·詞匯

古今漢語相比較，差別最大的恐怕就詞匯了。

(1)、從詞的結(jié)構(gòu)形式上看，古漢語詞匯以單音節(jié)詞為主，現(xiàn)代漢語詞匯則以從音節(jié)詞為主。了解了這一特點(diǎn)，就要晝避免把文言文中兩個單音節(jié)詞當(dāng)作現(xiàn)代漢語中的一個雙音節(jié)詞來理解。如：“璧有瑕，請指示王”（《史記．廉頗藺相如列傳》）這里的“指示”就不能誤認(rèn)為是“上級對下級或長輩對晚輩說明處理某項(xiàng)問題的原則和方法”，因?yàn)閺膬蓚€人的關(guān)系上看，藺相如既不是秦王的上級，也不可能是秦王的長輩。如果作為兩個單音節(jié)詞來看，就好理解了，“指”是“指出”，“示”是“給......看”，“請批示王”，就是“請（讓我）指出來給大王看”。這樣，文意就貫通了。因此，在遇到與現(xiàn)代漢語雙音詞寫法相同，但作為雙音詞來講又講不通或與上下文文意不貼切的情況，不妨試著當(dāng)作單音詞來解

當(dāng)然，前面說古漢語詞匯以單音節(jié)詞為主，并不等于說古漢語中完全是單音節(jié)詞，實(shí)際上，古漢語中不是有少量的不能拆開的雙音節(jié)詞的。我們不要把這些不能拆開的雙音詞，硬拆成單音詞來理解。文言文中少數(shù)不能拆開的雙音詞大體包括以下幾類：

聯(lián)綿詞 如：猶豫、倉皇、匍匐、窈窕

外來詞 如：單于、可汗、葡萄、琵琶

偏義復(fù)詞 如：存亡、公姥、作息、異同

特定稱謂 如：布衣、社稷、天子、足下

遇到這類詞語，切記不能拆雙為單。

(2)、從內(nèi)容上看，古今詞義的發(fā)展變化則更大。除了日月山川牛羊等一些基本詞匯外，絕大多數(shù)詞語都發(fā)生了變化。這種變化大致有以下四種情況：

第一種，詞義的擴(kuò)大。有些詞的意義，起初包含的范圍狹小，后來范圍擴(kuò)大了。如：“登斯樓也，則有去國懷鄉(xiāng)，憂讒畏饑，滿目蕭然，感極而悲者矣?！保ǚ吨傺汀对狸枠怯洝罚┻@里的“國”指的是“國都”，而現(xiàn)在我們所說的“國”則指的是“國家”，詞義范圍明顯擴(kuò)大。

第二種，詞義的縮小。有些詞的意義，起初包含的范圍較大，后來縮小了。如：“耶娘妻子走相送，塵埃不見咸陽橋?！保ǘ鸥Α侗囆小罚┚渲械摹白印敝傅氖亲优瓤墒悄泻?，也可是女孩。而現(xiàn)在的“子”，則只有“兒子”的意思了。

第三種，詞義的轉(zhuǎn)移。古漢語的一些詞義，隨著歷史的發(fā)展，由原來的意思轉(zhuǎn)變成新的意思。如:“老翁逾墻走，老婦出門看?！保ǘ鸥Α妒纠簟罚┻@里的“走”，是“跑”的意思，而現(xiàn)代漢語中，“走”卻變?yōu)椤靶凶摺绷恕?/p>

第四種，詞語感情色彩的變化。古漢語中的一些詞語，發(fā)展到現(xiàn)在，褒貶色彩發(fā)生了變化。例如：“存者且偷生，死者長已矣?！保ǘ鸥Α妒纠簟罚┚渲小巴怠?，是“暫且”、“茍且”的意思，是中性詞，而在現(xiàn)代漢語中“偷”是“盜竊”的意思，是貶義詞。

一詞多義現(xiàn)象，在現(xiàn)代漢語中較常見，在以單音節(jié)詞為主的文言文中則更為普遍。盡可能多地掌握詞語的多種義項(xiàng)，是學(xué)好文言文的關(guān)鍵。在多義詞的諸多義項(xiàng)中，總有一個最基本的意義，我們稱它為這個詞的本義；這個詞的其他義項(xiàng)，都是由這個本義引申而來的，叫做引申引；有時，一個詞遠(yuǎn)有些義項(xiàng)與本義毫無相干，只是由于同音的緣故，被借作他用而產(chǎn)生，我們稱這種義項(xiàng)為假借義。用打比方的方式形成的詞義則叫比喻義。如：顧：本義是“回頭”，其他如：“看”、“拜訪”、“照顧”、“關(guān)心”、“顧慮”等義項(xiàng)都是由它引申而來的，都是“顧”的引申義?！暗恰保胺炊眱蓚€義項(xiàng)與“回頭”這個本義毫無關(guān)系，只是由于同音產(chǎn)生的假借義。干城：本義是“盾牌和城墻”，后來喻指國家的保衛(wèi)者。用得久了，成為一個固定的詞義，這就成了比喻義。如何確定詞的本義呢？最直接的辦法當(dāng)然是查找工具書?！掇o?！返裙ぞ邥校總€詞的第一個義項(xiàng)往往就是它的本義。在沒有工具書的情況下，可以從以下兩個方面來推斷。第一、是看這個詞諸多義項(xiàng)之間，哪個是引申的起點(diǎn)。還以“顧”為例，在諸多義項(xiàng)中，除了，“但是”、“反而”這兩個假借義外，其他義項(xiàng)的引申關(guān)系是：顧，回頭─>看─>拜訪─>關(guān)心─>思念......。這些義項(xiàng)都是由“回頭”引申而來的，這里面引申的脈絡(luò)是很明顯的。第二、可根據(jù)字形推知本義。漢字的表意性決定了大多數(shù)字意都可從形體上推知。比如這個“顧”字，本是一個形聲字，它的形旁是“頁”。在甲骨文中，這個字寫作“ ”，突出一個人的頭部，凡從“頁”的字，均與頭有關(guān)，如：“頸”、“項(xiàng)”、“額”、“顴”、“頰”都是這樣。因此，我們可以推知“顧”的諸多義項(xiàng)中，“回頭”應(yīng)該是它的本義。

盡管一詞多義在文言文中相當(dāng)普遍，但在具體的語言環(huán)境中，一個詞卻只能有一個義項(xiàng)。要確定一個詞在某句話中的具體意義，就要根據(jù)上下文來判斷了。在詞語的分類上，古今漢語基本是相同的，都分成實(shí)詞、虛詞兩大類，只不過古漢語習(xí)慣上把代詞歸入虛詞類。學(xué)習(xí)實(shí)詞，要掌握教材后面常見文言實(shí)詞總表上列舉的365個實(shí)詞的多種意義和用法，學(xué)習(xí)虛詞則要求從兼類情況多和用法靈活的角度掌握32個常用虛詞。綜上所述，詞匯部分古今差別大，包含內(nèi)容多，并且掌握的準(zhǔn)確與否又直接影響到對文意的理解，因此，可以說詞匯部分是文言文學(xué)習(xí)的靈魂。
