Old Computers Make for Unhappy Workers Survey說明本篇報道的主題就是陳舊電腦設備導致工人不滿,并告知讀者這是一份調(diào)查報告。

第三段最后一句話“Miss Germaine's mother looked anxious?and Mr Cordell's parents?be less than delighted.”

Two Strangers and a Wedding。答案為A。

答案為A。

答案為A。 從最后一段第一句話“His secret for a long and healthy life has been well publicized—no alcohol, no cigarette and no anger.”

A選項中的單程車費應是5先令,從第二段“There was a trip to the White City?return from Swansea”,其中“return”是往返的意思。 從老人所說的話“I'm glad to see they've given me a return ticket.” 答案為A。

答案為A。

Passage 5(’00·全國·A篇)【解析】文中第二段說“There were twelve of us.But no one panicked,we passed the time elling stories and playing word games.” 癟he place was full—and all night.”答案為C。

Big gest power failure?.”到“The big electric ticking?started ticking again at 5∶25 this morning”,可以算出答案為A。

By Li Hua, School Newspaper 【

A My color television has given me nothing but a headache.I was able to buy it a little over a year ago because I had my relatives give me money for my birthday instead of clothes that wouldn’t fit.I let a salesclerk fool me into buying a discontinued model.I realized this a day later, when I saw newspaper advertisements for the set at seventy-five dollars less than I had paid. The set worked so beautiful when I first got it home that I would keep it on until stations signed off for the night.Fortunately, I didn’t get any channels showing all-night movies or I would never have gotten to bed. Then I started developing a problem with the set that involved static(靜電)noise. For some reason, when certain shows switched into a commercial, a loud noise would sound for a few seconds.Gradually, this noise began to appear during a show, and to get rid of it, I had to change to another channel and then change it back.Sometimes this technique would not work, and I had to pick up the set and shake it to remove the sound.I actually began to build up my arm muscles(肌肉)shaking my set. When neither of these methods removed the static noise, I would sit helplessly and wait for the noise to go away.At last I ended up hitting the set with my first, and it stopped working altogether. My trip to the repair shop cost me $62, and the sit is working well now, but I keep expecting more trouble.21.Why did the author say he was fooled into buying the TV set? 這里是“如此喜歡以至于”的意思,應該是:like so much that?.74.looks改為looking after之后跟從句或v-ing形式,故looks改為looking。

      75.where改為that 或者去掉 where found后面的賓語從句是陳述句,故where改為that或者去掉where。

      77.telling改為told and前后的謂語動詞時態(tài)要一致,see和tell是并列謂語,故telling改為told。

      78.a改為the 由上下文可知,此處shop是第二次出現(xiàn),應該用定冠詞,故a改為the。
