This morning, President Obama and I had the in-depth exchanges of views on China-US relations and international and regional issues of common interests.And we reached an important agreement.We agreed that our two counties should increase contacts at the talk, and other levels, strengthen particular mutual trust through dialogue and communications, intensify exchanges and cooperation in whole fields and step up communication and coordination on international and regional issues.We agreed, that the two counties should respect each other’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and development interests, properly handle differences and frictions, and work together to build a China-US cooperative partnership, based on mutual respect, and mutual benefits.回顧往昔，中美建交三十二年走過(guò)來(lái)的不平凡歷程表明，兩國(guó)的共同利益遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)大于分歧，互利合作始終是兩國(guó)關(guān)系主流，這堅(jiān)定了我們推動(dòng)中美關(guān)系發(fā)展的信心。展望未來(lái)，中美兩國(guó)都面臨著保持經(jīng)濟(jì)平穩(wěn)發(fā)展和實(shí)現(xiàn)經(jīng)濟(jì)轉(zhuǎn)型的艱巨任務(wù)，都需要應(yīng)對(duì)經(jīng)濟(jì)全球化帶來(lái)的各種挑戰(zhàn)。這增強(qiáng)了我們加強(qiáng)合作的需要和意愿。

China-US relation has travelled an extraordinary journey, in the past 32 years since the establishment of diplomatic tights.A review of the history of our relations shows that we have far more common interests than differences, and corporation for mutual benefits has always been the main stream of our relations.This has reinforced our confidence in further pushing forward our relationship, Today, both China and the United States are confronted with the tasks of sustaining steady economic growth and achieving economic transformation and we both need to tackle the various challenges brought by economic globalization.This has added to our meet and desire to enhance cooperation.我們要以更加堅(jiān)定的信念，更加寬廣的視野，更加積極的行動(dòng)，腳踏實(shí)地，銳意進(jìn)取，充分挖掘兩國(guó)合作潛力，不斷開創(chuàng)中美關(guān)系發(fā)展新局面。我相信，在雙方的共同努力下，中美合作伙伴關(guān)系一定能夠取得豐碩的成果，更好地造福兩國(guó)人民。為世界和平與發(fā)展的崇高事業(yè)作出新的，更大的貢獻(xiàn)。

But we also know that not every journalist, or photographer, or crewmember is so fortunate, because even as we celebrate the free press tonight, our thoughts are with those in places around the globe like Ukraine, and Afghanistan, and Syria, and Egypt, who risk everything — in some cases, even give their lives — to report the news.And what tonight also reminds us is that the fight for full and fair access goes beyond the chance to ask a question.As Steve mentioned, decades ago, an African American who wanted to cover his or her President might be barred from journalism school, burdened by Jim Crow, and, once in Washington, banned from press conferences.But after years of effort, black editors and publishers began meeting with FDR’s press secretary, Steve Early.And then they met with the President himself, who declared that a black reporter would get a credential.And even when Harry McAlpin made history as the first African American to attend a presidential news conference, he wasn’t always welcomed by the other reporters.But he was welcomed by the President, who told him, I’m glad to see you, McAlpin, and I’m very happy to have you here.今晚還提醒我們，為全面而公平的采訪權(quán)的戰(zhàn)斗，不只是提問(wèn)的機(jī)會(huì)而已。正如Steve所說(shuō)，幾十年前，黑人記者若想報(bào)道總統(tǒng)新聞，可能會(huì)被新聞學(xué)校開除。受到吉姆?克勞法的壓迫【谷大白話注：種族隔離的法規(guī)】，還曾經(jīng)被華府禁止出席新聞發(fā)布會(huì)，但是經(jīng)過(guò)多年努力，黑人編輯和出版人接觸，羅斯福的新聞秘書Stephen Early，之后他們跟總統(tǒng)本人會(huì)面，總統(tǒng)宣布授予黑人記者報(bào)道的權(quán)力。雖然Harry McAlpin創(chuàng)造歷史，成為首位出席總統(tǒng)新聞發(fā)布會(huì)的黑人記者，但其他同行對(duì)他并不歡迎。
