英語(yǔ)應(yīng)用文寫作之推薦信

推薦信的寫作（The Writing of Letters of Recommendation）

在聯(lián)系到國(guó)外學(xué)習(xí)或就業(yè)的過程中，往往需要以往的同事、上司或老師寫一封推薦信。推薦信寫得好壞意義重大，因?yàn)樗P(guān)系到對(duì)被推薦人人品、能力及知識(shí)各個(gè)方面的評(píng)價(jià)。因此，在推薦信的寫作中，首先需要對(duì)該信的用途加以了解，以便確定被推薦人是否適合這一職位或是否適合進(jìn)入某一專業(yè)攻讀學(xué)位或從事研究工作。推薦信應(yīng)包括以下內(nèi)容：

① 被推薦人全名；

② 推薦人與被推薦人認(rèn)識(shí)時(shí)間的長(zhǎng)短及其關(guān)系,如：(I have been Mr.Bowman’s immediate supervisor for the past six years.);

③ 被推薦人的學(xué)識(shí)及其優(yōu)秀的品質(zhì)（最好有具體的事例加以證明）；

④ 被推薦人所申請(qǐng)的學(xué)校或機(jī)構(gòu)對(duì)其感興趣的理由，總結(jié)對(duì)被推薦人的信心，并主動(dòng)提出如有必要的話，可以提供更多的有關(guān)被推薦人的資料。

在推薦信的寫作中，應(yīng)注意以下幾點(diǎn)：

1）推薦信一定要寫得具體，可以用具體的事例說(shuō)明被推薦人的長(zhǎng)處。

2）即便被推薦人有許多優(yōu)點(diǎn)，推薦信也應(yīng)當(dāng)集中在兩三個(gè)方面。

3）在推薦信中，不要使用諸如下面這樣的話：“I’d hire her in a minute if she were applying here” 或 “I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this scholarship.”。因?yàn)?，推薦人只需要提供證明資料，并不需要做出任何決定。

申請(qǐng)的具體內(nèi)容和緣由→自己的情況和條件→提出要求，如回信、面試等等。注意：
