英語書面表達教學設計
書面表達是寫的一種途徑,是英語交際的重要組成部分。初中階段對于英語寫作的要求,實際上是“有指導的寫作”(Guided Writing)。它通過提供情景(文字、圖畫、表格),讓學生用學過的英語語言來描述事物或事件并表達一定的思想,以此達成和檢驗對所學英語語言知識的實踐應用能力。客觀地說,書面表達一直是我們英語教學的一個難點,也是學生應試的一個難點。
從去年對樂清市中考英語試卷的抽樣調查情況來看,英語寫作是得分最為薄弱的一個題項,平均分只有4.7分(滿分為20分)。究其原因,一是學生寫作練習的時間少,二是教師平時缺乏對學生進行系統(tǒng)的寫作知識的指導。(比如,如何用詞、句、組段、謀篇等)。這些原因造成了學生從最初不會寫盲目寫到不愿寫。懼怕寫,直至最后拒絕寫的惡性循環(huán)。針對這一現(xiàn)象,我在柳市鎮(zhèn)一中進行了一次如何提高學生寫作能力的課堂實踐。寫作的材料取自于高一新教材第一單元的“Reading and writing”。教師旨在通過與學生談論他們熟悉的話題“making friends”, 搜索學生頭腦中有關朋友的消息,通過閱讀兩則e-pal廣告,獲取e-pals的一些信息,指導如何寫e-mail,從而達到給e-pals 寫信的目的。
二、教學過程。
1.Warm-up活動:通過聽一首英語歌:“The more we get together, the happier we’ll be.”目的是活躍氣氛,為引出今天的話題做準備。
2.Revision ①使用大腦風暴法(brainstorm)讓學生想出一些和friends 有關的單詞短語和句子,目的是激活學生頭腦中和寫作話題make friends 相關的東西,如想法、概念、形象等醞釀寫作的思路,供擬稿階段(drafting stage)選擇有寫的價值和意義的東西時參考。] ②根據(jù)下列所給提示介紹你的朋友(四人一小組活動)。⑴Name and age.⑵Where he / she comes from subject? ⑶What he is? ⑷What his / her friend? ⑸looks(外貌)⑹personality(性格)⑺His / Her drean ⑻……
3.Pre-reading 通過提問,How can you know your friends, if you haven’t seen each other for a long time? 聯(lián)系朋友有很多方法,但是 One of the best ways is sending e-mails to them.Do you know why?過渡今天話題的材料,快速看完兩則e-pal廣告,找出答案。4.While-reading,讀兩則廣告,了解Mary和Jack完成表格 Name Age Hobbies Looks Personality E-mail added Wish Where she… 5.Post-reading 引導學生討論:Do you like to make e-pals with Mary or Jack? Why? 當大部分學生都持肯定觀點時進一步思索,What will you write in you e-mail to them? 為下面事實寫作埋下伏筆,提供鋪墊。6.While-Writing.教會學生正確使用e-mail格式,同時提供關于朋友和友誼的一些精彩句子,為學生寫作提供素材。
7.Post-writing.提供寫作標準
要求學生根據(jù)這個標準,修改自己的e-mail.1.Do you use the tense(時態(tài)),spelling(拼寫),punctuation(標點),capitalization(大寫字母)correctly? 2.I s your e-mail complete(完整的)? 3.Is your e-mail coherently(連貫地)written? 4.Can you describe yourself in a concise(簡潔的)way? 5.Are there any complex sentences(復合句)in your e-mail? 目的是通過自改,有助于他們提高書面表達中的語言準確性,提高了學生通過自己獨立思考,來解決問題的能力。8.Share the writing.點評兩篇學生習作,選自一位基礎較好的同學和一位基礎一般的同學的作文。教師根據(jù)上述提供的寫作標準,詳細點評兩篇習作的篇章結構和句法功能。目的是使學生盡力領會教師對文章的點評,培養(yǎng)學生選詞和用詞的能力,指導學生多模仿好文章的優(yōu)點。
三、本堂課中的精彩片段。就整節(jié)課而言,這無疑是一堂令人喝彩的課,無論是從學生參與課堂實踐的積極性來看,還是從學生出色完成教師布置的任務后而展示的成果來看,都給聽課的老師留下了一種意猶未盡的印象。而我自己覺得其中有兩個精彩片段更值得與同行們分享。
☆使用brainstorming培養(yǎng)學生在英語寫作中自主學習的能力。
Brainstorming 這種外語教學中常用的教學技巧可直評為“頭腦風暴法”是一種通過小型會議的組織形式,讓所有參加者在自由、愉快、暢所欲言的氣氛中自由交換觀點,并以此誘發(fā)集體智慧,激發(fā)學習者創(chuàng)意與靈感的學習方法。在英語課中的 pre-writing階段,使用brainstorming對促進學生的自主學習,發(fā)展學生寫的能力起著積極的促進作用。
Brainstorming在本堂寫作一課中的應用實例。
1.圍繞話題:“friends and friendship”進行Brainstorming。
教師使用web-spider在黑板的一側寫下學生能夠想到的單詞、詞組和句子,friends and friendship 結合學生思維一下子開闊起來,下面是學生討論后呈現(xiàn)出來的詞和短語:good friends, boy friends, girl friends, pen friends, friends are important, my friends are handsome/ugly, I want to make friends with you, friends in need are friends indeed….在這個階段,教師引導和鼓勵學生積極參與討論,并把每個學生的發(fā)言要點寫在黑板上,出現(xiàn)有個學生用英語表述“患難之交才是真正的朋友”對允許其先說出中文,然后向全班同學或老師求助。
2.當學生完成careful reading之后,圍繞話題:Write an email to one of the e-pals.教師通過兩個問題進行引導。
①Do you like to write an e-mail to Mary or Jack? Why? ②What will you write in your e-mail? 讓學生進行小組活動,互相啟發(fā),把雙方的想法清晰化和條理化,并用英語口頭表述出來。我把學生討論的結果通過投影形式展現(xiàn)出來。
⑴ I want to make friends with Jack because I like playing basketball too.⑵ I want to make friends with Mary because she is a girl.⑶ I want to make friends with Jack because I can visit his country.⑷ I want to make friends with Jack because he is very handsome ….至于第二個問題,學生想到的就越多了:I will tell him/her about my family, my hobby ,my interests, my good friends ,my hometown, my study, my teachers, my dream, my QQ number and my telephone , my school… 下面是Brainstorming 之后一個學生寫出的短文。Dear Mary, My name is Gu Bo.I ‘m a 14-year-old girl 四.反思評價
寫作是一個由淺入深、由易到難、由簡到繁的訓練過程,任何一個環(huán)節(jié)出問題都會影響對學生寫作能力的培養(yǎng)。因此,盲目的訓練往往多做無用功,我們必須在平時就十分注重方法與技巧。4.1 注意多種訓練方法相結合。
與任務(task)相結合。有目的的寫作常能更好地調動學生的積極性,所以在培養(yǎng)學生這方面的能力時,應盡量與教學的多種任務相結合,而不是純粹布置一篇作文。貫穿這節(jié)寫作課的也是一系列的任務:
Activity1: Write out some words, phrases and sentences about friends and friendship.Activity2: Please introduce your friend to us.Activity3: Read the two ads(廣告).Get to know Mary and Jack Activity4: Write an e-mail to Mary or Jack 組織多樣的小組活動。新世紀中,我們很重視培養(yǎng)學生的合作精神,而小組活動就是培養(yǎng)其合作精神的捷徑。這堂寫作課中在pre-writing時采取二人小組活動,四人小組活動,組織學生在小組活動中共同完成教師呈現(xiàn)的任務,從而降低其難度,使基礎好的同學在寫作時起點更高,基礎較差的同學也能言之有物,互相啟發(fā),共同提高。如資料、信息的搜集,材料關鍵點的把握,文章完成后的修改等。4.2平時注重解題技巧的養(yǎng)成: 1.準備工作
①.仔細審題,明確要求。羅列題目所提供的信息,然后認真分析,審清題意后,把要求表達的各個要點按順序和層次一一列出。②.緊扣要點,尋求思路。草擬一個提綱,按時間、空間或邏輯順序,確定開頭,再圍繞這一順序,周密選詞、選句,并擬好如何結尾(可適當發(fā)表自己的觀點)。2.寫作之中
①.開門見山,緊扣主題。如寫參觀農場的日記,就可用“Last Sunday we visited the West Hill Farm.” 直接說明時間及地點。如寫的是關于度假的,則可以“We had a happy holiday in Jiaxin last Sunday.” 來開頭等等。
②.語言正確,規(guī)范地道。盡量使用學過的、最熟悉也最有把握的句型、結構,應盡量避免中國式英語。要養(yǎng)成正確運用標點符號的好習慣,切忌一點到底的錯誤方法。(I spent 10 yuan buy the book.He by bike to school.)
③.重短輕長, 就易避難。重短輕長--寫短句忌長句,由寫簡易句子開始,即“主語(誰)謂語(做/是)賓語/表語(什么),應盡量寫出自己最有把握,最熟悉的句子,避免寫長句,以寫正確、通順為最基本要求。就易避難--多用簡單句少用復合句,首先在寫好簡單句的基礎上然后可逐步過渡到較為復雜的復合句,例如用when, before等連詞引導的從句。整個句子越長,出錯的可能性就越大。④.過渡自然,表達流暢。注意前后句、上下文盡量過渡自然,正確使用and, or, but, because, so, then, after等詞,保持行文的流暢。不重復使用可置換的詞,如前面提到了Jim這個人,后面再出現(xiàn)就可用he來供代替,但要注意前后的一致性。
⑤.適當評論,發(fā)表己見。結尾處用1-2句話發(fā)表一點自己的看法,往往有畫龍點睛之妙。
學生比較精彩的結尾有:

鼓勵學生學會批改自己的習作。
①.一般語法項目的檢查--英語中的人稱、時態(tài)、單復數(shù)、習慣用法等都是非常重要的,即使在朗讀中好像全理解,但在動筆的實踐中就往往出錯。
②.注意語序--英語中的疑問句、感嘆句和賓語從句都是通過語序的變化來構成和體現(xiàn)的,不注意會出現(xiàn)錯誤和意義上混淆。如:
Jim works very hard.So does Jack.(前后主語非一人)A: Jim works very hard.B: So he does.(前后主語為一人)He didn’t know where the bookshop was.The boys want to know how they should do it.③.符合習慣--說英語的國家有自己民族的文化、習俗、情感、思維方式、生活習慣等。受母語思維定式的影響,應避免在練筆當中受母語的干擾,要注意語言表達地道。例如漢語“我的工作很忙。”就不能用英語My work is very busy.來表達,而應當說I’m very busy with my work.又如:有的同學在表達很常用的“我很喜歡它”時,會說“I very much like it.”, 而其正確表達應是 “I like it very much.” ④.書寫規(guī)范,卷面整潔。卷面不整潔,使人無法看清你寫的究竟是什么,那么就可能按錯處理。所以在寫時,如時間允許,應先打草稿,修改后再抄清楚。4.3堅持循序漸進的訓練原則。
“在開展筆語訓練時,循序漸進包含兩個內容。從形式上看,在造句練習的基礎上,開展連貫的筆頭作業(yè)或作文,即從短到長。從質量上看,在簡單的連貫性的筆頭作業(yè)基礎上,開展要求較高的作文練習。兩者之間并無矛盾,關鍵在于循序”(李庭薌,1983)所以,寫作要先易后難,先短后長,先學會運用簡單句、并列句,后學會用復合句表達,先寫正確句子逐步過渡到圍繞一個人、一件事、一個觀點去寫有中心的文章,由不限定時間到限定時間,由限定時間長到限定時間短,由限定字數(shù)少到多…… 4.4注意文章的講評。
高度重視范文的講評,教師應認真準備,而學生則應盡力領會教師對文章的點評,指導學生多模仿好文章的優(yōu)點,特別是應提倡模仿以英語為本族語的人所寫的東西,看他們如何組織寫作,如何運用詞語和句子”(賈冠杰,1996)同進,指出不佳文章的缺點,引起學生注意并在寫作中注意盡量避免。以下的學生作文和中考范文的對比,相信能給大家一點啟示。學生作文:

兩篇文章在描寫順序、語法的正確性、用詞的豐富程度及關鍵信息的表達上是不可同日而語的??傊?,只要我們思想上重視,訓練方法得當,經(jīng)過初三一年年持續(xù)有效的訓練,定能達成《課程標準》中的要求,從而為學生進一步學好英語打下扎實的基礎,為學生在中考中取得滿意的成績。

英語書面表達教學反思
英語的書面表達教學曾經(jīng)是我在教學過程中十分棘手的一個問題,英語的書面表達和語文的小作文相似,它要求的篇幅十分短小,僅限于150個單詞或150個字。但“麻雀雖小,五臟俱全”,要在這么短小的一片文章里表達清楚一件事,或闡明一種觀點的話,不僅要求學生有高度的概括能力,而且要求學生有熟練的駕馭英語的能力。在教學過程中我一直在分析學生寫作中存在的問題,摸索確實可行的方法,創(chuàng)造可能的條件,最大可能的提高學生的寫作能力。
學生面臨的寫作困難主要有以下幾個方面:1.心里因素的制約。一部分學生根本不重視書面表達,因為初中時所養(yǎng)成的定勢思維,初中時書面表達很簡單,根本不需要去刻意的練習。還有一部分學生認為英語書面表達難寫。他們認為英語寫作提高耗時長、見效慢;另外,學生在寫作過程中詞匯缺乏,所掌握的基本技能很有限。2.寫作內容單調。對大多數(shù)學生而言,幾乎在作文中都體現(xiàn)出內容貧乏,思路狹窄、不開闊。3.寫作技巧欠缺。不少同學動筆前沒有審題、構思的習慣,提筆就寫,邊想邊寫,東拼西湊,語無倫次,根本沒有使文章主題與段落和句子連為一體的整體概念。另一方面,學生在寫作時只注意單句的意思表達,而忽視了句子的邏輯關系。分析了學生的主要問題之后,我就有意識地對學生進行寫作重要性的教育,并通過立足教材和活用教材,重視挖掘,拓寬學生寫作的渠道,指導學生進行高效的英語寫作練習。
一、重視學生平時的積累。
書面表達注重學生綜合運用語言的能力,從高一就要抓起,指導學生養(yǎng)成良好的語言習得習慣,著重打好語言學習基礎,尤其是詞句的練習。此外,還要采取一些方法培養(yǎng)學生的語感和筆頭寫作能力。
1、背誦課文中含有語言點的句子、段落,含有主旨句的段落,并且進行仿說、活用。這樣做不僅可以幫助學生理解課文,記憶重要的短語、句型,而且還可以積累話題寫作內容和培養(yǎng)語感。
2、積累短語詞匯。詞匯是說話寫作的必需材料要求學生每天運用聯(lián)想、發(fā)散等方法記憶一定量的單詞。在詞匯教學中,堅持用英語解釋新單詞,注意同義詞和同詞根的積累,開發(fā)學生發(fā)散性思維。例如:見到短語as a matter of fact(事實上)這個短語時,就可以讓學生寫出所有的表達這個意思的詞和短語,有in fact ;in actual fact;in reality以及副詞actually。并且要求學生造句,在句子中記住它們。
3、收集英語中寫作的各種題型的格式和篇章結構,尤其是一些實用文體如書信、邀請函、通知、口頭通知等。背誦開頭和結尾的優(yōu)美句型。
4、堅持一句多譯練習。開發(fā)學生發(fā)散性思維,堅持表達方式多樣化的練習。如:會議結束了,就可以翻譯為:

to their meeting.5、限時訓練,集中精力,一氣呵成。在限定時間內,一般是20分鐘,完成寫作、修改,定稿和謄寫任務是有一定難度的,所以平時注重限時訓練,養(yǎng)成良好習慣,時刻提醒同學要善于避生就熟,“曲線”表達,但切記中文式英語,要善于英語思維。
二、加強英語寫作步驟的教學。
在教學中,一直向學生強調要想拿高分就要取悅于閱卷老師。閱卷老師喜歡的文章:字體工整,卷面整潔,緊扣主題,條理清晰;語言地道,過渡自然;長度適中,一氣呵成。而討厭的文章:層次不清,段落不分;語句不通,雜亂無章;書寫潦草,卷面不清。在教學中應根據(jù)教學內容設計使用一系列教學活動,提高學生的寫作技能。
第一步:審題構思,明確體裁和格式。在平時寫作訓練中,讓學生明確常見的幾種文體和格式,教師應該結合課文分類,按題材歸納,通過對各種文體的分析,掌握各種文體所需語言材料,促使學生熟悉英語篇章的常見結構,使學生熟悉不同文體的構成要素和不同要素的層次結構。只有這樣學生寫作時才會得心應手。
第二步:抓住要點,一一對應。要點齊全是得高分的關鍵,要點遺漏要扣分。一般為5~8個要點,加一些次要點構成一篇文章。可用列提綱式或關鍵詞列出,以防遺漏。
第三步:遣詞造句,句式靈活多變。教師應該幫助學生選擇豐富多彩的語言材料。這些材料能夠調動學生的興趣,在潤物無聲中豐富學生的語言知識,提高學生的語感,開闊學生的文化視野。在閱讀中,有意識的對各種從句、倒裝句、強調結構、虛擬語氣等語言形式進行分析、欣賞和積累對于學生形成英語語感、準確表達自己的思想有很大的幫助。從而為從根本上迅速提高學生書面表達能力打下扎實的基礎。僅僅做到這些還不夠,讓學生的作文亮起來還要注意:
1、用詞要亮,要簡潔,不重復,要生動。
2、避免漢語式英語。如:The fish doesn’t smell fresh.不能寫成:The fish
smells not fresh.3、造句要亮:可以有意識地在文中使用非謂語動詞形式、倒裝句、虛擬語氣、省略句及with的復合結構等句式,使文章更有表現(xiàn)力和感染力。如:
A strong storm hit/struck in our city last week要比A strong storm happened in our city last week生動活潑的多。
又如:Only by working hard can we succeed要比We can succeed by Working hard更富有說服力。
4、句間和段間過渡要亮。要在文章中段間、句間恰當使用一些表示過渡性的詞語。如:表轉折用but,however,nevertheless,yet,while,though,although,on the contrary等;表原因用because,since,for,以及介詞短語because of,thanks to,due to,owing to等;表個人觀點用in my opinion,as far as I concerned,personally,from my point of view,I think等還有其他的英語中表示上下文邏輯關系的詞,使文章有機地結合在一起成為一個完整的整體。
第四步:規(guī)范作文 的篇章結構。作文基本格式很重要,三段式仍需強調:開頭段—開門見山,點明主旨;主體段—銜接自然,內容連貫;可以由一個或一個以上的自然段組成,主要是以說明事由、敘述事件為主體,應該詳細寫。結尾段—簡潔有力,首尾呼應。這三段渾然一體,不可分割。這就要求學生會用恰當?shù)倪^渡詞和過渡句使文章承上啟下,流暢通順。
總之,英文寫作是一個學生綜合能力的書面體現(xiàn),是一個長期復雜的訓練過程。只有堅持不懈地把學生綜合能力的培養(yǎng)貫穿于日常的教學活動中,在寫作教學中不斷探索和創(chuàng)新,才能打破傳統(tǒng)寫作教學的模式,達到一個新的高度。教師要將閱讀、翻譯和寫作技能的培養(yǎng)結合起來,加強對語言基本知識和基本技能的訓練及中西思維差異的對比研究,這樣才能使中學生的英語寫作水平得到全面提高。培養(yǎng)學生的寫作能力不是一蹴而就的,需要教師在平時就從學生的實際水平出發(fā),有目的、有機會、有要求、有檢查、有反饋地進行訓練,由易至難,循序漸進。只有這樣,學生到高考時才能做到厚積薄發(fā),思如泉涌,下筆如有神。
