如何培養(yǎng)(關(guān)愛)留守兒童學習英語的興趣
教育是隨著教育對象的變化而變化的,隨著社會經(jīng)濟和城市化的發(fā)展,我們的教育對象中出現(xiàn)了留守兒童這部分群體,隨著隊伍的龐大,尤其在農(nóng)村,他們的教育也日益顯現(xiàn)。起初,對于我這位一直從事農(nóng)村英語教育工作者來說,并沒有引起太多的關(guān)注,但是留守兒童數(shù)量的增多,英語對他們越來越顯得困難,已經(jīng)嚴重影響到這部分同學學習的全面發(fā)展。英語這門課有它的特殊性,因此我才想著需要通過對這部分同學的了解調(diào)研,在自己的班級,實施英語自主學習的培養(yǎng)。
隨著調(diào)查的深入,讓我感到,由于留守兒童親情的缺失,同時又缺少關(guān)愛,導(dǎo)致他們對學習興趣不高,而英語學科的特殊性,更讓他們是處于被動的學習?;诖宋也畔M羰貎和歇毩⒆灾鞯漠a(chǎn)生對英語學習活動的能力,又需要通過確立學習目標,自我監(jiān)控和自我評價等認知策略來實現(xiàn)的。英語自主學習的特點,決定了它能夠提高留守兒童的英語學習效率、效果和水平,進而對課堂教學起促進作用使他們由被動學習英語向主動學習轉(zhuǎn)變,由傳授式學習向探究式學習轉(zhuǎn)變。同時通過學校與家庭的結(jié)合,尋找適合他們學習英語的方法。著名教育家葉圣陶認為:“養(yǎng)成習慣貴在躬行實踐”。葉圣陶還說過:“凡是好的態(tài)度和好的方法,都要使它成為習慣。只有熟練得成了習慣,好的態(tài)度才能隨時發(fā)現(xiàn),好的方法才能隨時隨地應(yīng)用,好像出于本性,一輩子用不”。英語自主學習就是要把被動學習變成主動學習。構(gòu)建留守兒童自主學習,提高自主學習能力,是我要在教學中實施的教學模式,同時希望幫助他們實現(xiàn)各科全面發(fā)展。
通過問卷調(diào)查、監(jiān)護人家長會,隨訪、科任教師反饋,了解到留守兒童存在的不良學習習慣主要如下:學習無計劃,對自己要求不嚴、不求上進;學習缺乏激情、懶散,拖拉和應(yīng)付現(xiàn)象比較嚴重;意志品質(zhì)稍差,注意力不能持久,抗干擾能力不強,容易受外界誘惑的影響,學習興趣易轉(zhuǎn)移到課外;學習效率低,缺乏科學的學習方法和合理的學習安排,很少或者根本沒有預(yù)習、復(fù)習的習慣,沒有積極、主動的思考習慣,學習停留在機械記憶的低水平狀態(tài),缺乏創(chuàng)新意識和精神,上課時被動接受老師提供的現(xiàn)成答案等。這些現(xiàn)象,不僅嚴重影響留守兒童的學習成績,還容易形成不良個性品質(zhì),導(dǎo)致學習困難,變成學困生。為了全面提高留守兒童的英語成績,降低英語學困生率,我們需探尋適合留守兒童策略。
調(diào)查也發(fā)現(xiàn),留守兒童家庭教育方式,家長的文化程度對英語學習的也有極大的影響。首先,留守兒童與祖輩生活在一起,“代溝”問題突出,有40%的家長對留守兒童在哪個年級讀書、班主任是誰都不知道,70%的留守留守兒童的成績在中等偏下;2%的家長能經(jīng)常輔導(dǎo)留守兒童學習,而能對留守兒童進行青春期教育和挫折教育的家長只占3%;其次,留守兒童缺失父母關(guān)愛,影響留守兒童健康人格形成;第三,是經(jīng)濟基礎(chǔ)決定上層建筑,經(jīng)濟落后,家庭在教育方面的投入很少,留守兒童成長環(huán)境很差,留守兒童沒有耳濡目染的學習氛圍。第四,留守兒童家長素質(zhì)普遍較低、學習意識淡薄,將教育重擔交付學校,家庭教育行為極為欠缺。第五,現(xiàn)在的留守兒童是中國第一批在電視機、電腦前長大的留守兒童,他們與父母的理解和溝通越來越少,這就容易形成不健康的心理。第六,留守兒童英語基礎(chǔ)相當薄弱,而且農(nóng)村家長對留守兒童學習的重視程度及為他們創(chuàng)造的學習環(huán)境遠遠比不上城市家庭。農(nóng)村家長對英語這一課程的不重視,他們的學習一直處于被動接受狀態(tài),導(dǎo)致他們自主學習的能力不斷減弱。
作為英語教育工作者,針對留守兒童的現(xiàn)狀和英語學科的特點,我除了在個人備課﹑專研教材﹑改進教學方法等方面加強努力外,還采取了以下一些策略: 1.構(gòu)建和諧民主的師生關(guān)系
走進留守兒童心里,和留守兒童交朋友,課余時間多找留守兒童談心,了解他們的家庭狀況、生活情況、父母打工等情況。幫助他們解決學習、生活、心理困難,做他們的知心朋友。課堂上多為留守生提供回答、表演、參與的機會,特別鼓勵差生的參與,即使一點點優(yōu)點和進步,我也會及時地加以肯定和表揚,使他們真正地感受到老師的愛護關(guān)懷,老師就是他們的良師益友、第二家長。
2.堅持整體教學與分散教學相結(jié)合
對于英語基礎(chǔ)差的留守兒童,僅僅靠課堂時間四十分鐘的學習是遠遠不夠的。平時就利用業(yè)余時間組織這部分留守兒童個別輔導(dǎo),為他們補差補缺。具體的做法:在教學一個新單元之前,先把學困生集中起來,讓對新的內(nèi)容進行提前預(yù)習,先過好單詞關(guān),并通過提問答疑、口頭翻譯等途徑,先幫助這部分留守兒童了解基礎(chǔ)知識、重點句型、重點難點,這樣他們反而更容易接受,信心大增,從而形成良性循環(huán)。
3、注重課內(nèi)操練與課外積累相結(jié)合
切實抓好晨讀這一環(huán)節(jié):英語作為一門第二語言,而農(nóng)村留守兒童接觸英語的機會也不多,而語言要想真的學好,就的大量的輸入,不斷地練習,然后才能不斷輸出。早晨他們頭腦清醒,這時讓他們大聲反復(fù)朗讀英語句子和課文,不僅能培養(yǎng)他們良好的語感而且有利于英語單詞的記憶,因為通過句子記憶單詞,反而記得更勞,用的更活。4.培養(yǎng)留守兒童學困生良好的英語學習習慣
堅持四個環(huán)節(jié):抓好課前的預(yù)習,抓好課堂上的聽課,抓好課后的復(fù)習,抓好課堂作業(yè)與課外作業(yè)確保完成作業(yè)的質(zhì)量。另外在書寫﹑口語﹑操練﹑提問及語言行為習慣等方面也要加強對他們的訓(xùn)練與培養(yǎng)。
5.堅持激發(fā)留守兒童英語的學習興趣
針對留守兒童活潑好動的心理特點,在英語教學中多采用手中的英語教育資源-圖片﹑實物教具﹑錄音﹑等多媒體軟件,結(jié)合我們自身的體態(tài)語—手勢﹑動作﹑表情等來示范。還有就是圍繞教學內(nèi)容設(shè)計一些游戲,讓他們在玩中學,在學中玩,自然而然,學的開心,學的高效。
如何讓這些留守兒童真正成為學習的主人,培養(yǎng)他們英語自主學習習慣,我主要從以下 2 幾個反面入手。1.轉(zhuǎn)變教學觀念
傳統(tǒng)課堂教學中教師的任務(wù)是教,學生的任務(wù)是學。教師占用大部分課堂教學時間對他們進行語言知識的傳授,他們則處于被動地聽、記、背、練的苦學中。雖然我們付出了大量的時間與精力,卻收效甚微。因此,構(gòu)建以留守兒童為中心的課堂,注重培養(yǎng)他們主動探索知識、主動發(fā)現(xiàn)及解決問題的能力。2.培養(yǎng)自主學習的心理素質(zhì)
要培養(yǎng)自主學習的心理素質(zhì),就要激發(fā)留守兒童的英語學習動機,也就是要讓他們明白為什么要學習英語。這樣才能真正地將留守兒童的“要我學”轉(zhuǎn)變成“我要學”。其次運用正確的評價機制,要多表揚,多鼓勵留守兒童所取得的點滴進步。只有讓留守兒童對英語學習保持一種積極向上的情感,才能更持久地保持學習的動力。3.培養(yǎng)課前預(yù)習和課后復(fù)習的良好習慣
預(yù)習,是為新課學習所做的重要準備工作。俗話說“學起于思,思源于疑”,通過預(yù)習可以讓留守兒童帶著疑問走進課堂,可以培養(yǎng)留守兒童積極思考,解決問題的能力,甚至還可以培養(yǎng)留守兒童的創(chuàng)新能力。在準備留守兒童課前預(yù)習的導(dǎo)學案時,可以從課標要求的聽、說、讀、寫幾個方面來考慮,這樣可以使留守兒童的預(yù)習任務(wù)更加明確,同時根據(jù)文章內(nèi)容的特點,科學合理地制訂預(yù)習目標。課后復(fù)習能對所學內(nèi)容起到鞏固的效果,課后復(fù)習任務(wù)的布置要尊重個體差異,分層布置。這樣可以使不同層次的留守兒童獲得學習的成就感,保持持久的學習動力。引導(dǎo)留守兒童扎實做好預(yù)習和復(fù)習工作,才能幫助留守兒童從被動接受的狀態(tài)中擺脫出來,真正成為學習的主人。
4、構(gòu)建科學的課堂教學模式
留守學生由于學習習慣不是太好,建立科學的課堂教學模式,并將這種模式持之以恒的堅持下去,讓學生明白什么時間要做什么事,怎么做。一堂新課到底應(yīng)該怎樣上,教學過程怎樣安排,個人觀點是:①在教學目標或?qū)W習目標的統(tǒng)帥下,在學生掌握方法的前提下,學生有一定的時間自主學習。預(yù)習盡量安排在課內(nèi),時間應(yīng)有10分鐘左右。②學生在自主學習后,小組合作交流,形成共識或提出共同的疑惑。時間應(yīng)有3分鐘以上。③小組代表在全班展示交流收獲,其他同學或分享或提出疑問或解答疑問,形成生生互動,時間應(yīng)有10分鐘左右;教師啟發(fā)點撥或強調(diào),深化學生的認識,發(fā)展學生的思維品質(zhì),形成師生互動,時間應(yīng)有10分鐘左右。④鞏固反饋,考察過手情況,這在英語等強調(diào)記憶的學科中更重要。也可安排為拓展延伸的問題,時間應(yīng)有7分鐘左右。當然①和④不一定在每節(jié)課都出現(xiàn),但在一篇文章或小節(jié)的首尾應(yīng)該有。當然,還應(yīng)注意不同課型的不同模式。5.加強學法引導(dǎo)
在英語學科中聽、說、讀、寫能力的培養(yǎng)是至關(guān)重要的。
聽:多聽課文磁帶和英文歌曲。選擇的材料要難易適中,每天規(guī)定訓(xùn)練聽力的時間,無論是5分鐘還是10分鐘,都要持之以恒。
說:盡可能提供留守兒童說的機會,可以在課堂上安排對話表演或復(fù)述課文的活動,也可以舉行全校性英語演講賽、英語會話表演賽或英語故事比賽等。
讀:熟讀課文可以培養(yǎng)留守兒童的語感和閱讀理解能力。寒暑假時,建議讀一本簡短的中英文雙譯的世界名著。
寫:培養(yǎng)留守兒童養(yǎng)成良好的書寫習慣和寫作習慣。要求留守兒童每周堅持寫日記,日積月累留守兒童的英語寫作水平將逐步提高。6.創(chuàng)設(shè)自主學習、合作探究的學習氛圍
①改革課堂教學模式,營造自主學習氛圍。無論采用哪種課堂教學模式,我都從留守兒童的實際情況出發(fā),制訂和調(diào)整教學策略。我不斷嘗試適合本班的“先學后教,當堂訓(xùn)練”教學模式,這種教學模式,是通過培養(yǎng)留守兒童學習英語的獨立性、主動性和創(chuàng)造性來激發(fā)留守兒童學習英語的興趣。在英語課堂中我以任務(wù)為中心的教學活動,引導(dǎo)留守兒童積極參與形式多樣的交際活動,并及時給予指導(dǎo)和鼓勵,使留守兒童充分體驗學習的樂趣。
②創(chuàng)建小組學習模式,營造合作探究的學習氛圍。小組合作學習模式,實際上是留守兒童間圍繞教學內(nèi)容共同參與,通過對話、溝通和多種合作活動產(chǎn)生交互影響,以動態(tài)生成的方式推進的教學活動過程。留守兒童間互相幫助,取長補短,共同進步,從而彌補了留守兒童之間的差異。同時對培養(yǎng)留守兒童的交往技巧、分享合作的態(tài)度具有積極的作用。
實踐證明,留守兒童如果能在中學階段養(yǎng)成良好的英語學習習慣,打下扎實的英語基礎(chǔ),對今后的中英語學習,高中階段乃至終身的英語學習都有著至關(guān)重要的作用。
