now i want to talk about a beautiful world!i always dream that i could live in a beautiful country.there are many flowers and trees around our city.we could hear the birds singing and see the children dancing.the streets are clear and the air is very fresh!how nice it is!but that is only a dream of mine!the reality is that nearly everyday we could see tra(更多精彩文章請關注好)ffic jam because more and more people are using private cars which polluted the air much.we seldom enjoy the fresh air because we always stay in the air-conditioned rooms..everyone should make ato protect the environment.taking care of our environment is very important.no matter where we live, we can do something around our neighborhood.have you ever thrown any litter onto the ground? have you ever drawn pictures on public walls? have you ever cut down trees? if your answers are “no”, it means that you have already helped protect our environment.it is our duty to keep our environment clean and tidy.you might ask yourself, “have i ever picked up some rubbish and thrown it into a dustbin?

have i ever collected waste paper or bottles for recycling? have i ever planted any trees or flowers in or near my neighborhood?” if your answers are “yes”, it means that you have already done something useful to improve the environment.moreover, we should also use public transportation as possible as we can.we should also save water and electricity and other resources for next generation.now i want to say: let’s do our best to make our world more beautiful!

yes, that's a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called gorillas in the mist, based on a true story of mrs.diana fossey, who spent most of her lifetime in rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.

to me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a timeless reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our eco-environment.

today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems.on the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go.it has bee a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in gdp growth.it has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity.but on the other hand, many problems can occurbig notes, small notes or even coins-from housewives, plumbers, ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and invalids.some of them cannot afford to send the money but they do.these are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood.why? because they care.because they still want their mother nature back.because they know it still belongs to them.

this kind of feeling that i have, ladies and gentlemen, is when it feels like it, smells like it, and looks like it,it's all ing from a scene to be remembered, a scene to recall and to cherish.

the other night, as i saw the moon linger over the land and before it was sent into the invisible, my mind was filled with songs.i found myself humming softly, not to the music, but to something else, someplace else, a place remembered, a place untouched, a field of grass where no one seemed to have been except the deer.

and all those unforgettable scenes strengthened the feeling that it's time for us to do something, for our own and our ing generation.once again, i have e to think of mrs.diana fossey because it is with her spirit, passion, courage and strong sense of our ecoenvironment that we are taking our next step into the world.

and no matter who we are, what we do and where we go, in our minds, there's always a scene to remember, a scene worth our effort to protect it and fight for it. thank you very much.the rhythm of life most important lesson – we must place our mind in harmony with the natural order of things to be successful.let me tell you what happened.i decided to take part in an international marathon in my hometown last year.being an ambitious person, i hoped to finish it within 5 hours, acpanied by my friend with whom i had trained.the big day finally arrived.“ready...set...bang” and we were off.at first, we kept a rapid pace and ran nonstop.at this pace, we finished the first 20 kilometers in 2 hours and i thought running a marathon was a piece of cake.then my running mate began to slow down.i urged him to keep running at the same pace but he said no, he wanted to conserve his energy.i felt i had partnered with the wrong person;therefore, i sprinted on and left him behind in the dust.a few kilometers later, i began to understand his strategy as my pace slowed to a jog then a walk.after that i was incapable of moving another step.i was humiliated as more and more people ran passed me.more than once i thought “maybe i should quit.” i started to doubt my ability to finish this race.at this moment, my running mate caught up with me and slapped me on the back.“follow me,” he shouted.he had balanced his marathon pace and was encouraged me to do the same.for the rest of this grueling contest, we walked, jogged, ran a few miles, and walked again.slowly, painfully but hopefully this time, we established the most suitable pace

within the natural flow of our physical capabilities.eventually we acplished our first marathon of 42 kilometers in 4 and half hours.i asked myself, what did this marathon mean to me? my marathon experience became an influential metaphor for my life about how we must learn to pace ourselves in everything, by being in tune with the rhythm of life.like the tide that ebbs and flows, we must listen to advice but make our own decisions.like the show at dawn and dusk, we must learn to balance pride and modesty.and from the way the wind can both shout and whisper, we must learn when to be strong and when to be gentle, for everything moves in its own rhythm and its own yin and yang elements.it is the interaction of these plementary extremes that produces harmony, as laozi said, extremes meet.since the marathon, this notion of two opposite forces working together has been my running partner, so to speak.yin and yang exist everywhere, constantly interacting, and never existing in an absolute condition.ladies and gentlemen, life is like running a marathon, let us discover, define and develop a natural rhythm of life, in order to achieve both harmony and success.thank you for listening.

to me march 28th was a lucky day.it was on that particular evening that i found myself at central stage, in the spotlight.winning the “21st century〃ericsson cup” seventh national english speaking petition is a memory that i shall treasure and one that will surely stay.more important than winning the cup is the friendship that has been established and developed among the contestants, and the chance to municate offstage in addition to peting onstage.also the petition helps boost public speaking in china, a skill hitherto undervalued.for me, though, the petition is a more personal experience.habitually shy, i had been reluctant to take part in any such activities.encouraged by my friends, however, i made a last-minute decision to give it a try.in the course of preparation i somehow rediscovered myself, a truer me.i found that, after all, i like municating with other people;that exchanging views can be so much fun—and so much rewarding, both emotionally and intellectually;that public speaking is most effective when you are least guarded;and that it is essential to success in every walk of life.at a more practical level, i realized knowing what you are going to say and how you are going to say it are equally important.to take the original ideas out of your head and transplant them, so to speak, to that of others, you need to have an organized mind.this ability improves with training.yet there should not be any loss or addition or distortion in the process.those ideas that finally find their waysintosanother head need to be recognizably yours.language is a means

to transmit information, not a means to obstruct munication.it should be lucid to be penetrating.in china, certain public speaking skills have been unduly emphasized.will it really help, we are pelled to ask, to bang at the podium or yell at the top of your lungs, if you have e with a poorly organized speech, a muddled mind, and unwillingness to truly share your views? above all, the single most important thing i learnt was that as a public speaker, you need to pay attention, first and foremost, to the content of your speech.and second, the structure of your speech: how one idea relates and progresses to another.only after these e delivery and non-verbal munication: speed control, platform manner, and so on.pronunciation is important, yet of greater importance is this: is your language petent enough to express your ideas exactly the way you intend them to be understood? i was informed afterwards that i was chosen to be the winner for my “appropriately ed speech, excellent presence and quick-witted response”.in so remarking, the judges clearly showed their preference: they e to listen for meaningful ideas, not for loose judgments, nor easy laughters.some contestants failed to address their questions head on.some were able to, but did not knowswheresto stop—the dragging on betrayed their lack of confidence.the root cause was that they did not listen attentively to the questions.or they were thinking of what they had prepared.as i said in my speech, “it is vitally important that we young people do

more serious thinking...to take them [issues like globalization] on and give them honest thinking is the first step to be prepared for both opportunities and challenges ing our way”.we need to respond honestly.a petition like this draws talented students from all over the country.and of course, i learnt more things than just about public speaking.since in the final analysis, public speaking is all about effective munication.and this goes true for all munications, whatever their setting.and the following is the final version of my speech: globalization: opportunities and challenges for china's younger generation thirty years ago, american president richard nixon made an epoch-making visit to china, a country still isolated at that time.premier zhou enlai said to him, “your handshake came over the vastest ocean in the world—twenty-five years of no munication”.thirty years since, china and america have exchanged many handshakes.the fundamental implication of this exle is that the need to municate across differences in culture and ideology is not only felt by the two countries but by many other nations as well.as we can see today, environmentalists from different countries are making joint efforts to address the issue of global warming, economists are seeking solutions to financial crises that rage in a particular region but nonetheless cripple the world economy, and politicians and diplomats are

getting together to discuss the issue of bating terrorism.peace and prosperity has bee a mon goal that we are striving for all over the world.underlying this mighty trend of global munication is the echo of e.m.forster's s “only connect!” with the it revolution, traditional boundaries of human society fall away.our culture, politics, society and merce are being sloshedsintosone large melting pot of humanity.in this interlinked world, there are no outsiders, for a disturbance in one place is likely to impact other parts of the globe.we have begun to realize that a world divided cannot endure.china is now actively integratingsintosthe world.our recent entry to the wto is a good exle.for decades, we have taken pride in being self-reliant, but now we realize the importance of participating in and contributing to a broader economic order.from a precarious role in the world arena to our present wto membership, we have e a long way.but what does the way ahead look like? in some parts of the world people are demonstrating against globalization.are they justified, then, in criticizing the globalizing world? instead of narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor, they say, globalization enables the developed nations to swallow the developing nations' wealth in debts and interest.globalization, they argue, should be about a mon interest in every other nation's economic health.we are reminded by karl marx that capital goes beyond national

borders and eludes control from any other entity.this has bee a reality.multinational corporations are seeking the lowest cost, the largest market, and the most favourable policy.they are often powerful lobbyists in government decision-making, ruthless expansionists in the global market and a devastating presence to local businesses.for china, still more challenges exist.how are we going to ensure a smooth transition from the planned economy to a market-based one? how to construct a legal system that is sound enough and broad enough to respond to the needs of a dynamic society? how to maintain our cultural identity in an increasingly homogeneous world? and how to define greatness in our rise as a peace-loving nation? globalization entails questions that concern us all.like many young people my age in china, i want to see my country get prosperous and enjoy respect in the international munity.but it seems to me that mere patriotism is not just enough.it is vitally important that we young people do more serious thinking and broaden our mind to bigger issues.there might never be easy answers to those issues such as globalization, but to take them on and give them honest thinking is the first step to be prepared for both opportunities and challenges ing our way.this is also one of the thoughts that came to me while preparing this speech to me march 28th was a lucky day.it was on that particular evening that i found myself at central stage, in the spotlight.winning the “21st century?ericsson cup” seventh national english speaking petition is a memory that i shall treasure and one that will surely stay.more important than winning the cup is the friendship that has been established and developed among the contestants, and the chance to municate offstage in addition to peting onstage.also the petition helps boost public speaking in china, a skill hitherto undervalued.for me, though, the petition is a more personal experience.habitually shy, i had been reluctant to take part in any such activities.encouraged by my friends, however, i made a last-minute decision to give it a try.in the course of preparation i somehow rediscovered myself, a truer me.i found that, after all, i like municating with other people;that exchanging views can be so much fun—and so much rewarding, both emotionally and intellectually;that public speaking is most effective when you are least guarded;and that it is essential to success in every walk of life.at a more practical level, i realized knowing what you are going to say and how you are going to say it are equally important.to take the original ideas out of your head and transplant them, so to speak, to that of others, you need to have an organized mind.this ability improves with training.yet there should not be any loss or addition or distortion in the process.those ideas that finally find their way into another head need to be recognizably yours.language is a means to transmit information, not a

yes, that's a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called gorillas in the mist, based on a true story of mrs.dian fossey, who spent most of bet lifetime in rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.to me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a 6)timeless(永恒的)reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our ecoenvironment.today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems.on the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go.it has bee a lifestyle for some people, and has

turned out to be the driving force in gdp growth.it has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity.but on the other hand, many problems can occur---natural scenes aren't natural anymore.deforestation to heat lodges is devastating nepal.oil spills from tourist boats are polluting antarctica.tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to u2 on walkman and wear nike and reeboks.all these 7)appalling(令人震驚的)facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been 8)eroding(侵蝕)our resources.encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the united nations has made XX the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the world's attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment.now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations--big notes, small notes or even coins--from housewives, 9)plumbers(水管工人), ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and 10)invalids(殘疾人), some of them can not afford to send the money but they do.these are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood.why? because they care.because they still want their mother nature back.because they know it still

belongs to them.this kind of feeling that i have, ladies and gentlemen, is when it feels like it, smells like it, and looks like it, it's all ing from a scene to remember, a scene to recall and to cherish.the other night, as l saw the moon linger over the land and before it was sent into the invisible, my mind was filled with songs.i found myself humming softly, not to the music, but to some-thing else, someplace else.a place remembered, a place untouched, a field of grass where no one seem to have been except the deer.and all those unforgettable scenes strengthened the feeling that it's lime for us to do something, for our own and our ing generation.once again, i have e to think of mrs.dian fossey be-cause it's with her spirit, passion, courage and strong sense of our ecoenvironment that we are taking our next step into the world.and no matter who we are, what we do and where we go, in our mind, there's always a scene to remember, a scene worth our effort to protect it and fight for it.

01】if i were a boy again

if i were a boy again, i would practice perseverance(毅力)more often, and never give up a thing because it was hard or inconvenient.if we want light, we must conquer darkness.perseverance can sometimes equal genius in its results.“there are only two creatures,” says a proverb, “who can surmount the pyramids—the eagle and the snail.”

if i were a boy again, i would school myself into a habit of attention;i would let nothing e between me and the subject in hand.i would remember that a good skater never tries to skate in two directions at once.the habit of attention bees part of our life, if we begin early enough.i often hear grown-up people say “i could not fix my attention on the lecture or book, although i wished to do so” , and the reason is, the habit was not formed in youth.if i were to live my life over again, i would pay more attention to the cultivation of the memory.i would strengthen that faculty by every possible means, and on every possible occasion.it takes a little hard work at first to remember things accurately;but memory soon helps itself, and gives very little trouble.it only needs early cultivation to bee a power.if i were a boy again, i would look on the cheerful side.life is very much like a mirror: if you smile upon it, i smile back upon you;but if you frown and look doubtful on it, you will get a similar look in return.inner sunshine warms not only the heart of the owner, but of all that e in contact with it.“who shuts love out ,in turn shall be shut out from love.”

finally, instead of trying hard to be happy, as if that were the sole purpose of life, i would, if i were a boy again, i would still try harder to make others happy.【譯文】假如我又回到了童年,我做事要更有毅力,決不因為事情艱難或者麻煩而撒手不干,我們要光明,就得征服黑暗。

and i even dream about what the life will be when we are on planets other than our earth. that is why i’m so interested in the following scientific report recently.

在我們享受的時候懂得珍惜 cherish what we are enjoying it is a report about the new planet which holds possibility for life.

it shows that european astronomers have discovered a new planet, they name it gliese 581 c. it is about 20.5 light years from our earth.they estimated the planet's average temperature at between 0 and 40 degrees centigrade.it is orbiting the red dwarf star, gliese 581.

most important of all, it’s an earth-like planet.there might be mountin, sea and liquid water.

so the astronomers believe that it is potentially habitable.

however, gliese 581 c might be ”tidally locked" to it’s sun-the dwarf star the way our moon is to the earth.

it means that it must always show its same face to its sun, and that while one side would be too fiercely hot to support life, the other side would be too cold.

this report makes me to realize that how valuable our earth is.這使我認識到我們地球有多么珍貴!everyday, we can see sunrise and sunset.

the day and night keeps on exchanging.it’s not too hot in the daytime while not to cold at night.

everyday, i go to school cheerfully in the morning and skip along at the way home as the sun set.

we could experience changes through the four seasons of one year.

spring is the season sowing seeds.it is pregnant with life and green.

in the summer, colorful swimming suits frolick in the water happily.

autumn is the harvest season , the paddy fields and trees are covered with golden color.

in the winter,we can have snow battle, playing to our hearts' content in the world of silvery white. how fortunate we are because we can live on the earth!

we should cherish it, instead of polluting it, spoiling it or even destroying it.我們要珍惜它,千萬別污染它,別糟踐它,別破壞它!if one day, it is really angry and stop rotation, that will have be a disaster for us human being.

so, let us protect our earth with our love, making it better and more harmonious.

ladies and gentlemen, now let me show you a story about the monkey and the moon.

one day, a little monkey is playing by the well. he looks in the well and shouts :

“oh!my god!the moon has fallen into the well!”“噢! 月亮掉到井里頭啦!” an older monkeys runs over, takes a look, and says, 一只大猴子跑來一看,說,“goodness me!the moon is really in the water!” 月亮掉在井里頭啦!” and the oldest monkey es over.

he is very surprised as well and cries out: 他也非常驚奇,喊道: “the moon is in the well.” “糟了,月亮掉在井里頭了!” a group of monkeys run over to the well.

一群猴子跑到井邊來,they look at the moon in the well and shout: 他們看到井里的月亮,喊道:

“the moon did fall into the well!e on!let’s get it out!” 讓我們把它撈起來!” then, the oldest monkey hangs on the tree up side down ,with his feet on the branch.然后,老猴子倒掛在大樹上,and he pulls the next monkey’s feet with his hands.拉住大猴子的腳,all the other monkeys follow his suit, 其他的猴子一個個跟著,and they join each other one by one down to the moon in the well.

just before they reach the moon, the oldest monkey raises his head and happens to see the moon in the sky, 正好他們摸到月亮的時候,老猴子抬頭發(fā)現(xiàn)月亮掛在天上呢 he yells excitedly “don’t be so foolish!the moon is still in the sky!”

月亮還好好地掛在天上呢!” this is the end of the story.do you like it?

our every sensory nerve.so concerning that much sentiment music can express, i believe it is music that has gathered different parts of the world together, spanning both time and space gaps.furthermore, people nowadays don’t just use music simply for regulating the atmosphere or something like that.in psychology especially psychophysiology, music has been explored quite a lot for its effects on human’s brain, either for treatment or training skills.to sum up, i don’t think it’s improper to exaggerate a bit that life without music is just like a fish living without water.indeed, with respect to all the colorful feelings music brings as well as the instrumental influence that music exerts on us, music, is the that has changed the world.

      TOEIC

BEC

      TOEIC

TOEIC-Test of English for International Communication(國際交流英語測評)。

      BEC

      PETS

      Champion Dream Hello, Everybody:

My name is Mu Siyu, a lovely girl of ten.I’m very glad to stand here and share my dream with you.Different people have different dreams. Some people dream of being rich or famous and others dream of staying young for long.I also have a lot of dreams. But my dream is to become a doctor.,an angel in white. If I am a doctor, I will help the sick and save their lives. If I am a doctor, I will help the people injured in the earthquake, and I will heal the hurt on their bodies. If I am a doctor ,I will help the poor people who have no money to cure their illness.I hope to see a world, where there is no illness. In order to realize my dream, I could face many difficulties. But the dreams are like small seeds planted in my heart;like the beacon in the sea that leads me to my dream.I‘ll make it by my hard working.Come on.My speech is over , thank you for your listening.
