Discover Yourself Ever since the accelerated development of human civilization, perpetual scientific discoveries of nature had accompanied mankind all along the journey. It was by discovering the world around us that human beings have been able to lead a more sophisticated life. However, as G.K.Chesterton once said, “One may understand the cosmos, but never the ego;the self is more distant than any star.” Similarly, our life is a journey of unrelenting efforts to discover more of ourselves. When I was 6 I constantly pictured myself as an elegant and skilled pianist rendering Chopin’s nocturne beautifully on the stage, receiving warm applause after my performance. As I furthered my piano lessons, it was hard to be oblivious of my non-gifted skills.Sometimes I couldn’t help but have this feeling of despair when I woke up to the reality and discovered that my goal was unrealistic.Brutal but real, it was the first time I had discovered that I couldn’t have it all. When I was 12 I thought the coolest job in the entire universe was to be a surgeon.I spent hours and hours watching the drama “Grey’s Anatomy”, and couldn’t help falling in love with the kind of life those doctors lead on the screen.I was utterly mesmerized by the scalpel and all those fancy medical terms they use. However, I stopped dreaming about being a surgeon when I discovered that it was the idea of being a surgeon that appealed to me, not what it truly was. Therefore, the dream ended and I discovered some more about myself. This year I turned 16, I could proudly say I do not dream to be but ascertain to pursue being a lawyer in the future.Since junior high school I was always awarded the “most eloquent debater” in every single debate I participated in.I cannot only think logically but also deliver my thoughts promptly. My huge interest in philosophy also adds to my reasoning whenever I tried to argue on something equivocal.Being aware of the obstacles and hardships on the way to becoming a great lawyer never panics me, for the simple reason that I have this faith and passion in what I am aspiring after.G.K.Chesterton was absolutely correct, the most complicated part of comprehending the world is the study of the somehow smaller world—ourselves.I subsequently realized that growing up is the process of discovering ourselves;we get to know what we truly are, and become who we dream to be.As we shape ourselves, and as we shape our lives, we gradually become more aware of our limits and potentials and consequently learn to adjust to what’s out there. And by that, ladies and gentleman, I’m proud to say that I’ve discovered part of myself, still discovering today standing on this stage, and hopefully a lot more in the future.I will always keep this embedded into my heart. That things do not change, we do.

today i’m going to talk about discover yourself.things do not change, we do!later she is kissing tom on the other side of the campus.and that’s very normal these days.and secondly i think is because for puppy love is very detrimental to our future development because this particular stage of our time what we should do is to allocate our time to studying and participating in ex-curriculum activity in order to go to the wonderful college in the future.and time is scarce because of that i think as shake spear once said love is blind and a lot of young students thought they’ve lost themselves in this procedure.and that is very very costly.and so in conclusion, we’d like view this problem from the view of economics, when we are making more rational choices, we should consider the marginal benefits and marginal costs for this particular problem and in the case of puppy love, i see the marginal costs exceeds the marginal benefit a lot.and that is reason why i think this is something we should not be approbated and for the case of those people who are thinking that true love might be lost through this way.i would they that the true love can wait, because if not, it wouldn’t be true love at all, and we’ll have nothing to lose.and that is the reason why i have this kind of opinion.17歲深圳外國語學(xué)校高三學(xué)生諸康妮,收到了7所美國高校錄取書。

諸康妮全國英語演講大賽冠軍演講稿 today i’m going to talk about discovering yourself.ever since the accelerated(【?ksel?reitid】加速)development of human civilization(文明,文化), perpetual【p?pet?u?l】(永久的;不斷的;四季開花的;無期限的)the around us that human beings have been able to live a more sophisticated[s?fistikeitid](復(fù)雜的;精

it was by discovering the around us that human beings have been able to live a more sophisticated life. however, as g.k.chesterton once said “one may understand the cosmos, but never the ego, the self is more distance than any star.

thus, a life is a journey of unrelenting offers to discover more of ourselves. when i was six, i constantly picture myself as an elegant and skilled pianist rendering xiao bangs nocturnal beautifully on the stage, receiving award and applause after my performance.當(dāng)我六歲時(shí),就不斷想象自己像一個(gè)優(yōu)雅和嫻熟的鋼琴家,在舞臺上演奏肖邦的優(yōu)美的小夜曲,在演奏結(jié)束后收獲著獎勵和掌聲 however, as i further my piano lessons, it was hard to be oblivious of my non-gifted skills. sometimes i couldnt help but have this feeling of despair, when i woke up to the reality and discover that my goal was unrealistic. brutal but real. it was the first time;i had discovered that i couldnt have it at all, when i was twelve.12歲的時(shí)候,我第一次發(fā)現(xiàn)我不可能成為鋼琴演奏家。i thought the coolest job in the entire universe was to be a surgeon. i spent hours and hours watching the drama greys anatomy and couldnt help falling in love with the kind of live those doctor lead on the scream. i was utterly mesmerized by the scalpel and all those fancy medical terms that use. however, i stop to dream about being a surgeon when i discover that it was the idea of being a surgeon that appeal to me, not what it truly was. as a result, the dream ended and i discovered some more about myself. this year, i turned sixteen and i could proudly say i do not dream to be, but ascertain to peruse being a lower in the future. since junior high school i had always been awarded the most eloquent debater in every single debater participated in.i can not only think logically, but also deliver my thought promptly. my huge interest in philosophy also acts my reason in whenever i tried to argue with something equivocal.

i subsequently realized that growing up is a process that discover yourselves.

as we shape ourselves and as we shape of our lives.

i would always keep this in embedded in my heart.

第七屆希望之星小學(xué)組選手諸康妮:學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)驗(yàn) 我是這樣學(xué)習(xí)英語的 en another window for us.it makes me have an ever-strong desire to promote my english further.besides, i have found out that watching original english movies and reading original english books are the good ways to learn english.the english language is just like a deep ocean.you can see people use different ways to express themselves.you can learn a lot of historic and cultural backgrounds about the language.now i have read , , and so on.i have watched the movies , , etc.those books and movies made me believe the world is colorful, beautiful and changeable.i am determined to learn more english in the futur e.

the way i teach my child english er.firstly, i gave her the gift—an ignition of a passion for learni ng english.when my daughter was just 14-month old, once i pointed to the sky saying: “moon” to her, i repeated again and again.then, she could repeat it clearly.this was the first english word she learned.after that i often taught her by naming objects in english, such as: “what’s that?” “that’s a tree.” “what’s this?” “this is a car.” i almost pointed everything we met on the street.the foundations of language were constructed.when she was 3-year old, i bought a lot of english dvds for her.they were cartoon plays, very colorful with great fun.she liked them very much.she watched those cartoon plays one hour before going to kindergarten every morning.besides, i set a rule for her: she must be able to recite 3 new english words before going to bed every evening.in order to consolidate what she had already learned, she would seize upon every opportunity to make use of her newly-learned words or phases in her conversation with me or with the people we met in english corner.i would organize a simple english story for her, and let her guess what the story said.she liked the game very much.she has built up her vocabulary and has a strong desire in learning english.don’t worry to make mistakes, try to learn from your mistake s.language has rules, but these rules are not absolute.sometimes we learn to break them.usually, a verb in english will have a simple form-i see-and a past form—i saw.but these are many exceptions.a small child will say i run and i run, i go and i go.and this is logical, but wrong.i have to correct her: i ran last night.and i went to school yesterday.why? i have to say: this is so because it is so.she learned the rules of grammar steadily by this way.i encouraged her: “practice speaking english everyday.don’t worry to make mistakes, try to learn from your mistakes.” and we a lso play with the language.reading the original books is a great help in learning the lang uage.she went to school at 6-year old.she learned a lot from school education.there are at least 2 english lessons in her school each day.i have never taught her the textbook;instead, i begin to guide her reading original english books.reading can enrich our knowledge.literature is the immortal part of history;it is the best and most enduring part of personality.she has read different kinds of books such as children stories, fares like the snow white, the daughter of the sea, and detective stories, fables and so on.now she has read gone with the wind, jane eyre, little women, hamlet etc.she said reading is much interesting than watching tv.i think thi s is what i have expected.?

      從小學(xué)到初中,楊粵祺80%的精力用在學(xué)業(yè)上,“畢竟要先考到一個(gè)好的高中”,剩下的時(shí)間和精力會參加校學(xué)生會的一些活動,還有就是跟學(xué)長們聊他們的經(jīng)驗(yàn),搜索信息,以便對高中學(xué)習(xí)生活做出合理且有針對性的規(guī)劃。她了解到,如果想出國,要注重發(fā)展自己的綜合素質(zhì),有領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力、與眾不同、懂得創(chuàng)新、有目標(biāo),這些都是國外高校所看重的。盡管能被保送到重點(diǎn)高中,但她認(rèn)為自己更適合在深中自由的環(huán)境下培養(yǎng)發(fā)展自己,所以便放棄保送,考取深中國際體系。

      在高中,楊粵祺更多的將時(shí)間留給了參加一些實(shí)踐活動?!拔矣?0%的精力完成課業(yè),準(zhǔn)備升學(xué)考試,騰出來的50%精力用來做自己更喜歡、想探索的事情?!备咭粫r(shí)她和同學(xué)創(chuàng)辦翻譯雜志,她主要負(fù)責(zé)選稿、市場推廣等工作?!巴瑢W(xué)們選好文章、排好版,等著下月出版,但我還沒有拉到贊助。壓力很大。”楊粵祺說,為了拉幾千元的贊助,她曾在短時(shí)間內(nèi)跑了深圳幾十家跟教育有關(guān)的機(jī)構(gòu)。楊粵祺對商業(yè)與設(shè)計(jì)的結(jié)合非常感興趣。高二下學(xué)期她在學(xué)校開辦了一個(gè)公司,在尋找商機(jī)的過程中,她發(fā)現(xiàn)深中學(xué)生的校園榮譽(yù)感很強(qiáng),便想到做一些既能展示學(xué)校榮譽(yù)感,且美觀又實(shí)用的東西,最終她將腕帶和優(yōu)盤結(jié)合起來,上面還印有深圳中學(xué)的logo。想法出來后,楊粵祺和其他同學(xué)一起設(shè)計(jì),還聯(lián)系學(xué)校附近的電子廠生產(chǎn)該產(chǎn)品,在學(xué)校推廣。因此她還被選拔代表中國參加在印尼舉行的亞太地區(qū)青少年商業(yè)比賽。

      楊粵祺還曾在深中的咖啡屋內(nèi)當(dāng)過一年的廚師,做奶茶的技藝是學(xué)長學(xué)姐教給她的。她告訴記者,在高中參加的這些活動都是她喜歡的,極大程度上鍛煉了她,也因此培養(yǎng)了自己的獨(dú)立思考和領(lǐng)導(dǎo)能力。

      找到自己熱情和擅長之所在高效的學(xué)習(xí)是楊粵祺一直奉行的宗旨,此外,她還認(rèn)為到了高中除了上學(xué)校的課程完成課業(yè)外,自己要為自己“開課”,了解哲學(xué)、宗教等不同的領(lǐng)域。對于英語,楊粵祺有自己的一套學(xué)習(xí)方法,她認(rèn)為學(xué)習(xí)不能太應(yīng)試,多讀一些英語原著、背誦一些篇目都是不錯(cuò)的英語學(xué)習(xí)選擇。開始時(shí)選擇一些薄、簡單、情節(jié)吸引人的英語讀物學(xué)習(xí),“不要貪數(shù)量,要真正讀懂,讀完一整頁后沒讀懂,可以上網(wǎng)查下這頁到底講了什么,以此來印證自己到底理解了多少,有多少是錯(cuò)誤的?!睏罨涭鬟€會制訂學(xué)習(xí)計(jì)劃表,每段時(shí)間都有需要優(yōu)先處理的事情。“比如今年五月我有三場考試,那我四五月可能就主攻考試,處于‘閉關(guān)’學(xué)習(xí)的狀態(tài),而二三月份,我會參加活動多一些,比如去做演講,講自己申請大學(xué)的過程,或者輔導(dǎo)學(xué)弟學(xué)妹,處于‘出關(guān)’狀態(tài)?!? 在楊粵祺看來,不管做什么事情都要找到自己的熱情和擅長之所在,不能盲目的隨大流。“像現(xiàn)在出國風(fēng)潮越來越火,一些學(xué)生在選擇活動方面會跟風(fēng),千萬不能為了做活動而做,因?yàn)檫@樣做在浪費(fèi)你的精力,做不開心的事情,很難有熱情,也很難讓你與眾不同。當(dāng)你將有限的精力放在你不喜歡的事情上,就少了嘗試別的事情的機(jī)會,你不知道自己在哪一方面更感興趣、更有能力?!? 據(jù)了解,楊粵祺去賓夕法尼亞大學(xué)沃頓商學(xué)院學(xué)的是商科,她告訴記者會考慮輔修第二專業(yè)。對于父母對她的教育方式,楊粵祺用“平等交流”來形容,因?yàn)樗透改钢g大部分時(shí)間是朋友的關(guān)系。

      任思遠(yuǎn):

      享受學(xué)習(xí)帶來的痛苦與歡樂

      很多初識任思遠(yuǎn)的人會用“陽光、帥氣、有主見”來形容這個(gè)高三男生。盡管他說自己跟其他同學(xué)沒什么兩樣,比他厲害的同學(xué)還有很多,盡管他說自己沒什么獨(dú)特的學(xué)習(xí)方法,他之所以能夠取得這樣的成績都是學(xué)校培養(yǎng)出來的。但因?yàn)橥瑫r(shí)被美國8所名校看中,任思遠(yuǎn)還是成為了很多人矚目的焦點(diǎn)。對于將要選擇哪所大學(xué),任思遠(yuǎn)尚未決定,但根據(jù)他此前的說法,大概會在耶魯大學(xué)或哥倫比亞大學(xué)中選取一個(gè)。面對師弟師妹的“取經(jīng)”,他簡單的回答說要學(xué)會“享受”而不是“享樂”生活,要享受學(xué)習(xí)給你帶來的痛苦和快樂,然后沿著自己的道路堅(jiān)定地走下去。

      善于發(fā)現(xiàn)機(jī)遇抓住機(jī)遇

      他的“與眾不同”也可以從一個(gè)小細(xì)節(jié)中看出,在近日深圳中學(xué)召開的一場記者會上,有記者問他如何申請美國名校,有何經(jīng)驗(yàn)以及最終如何在耶魯大學(xué)和哥倫比亞大學(xué)之間作出選擇?任思遠(yuǎn)說,“沒什么特別的,申請也就那么幾個(gè)步驟”“還沒想好最終要選擇哪個(gè),或許你有什么好的建議嗎?”他幽默的反問惹得在場人士紛紛發(fā)笑。

      任思遠(yuǎn)說,他的出國選擇,源于一次中考說明會。當(dāng)時(shí)正在考慮保送的他,被深圳中學(xué)的出國課程吸引,也很好奇國外的學(xué)習(xí)生活,于是和父母商量后便進(jìn)入了深中的國際課程體系,開始為出國做準(zhǔn)備。

      如何取得“sat2200分(滿分2400分),托福118分(滿分120分),績點(diǎn)4.2”一連串的高分、如何能夠被國外頂尖大學(xué)錄取,這是大家最想了解的。談及為何會被美國頂尖名?!翱瓷稀?,任思遠(yuǎn)說:“大概我能清楚地認(rèn)識自己、發(fā)掘自己吧。清楚認(rèn)識自己是指能認(rèn)識到機(jī)遇,并且抓住它?!彼€告訴記者,在學(xué)校學(xué)習(xí)有挑戰(zhàn)性的ap課程以及參加各式各樣的活動和實(shí)踐其實(shí)都是在為申請國外大學(xué)做很好的準(zhǔn)備。

      學(xué)習(xí)語言的關(guān)鍵在于定目標(biāo)

      任思遠(yuǎn)的英語特別好,他還在初中時(shí)自學(xué)德語,并積極參加德語社活動,他曾受德國政府資助去德國學(xué)習(xí)了三個(gè)星期的德語。關(guān)于語言的學(xué)習(xí),任思遠(yuǎn)說自己的經(jīng)驗(yàn)是定目標(biāo),將目光放得長遠(yuǎn)一些,“當(dāng)時(shí)我就想成為一名英語播音員,然后經(jīng)常聽voa練習(xí)口語?!闭f起學(xué)習(xí)英語,他非常感謝爸爸。上初中時(shí),他的mp3里都是爸爸幫他弄的voa朗讀文章,爸爸還會在周末陪他一起大聲讀英語。

Ever since the accelerated development of human civilization, perpetual scientific discoveries of nature had accompanied mankind all along the journey. When I was 6 I constantly pictured myself as an elegant and skilled pianist rendering Chopin’s nocturne beautifully on the stage, receiving warm applause after my

performance. My huge interest in philosophy also adds to my

reasoning whenever I tried to argue on something equivocal.Being aware of the obstacles and hardships on the way to becoming a great lawyer never panics me, for the simple reason that I have this faith and passion in what I am aspiring after.G.K.Chesterton was absolutely correct, the most complicated part of comprehending the world is the study of the somehow smaller world—ourselves.I subsequently realized that growing up is the process of discovering ourselves;we get to know what we truly are, and become who we dream to be.As we shape ourselves, and as we shape our lives, we gradually become more aware of our limits and potentials and consequently learn to

adjust to what’s out there. And by that, ladies and gentleman, I’m proud to say that I’ve discovered part of myself, still discovering today standing on this stage, and hopefully a lot more in the future.I will always keep this embedded into my heart that things do not change, we do.

      Discover yourself.

Today I'm going to talk about discover yourself.

Ever since the accelerated development of human civilization, perpetual scientific discovery of nature have companied mankind all along the journey.

It was by discovering the around us that human beings have been able to live a more sophisticated life.

However, as G.K.Chesterton once said “one may understand the cosmos, but never the ego, the self is more distance than any star.

Thus, a life is a journey of unrelenting offers to discover more of ourselves.

When I was six, I constantly picture myself as an elegant and skilled pianist rendering Xiao Bang's nocturnal beautifully on the stage, receiving award and applause after my performance.

However, as I further my piano lessons, it was hard to be oblivious of my non-gifted skills.

Sometimes I couldn't help but have this feeling of despair, when I woke up to the reality and discover that my goal was unrealistic. Brutal but real.

It was the first time;I had discovered that I couldn't have it at all, when I was twelve.12歲的時(shí)候,我第一次發(fā)現(xiàn)我不可能成為鋼琴演奏家。

I thought the coolest job in the entire universe was to be a surgeon.

I spent hours and hours watching the drama Grey's Anatomy and couldn't help falling in love with the kind of live those doctor lead on the scream.

Being aware of the obstacles and the hardships on the way becoming a great lawyer never panics me, for the simple reason that I have this faith and passion in what I am aspiring after.

G.K.Chesterton was absolutely correct;the most complicated part of comprehending the world is the study of somehow smaller world, ourselves.

I subsequently realized that growing up is a process that discover yourselves.

We gradually become more aware of limits and potentials, and consequently learn to adjust learn what's out there, and by that ladies and gentlemen I'm proud to say that I have discovered part of myself, sue to discovering today and definitely a lot more in the future.

I would always keep this in embedded in my heart.

Things do not change, we do!

First of all, I would like to say that this is a rather prevalent phenomenon these days, we can see a lot of stu dents around me are having this young puppy love and I think it’s

utterly normal for them because I can understand why they do this. They try to seek recognition from the other sex instead of academic success. However, Imorally against it because it’s sudd enly detrimental to our future development and it would never last long.First of all, as we can understand that we are still rather immature psychologically in this current stage. And most important thing for love is that we cannot actually thoroughly understand what love is.And for most important part is that I can see students around me having puppy love for simply messing around, seeking pleasure instead of making

commitments. And because of this kind of flippancy attitude, I think all they could do is to messaround and that is why puppy love dies in the blink of an eye.And for example I could say, Mary would be dating David on the first day of November, however two days later she is kissing Tom on the other side of the campus. And that’s very normal th ese days. And secondly I think is because for puppy love is very detrimental to our future

development because this particular stage of our time what we should do is to allocate our time to studying and participating in ex-curriculum activity in order to go to the wonderful college in the future. And time is scarce because of that I think as Shake spear once said love is blind and a lot of young students thought they’ve lost themselves in this procedure. And that is very very costly. And so in conclusion, w e’d like view this problem from the view of economics, when we are making more rational choices, we should consider the marginal benefits and marginal costs for this particular problem and in the case of puppy love, I see the marginal costs exceeds the marginal benefit a lot.And that is reason why I think this is something we should not be approbated and for the case of those people who are thinking that true love might be lost through this way.I would they that the true love can wait, because if not, it wouldn’t be true love at all, and we’ll have nothing to lose.and that is the reason why I have this kind of opinion.

I think the reason why I choose to be a lawyer in the future I choose to pursue this career is different from choosing to become a pianist and surgeon is because there was one time I think this kind of career that’s best fits me.I’m a sort of debater in my early days and I have this kind of technique in order to pursue this career. And that is the practical reason why I think this is why this career is best fits me.And secondly, because personally I have watched a movie called the time to kill it is about a case where a black girl got raped and the only lawyer who step to fight for her is a white lawyer, and the whole process is very complicated but what I see from that story is that I’m very interested in human rights and I want to argue for these people who had their rights trampled and their freedom, how to say, steal away. And if I can be that lawyer, although sometimes I may go against my will and argue for a murderer, a reaper or a criminal, I will always remember that I have taken the oath, that I have to do this job this is my obligation. And I think because of these reasons I have this passion becaus e I love this job, and I have technique because I’m a debater and a speaker in public situations. And this is why this is different from the other choices.

I think love is something that cannot be measured qualifiedly, but the reason why I brought up this terminology in economic is because it first jumps to my mind when I think about making rational choices, and love is something that make us irrational and that is the

reason why put out these terminologies, but I think to answer your question of what love is, personally I would say that, knowing from parents view, and also looking at different cases around me from novel, films and movies.I think love is something about commitment. It’s something of responsibility, not just love for the first sight.Because if you believe in love for the first sight, you should believe that it would be gone instantly away. And because of that I think love is something should be taken at heart, it’s not just physical attraction.Because one it would die out. What makes for love go for forever is kind of responsibility that we have to shoulder. That is something that we should not be given away instantly, and that is what I think is love.
