一、奧巴馬的政治背景

在1995年的時候，奧巴馬出過自傳《源自父親的夢想》，可那時沒有多少人知道奧巴馬是誰，所以賣得很差。但是2008年的美國大選使奧巴馬成為2008年年度重要人物之一，從平凡的參議員到美國總統(tǒng)的巨大跨度，奧巴馬成功塑造了自己的名人形象.46歲的奧巴馬的所有政治履歷就是：3年的國會參議員生涯，7年的伊利諾伊州參議員生涯，民主黨內(nèi)國眾議員初選的一次敗北，民主黨全國大會上的一次精彩演說，兩本政治類暢銷書。

僅僅這些無疑不足以讓他問鼎總統(tǒng)寶座，然而當奧巴馬在2007年2月10日借用林肯演講的寓意正式宣布參加2008年美國總統(tǒng)大選時，傳奇就開始了。

二、個人形象定位

作為政治名人，其形象的表現(xiàn)內(nèi)容是多方面的，是對個人全面能力的綜合反映。只有具有多維性，才能使塑造出來的形象不至于過于單薄，在競選中才能更具實力。

1、碰巧是生為黑人的競選人

奧巴馬將自己定位成“碰巧是生為黑人的競選人”，而不是“黑人總統(tǒng)”，其政治主張突出的是不同種族的團結(jié)與融合，并非爭取黑人權(quán)利。作為黑人的競選者,奧巴馬不是第一個競選總統(tǒng)的黑人，但是搞膚色政治爭取不到白人。奧巴馬既要做到討好白人的時候不得罪黑人，又要做到討好黑人的時候不得罪白人，他找到了這兩方面的平衡點。

2、平民的代理人

奧巴馬2004年7月在民主黨全國代表大會上作“基調(diào)演講”時，就提到了自己的身世：“我站在這里，清楚地意識到我的故事只是大量美國故事中的一個部分，我感激所有賦予我生命的人。我的故事興許也發(fā)生在全球的各個地方?！?復(fù)雜坎坷的成長經(jīng)歷，讓奧巴馬特別關(guān)注美國社會底層的生存狀態(tài)。從政以來，他喊出了很多社會下層民眾的呼聲。經(jīng)過多年的從政經(jīng)歷，奧巴馬積攢起雄厚的民意資本，成功地樹立起清廉、為百姓著想的形象。奧巴馬的從政歷史也成為從社會底層依靠一己之力奮斗出頭的平民草根成長史，以此吸引更多基層民眾的支持。

3、.未來的改變者

美國現(xiàn)在面對的問題總的來說是一個衰退的經(jīng)濟，一場在麻煩地區(qū)戰(zhàn)爭的惡化。在此壓力下，奧巴馬的競選團隊針對美國現(xiàn)狀提出有力的競選綱領(lǐng)，與共和黨麥凱恩提出的偏重國家安全和對外政策的綱領(lǐng)不同，奧巴馬的主張更加強調(diào)在民生領(lǐng)域的作為。針對受2007年以來次危機影響加速衰退的美國經(jīng)濟，提出能源獨立，從伊拉克戰(zhàn)場撤軍以縮減軍事開支發(fā)展經(jīng)濟，提高年收入25萬美元以上者的稅率，以及降低醫(yī)療成本以改善醫(yī)療體系等。他仍沿用了初選時的口號：變革，寓意他組建的政府將改變美國經(jīng)濟每況愈下的現(xiàn)狀。這正好迎合了美國人要求改變的心理，贏得了選民的好感。

通過奧巴馬對自己的明確定位，他給被塑造者樹立一個良好的公眾形象，以得到更多選民的信任和支持。

三、明確受眾定位

可以說不是每一個美國人都關(guān)注競選的，這次也不例外，但是2008年無疑是選民們參加人數(shù)最多的一年，那是因為中間多出了以往被忽略的中間力量———新一代的年輕人。美國《時代》周刊的一項民意調(diào)查顯示，在18歲～29歲的美國人中，這次對大選表示關(guān)注的達到了74％，而在2004年，這一比例只有42％；在2000年，只有可憐的13％。奧巴馬的清新形象吸引了不少年輕人的關(guān)注，而以往這些人的多數(shù)是不太關(guān)心政治的，這部分人成為支持奧巴馬的主力，其實也更顯現(xiàn)了未來是把握在年輕人手中的，后一代人總會成熟，他們需要有自己的意愿，不再漠不關(guān)心政治，他們是美國未來的主要變革力量。

四、與媒介的整合運用

做好了個人受眾定位相當于做好了形象的內(nèi)在，有了內(nèi)容，就需要通過各種傳播途徑把內(nèi)在的東西宣揚出去，在各種媒介的宣傳下，個人的魅力可以無限放大，在聚光燈的關(guān)注下，就能產(chǎn)生明星般的光環(huán)效應(yīng)。

1、電視廣告方面

奧巴馬的競選團隊制作了展現(xiàn)奧巴馬正面形象和他競選綱領(lǐng)的廣告在重點州的電視網(wǎng)播放。另外，它的競選團隊還買下Dish電視臺的一個頻道，一周7天全天24小時循環(huán)播放奧巴馬的競選廣告。競選標志被設(shè)計成一個圓形，象征著奧巴馬（Obama）名字的首字母“O”。O形的上半部分呈環(huán)狀，為藍色，象征著藍天；下半部分為紅白相間的條紋，象征著跑道。每一處細節(jié)都極富寓意，透視著奧巴馬的參選口號，意指奧巴馬組建的政府將帶領(lǐng)美國人民走向希望。

2、新媒體（Web2．0）的運用

本次大選讓人們更明顯地感到是網(wǎng)絡(luò)時代的大選，在Web2．0技術(shù)的廣泛運用和普及條件下，受眾從單純的信息傳播接受者向信息接受者、信息生產(chǎn)者、信息傳播者的復(fù)合身份轉(zhuǎn)變。首先，低價、便捷的傳播方式提升了傳播效果。奧巴馬的競選團隊將奧巴馬的競選廣告、演說視頻和他最新拉票行程的視頻片段上傳到網(wǎng)站Youtube上并開設(shè)專頁，不僅節(jié)省了大筆電視廣告費用，還擴大了觀眾的范圍。一些支持者還自發(fā)創(chuàng)作歌曲并將歌曲配上視頻上傳到網(wǎng)站上，其中不乏著名的音樂人和音樂組合，這些視頻一推出，便獲得了空前的點擊率。

其次，塑造平民形象，拉近與選民的距離。奧巴馬還在人際關(guān)系網(wǎng)站Facebook上建立自己的檔案，支持者可以將他加為好友，還可以給他留言，這樣做更拉近了他與選民的距離，使人們感受到奧巴馬親民的形象和高超的溝通技巧。再次，高效的網(wǎng)絡(luò)籌款不斷增加競選資本。奧巴馬在對外宣傳上一直說自己是最窮的參議員，可是據(jù)美國媒體2008年12月4日的報道： 美國民主黨向聯(lián)邦選舉委員會新提交的報告顯示，奧巴馬總計籌得的競選經(jīng)費高達近7．5億美元，創(chuàng)下美國總統(tǒng)選舉歷史上個人籌款紀錄。僅美國大選日（11月4日）前后幾周就籌得1．04億美元。直至大選結(jié)束，奧巴馬選舉經(jīng)費中還有近3000萬美元的剩余。這其中87％的錢是從網(wǎng)絡(luò)籌款而來的。

五、成功的演講

奧巴馬的演講，既激情四射、振奮人心，又能保證主題突出，比如著名的《yes，we can！》，《tonight，now，webelieve！》，更有支持者把《yes，we can！》的全文弄成歌詞在網(wǎng)上流傳。成功的演講給予選民信心，達到認可奧巴馬個人能力的作用。

六、吸引時尚界的關(guān)注，塑造時尚理念。

對于時裝界來說，奧巴馬是他們的救星，所以他們支持奧巴馬。兩者互動，無疑時尚的宣傳使奧巴馬獲得了更多的受益，年輕人都關(guān)注最新時尚，而時裝設(shè)計師把印有他頭像的裙子、板鞋，印有他名字的針織衫、高跟靴子向世人展現(xiàn)，使奧巴馬成為睿智、個性且擁有優(yōu)雅氣質(zhì)和都市魅力的現(xiàn)代型男人形象。其次，不排斥時尚界的娛樂化創(chuàng)造。奧巴馬的藝術(shù)形象一開始是以海報的形式示人的，其作者是支持奧巴馬的街頭品牌Obey的設(shè)計師謝弗·費爾利。因為擔心自己曾有發(fā)表過批評美國政府作品的“不良記錄”，擔心自己設(shè)計奧巴馬作品會給奧巴馬帶來負面效果，他給奧巴馬陣營寫設(shè)計申請信，三個月后收到了肯定的答復(fù)。

Four years ago as I had the privilege to travel all across the country and meet Americans from all walks of life.I decided nobody else should have to endure the heartbreak of a broken health care system.No one in the wealthiest nation on earth should go because they get sick.Nobody should have to tell their daughters or sons the decisions they can and cannot make for themselves are constrained because of some politicians in Washington.四年前我有幸周游了全國，遇到了各行各業(yè)的人們。我下定了決心不讓任何人由于醫(yī)療保健系統(tǒng)的不健全而心碎，不讓這個世界上最富有的的國家的任何人因為疾病而窮困潦倒。不讓任何人需要告訴自己的子女，他們能做什么，不能做什么，會由華盛頓的某些政客而左右。
