在外貿(mào)實(shí)務(wù)中，采用禮貌用語和委婉措辭即能展現(xiàn)外貿(mào)工作者的人文素質(zhì)，又利于樹立良好的企業(yè)形象，有助于雙方建立積極的貿(mào)易關(guān)系。在外貿(mào)業(yè)務(wù)的具體環(huán)節(jié)中，英文函電中 措詞的禮貌、客氣主要體現(xiàn)在以下幾個(gè)方面：

1）在收到對方的詢盤(inquiry)、發(fā)盤(offer)、還盤(counter off)時(shí)，不管能否接受，都應(yīng)以禮貌的語言表達(dá)謝意。例如：Our market survey informs us that you are interested in the import of machinery.We shall be pleased to receive your inquiries for machinery made in Britain.[1]

3）在向交易對象提出希望或要求時(shí)，同樣需要注意禮貌用語。例如：

Your priority to the consideration of the above request will

be appreciated.譯文： 如你方能夠優(yōu)優(yōu)先考慮上述要求，我方將不勝感激。
