英語四級考試的寫作策略

新題型英語四級考試要求學(xué)生在30分鐘內(nèi)寫出120—150詞的短文或者日常應(yīng)用文（如信函、簡歷等）。筆者根據(jù)近幾年的大學(xué)英語四級考試的考綱和評分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)認(rèn)為，學(xué)生的英語寫作是有規(guī)律可循的，采用正確的訓(xùn)練教學(xué)策略，能夠幫助學(xué)生解決所遇到的問題，提高他們的寫作技能水平。這就要求教師能夠以“文章切題，條理清楚，語言準(zhǔn)確”等作為訓(xùn)練的依據(jù)，激活學(xué)生寫作的內(nèi)驅(qū)動力。

1.學(xué)生英語寫作中存在的不足

1.1文章缺少一定的整體連貫思維。

大學(xué)英語寫作一般都提供一些引導(dǎo)句和核心提示點(diǎn)。對此，很多學(xué)生認(rèn)為這就是寫作的關(guān)鍵句，只要照著這樣的提示進(jìn)行直譯式的寫作就一定能夠得到較好的分?jǐn)?shù)。其實(shí)這樣的寫法只是語句的翻譯拼湊，缺少一定的內(nèi)部思維，也就難以凸顯文章應(yīng)有的連貫性了。

1.2文章內(nèi)容平淡。

“文似看山不喜平”，英語更是如此，文章內(nèi)容除了來自寫作的核心提示外，還應(yīng)該穿插一些與此相關(guān)的名言警句和俗語俚語。這樣的寫作方式，不僅能夠體現(xiàn)西方人語言幽默的特點(diǎn)，還能夠比較直觀地展示作者的寫作知識素養(yǎng)。學(xué)生往往在這方面的能力有所欠缺。

1.3文章句式變換不夠靈活。

英語寫作需要一定的時態(tài)、從句、虛擬語氣等眾多句式組合而成。學(xué)生在寫作過程中受自身的知識和時間等方面的影響，在句式變化上未能深入地思考，以致出現(xiàn)行文呆板、不夠靈活等特征，難以真正達(dá)到四級考試寫作方面的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)要求。

2.解決上述問題的策略

2.1審題列提綱，注意理清文章的脈絡(luò)。

在英語四級考試中，審題是核心。一般在四級考試中，作文都給出了簡短的中文提綱，寫作時一定要按提綱的要求寫，提綱叫怎么寫，就怎么寫。我們要把提綱看成是幾個簡答題，一個題目用一個段落來回答，這樣，作文就會段落清楚，有明顯的開頭、主體和結(jié)論部分。寫的過程中也不會為分段大傷腦筋，更不會像記流水帳一樣一段到底，從而給閱卷老師留下很好的印象。同時在文章寫作過程中，一定要學(xué)會使用一些句子之間，以及引起和結(jié)束文章時候的連接詞，這樣可以使文章更自然、流暢。

例如，我們以2006年12月試題為例講述如何審題和列提綱。Directions：For this part，you are allowed 30 minutes to writea short essay entitled Spring Festival Gala on CCTV.You shouldwrite at least 120 words following the outline given below：許多人喜歡在除夕觀看春節(jié)晚會；有些人提出取消春節(jié)晚會；我的看法。上述材料信息告訴我們，在審題時一定要抓住“春晚”這個文眼，認(rèn)真地進(jìn)行謀篇布局。同時，在列提綱時，應(yīng)該列出喜歡看春晚的理由、取消的原因，以及自己的觀點(diǎn)。特別是作者的觀點(diǎn)應(yīng)該體現(xiàn)出全面性和獨(dú)特性，這是獲得高分的關(guān)鍵之處。

2.2制造語言亮點(diǎn)，彰顯文章特色。

我們在閱讀經(jīng)典文章時發(fā)現(xiàn)，一篇優(yōu)秀的文章往往離不開一些語言亮點(diǎn)的支撐。這些語言亮點(diǎn)其實(shí)就是文章的血液，突出了文章的亮點(diǎn)，也就是展現(xiàn)了作者的寫作基本功。

筆者以為，可按照文章類型制造語言亮點(diǎn)。四級作文一般有下面三種結(jié)構(gòu)：說明文、議論文和應(yīng)用文寫作。說明文主要可以分為闡述主題類型、利弊類型、原因結(jié)果類型、解決問題類型及諺語說明類型；議論文主要是就觀點(diǎn)進(jìn)行反駁類型的；應(yīng)用文寫作主要包括演講詞、求職求學(xué)信、邀請信、感謝信和投訴信等。在每一種類型中寫上一兩句亮點(diǎn)語言，定會有意想不到的收獲。

2.3背誦一些寫作套路句，以便應(yīng)急。

很多的考試專家在總結(jié)考試的經(jīng)驗(yàn)時，往往將一些現(xiàn)成的別人的經(jīng)驗(yàn)作為應(yīng)付考試的一種方法。筆者在教學(xué)實(shí)踐中也認(rèn)為這樣的方法有可借鑒之處，一方面，能夠減少因思考不充分而帶來的“虎頭蛇尾”的尷尬結(jié)局，另一方面，能夠節(jié)省寫作時間。

這些寫作套路主要有： ①觀點(diǎn)句：Some people take it forgranted that...However，others hold that...As for as I am concerned，that I am in favor for the second view.②優(yōu)缺點(diǎn)句：Generally，the advantages can be listed as follows.Firstly...Besides...Mostimportant of all...But every coin has tow sides.The negative aspectsare else apparent.③開頭句： Recently，the problem of...hasaroused people’s concern.It is commonly believed that.../It is acommon belief that...④結(jié)尾句：Taking into account all these factors，we may reasonably come to the conclusion that...3.英語寫作的幾點(diǎn)思考

3.1注意平時詞匯的積累。

在學(xué)習(xí)的過程中，一定要養(yǎng)成記憶單詞的良好習(xí)慣。記單詞不能光記它的表面意思，而應(yīng)深入了解它的適用語境、常用搭配、習(xí)慣用法等，這樣才算真正掌握了一個詞。

3.2注意背誦一些精彩的名言名句。

筆者以為，對一些精彩的句子應(yīng)摘抄下來，熟讀成誦，并有意識地將它們應(yīng)用到自己的習(xí)作中，以體現(xiàn)自身的英語知識素養(yǎng)。

3.3注意一些修辭的恰當(dāng)運(yùn)用。

在寫作過程中，運(yùn)用一些像比喻、夸張等修辭手法，不僅能夠使文章倍感生動形象，還能夠體現(xiàn)出“中西合璧”的特色。綜上所言，在英語四級考試中，按照考綱的寫作要求，注意寫作過程和方法的訓(xùn)練，圍繞寫作重點(diǎn)，掌握規(guī)律性，突出規(guī)范性，強(qiáng)化長期性，就一定能夠幫助學(xué)生提高寫作的技能。

一.四級考試對寫作的要求

《大學(xué)英語教學(xué)大綱》和《大學(xué)英語課程教學(xué)基本要求》都對培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的英語寫作能力做了明確規(guī)定，即學(xué)生能在半小時內(nèi)完成120字左右的短文，包括書信等應(yīng)用問題寫作，要求文理基本通順，表達(dá)思想清楚，無重大語法錯誤。通過分析歷年的真題，我們不難發(fā)現(xiàn)：英語作文考查的類型基本包括議論文(一般為三段論式的論說文字)，說明文(目前側(cè)重于這方面的寫作訓(xùn)練)，圖表作文(要求描述性的語言要貼近圖表信息，真實(shí)反映語言水平)和應(yīng)用文寫作(包括書信、便條、通知、海報(bào)等)。

二.四級改革和寫作變化

2005年1月的作文題目是要求學(xué)生以導(dǎo)游的身份寫一篇演講稿，不僅包含歡迎辭(表態(tài))行程安排，(說明)，而且包含安排的理由(說理)。2005年6月作文題目是校園文化旅游，要求學(xué)生就此闡述不同的觀點(diǎn)。2006年1月是個競選演說，如果我當(dāng)選學(xué)生會主席，我會給大家做點(diǎn)什么事情(說明)。2006年6月17日的四級考試則是一個海報(bào)，要求考生構(gòu)想一個招募志愿者的海報(bào)，其中包括應(yīng)聘人必備的資歷和應(yīng)準(zhǔn)備的材料等(說明)。2006年6月24日新題型的作文是傳統(tǒng)的議論文形式，討論大學(xué)生選擇任課老師相關(guān)的問題。2007年1月作文也是傳統(tǒng)的議論文形式，探討對春節(jié)晚會所持的不同觀點(diǎn)。2007年6月份是歡迎同學(xué)加入俱樂部的海報(bào)(應(yīng)用文)。

從上面的題目變化趨勢看，描述現(xiàn)象、分析原因、個人看法仍是四、六級考試寫作部分主要考查的重點(diǎn)，在今后相當(dāng)長的時間內(nèi)，英語寫作教學(xué)和輔導(dǎo)的主要突破口應(yīng)集中在說明文、議論文和應(yīng)用文上。

此外，仔細(xì)研究06年6月24日以后的四級試卷，我們還可發(fā)現(xiàn)，新四級的寫作題目與校園生活密切相關(guān)，學(xué)生普遍感覺親切，體裁包括兩篇議論文，一篇應(yīng)用文。不僅如此，新四級寫作題中提供的文章框架清晰，思路比較明確，絕大多數(shù)考生都能利用“經(jīng)典句型”或“萬能模板”寫出及格的作文。盡管新四級前兩次都考查了議論文，但這并不能說明寫作的重心有任何偏移。根據(jù)考試改革方案和課程教學(xué)要求的相關(guān)規(guī)定，應(yīng)用文寫作、說明文和議論文仍將是新四級作文的主攻方向。

三.四級寫作高分策略

新四級考試并沒有改變對寫作的測試標(biāo)準(zhǔn)和要求，但在出題順序上卻做了明顯的調(diào)整：寫作作為第一項(xiàng)考查的內(nèi)容，被提到新四級試卷的最開頭，這令許多考生感覺不適應(yīng)，部分網(wǎng)友甚至認(rèn)為這是在折騰考生。其實(shí)，提高寫作能力雖然較難，但寫作教學(xué)卻是一片大有可為的沃土。在過去十多年的英語寫作輔導(dǎo)中，筆者堅(jiān)持認(rèn)為：考生如果堅(jiān)持做到如下幾點(diǎn)，就不難在規(guī)定的時間內(nèi)寫出一篇成功的英語作文。

1.了解英語寫作的測試目的，準(zhǔn)確把握題目的要求

英語寫作測試，其實(shí)主要還是要考查學(xué)生組織英語語言的能力，和用英語表達(dá)思想的能力，體裁不外乎議論文，說明文和應(yīng)用文，主題也是在大學(xué)生熟知話題基礎(chǔ)上的翻新或擴(kuò)展。綜觀歷年的四級作文真題，變化趨勢是從三段論的議論文向?qū)嵱眯愿鼜?qiáng)的應(yīng)用文體，尤其是書信寫作方面傾斜。考生平時應(yīng)有意識地就他們感興趣的一些話題進(jìn)行思考和拓展，爭取在實(shí)踐中磨練敏銳的審題能力。

2.迅速梳理寫作的思路，列出并借助提綱進(jìn)行寫作

到了大學(xué)階段，學(xué)生還是非常善于思考的，他們不僅想象力非常豐富，晚上做夢，還經(jīng)常daydream, 各有獨(dú)特的思維和寫作思路。但是，如何將千頭萬緒的思路梳理清楚，學(xué)生則必須有真工夫。為此，在進(jìn)行四級寫作時，考生一定要首先形成自己的觀點(diǎn)，之后合理運(yùn)用一些手段，如常用的有四種：陳述理由、舉例說明、提供數(shù)據(jù)、下定義等，之后充分就此展開論說。這樣通過高效思考，嚴(yán)密組織，再輔以提綱形式的文章架構(gòu)，考生一定會寫出較符合規(guī)范的文章。

3.擴(kuò)展寫作提綱，草擬文稿，表述主要觀點(diǎn)

在利用提綱展示個人寫作思路的基礎(chǔ)上，學(xué)生還應(yīng)充分利用現(xiàn)有的英語水平，按照一定的邏輯思路，充分表達(dá)個人的觀點(diǎn)。寫作之初，學(xué)生不必字斟句酌，只要脈絡(luò)清楚，具備輪廓就可以了。草擬文章的過程實(shí)際是把思維結(jié)果外在化的過程，學(xué)生應(yīng)力爭使文章具有連貫性和流暢性。草擬過程的順利與否，在很大程度上取決于平時訓(xùn)練所達(dá)到的水平。許多考生畏懼作文，經(jīng)常懶于動筆；還有一些考生認(rèn)為寫作很難提高，干脆放棄平時的訓(xùn)練。這些想法都是錯誤的。為真正提高寫作水平，筆者建議大家從開始準(zhǔn)備四級的那天起，就應(yīng)有針對性地分體裁、分話題、分階段地進(jìn)行實(shí)戰(zhàn)模擬，強(qiáng)迫自己一氣呵成將文章寫完，不必追求完美，不必在乎自己的文稿到底語言有多么不地道或出現(xiàn)多少語法錯誤。熟能生巧。只要堅(jiān)持多寫、多練，平時注意擴(kuò)大閱讀，寫作的水平自然就會提高。

4.在反復(fù)揣摩的基礎(chǔ)上，完善文章的草稿

自己修改作文是個好習(xí)慣，從訓(xùn)練之初就應(yīng)注重在這個方面下功夫。修改作文必須從下面幾個方面把握：注意句式結(jié)構(gòu)的變化(要背誦一定的經(jīng)典句型，而且要能夠注意套改這樣的優(yōu)美句型)。例如：Not because I love Caesar less, but because I love Rome more(不是我不愛凱撒，而是我更愛羅馬)。需要指出的是，雖然習(xí)作中應(yīng)注意使用優(yōu)美或地道的句子，但不可簡單地堆砌；句子長短也要錯落有致，應(yīng)包含一些相對復(fù)雜的句式，同時避免犯一些基礎(chǔ)性的語言錯誤。

另外，學(xué)生還要注意文中運(yùn)用的英語表達(dá)必須是簡單且地道的(即easy but right

English)。實(shí)際上，所謂這類的表達(dá)法界于詞匯與句子之間，可稱為語匯(英語中可用chunk來表達(dá))。為了提高書面語言表達(dá)的地道性，學(xué)生應(yīng)經(jīng)常記憶這樣的語匯，如an effective

system for environmental protection和an effective system to protect the

environment等。筆者在此處提出這個概念，且希望同學(xué)們加強(qiáng)這方面語匯的記憶，是因?yàn)樘嗟闹袊忌?jīng)常使用漢語的語法、英語的單詞來組合一些中式(chinglish)表達(dá)。例如：高手(high hand)地道的英語表達(dá)是master hand;老手(old hand)地道的英語表達(dá)則是

seasoned hand；能手(can hand)的地道表達(dá)則是skillful hand, 以及you go me go, you no go me no go 等。

至于如何做到語言表達(dá)地道，筆者認(rèn)為只有一種辦法，那就是大量閱讀，分類摘抄，在具體的語境中有針對性地體驗(yàn)英語表達(dá)。

5.正確把握遣詞造句的原則

正確選擇詞匯非常重要，考生切不可盲目地追求大詞、生詞。其實(shí)，四級作文要求考生選詞范圍盡可能靈活寬泛，但非常忌諱以辭害義，如果能夠用decrease，就別用plummet(也是下降的意思)。那么考生到底怎樣才能利用有限的詞匯資源，寫出比較鮮活的英語作文呢？筆者在此推薦如下使用詞匯技巧：

(1)盡量使用同義詞避免簡單重復(fù)

如“增加”可用 increase, rise, grow, climb, go up, soar等；“重要”可用 important, critical, vital, significant, crucial等。

(2)盡量使用詞性變化來豐富自己的表達(dá)手段

和漢語一樣，變化詞性也是豐富英語表達(dá)的重要途徑，是學(xué)習(xí)者提高英語水平的重要標(biāo)志。英語學(xué)習(xí)者如果能夠用to voice some different opinions 來替代to give/express some different opinions;或to double/triple 來表示翻倍或增加三倍則會使文章在表達(dá)上更為形象而生動。

(3)盡量使用派生形式來點(diǎn)綴文章亮點(diǎn)

英語的構(gòu)詞特點(diǎn)就是使用前綴、后綴來完成靈活多變的語言特色。例如，it is of great importance／help/use/significance 來替代 it is very

important/significant/helpful/useful 本身就是英語水平的一個綜合展示。另外，考生作文如果能夠出現(xiàn)not unnecessary/not unimportant 來表達(dá)非常重要或者必要，則更能顯示考生的英語功底。

6.靈活運(yùn)用句式變化的規(guī)則

前面也提過，四級作文長度要求不少于120個詞，按考生作文句子的平均長度11個詞估算，一般需要10—12 個句子。在四級作文評分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)里，對于句子長度雖然沒有具體描述和量化給分，但是閱卷老師一般都會給文章里使用正確的長句子加上印象分，也會給錯落有致的句式變化以獎勵分?jǐn)?shù)，如果考生能夠在作文中恰當(dāng)?shù)厥褂靡欢y度的復(fù)雜句子，則更能起到錦上添花的作用。在寫作訓(xùn)練中，考生其實(shí)可以欣賞范文，摘錄名句，改裝結(jié)構(gòu)，模仿使用，直到熟練運(yùn)用。筆者認(rèn)為只要努力，下面的策略可以幫助立志爭取作文高分的學(xué)生可以通過下面的幾個措施來提高作文水平。

(1)欣賞范文，但不要囫圇吞棗式地整篇背誦。準(zhǔn)備一個寫作專用的筆記本，從范文欣賞中摘抄自己喜歡的、老師講評的、值得推薦的句式結(jié)構(gòu)。比如：I love you not because who you are, but because who I am when I am with you.(我愛你，并不是因?yàn)槟闶钦l，而是因?yàn)槲腋阍谝黄饡r的感覺。)Few People today, if any at all, would risk their lives

swimming across the river dominated by flesh-eating crocodiles.(今天已經(jīng)很少有人，如果還有的話，愿意冒生命危險(xiǎn)游過那條鱷魚出沒的河流。), If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.(如果你沒能做計(jì)劃，你就是計(jì)劃著去失敗。)
