小學(xué)英語(yǔ)課堂是否應(yīng)該“全英化”教學(xué)?
隨著新課標(biāo)的推行,全英課堂教學(xué)慢慢成為一種趨勢(shì)和必然。縱觀現(xiàn)在大大小小的英語(yǔ)公開課,都會(huì)使用全英教學(xué)。這似乎變成了一項(xiàng)大家約定俗成的基本要求。新課標(biāo)的推行已經(jīng)有幾年了,全英教學(xué)模式這一改革到底是否適應(yīng)我們的小學(xué)英語(yǔ)課堂呢?是否全英一直都是我的一個(gè)困惑。究竟該如何取得一個(gè)平衡點(diǎn)呢?
一 在小學(xué)課堂中使用全英教學(xué),迫使教師專業(yè)水平的提高。提倡全英教學(xué),就要求小學(xué)英語(yǔ)教師必須有過(guò)硬的專業(yè)知識(shí)水平。學(xué)生才能從簡(jiǎn)單的語(yǔ)言知識(shí)的傳授,向語(yǔ)言知識(shí)與語(yǔ)言技能并重中轉(zhuǎn)變。也就是說(shuō)不是單純地停留在只知道這個(gè)英文句子的意思,還能在實(shí)際生活中運(yùn)用??墒俏覀兊膶W(xué)生尤其是廣大農(nóng)村的學(xué)生真的具備這個(gè)能力嗎?如果教師一堂課全用英語(yǔ),學(xué)生能夠跟上教師的節(jié)奏嗎?針對(duì)這個(gè)問(wèn)題,我在學(xué)生中試著做過(guò)一個(gè)小調(diào)查,大部分學(xué)生表示如果老師用全英自己會(huì)感覺很困難。
在一個(gè)班級(jí)中,中等生和后進(jìn)生占半數(shù)。根據(jù)我個(gè)人的經(jīng)驗(yàn)所得,這部分學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)特點(diǎn):
(1)知識(shí)基礎(chǔ)相對(duì)薄弱或不扎實(shí),對(duì)新知識(shí)的掌握反應(yīng)較慢。(2)遇到不懂的知識(shí),不主動(dòng)向老師提出。(3)課堂上,注意力持續(xù)時(shí)間不長(zhǎng)。
從這我們不難看出,在課堂上迷信地使用全英教學(xué),容易造成中等生和后進(jìn)生由于聽不明白,使其注意力不能集中,完成不了課堂上的學(xué)習(xí)任務(wù)。加之課后他們遇到不懂的知識(shí)通常會(huì)選擇自己隨便寫上答案,也不會(huì)主動(dòng)請(qǐng)教老師。使得他們掌握知識(shí)越發(fā)困難,最后可能甚至失去學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)的興趣,這樣的一個(gè)惡性循環(huán)。
另外,全英教學(xué),容易造成教學(xué)資源的浪費(fèi)。初學(xué)英語(yǔ)者,尤其是小學(xué)生,在課堂上所聽所學(xué)的內(nèi)容應(yīng)該是比較固定,如出現(xiàn)過(guò)多學(xué)生不理解的英語(yǔ)句子和單詞,會(huì)造成他們的混淆或?qū)λ鶎W(xué)知識(shí)的大量遺忘。其實(shí)課堂很多知識(shí)性的解釋用漢語(yǔ)一說(shuō)就懂了,可是你用英語(yǔ)又是動(dòng)作又是圖畫,搞得滿頭大汗也不見得能說(shuō)明白。這樣不但把有限的課堂時(shí)間白白地浪費(fèi)掉,而且精心準(zhǔn)備的教學(xué)資源也發(fā)揮不出其作用。最后,過(guò)分迷信全英教學(xué),容易流于形式。我們大部分教師平時(shí)上課是很難做到全英教學(xué)的,可一到公開課就會(huì)刻意用全英指令,可是我們會(huì)很明顯的發(fā)現(xiàn)很多學(xué)生對(duì)老師的指令變得手足無(wú)措當(dāng)然并非每個(gè)人都會(huì)這樣,有人就能很流利地用英語(yǔ)上好一節(jié)課,學(xué)生也能配合得很好。但個(gè)別成功的公開課并不能說(shuō)明這種教學(xué)手段的有效性,應(yīng)該更多地關(guān)注大部分群體他們平時(shí)是如何做。一味地強(qiáng)調(diào)全英教學(xué)是否現(xiàn)實(shí)。加上小學(xué)是學(xué)生母語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)和規(guī)范的階段,尤其是中低年齡段的學(xué)生,完全用另外一種語(yǔ)言傳授知識(shí),恐怕他們會(huì)變得迷茫。所以說(shuō)太過(guò)迷信全英教學(xué),會(huì)使其容易流于形式。
其實(shí)推行英語(yǔ)教學(xué),為學(xué)生營(yíng)造語(yǔ)言環(huán)境,老師是支持的,這也是大勢(shì)所趨。但不見得適合所有年齡階段的孩子。因?yàn)槿⒔虒W(xué)的開展需要一個(gè)過(guò)程,應(yīng)該考慮在剛接觸英語(yǔ)的中低年級(jí)學(xué)生,教師可以用漢語(yǔ)教學(xué);隨著年齡的增大到高年級(jí)左右,視乎學(xué)校本身的條件,實(shí)施半英語(yǔ)或全英語(yǔ)教學(xué)。

The pupils choose the ight cads they have pepaed and put them up above thei heads when they hea the teache’s instuctions and give them to the teaching answeing loudly: ”Hee you ae.’

The teache would lead the class to ead the sentences on the boad and ask some moe difficult questions.Maybe the pupils can not undestand them clealy ,but it doesn’t matte.we just give the pupils moe infomation about the language and give them the bette language cicumstances that can help them in the futue leaning.8.Homewok :(家庭作業(yè))

Now Let’s focus on the analysis of teaching content.It can be divided into 3 parts as followed: the status and the function, the teaching objectives , the main points and difficult points, I’ll talk about it one by one.This lesson is the first lesson of unit 1, book7.It includes two parts: Let’s learn and let’s play.In section 1, it mainly deals with these key phrases: on foot, by bike, by bus, by train, by subway.And in section 2, it provides a game for the Ss to prastise the patterns: How do you go to?? And the answer: I go? by../ on foot.Our students have already known some vehicles in the daily life.It’s not difficult for them to understand and use these words.If students can learn it well, it will help students to learn the rest of this unit.So, I set the following aims: The first is language objectives
To make sure that students can read, recognize and use these key phrases :on foot ,by bike,by bus,by train skillfully.The next is ability objectives(1)To develop Ss’ abilities of listening and speaking.(2)To train the Ss’ ability of working in groups.moral objectives

As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils’ basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language.So in this lesson I’ll mainly use “Task-based” teaching method.That is to say, I will let the Ss learn in real situations, finish a task by making a survey”How do you go to school?” to help Ss to get a better understanding of the key phrases.I will arrange these activities: guessing game, finishing a survey and having a competition.And in this lesson a recorder, CAI, will be needed.partⅢ teaching procedures
I’ll finish this lesson in five steps.step1 lead--in activities
I will begin my class with “drawing and guessing” game, just like this : I show students some vehicles such as bike ,bus ,jeep which they learned before by “Stick Figures” and ask them guess what’s it.Purpose: It is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss by guessing game.and at the same time it provides situations to review learned knowledge for the next step.step2 prestentation
Now I’ll mainly talk about this step.1、first there is a Free talk between T and Ss.For example: I show many pictures of beautiful cities and ask students some questions, such as “do you like this city?where do you want to go ?”and help Ss to answer them with “by train ,by plane,by ship”.By the way, I show the picture of a school, and say“ I go to schiool by bus” ,Ss read this sentence.do the actions and ask “how do you go to school?”,show many pictures of tools such as ,on foot by bike ,by bus to help students answer my question one by one.To present the key structures one by one is much easier for the Ss to learn and grasp the meanings.2 With the help of the CAI I set a situation to help Ss understand the way of using these key phrases: A boy is coming, who is going to school.He says: I go to school by?Then play the sounds of bus, bike ask students to listen carefully and tell “I go to school by?“ according to the different sounds, by the way , I present another new phrases:by subway Purpose:Make Ss use these new phrases with sentence structures, to help Ss use the language in a real situation.step3 practise I order to make every student read these new phrases correctly, I design a ”drill “in this step, I show cards as soon as possible ,students should read the words quickly and spell them.Then I ask 'How do you go to school?'students answer ”I go to......“also I will quicken the speed to ask.The purpose is to draw the whole students'attention to the spelling of the words 4 After this, I ask Ss to do ”Let's play “ in fours.They use places cards and vehicle cards, ask and answer:How do you go to ?? I go to ? by?” 5, If Ss can ask and answer expertly, I will ask them to make a short dialogue.the purpose of this is to help students to learn those sentenses through a ture situation and make the dialogues in order to check if Ss can usse these key prases、sentences structures skillfully step 4 consolidation
let students do a survey about ”how do you go to school?“and the table like this :write down names and tools another Ss choose Task-based teaching method is used here to develop Ss’ ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained.step 5 homework
