環(huán)境保護與英語

如今，英語與很多方面都有聯(lián)系，如文化、科技、環(huán)境、經(jīng)濟、教育等等。就經(jīng)濟來說實行對外開放之后，中國的經(jīng)濟迅速發(fā)展，各發(fā)面得到了很大的提高，國與國之間的合作也增多了，而這中間無疑就需要和外國人交流，而交流就用得到英語。而對于教育來說，由于經(jīng)濟的快速發(fā)展，我們國家就需要更多高端的科技人才，我們的教育要提高，要與經(jīng)濟的發(fā)展相適應(yīng)，所以我們需要學習國外的科學、技術(shù)、先進思想，從而就會有愈來愈多的人會想去留學，而這中間就用得到英語。那下面我就環(huán)境來具體談?wù)勊c英語的關(guān)聯(lián)。

1972年6月，我國政府代表團參加了聯(lián)合國人類環(huán)境會議，會議通過了《人類壞境宣言》，環(huán)境保護開始擺上國家議事日程。盡管中國參加了此次會議，但是由于當時的中國環(huán)境問題不是那么的突出，所以并沒有引起太大的反響。人們還像原來一樣過著日子。在農(nóng)村人們還是亂砍濫伐，森林的覆蓋率在一天天地減少，環(huán)境被不斷地破壞著，環(huán)境問題被一天天的突出。到20世紀90年代環(huán)境問題引起了政府的注意并在1998年成立了環(huán)保協(xié)會而且在2008年升格為環(huán)境保護部。

從20世紀80年代到90年代中間有10幾年的時間，在這幾年的時間里中國人以犧牲環(huán)境來發(fā)展經(jīng)濟，經(jīng)濟的發(fā)展是建立在破壞環(huán)境的基礎(chǔ)上。而在90年代人們終于知道了破壞環(huán)境的后果。于是開始尋求方法來解決，開始就環(huán)境與國外交流觀點，意見與方法。開始了解各個國家是如何來看待和解決這個這個問題的。而就在這時英語在其中起到了很大的作用，很多國家的人都說的是英語，即使不是說的是英語，但都懂一些，因為英語是作為一門國際語言的，到任何的國家，只要會說英語都不成問題。而現(xiàn)在中國要與世界各國交流就得使用英語與之交流。

后來經(jīng)過我國學者對美國的環(huán)境保護方面的研究發(fā)現(xiàn)，美國在1880年羅斯福是總統(tǒng)的時候就開始保護美國的土地了。并且美國環(huán)保協(xié)會早在1968年就成立并開始參與了美國的環(huán)境保護工作。而且美國民眾在1960年就開始關(guān)心化學物品對環(huán)境造成的危害。面對這樣的發(fā)現(xiàn)對中國無疑是一個沉重的打擊，因為當時的中國對環(huán)境根本沒有過任何的環(huán)境保護的工作，人民群眾對于破壞環(huán)境也沒有任何的行動，根本就沒有人關(guān)心環(huán)境造成的危害。面對這樣的情形，中國政府趕緊采取行動。在社會工作中不停地告訴人們破壞環(huán)境所帶來的危害影響，并且進行了一系列的退耕還林的號召和在全國各地不斷的宣傳，必要時還采取了用法律途徑來解決。在一定程度上緩解了當時的環(huán)境破壞嚴重的情況。

由于中國政府的不斷努力，不斷改進，不斷的與不同國家的交流，探討和創(chuàng)新應(yīng)對環(huán)境破壞的方法，向不同的國家吸取他們應(yīng)對環(huán)境的策略。中國取得了一定的成就，環(huán)境也得到了改善。并且由于不斷的宣傳外國民眾對環(huán)境保護所采取的行為和翻譯了一些外國的一些關(guān)于環(huán)境的著作如《寂靜的秋天》等等，中國的民眾也開始慢慢的意識到環(huán)境的重要性和破壞環(huán)境所帶來的影響。所以他們也開始付諸于行動，他們慢慢地不再亂砍濫伐，盡量少使用塑料袋并且由于政府的這種對環(huán)境的強烈的態(tài)度很多工廠也慢慢的減少排放污水，廢氣和改進了他們的設(shè)備；在農(nóng)村里，人們不再使用以前的那種暗暗的黃黃的燈而是使用節(jié)能燈，人們也學會了保護森林，鳥和珍稀動物，懂得了在地球上只有與大自然和諧相處才能讓我們的生活更加的美好。如果破壞了大自然，自然界的生物鏈，生態(tài)系統(tǒng)，人們將會無法在地球上生存，或許人類會滅亡就像恐龍一樣永遠消失在地球上?？偠灾?，人們的環(huán)境意識愈來愈強，在日常的生活中人們隨口都會談到環(huán)境問題，環(huán)境問題成為了一個熱點的問題，成為了人們飯后的閑談話題，這給中國的環(huán)境保護帶來了很大程度上的幫助。

隨著環(huán)境問題漸漸成為國際熱點話題，國際上也在為保護環(huán)境在不斷地努力著，各國也為更好的營造生活環(huán)境而努力，努力地減少污水，廢氣，沙塵暴和空氣污染而努力。因此人們也在不斷的接觸一些相關(guān)的英語單詞，詞組，這些單詞在我們的生活中隨處可見。如Only

one Earth 只有一個地球、One Earth One Family 一個地球，一個家庭、Give Earth a Chance 讓地球充滿生機、Green Cities-Plan for the Planet!營造綠色城市，呵護地球家園、國家環(huán)境保護總局 State Environmental Protection Administration(SEPA)、白色污染 white pollution、垃圾填埋場 refuse landfill、水土流失 water and soil erosion、森林覆蓋率 forest coverage、防風林 wind breaks、防沙林 sand breaks、溫室效應(yīng) greenhouse effect、綠化面積 afforested areas;greening space、綠化面積 afforested areas;greening space、空氣污染濃度 air pollution concentration等還有很多。

雖然中國為應(yīng)對環(huán)境破壞做了很多的努力，但我覺得還存在一些問題。如，在中國很多高校有商務(wù)英語，經(jīng)濟英語的專業(yè)，但好像沒有針對環(huán)境保護的的相關(guān)的英語的專業(yè)，現(xiàn)在環(huán)境問題成為一個熱點，而我們?nèi)绻胍淖兾覀兊沫h(huán)境的話，我們需要借鑒其他國家的方法，而如果我們沒有相關(guān)知識作為基礎(chǔ)的話，我們根本就讀不懂更別說借鑒，所以我覺得應(yīng)該開設(shè)相關(guān)的專業(yè)，以此來更好的借鑒和學習，除此之外，雖然我們國家翻譯了一些相關(guān)的著作，但是遠遠不夠，還應(yīng)該翻譯更多的這方面的書籍來供人們閱讀。而這也跟英語相關(guān)。

英語作為一門語言，如果我們不懂不學，我們就無法和他國進行最基本的語言交流，也不能學習到他國的看法，觀點，不能學習到他們?yōu)榄h(huán)境保護而采取的種種措施，也不能使中國人看到外國的相關(guān)的著作，去學習他們好的方面。所以英語與環(huán)境保護有很大的相關(guān)性。
