      [1]A recent newspaper story describes the Gaojin No.3 Middle School, a typical public school in Shanghai.The story contained the following quote from the Yu Haizhou, head of the school: “We know this could be seen as prejudice but the fact is, on average, the migrant children are at a lower level in their studies and are a lot more difficult to teach due to their poor living conditions.They move from place to place, change schools often and most of their parents do not pay enough attention to their education.”

      [2]Here are a few more salient facts about the school.The migrant children Yu described use lower-level textbooks than their mainstreamed counterparts.The students eat and leave school at different times during the day than the other children.They attend classes in a separate school building.[3]Yu explained why his school placed the children in separate classrooms at the school.He enumerated pressures he felt from parents of the mainstream students to not water down the curriculum.[4]The newspaper story also included quotes from one of the children at the school who was a member of the targeted migrant group, an advocate for those children, and a sociology professor.The student described a “distinct discrimination against us.” The advocate warned that the segregation psychologically impacts both groups of students negatively, but the sociologist professed that under the current conditions the separation of students was rational.[5]Education in China is compulsory for nine years, but many migrant children are denied services at public schools or asked to pay exorbitant fees in cities like Beijing and Shanghai because their parents do not have residency permits.Laws in those cities now require that the children be allowed to go to school regardless of their family’s residency status.The sad reality is that many migrant children are not enrolled in public school, many public schools do not welcome them and many children do not complete nine years of education.[6]Clearly, even at a school like Gaojin Middle School, which is attempting to educate both the migrant children and Shanghai’s resident children, there is a long way to go before those groups have the same chance to succeed.[7]If China does not wish to become two societies, one for people of means and another for poor people, the country must strive to equalize educational opportunities for everyone.[8]China’s leaders recognize that and have identified education as a national priority.[9]Last Wednesday, at a national education conference in Beijing, President Hu Jintao said that the whole society should be mobilized to support the country’s education development.[10]At the same conference, Premier Wen Jiabao stressed that schools must promote equal access to education as the first of several educational priorities he listed.[11]A society’s success is judged not by how well it provides for its richest citizens but by how well it can provide for all its citizens.In that regard, the challenge is to try and provide all students a similarly rich set of academic opportunities.From chinadaily.com.cn, July, 2010

      任何習(xí)慣都是從小養(yǎng)成的。如果學(xué)生沒有良好的聽課習(xí)慣,即使教師的課講得再精彩或?qū)W生有良好的天賦也很難達(dá)到預(yù)期的效果,而習(xí)慣的培養(yǎng)是經(jīng)過師生長期的努力而形成的,良好的聽課習(xí)慣是提高教學(xué)質(zhì)量的重要手段,特別是從小開始培養(yǎng)孩子好的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣,就必須從他們的聽課抓起。

      總之,在課堂教學(xué)過程中,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生良好的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣的過程是艱苦的,老師需要注意以下幾方面的問題:

      1、不要同時培養(yǎng)太多習(xí)慣。有的人想一口吃成胖子,把所有的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣同時培養(yǎng),結(jié)果事與愿違,效果不佳。當(dāng)然習(xí)慣培養(yǎng)太單調(diào)也不好,要在學(xué)生能接受的前提下,進(jìn)行立體培養(yǎng)效果會好些。

      2、忌“黑瞎子掰棒子”式的習(xí)慣培養(yǎng)。學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣可以一個一個地培養(yǎng),也可以同時培養(yǎng)幾個,但絕不可以培養(yǎng)了這個忘了那個。培養(yǎng)的習(xí)慣要經(jīng)常運用,最終形成習(xí)慣網(wǎng)絡(luò),使我們的學(xué)生各個方面都有好習(xí)慣。

      3、善待出現(xiàn)錯誤的同學(xué)。在學(xué)習(xí)過程中出現(xiàn)錯誤在所難免。如果出現(xiàn)錯誤就進(jìn)行批評,就會在討論和回答問題的時候裝腔作勢,假裝會了,學(xué)生發(fā)言的積極性就會降低,就不敢說真話。事實上回答出一個錯誤的問題正好提供了一個討論的機(jī)會。對他為什么會這樣回答,根源出現(xiàn)在什么地方弄明白,對學(xué)生更有好處。

      4、莫怕影響教學(xué)成績?!澳サ恫徽`砍柴工”,在學(xué)生習(xí)慣培養(yǎng)過程中,短時間內(nèi)可能會影響到學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)成績,但一段時間下來,不但會趕上,而且還會超過原有的水平。再說教學(xué)成績并不比培養(yǎng)良好的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣重要。

      5、培養(yǎng)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣要有耐心,要有持之以恒的態(tài)度。有的老師在培養(yǎng)學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣的時候,少則一節(jié)課兩節(jié)課,多則一兩個星期,學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣沒培養(yǎng)起來就說什么“朽木不可雕也”,學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣不可能培養(yǎng)起來。有那些時間還不如講幾個題管用。甚至有人說培養(yǎng)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣等于耽誤時間。這是一種急功近利的思想,是要不得的,是不科學(xué)的。培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣是一個長期的過程,短時間很難見效益,但是一旦培養(yǎng)成功,那么不但能提高教學(xué)成績,更難能可貴的是讓學(xué)生學(xué)會了學(xué)習(xí),將會有重要的社會效應(yīng),這是我們教學(xué)的根本所在。

      6、孩子各種良好的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣其實是一個有機(jī)的整體,它們之間是有必然的聯(lián)系的。如核心的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣與輔助的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣之間的有機(jī)結(jié)合,才能說是真正的良好的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣,兩種缺一都是不完整的。再如聽、說、思的習(xí)慣,三者是相輔相成,互不可缺的。只有上課認(rèn)真聽,積極思考才會回答問題。因此只有各種習(xí)慣有機(jī)的配合,才能真正養(yǎng)成良好的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣。
