得孝順。孝的源泉就是愛愛是父母與子女之間剪不斷的紐帶。父母之愛是無私的它沉浸在萬物之中充盈于天地之間。們要感恩父母感恩父母把我們哺育成人感恩父母給予我們無私的愛讓我們能在這人世間自由來往。

原來今天是感恩節(jié),昨天才寫些感恩的文字,那是無意識(shí)的,沒想到這么巧合,不過今天又想還要多寫幾段,盡管還要修改重要文件,但還得把心中的話兒說完。
我是教育工作者,自然還要站在教育者的角度去思考這個(gè)問題。記得在今年暑期的思想政治工作研討會(huì)上,我曾提出要加強(qiáng)感恩教育,推進(jìn)和諧校園建設(shè),當(dāng)時(shí)還專作了一個(gè)專題講話,也曾在這里寫過一篇《關(guān)于感恩教育》,現(xiàn)再次舊話重提,老調(diào)重彈。
古人云:“滴水之恩,當(dāng)涌泉相報(bào)”,“知恩不報(bào)非君子”。它教誨世人,當(dāng)我們受恩于人時(shí),切勿忘了感恩。然而,這個(gè)流傳了幾千年的中華民族傳統(tǒng)美德卻日漸為當(dāng)代大學(xué)生所遺忘。一些學(xué)生以自我為中心,漠視寶貴的親情、友情、師生情,從而表現(xiàn)出一定程度的精神“真空”。這種現(xiàn)象折射出長期以來我國感恩教育的缺失。西方有個(gè)感恩節(jié)(thanksgiving day),是感謝上帝給予人類的一切?;酵斤埱皶?huì)做祈禱,感謝上帝給予他們食物。其實(shí)我們也應(yīng)該像虔誠的基督徒一樣心存感恩。我們要提的感恩就是在自己生存和發(fā)展過程中產(chǎn)生過積極作用的人和事物的一種感激與真情回報(bào),對(duì)他人、社會(huì)和自然給予自己帶來的恩惠和方便在心里產(chǎn)生認(rèn)可并意欲回饋的一種認(rèn)識(shí)、情感和行為。馬克思指出:人是一切社會(huì)關(guān)系的總和。個(gè)體的生存和發(fā)展離不開他人和社會(huì)。在我國傳統(tǒng)的倫理觀念中也特別注重知恩圖報(bào)、禮尚往來,對(duì)于忘恩負(fù)義、恩將仇報(bào)之人都是深惡痛絕。所以,感恩也是人的職責(zé)和使命,是社會(huì)上每個(gè)人都應(yīng)該有的基本道德素質(zhì),是文明社會(huì)最基本的道德準(zhǔn)則,是做人起碼的修養(yǎng),是人性善的反映。每個(gè)人只有懂得感恩,才能懂得尊重他人,發(fā)現(xiàn)自我價(jià)值。作為一個(gè)接受教育而又仍處于消費(fèi)者角色的學(xué)生學(xué)會(huì)感恩也就顯得更為重要。
感恩教育是教育者運(yùn)用一定的教育手段和方法,對(duì)受教育者有目的、有步驟地實(shí)施的識(shí)恩、知恩、感恩、報(bào)恩以至于施恩的人文教育,是一種以情動(dòng)情的情感教育,是一種以德報(bào)德的道德教育,更是一種以人性喚起人性的人性教育。感恩說明一個(gè)人對(duì)自己與他人、社會(huì)的關(guān)系有著正確的認(rèn)識(shí);報(bào)恩,則是在這種正確認(rèn)識(shí)之下產(chǎn)生的一種對(duì)國家、民族和人民的責(zé)任感。這是感恩教育的基本意義??梢哉f,在宏觀上看,感恩意識(shí)是維系我們傳統(tǒng)人情社會(huì)的一種紐帶,而對(duì)于個(gè)人而言,感恩教育又有著不可低估的價(jià)值。一個(gè)人如果不知道感恩并以實(shí)際行動(dòng)來報(bào)答他人和社會(huì)的恩情的話,那他就不是一個(gè)人格完整的、心靈健康的人。當(dāng)然,感恩并非人的天性,需要感恩教育的點(diǎn)撥。在物質(zhì)利益越來越突出的今天,在 物質(zhì)財(cái)富也越來越豐富的今天,在凡事都講求一個(gè)“利”字的今天,生活的壓力、工作的壓力、個(gè)人利益的看重,人與人之間的心理距離似乎越來越大了。很多人開始變得冷漠和健忘,不惜為了眼前利益而放棄包括感恩心在內(nèi)的很多珍貴之物。因而,人們的心靈便在許多時(shí)候得不到足夠的慰藉。在這種情況下,實(shí)施感恩教育有助于人們擺脫對(duì)金錢的一味追求,有助于人們?nèi)烁竦娜娑】档陌l(fā)展,有助于喚起人的感恩心和感恩情。由此可見,實(shí)施感恩教育是幫助人樹立正確的世界觀、人生觀和價(jià)值觀的重要途徑和手段,也是學(xué)校加強(qiáng)德育教育工作的重要內(nèi)容。
首先,我們要教育學(xué)生對(duì)父母的養(yǎng)育應(yīng)懷有感恩之心。我們每個(gè)人從出生那一天起,就無時(shí)無刻不在享受著父母的愛。在我們的成長過程中,給予我們愛最多的便是父母。因此,我們首先要感恩父母。對(duì)父母的養(yǎng)育,我們應(yīng)心存無盡的感恩與報(bào)答之情。如果連父母養(yǎng)育之恩也漠然置之,又如何能感受到來自他人的關(guān)愛、來自社會(huì)的體恤、來自自然的賞賜。
其次,我們要教育學(xué)生對(duì)師長的教誨應(yīng)有感恩之意。隨著全社會(huì)的精神文明水平的不斷提高,尊重教師已成為尊重知識(shí)、尊重人才、尊重科學(xué)的重要表現(xiàn)。然而,在校園里,無故曠課,課間不擦黑板、上課不遵守課堂紀(jì)律已不是個(gè)別現(xiàn)象;有些同學(xué)見了老師擦肩而過不打招呼,如同陌路人;對(duì)老師的輔導(dǎo)答疑,連句“謝謝老師”都不會(huì)說的學(xué)生并不鮮見;更有甚者還對(duì)老師的教育管理不滿不服而與老師大吵大鬧??傊?,感恩教育的缺乏,感恩意識(shí)的缺失,帶來教師的付出得不到認(rèn)可和尊重等不和諧現(xiàn)象比目皆是。在學(xué)生的成長中,無不凝結(jié)著教師的辛勤勞動(dòng)。今天的學(xué)生更應(yīng)該像毛澤東當(dāng)年尊重、感激徐特立那樣,尊重、感激自己的老師,學(xué)會(huì)尊重老師的人格、尊重老師的勞動(dòng)及尊重老師的創(chuàng)造。
再次,我們要教育學(xué)生對(duì)社會(huì)的救助應(yīng)存有感恩之情。一位哲人說過,世界上最大的悲劇或不幸,就是一個(gè)人大言不慚地說沒有人給我任何東西。中華民族是一個(gè)具有感恩優(yōu)良傳統(tǒng)的國家。學(xué)生更應(yīng)懂得“飲水思源,知恩圖報(bào)”、“滴水之恩,涌泉相報(bào)”這些經(jīng)典詩句的真正涵義。xx年,人民日?qǐng)?bào)華東新聞一則“月月領(lǐng)取救助款,從不寫信給恩人,這些大學(xué)生要補(bǔ)道德課”的消息報(bào)道說,自1996年夏開始,經(jīng)《福州晚報(bào)》牽線搭橋,得以圓了大學(xué)夢(mèng)的逾千名學(xué)子,已有近400人完成學(xué)業(yè),但這中間只有不到一成的學(xué)生與資助者有過信件往來,表達(dá)過感激之情,寫過兩封信的不足lo人。我們部份學(xué)生只知道受恩,并沒有知恩感恩,反而還有不滿情緒,既不認(rèn)真學(xué)習(xí),積極工作,還經(jīng)常給學(xué)校和社會(huì)的管理添亂搗亂。
在現(xiàn)實(shí)中,無論是一個(gè)人,還是一個(gè)民族,誰個(gè)不曾施恩,誰個(gè)不曾受恩。“施恩勿念,受恩勿忘”,永遠(yuǎn)是我們的處世情懷。二戰(zhàn)期間。上海市民曾冒著生命危險(xiǎn)保護(hù)了一千多名猶 太難民免遭法西斯殺害,為了教育一代又一代以色列人不忘中國人民的大恩大德,以色列政府把這個(gè)歷史事實(shí)寫進(jìn)了他們的中小學(xué)公民教育讀本。還有,韓國小學(xué)生胸前都掛著一個(gè)“孝行牌”。牌的正面有父母像,背面有孝敬父母的格言與規(guī)定,學(xué)校要求學(xué)生每天對(duì)照“孝行牌”默想自己做得怎么樣。以色列和韓國的這種感恩教育讓人欽佩,更促人深思。其實(shí),每個(gè)人無時(shí)無刻不在接受來自各方面的恩惠,國家有恩于我們,社會(huì)有恩于我們,大自然有恩于我們,周圍的人也有恩于我們。每個(gè)學(xué)生都應(yīng)擁有一顆感恩的心,學(xué)會(huì)感恩,學(xué)會(huì)做人,努力塑造完美人生,努力把孝心留給父母,把關(guān)心留給他人,把愛心獻(xiàn)給社會(huì),把忠心留給祖國,把信心留給自己。不難想象,一個(gè)人如果連自己的父母都不關(guān)心、對(duì)教導(dǎo)自己的老師都不在意、對(duì)自己的恩人都不感激,何談今后關(guān)心民生、貢獻(xiàn)社會(huì)?一名合格的學(xué)生,無疑要具備一定的綜合素質(zhì),這其中既包括基本的專業(yè)知識(shí)和技能,更需要具備一顆感恩的心及完善的人格。擁有一顆感恩的心,我們才會(huì)懂得回報(bào)父母的養(yǎng)育之恩;擁有一顆感恩的心,我們才會(huì)懂得珍惜老師的啟蒙、教育之恩;擁有一顆感恩的心,我們才會(huì)體會(huì)國家、社會(huì)與他人的資助之恩。也只有這樣,我們的學(xué)生才會(huì)認(rèn)真地學(xué)習(xí),積極地工作,愉快地生活。
多年來,我們的教育更多地是在關(guān)注升學(xué)率和就業(yè)率,教學(xué)成績(jī)成了學(xué)校的唯一追求,甚至主宰著學(xué)校的生存和發(fā)展。在這一價(jià)值取向的影響下,育人變得更加微不足道,感恩教育很難實(shí)質(zhì)性地進(jìn)人中學(xué)教育教學(xué)范圍。學(xué)生在考入大學(xué)后,又將重心放在專業(yè)技能的掌握和學(xué)術(shù)理論的研究上,關(guān)心最多的是就業(yè)問題。一些學(xué)校過于注重教育的功利性,而忽略了教育的育人功能。學(xué)生自私自利、缺乏修養(yǎng)、情感冷漠,這與學(xué)校德育落實(shí)不夠,尤其是忽視感恩教育有關(guān)。感恩教育本來應(yīng)該成為學(xué)校德育的一項(xiàng)重要內(nèi)容,但普遍的情形是感恩教育在小學(xué)、中學(xué)、大學(xué)校園中被忽略甚至被遺忘了,這對(duì)學(xué)生健康成長和全面發(fā)展是極為不利的。既然小、中學(xué)感恩教育沒有落到實(shí)處,高校德育理應(yīng)補(bǔ)上感恩教育這一課。教育必須以學(xué)生的“成人”為出發(fā)點(diǎn),讓學(xué)生“成才先成人”,努力培養(yǎng)“有德又有才”的接班人。
我們還要教會(huì)學(xué)生施恩不圖報(bào)。施恩不圖報(bào)是感恩教育的最高境界。一個(gè)人不僅應(yīng)當(dāng)知恩圖報(bào),還應(yīng)當(dāng)抱著慈悲的心理去幫助自己身邊那些需要幫助的人,即施恩。施恩是人的高級(jí)情感的需要,更是社會(huì)文明的表現(xiàn)。施恩的前提是不圖報(bào)的,否則,施恩者就不會(huì)心情愉快地去幫助別人了。只有達(dá)到了施恩不圖報(bào)的境界,才能真正地?fù)碛懈呱械牡男拍詈推犯瘛?/p>
感恩是對(duì)自我價(jià)值的一種超越。人的價(jià)值包括自我價(jià)值與社會(huì)價(jià)值。自我價(jià)值是社會(huì)對(duì)個(gè)人的尊重與滿足,而社會(huì)價(jià)值則是個(gè)人對(duì)社會(huì)的責(zé)任與貢獻(xiàn)。我們要幫助學(xué)生克服依賴思想和寄生心理,讓其樹立自立意識(shí)和責(zé)任觀念。給學(xué)生創(chuàng)造自立的機(jī)會(huì),通過自立的實(shí)踐,他才會(huì)體驗(yàn)生活的艱難,懂得珍惜;才會(huì)懂得理解、尊重和同情他人;才會(huì)明白自己應(yīng)該 做些什么,能夠做些什么;才會(huì)由衷地感激自己的父母、老師和周圍關(guān)心他的人。我們還要幫助學(xué)生克服自我中心主義,培養(yǎng)推己及人的思維方式。他希望別人怎樣對(duì)待自己,首先就怎樣對(duì)待別人。只有設(shè)身處地地為他人著想。將心比心,他才會(huì)理解、同情和尊重別人。有了對(duì)他人的理解、同情和尊重,才會(huì)懂得為什么要學(xué)會(huì)感恩以及如何感激和回報(bào)他人,才會(huì)懂得人與人之間的差距是客觀存在的,不能盲目攀比,才會(huì)懂得為什么我們不能選擇家庭出身,只能選擇回報(bào)。
在學(xué)校,在家庭,在很多合適場(chǎng)合,我們可以更多的講述與感恩有關(guān)傳統(tǒng)故事。故事可以是身邊的人,身邊的事,也可以是傳統(tǒng)的故事,如《二十四孝》中的孟宗“哭竹”、王詳“臥冰”、庾黔“嘗穢” 的故事,還有“割股療親”、《羊羔跪乳》、《烏鴉反哺》、《陳毅探母》、《吃水不忘挖井人》等;我們可以引導(dǎo)學(xué)習(xí)與感恩有關(guān)經(jīng)典文學(xué)作品,如:漢代李密的《陳情表》、朱自清的《背影》、朱德的《回憶我的母親》等等,雖然有些作品是大家在中學(xué)時(shí)已學(xué)過的課文,但完全有必要去重溫作者的思想意景;我們還可以開展專題感恩教育文娛活動(dòng)。學(xué)校和學(xué)生團(tuán)體可以組織編排一些相聲、小品、話劇等,當(dāng)然,還可以要求學(xué)生每人學(xué)唱一首歌,如彭麗媛的《報(bào)答》、郁鈞劍的《母親》、戴玉強(qiáng)的《兒行千里母擔(dān)憂》、毛阿敏的《燭光里的媽媽》等等,開展專題感恩教育文藝演出。
在感恩的校園環(huán)境和教育氛圍中,我們一定可以對(duì)許多事情都平心靜氣,一定可以認(rèn)真、務(wù)實(shí)地從最細(xì)小的一件事做起,一定可以自發(fā)地真正做到嚴(yán)于律已、寬以待人,一定可以正視錯(cuò)誤,互相幫助,和睦相處,一定可以大力推進(jìn)和加快和諧校園的建設(shè)。
