In Nanping, southeast China’s Fujian Province, a woman villager has established the first fruit-and-vegetable women’s cooperative, leading the whole village in striving for economic prosperity.Chen Xiuli, a middle-aged mother of two in Shunchang, a county under the administration of Nanping, suggested planting bamboo fungus under the local trees because underplanting can save land and cultivation costs and promote the growth of trees.As a result of her efforts, Shunchang is now known as ‘home of the bamboo fungus’, with output there accounting for 16 percent of the national yield.Creating More Demand

“Lack of access to markets is the major reason why villagers are held back economically,” said Chen.“Geographical isolation, poor infrastructure and lack of information or sales channels means that many villagers have no idea how to sell their farm produce.”

Chen was born in Dali town in Shunchang County.In the summer of 1990, she set up a stand to sell some agricultural products in the town.One day, a passer-by asked her whether she would like to help him purchase a load of watermelons, and she said yes.She was extremely happy when the passer-by afterwards gave her 20 yuan(US$ 3.3)as compensation for delaying her half-day business, because at that time the daily wages of local farmers was only 3 yuan(US$ 0.49 dollars).The watermelon growers also thanked her for helping their business.It was then that the idea came to her to collect and sell bamboo fungus outside the village.When she heard that the

purchase price of bamboo fungus in Jianou, a county-level city of Nanping, was much higher than

in her village, she and her best friends, Zhang Fengdi and Xie Yayu, decided to collect bamboo fungus in Dali and its neighboring villages and then transport them to Jianou.“We did not have cellphones at that time so we had to go door-to-door on foot to ask the villagers whether they had any bamboo fungus for us to collect.We carried the collected bamboo fungus to Chen’s home and then transported them to Jianou.I was exhausted all the time because I would not be home until midnight but still had to get up early the next day to prepare breakfast for my family,” said Zhang.In 1995, the women collected 1,000 kilos of bamboo fungus and netted 100 yuan(US$ 16.3)in profit.It was then that they thought about asking the other villagers to help them.In 1996, 14 villagers joined Chen’s group to collect bamboo fungus, with at least two villagers responsible for each village.The volume of collected bamboo fungus surged and at the same time profits climbed gradually.Some time later, they expanded their range to watermelons, oranges, mao bamboo, chestnuts and more.According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics on January 4, 2013, the per capita annual income of farmers in Fujian Province was 9,967yuan(US$ 1,624), but each member of Chen’s team earned over 20,000 yuan(over US$ 3,258).Establishing a Cooperative

陳秀麗的山溝溝果蔬專業(yè)合作社原來僅有7名股東，去年發(fā)展至52人，人均分紅8000多元，2013年初進(jìn)一步壯大，股金擴(kuò)展至120萬元，入社社員113人，其中有53名二女結(jié)扎戶、獨(dú)生子女戶等育齡婦女，成為南平市首家由育齡農(nóng)村婦女組織參股的專業(yè)合作社?！吧綔蠝稀比缃褚褤碛泻诵姆N養(yǎng)基地1670畝，帶動(dòng)周邊高陽、嵐下等鄉(xiāng)鎮(zhèn)800多位農(nóng)戶，輻射基地種養(yǎng)面積8000多畝，成為順昌

從一車西瓜到流通大戶

“如果沒有那車西瓜，我現(xiàn)在還只是一個(gè)圍著丈夫孩子和鍋臺(tái)轉(zhuǎn)的農(nóng)村家庭婦女，還在鎮(zhèn)里的農(nóng)貿(mào)市場(chǎng)擺攤?！?4歲的陳秀麗說。

陳秀麗原是大歷鎮(zhèn)立墩村民，與不少農(nóng)村孩子一樣，有著艱難的成長(zhǎng)經(jīng)歷。15歲時(shí)父親去世，自強(qiáng)自立的她為了貼補(bǔ)家用，小學(xué)畢業(yè)后就到運(yùn)輸公司跟車賣票，到筷子廠打工??但這些都不足以完成她改善家中窘?jīng)r的愿望。21歲那年，她嫁給大歷村同齡人徐太詩(shī)，就在鎮(zhèn)上擺攤設(shè)點(diǎn)賣些農(nóng)副產(chǎn)品。

1990年夏天，一位過路的客戶見她賣的西瓜個(gè)大瓢，在她攤前徘徊許久問她能否幫他進(jìn)一車西瓜。爽快的陳秀麗答應(yīng)幫助他到村里西瓜大戶收瓜，但因?yàn)榈R了下午的生意要求能否給20元作為補(bǔ)償。陳秀麗開心地說，當(dāng)時(shí)農(nóng)民一天工錢僅3元，20元補(bǔ)償款可謂是一筆大數(shù)目。

這趟生意，自己不僅賺了錢，鄰里鄉(xiāng)親和客戶都十分感謝她。有了第一次的成功，陳秀麗琢磨著如何將山里的東西賣到山外？1995年，陳秀麗已是兩個(gè)年幼女兒的母親。是年春節(jié)，她到建甌市房道鎮(zhèn)姐夫家玩，打聽到姐夫朋友在做竹筍流通，每公斤的收購(gòu)價(jià)比大歷及其周邊鄉(xiāng)鎮(zhèn)高出不少。她與姐夫商量得到允諾返鄉(xiāng)后，與要好的姐妹張鳳娣和謝雅玉商量到各村收筍。

“那時(shí)沒有手機(jī)，我們?nèi)齻€(gè)人就一個(gè)村一個(gè)村的走，有筍就收來，挑到鎮(zhèn)里的陳秀麗家，最后集中雇車運(yùn)往建甌?！睆堷P娣回憶當(dāng)時(shí)的艱辛說。我們收筍一般是下午出發(fā)，收回集中到陳秀麗家，經(jīng)常是傍晚甚至半夜，睡不了一會(huì)兒，第二天一早又得起來給丈夫孩子做飯，那段時(shí)間累得是一趴到桌上就睡著。

“第一車收了1000公斤筍，凈賺了100元，可扣除自己的差旅費(fèi)和損耗僅基本保本，真有點(diǎn)灰心不想干了。”謝雅玉接過話茬。陳秀麗堅(jiān)持干下去，說從鄉(xiāng)下挑出來那么累都熬過來了，與其在家閑著還不如去闖。

大家都覺得筍要有量才有賺頭，要多找些人手幫忙。商量后，大家各村回村發(fā)展人幫忙收購(gòu)，然后統(tǒng)一挑到陳秀麗家里，由陳秀麗聯(lián)系對(duì)外銷售。第二年，陳秀

麗的“姐妹團(tuán)”發(fā)展到了14個(gè)人，每村基本有2人，冬春筍的收購(gòu)量也開始大幅度上升，這個(gè)育齡婦女小團(tuán)體逐漸開始有了盈利。

她們還把銷售范圍擴(kuò)大到西瓜、柑橘、毛竹、板錐栗等其它品種，只要是當(dāng)?shù)赜械模饷嬗腥诵枰?，都成了陳秀麗的銷售對(duì)象，婦女姐妹們一年到頭的時(shí)間，也被排得滿當(dāng)當(dāng)。如今，她們年均分紅年加上自家田地、山林的農(nóng)副產(chǎn)品銷售，每人每年收入都能達(dá)到2萬多元。

合作互助“抱團(tuán)”闖市場(chǎng)

2010年，陳秀麗與7名婦女骨干一道共同入股成立了山溝溝果蔬專業(yè)合作社。南平市農(nóng)業(yè)局經(jīng)營(yíng)管理站站長(zhǎng)游生嫩說：“南平市由婦女組成的合作社比較少，全由計(jì)劃生育的育齡婦女組成的合作社山溝溝是首家，更為可貴的是她們不僅在生產(chǎn)上而且在流通上，將山區(qū)農(nóng)副產(chǎn)品推向城里?！?/p>

“山溝溝”能有今天，在“娘子軍”背后，是丈夫們默默無聞的支持。收筍車壞在半路是常有的事，一個(gè)電話老公們都會(huì)趕到現(xiàn)場(chǎng)。張鳳娣的老公就是姐妹們眼中的“模范丈夫”，每次遭遇難題總能在現(xiàn)場(chǎng)看到他的身影。

讓陳秀麗印象最深刻的，是那次與死亡擦肩而過?！澳谴挝液网P娣押車去賣貨，晚上10點(diǎn)多開到離嵐下一公里的地方連人帶車一起翻進(jìn)了田里，司機(jī)當(dāng)場(chǎng)死亡。那時(shí)快過年了，天氣特別冷，四下無人，我們倆哭著光著腳跑去附近的村子找人救援?！标愋沱愓f，那件事后她好幾天睡不著覺，“收筍人還說是死人的筍，不能要，當(dāng)時(shí)真的都想放棄了，但想想這么多姐妹，自己還是決定堅(jiān)持?！?/p>

“抱團(tuán)”闖市場(chǎng)除了能致富，讓她們?cè)敢鈭?jiān)持下來的就是社員姐妹們之間的相互支持。山溝溝有個(gè)不成文的“互助制”，姐妹間誰有困難，大家都義不容辭相互幫忙。2012年秋，劉錦鳳丈夫患病，5畝稻田沒人收割，陳秀麗組織30多名姐妹和各自丈夫幫助她收割。每年的“三八”節(jié)和一年收筍結(jié)束的那天，陳秀麗附近的20多位姐妹都會(huì)固定在一起‘過節(jié)’?！贝蠹乙黄鹳I菜做飯，各展廚藝，有說有笑，像全家人一起過年一樣開心。

大家也喜歡跟著陳秀麗干。“管賬”多年的張鳳娣說：“這么多年了，她做事總是讓人心服口服，沒因?yàn)樽约菏墙M織者就多收一分，稱啊，工具啊，也都是她自己掏錢買的。我們也愿意跟著她干，好像她有種天生的號(hào)召力，交給她我們放心?！泵锩ν?，陳秀麗并不覺得當(dāng)“頭”吃虧，“其實(shí)不吃虧，我現(xiàn)在認(rèn)識(shí)的朋友一

年比一年多，要找客戶的時(shí)候，這些朋友總開玩笑說他們?cè)敢庀袢蛲ㄒ粯?，幫我找?hào)碼?！?/p>

2012年，陳秀麗與她的姐妹們還發(fā)起組織了全省第一個(gè)農(nóng)民志愿者服務(wù)隊(duì)。將愛心互助擴(kuò)展到社會(huì)。是年春節(jié)，志愿者姐妹們到洋后毛根土、前洋何亦銳等孤寡、殘疾老人家上門送溫暖獻(xiàn)愛心，幫助收拾衛(wèi)生，老人們現(xiàn)在逢人便夸；壽山寺廟老阿婆去年手腳不慎摔斷，志愿者姐妹們獻(xiàn)愛心之余，不忘分批輪流上門看望；白溝村與祖母相依為命的12歲孤兒高一凡，不忘是“愛心媽媽”陳秀麗讓他樹起對(duì)生活的勇氣和學(xué)習(xí)的信心??

陳秀麗說，比起以前肩挑手提的日子，現(xiàn)在的條件好了很多，但要面臨的問題也更多了。2006年，陳秀麗主動(dòng)參加省婦聯(lián)主辦的農(nóng)場(chǎng)品經(jīng)紀(jì)人培訓(xùn)，前不久，她又報(bào)名參加了順昌縣舉辦的合作社理事長(zhǎng)培訓(xùn)。“以前沒條件讀書，現(xiàn)在有機(jī)會(huì)了，肯定要多學(xué)點(diǎn)?！标愋沱愓f。
