Distinguishedjudges and dear audience,Good evening! It’s a great honor for me to give you such a speech tonight. So my topic is Jump Higher to Defeat yourself!
There is an old saying which goes like this: “The greatest enemy is yourself.” Yes, only when you conquer yourself can you improve yourself..With the phenomenal development of the world, we will face more and more challenge, for many people ,challenge means hardship, means anxiety, pressure and burdens. They were defeated and eliminated In fact, sometimes the most powerful enemy, is not our opponent, but ourselves.I once read such a story about fleas training. The fleas were trained in a card box with a top on it.At first, the fleas will jump high enough to hit the lid over and over and over again. But gradually a very interesting phenomenon occurs , they will not jump that higher and just low to lid. They restrict themselves to such a height. And when the lid were taken and they can’t jump out of the box. This is not because they can’t but they don’t want to.They were accustomed to the lower height and didn’t try to conquer them.We human beings sometimes are just like fleas, we think that’s all we can do instead of that’s the best we can do.So we are conquered by the reality and had no courage to persue theirour original dream. But for me.Challenge also means opportunity.Since we are young people and have glorious future before us, we should not be afraid of challenge.Challenge can inspire our creative power and lead us to success.I am the chef leader of a student association which is set up for a short time. All beginnings are hard, I had to finish many works to lead it to a formal development track.Everyday, I busy myself with meeting and organizing activities, oh, god knows my pressure! But I conquer it, I conquered myself, I make it a excellent association.it makes me know no matter what comes to you, you should to face it, just face it and finish it a step by step. The biggest enemy is not the work but yourself’s laziness and fear.To conquer yourself is a process of self-perfection, let’s be a perfect flea and jump higher to defeat yourself!
Thank you very much!
Looking on life’s bright side
Good evening!Ladies and Gentlemen. It’s a great honor for me to be here. What I’d like to talk about today is “l(fā)ooking on life’s bright side.” When encountering difficulties in life, some of us will feel despressed and even choose to bury their heads in the sand.Unfortunately, this attitude will not do you any good, because if you don’t even have courage to face them, how can you have the chance to conquer them? Thus, be optimistic, as it can bring you confidence and help you get through the hard times, just as Winston Churchill once said, “An optimist sees an opportunity in every calamity;a pessimist sees a calamity in every opportunity.” To give an example, when I was 15, there was something wrong with my right ear. There was a tumor in it.So I had to have an operation. After that, I lost my hearing. Now you can see a scar beside my right ear.At first, I was very sad and just stayed at home every day.I was wondering why it is so unfair to me.But after a long talk with my father, I realised I was so lucky, I still have one ear to listen to the sounds of the world.I also have eyes, arms and so on.I can still do whatever I want to do, and this experience also made me believed that everyone has bad luck and good luck, the man who stays optimistic through bad luck is the man who is ready to receive good luck when it comes. As you can see, I am the man, and how lucky I am now.For instance, I can play games, listen to music and enjoy everything in life. Most luckily, I have this chance to talk with all of you.
My dear friends, stay optimistic, and you will be able to realize, in spite of some hardships, there’s always hope waiting for you, which will lead you to the ultimate success. To illustrate this point.Take for example, Thomas Edison who was considered by many to be an optimist;otherwise, the light of hope in his heart could not have brightened the whole world.Alfred Nobel kept a good spirit of optimism towards life;otherwise, the explosive and the prestigious Nobel prize would not have came into being. And Lance Armstrong, another optimist usually look on life on the bright side;otherwise, the devil of cancer would have devoured his life and the world would not see a 5-time winner of the Tour De France.
A rose may be beautiful, or maybe not;this would depend on your attitude only, and so does success, and life also depends on your attitude.Hindrances and difficulties do exist, but if you are optimistic, then there are only episodes on your long way to the throne of success;there are more bridges than obstacles! To finish, I’d like to share this with you: if winter comes, can spring be far behind. So, my dear friends, never lose hope.Never fear challenges.Always look on the bright side of life.Just believe, optimism can overcome any difficulties in your life.
Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your listening.
Success isn’t just a name
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, it’s a great honor for me to be here. What I’m going to talk about today is “Success isn’t just a name”.
So, what is success? It is often too easy to define success as something related to fortune, status and power. So it is not surprising that people say success is a case of being a big name on Wall Street or an outstanding scientist. But are fortune, status and power the only criteria for success? The answer is absolutely not.Success can be achieving our own personal goals, or living up to our own personal expectations.Success isn’t just a name.
As for the definition of success, people have different understanding of it, because the hopes and ideals they cherish vary from one to another. From where I stand, I think challenging myself and fulfilling my potential would be my great success. When I was at primary school, I showed little interests in English, so my English was poor. What’s worse, after learning English for 3 years, I mixed the word “number” with the word “Name”.Unfortunately, I got zero in the final test for writing my name at the place of “number”.After being laughed at by my fellow students, I made up my mind to learn English well.To speak fluently and correctly, I kept imitating a tape every single day and tried to remember new words with my whole heart and soul. After three months of hard work, I found I’d made great progress, and even fallen in love with English.Up until now, I am still in the habit of reciting a paragraph of an English article before sleeping.Where there is a will, there is a way.I was chosen as the president of our school’s English speech association. And most importantly, I got the chance to stand here today.
So for me, success means the way I rise up to challenges. It lies in every process and every aspect of life. You needn’t be a Bill Gates to be successful. If you face up to the challenge whatever they may be and get yourself to where you’d like to be, you are a success.
My dear friends, can you still remember how many times you fell down before you learnt to walk when you were a little child? Have you ever heard of any child who can’t walk just because of the fear of falling down again? Never, right?
My dear friends, do you still remember LiNa, the first and only Chinese tennis girl who ever got nearest to the championship of the Australian Open? Though she came out second and missed her first Grand Slam title, she achieved her own success. She is the pride of china. Here, I have to say, you don’t need to always be the No.one to be successful, because success isn’t just a name.
To close my speech, I want to share this with you all. That is success is not just a name.Success isn’t a thing to be waited for;it is a thing to go after. So never give up, never fear challenges.Always have faith.Maybe it will not always get you to the top, but I am sure it can get you pretty close.Thank you for listening.
We can all do it
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. It’s a great honor for me to address you here.Today, my topic is “We can all do it”.
Here, I have some questions to start with.
If you were born prematurely and were so frail that even the doctors were not sure about your survival;if at the age of four, you had double pneumonia and scarlet fever-a deadly combination that left you with a paralyzed and useless left leg, and had to wear an iron leg brace, will you imagine yourself taking part in a running race? Will you imagine one day you will become one of the world’s greatest women runners? Incredibly a little girl indeed had done all these things. She is Wilma Rudolph, the first woman ever to win three gold medals in the same Olympic Games. And people had said she would never walk again---
So my dear friends, if there is anyone in this house who still doubts that all things are possible;who still wonders whether we can achieve our dreams;who still questions the power of our belief;today is your answer.
When I first heard of the story of Wilma Rudolph, I was deeply inspired because it makes me believe that I am capable of achieving anything I want to.It reminds us how we often underestimate our own potential, And how we often destroy our own confidence, just because of what we look like or where we came from. It’s indeed an inspiring story. But why just let it remain a story of other’s, why can’t it be the story of your own ? Why not choose to believe that we will succeed?
There are people who have succeeded beyond all expectation – no matter what they looked like, or where they came from. One of my favorite role models who comes to mind is Barack Obama, the president of the United States. When Obama was ten years old, he wrote these words in his diary: I want to be president.I want to make everyone find their own happiness. This dream was so ridiculous at that time;for a black man, it was difficult to be treated equally in America, let alone become a president. But the power of belief constantly inspired him to carry on.As the saying goes, the man with belief can brave any storm.Obama has overcome all the incredible obstacles and frustrations on his road to power. And the quote “yes, we can” which is often in his speeches, has inspired so many young people around the world.
My dear friends, just take courage from all these great achievements. They are an inspiration not only for me, but for everyone.Because all it takes is a belief---a belief that we can all do it.My dear friends, today is our chance to answer the call of a new era.Never doubt yourself, but believe in yourselves.Believe that, we, everyone of us, can make a positive difference to the world. And don’t wait for the right opportunity to fall in your lap.Because it never will. All you need to do is to carve your own path, no matter what the odds are.So start today.Create your own opportunities and forge your own future.Your belief together with your courage will take you into an even brighter future, into a world where you can be the winner you expect to be.Thank you for listening.

everybody feels depressed sometimes as life is not always going smoothly as we wish.we have to face many difficulties and frustrations or even failures.we may feel frustrated and even begin to doubt ourselves.but time and time again we regain confidence because of our family and friends’encouragement.a smile, a hug or a warming greeting is enough for us to get it through.believing ourselves is quite important.but sometimes our family and friends’encouragement will inspire us more.we need their trust.what a lovely boy, what a touching scene.thanks to the son,the father got inspired and won the respect.this father is lucky because he has such a good son.how i wish i could be a boy like him.and the audience are lucky too, because they did not only appreciate a good show, but also witnessed such a moving scene.suppose if i were one of the audience, i would be taught a very important lesson: never be stingy to bless others.“you are wonderful!” “you can make it.”or something like that.all these kind hearted words are encouraging.remember it,when your friends are in trouble, tell them theses sentences.because we all need people in our lives who are willing to stand up once in a while and say, “i think you are wonderful.”篇四:英語演講稿 listening and speaking course the effects of ad.on people’s life good morning, ladies and gentlemen!i’m very glad to stand here and give you a speech.at first, i’ll show you a great advertisement.it’s based on an advertisement of a conditioner.the swedish childhood cancer foundation used the same technique and made a new version to show the reality we faced everyday.while the train stopped in the station, the hair of the model will be blown up.it’s very creative and attracted publics’ attention successfully.however, the model’s hair was blown away.a child who suffered from cancer appeared on the screen.the first time i watched this advertisement, i was touched deeply.obviously, this advertisement has received a good result, more and more people started to pay attention to these fortuneless children and helped them.this is the power of public service ads.that’s all, thank you.篇五:英語演講稿 is failure a bad thing sometimes fail to get high scores in our exams.when we play games, we might be beaten by others.and there are times when we fail to do work well.all these failures happen naturally and almost every one of us has such experiences.however, there are different attitudes towards failure.some people lose heart when they fail;they think the world is at its end.some people dont take failure seriously but just let it be, while some others learn much from failure, and therefore see the light of hope through failure.in my opinion, what is really important is not failure itself, but what we think of failure and what we do after failure.as long as we dont give up, keeping believing in ourselves, and at the same time learn something from failure, well certainly make our mark in the end.so i am never afraid of failure, for i believe that failure is not a bad thing.rather, “failure is the mother of success.”
