本文選自國外網(wǎng)站上面的一篇文章,主標(biāo)題為“Trade Is the New Plastics”,副標(biāo)題為Young Americans need to learn to sell and buy overseas.
嫉降目键c(diǎn),因此,53題則通過“But there's another way of looking at the trade data.Over the past two years, the figures on imports and exports seem not to signal a double-dip recession。。but an economic expansion.”
54題則定位到“The rising tide of trade is also good news for people who work in trade-sensitive businesses, especially those that produce commodities for which global demand sets the price—agricultural goods, mining, metals, oil.”
55題,考生要特別注意,不可因?yàn)椤癘ne great challenge for the U.S.economy is slack domestic consumer demand.”

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on happiness by referring to the saying “Happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them.” You can cite examples to illustrate your points and then explain how you can develop your ability to deal with problem and be happy, you should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.【參考范文】
To solve problem, to taste happiness
“What is happiness?” is a cliché topic.Everyone has a different definition to the true meaning of happiness. For Franklin Roosevelt, “happiness is not the mere possession of money;it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort.” For Elbert Einstein, “if you want to live in a happy life, tie it to the goal, not the people or the things.” Although the two great men grant different
definitions to happiness, there is something in common, that is, happiness derives from the capacity to solve problems.I believe that this is true. There is no denying that life is full of problems.Let’s take environmental pollution for example.Pollution poses a great threat to our existence.Fortunately, this public hazard has drawn our greatly attention and many effective measures are being taking to solve it.In fact, now the public are benefiting more and more from pollution prevention and control. We can enjoy clear air, health food and beautiful scenes again.Isn’t this happiness?

Not exactly.“Trying to quantify or measure the impact of women in politics is hard because in very few countries have there been enough women in politics to make a difference,”says Anne-Marie Goetz, peace and security adviser for U.N.Women.Of course, no index can account for everything.Declaring that one country is better than another in the way that it treats more than half its citizens means relying on broad strokes and generalities. Some things simply can’t be measured. And cross-cultural comparisons can t account for difference of opinion.Certain conclusions are nonetheless clear. For one thing, our index backs up a simple but profound statement made by Hillary Clinton at the recent Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperationsummit.“When we liberate the economic potential of women, we elevate the economic performance of communities, nations, and the world,” she said.“There’s a stimulative effect that kicks in when women have greater access to jobs and the economic lives of our countries: Greater political stability.Fewer military conflicts.More food.More educational opportunity for children.By harnessing the economic potential of all women, we boost opportunity for all people.”

Thereis an old saying that people never judge a book from its cover. From my pointof view, this saying also applies to our attitudes towards others: never judgea person from their appearance.Because you never know one person’s true meritsif only judging from their appearance。
Itis true that an attractive appearance is of great significance not only fordaily life but also for the job. However, it is unwise to judge one person bythe appearance for the following reasons. On the one hand, with the advancementof science technology and medical level, people can transform their surface byall means. On the other hand, the appearance should not be the merely criteriafor judging an individual, considering that are more important factors, including Courteous, kind-hearted, honest and so on。Inconclusion, it is unadvisable to judge a person by their appearance. That’s whyI assert that we should pay more attention to one's inward and place high valueon inner cultivation。

Thesedays there is a general discussion about the issue of judging a person by theirappearance.People’s opinions differ greatly concerning this phenomenon. Is it wise to judge a person by their appearance? Itis definitely not。
Thereare numerous reasons explaining this phenomenon.First and foremost, although good appearance is helpful to leave others agood impression in the first meeting, kindness and inner thought are the mostimportant to make friends for all life time.Secondly, many facts reflect that some people with charming appearance make no successfulevents, while others without handsome appearance achieve a lot.Last but notthe least, with thedevelopment of science and technology, plastic surgery can change onesappearance, so maybe the people with sourness only alter their appearance butnot develop their virtue。
Admittedly, it is unwise tojudge a person by their appearance. So people should have more communicationwith others to find the beauty of their inner thought。

only one of the most important ones.We can never judge a person by his/herexternal appearance because no one is able to gain a full appreciation of a person merely by it.One’s good impression on others does not usually develop from the way one looks, but the inner qualities one possesses. For example, the virtues of the Chinese people are regarded as beautiful, because they have helped to produce such a magnificent culture in the world. From what have been discussed ablve, we may draw the conclusion that we should adopt appropriate standards to estimate persons, like their inner qualities or practical actions。

For those university students-to-be, choosing their ideal school is never an easy job, but luckily, different authorities come up with the university ranking to help!Top students shall choose the top schools high on the list and vice versa.Complicated issue becomes easy numerical comparison, yet the real problem stays there, can the numerical ranking tell you the status quo of these universities? Are these “authorities” producing the ranking authoritative enough to make the judgments? Let’s take a serious look at the issue before we jump to the conclusion whether university ranking is good or bad.We have to admit that because of historical reasons, most of the 1950s-1960s parents were denied higher education and this cruel fact makes them even more eager to give their children high education even though they have no idea of what university education is all about. The ranking helps them to make decisions based on their simple idea of better ranking means better jobs in future, and therefore better income! It is pathetic that they interpret knowledge and wisdom in such a way yet it is even more pathetic that there are so-claimed well-educated people making up all the ranking and get the ranking published to mislead them!
It is a not-uncommon social phenomenon that the university rankings are especially prevalent in our country. For example, universities are measured by scale, academic achievements or the number of papers published in famous magazines. As to this issue, opinions vary from person to person. Some people hold that university ranking dramatically promotes the development of university in various fields. But others maintain that university ranking also leads to some undesirable consequences such as academic fraud even to deceive people. As far I am concerned, every coin has two sides. On one hand, University ranking does encourage the development and growth of colleges.Such growth– the grand libraries, splendid stadiums and fruitful academic achievements, has caught the attention of the world. We’re impressed by these signs of our education’s tour to the 21st century. On the other hand, we have to pay attention to an unexpected phenomenon that some people have ignored the objectivity of university ranking.Take South university of science and technology of china for an example, this university occupies the second position in some university rankings. In those rankings, it is superior to Peking University and Tsinghua university. In a word, we should inspire the advantages of university and abandon its disadvantages.

Nowadays , university and college ranking has become increasingly popular thoughout the nation.According to the survry conducted by China Daily , an estimated 85$ universities are closely concerned about the ranking. In other words, we cannot fail to notice the obvious trend that university ranking has become a social focus , triggering a wide concerns across the nation, especially fromschool campuses。
A host of individuals are divided over this issue about university ranking.an army of folks deem that we are supposed to be concerned about the ranking because the ranking is the sole standard of measuring the school’s comprehensive level.Plus, when choosing the university for their kids, a growing number of parents take the ranking into account. However, others maintain that it’s not a wise and rational idea to view the university ranking as the only standard ,put in another way , we should not over-value the ranking. The ranking is the outward style of the university。
On my personal level, however, ranking matters much to a university , but enhancing the teaching and comprehensive quality is on the top of university’s priority, ranging from the faculty to teaching methods to teaching instruments and so forth.Only in these ways can we bulid up fast-paced and flagship university smoothly。

Nowadays , University and college ranking has become increasingly popular thoughout the nation.According to the survry conducted by China Daily , an estimated 85$ universities are closely concerned about the ranking. In other words, we cannot fail to notice the obvious trend that university ranking has become a social focus , triggering a wide concerns across the nation, especially rom on and off school campus.A host of individuals are divided over this issue about university ranking.an army of folks deem that we are supposed to be concerned about the ranking because the ranking is the sole standard of measuring the school’s comprehensive level , plus, when choosing the university for their kids, a growing number of parents take the ranking into account. However, others maintain that it’s not a wise and rational idea to view the university ranking as the only standard, put in another way , we should not over-value the ranking. The ranking is the outward style of the university. On my ersonal level, however, ranking matters much to a university , but enhancing the teaching and comprehensive quality is on the top of university’s priority, ranging from the faculty to teaching methods to teaching instruments and so forth.Only in these ways can we bulid up fast-paced and flagship university smoothly.
My View on University Ranking
In recent years, all kinds of University Ranking Lists can be found on some educational websites, or newspapers. The ranking standards also vary. These lists have great influence on students. They are even becoming the only scale to evaluate the colleges and universities。
People hold different views toward this phenomenon. Some believe that these lists help the students a lot, especially for those who will choose their university. While some other protest vigorously. In their points, the list is really ridiculous and harmful. In my view, the university ranking may have its own reference values, but its disadvantages overweigh its values。
For those university-students-to-be, they are supposed to choose the school according to his or her own situation, but not the so-called Ranking List. What’s more, how about the university students? How do they feel about themselves when they see the ranking? The list may become some intangible shackles for them if their own school ranks poorly。
In a nutshell, there is no easy method to rank these universities, but the Ranking, only helps students ignore the essentials, namely, their ninety-nine percent perspiration。
