20世紀百大英文小說全覽

美國藍燈書屋的《當代文庫》編輯小組于1998年7月間選出了本世紀一百大英文小說。這份排名書單一公布，即引起舉世回響和評論。國內(nèi)媒體雖也報導(dǎo)了這件消息，可惜的是最多僅列出前十大小說的名單而已，一般讀者對全部一百本小說是那些仍未能一窺全貌。筆者在《美國的圖書館》（American Libraries）雜志1998年9月號上看到這份百大小說的名單，乃試著查出其小說作者、書名的中文名稱（以一般有中譯本且有通俗譯名者為優(yōu)先取用原則，如無中譯本，則參考《大英百科全書》、《大美百科全書》及《劍橋百科全書》中之中譯名稱），并加上作者之國籍及出版年代，羅列于后，以供讀者或圖書館參考。百大小說之圈選，爭議難免；然而這畢竟是審視本世紀經(jīng)典小說之一份參考名單。既是英文小說，入選者國籍自以英、美兩國占多數(shù)，愛爾蘭、匈牙利、千里達、印度等皆寥寥充數(shù)而已；然不見加拿大、澳洲等較大的英語系國家之作者入選，倒是遺憾之事。百大書單中，以英國航海作家康拉德（Joseph Conrad）入選四本最多；其他如喬伊斯、福克納、勞倫斯、福斯特、詹姆斯、渥夫各有叁本入選。喬伊斯的《尤里西斯》是第一名，這本書在其他單位選拔的名單（如美國瑞德克里夫出版研習(xí)班的「百大英文小說」及紐約公共圖書館圈選的「世紀之書」等）也都名列前茅，文學(xué)地位似可蓋棺論定。就出版年代而言，出版最早的是1900年的《嘉莉妹妹》和《吉姆爺》；最近的則是1983年的《紫苑草》；1985年以于尚無入選作品，可見文學(xué)作品需要經(jīng)得起時間考驗。本刊前兩期曾連載紐約公共圖書館「世紀之書」名單（175種），再對照本期之百大英文小說，本世紀之經(jīng)典，大約應(yīng)可盡納其中矣！

一.接受業(yè)務(wù)委托

㈠了解和評價審計對象的可審性；

㈡決策是否考慮接受委托；只有在符合下列條件下才能接受委托：

⑴在初步了解業(yè)務(wù)環(huán)境后，CPA應(yīng)當考慮承接該業(yè)務(wù)是否符合獨立性和專業(yè)勝任能力等相關(guān)職業(yè)道德規(guī)范的要求⑵承接鑒證業(yè)務(wù)還應(yīng)當具備下列所有特征①鑒證對象適當；②使用的標準適當且預(yù)期使用者能夠獲取該標準；③CPA能夠獲取充分、適當?shù)淖C據(jù)以支持其結(jié)論；④CPA的結(jié)論以書面報告形式表述，且表述形式與所提供的保證程度相適應(yīng)；⑤該業(yè)務(wù)具有合理的目的。如果鑒證業(yè)務(wù)的工作范圍受到重大限制，或委托人試圖將CPA的名字和鑒證對象不適當?shù)芈?lián)系在一起，財該項業(yè)務(wù)可能不具有合理的目的。
