CRV—“城市多功能休閑車”，這應(yīng)該是目前對CRV的準確定義。說到復(fù)雜路面的行駛，就必須要明白CRV的四輪驅(qū)動。CRV的四輪驅(qū)動全稱是雙泵式實（適）時四輪驅(qū)動系統(tǒng)（英文：Dual Pump System REAL TIME 4WD）,1995年由本田獨創(chuàng)的黏性耦合實（適）時四輪驅(qū)動（Viscous Coupling RealTime 4WD）發(fā)展而來。準確說來CRV的四輪驅(qū)動不是傳統(tǒng)意義上硬派越野車的四輪驅(qū)動系統(tǒng)，他是一輛在復(fù)雜路面比一般轎車具有更高通過性和安全性的轎車，是一輛ON ROAD車，而決不是一輛OFF ROAD越野車。所以在CRV的身上甚至沒有4WD這個標志。就連CRV的懸掛系統(tǒng)和前輪驅(qū)動模式也決定CRV不是一輛越野車。

CUV——CUV是英文Car-Based Utility Vehicle的縮寫，是以轎車底盤為設(shè)計平臺，融轎車、MPV和SUV特性為一體的多用途車，也被稱為Crossover。CUV最初于20世紀末起源日本，之后在北美、西歐等地區(qū)流行，開始成為崇尚既有轎車駕駛感受和操控性，又有多用途運動車的功能，喜歡SUV的粗獷外觀，同時也注重燃油經(jīng)濟性與兼顧良好的通過性的這類汽車用戶的最佳選擇。

SUV的全稱為：Sports Utility Vehicle，即“運動型多功能車”。SUV起源于美國，同樣也是近年美國市場最暢銷的車型。20世紀80年代，SUV是為迎合年青白領(lǐng)階層的愛好，在皮卡底盤上發(fā)展起來的一種廂式車。SUV采用四輪驅(qū)動，一般前懸掛是轎車車型的獨立螺旋彈簧懸架；后懸掛則是非獨立鋼板彈簧懸架，離地間隙較大；在一定程度上既有轎車的舒適性，又有越野車的越野性能。這類車既可載人，又可載貨，行駛范圍廣，具有豪華轎車的功能。

SUV兼具城市行走、野外運動，極其符合現(xiàn)代年輕人追求強烈個性的心態(tài)。SUV能適應(yīng)各種路況，而且性能價格比也相對較高，十分符合中國年輕一代的消費需求。SUV在中國的興起，是中國汽車市場和汽車文化迅速發(fā)展的必然結(jié)果。
