小升初英語(yǔ)單詞構(gòu)詞法秘密

在單詞教學(xué)時(shí),教師可從字母組合、字母組合、輔音連綴、音節(jié)劃分、句子朗讀等方面,增強(qiáng)單詞語(yǔ)音的準(zhǔn)確性和趣味性。針對(duì)小學(xué)生活潑好動(dòng)的特點(diǎn),利用與音素相關(guān)的歌謠、歌曲、謎語(yǔ)、繞口令等,讓學(xué)生在有趣有活動(dòng)中鞏固所學(xué)音標(biāo)和讀音規(guī)則,為掌握好單詞打好基礎(chǔ),如:在教單詞讀音時(shí),可利用相近的單詞語(yǔ)音(park-mark-dark-lark,dear-pear-bear-near)進(jìn)行朗讀訓(xùn)練,提高學(xué)生自讀單詞的能力, 通過(guò)這樣的教學(xué),能夠使學(xué)生輕松地掌握許多新詞,不斷地?cái)U(kuò)大詞匯量。以下是筆者在單詞教學(xué)中拓展詞匯量的一些做法,與大家一起分享。
一、利用舊詞組合,打開增加詞匯量的大門
詞組是構(gòu)成句子的成分,學(xué)好詞組是相當(dāng)重要的,許多舊單詞組合在一起,會(huì)產(chǎn)生新的詞義,利用舊單詞的組合來(lái)記憶新詞組也是增加詞匯量的一個(gè)好方法。例一:教學(xué)
“afternoon”這個(gè)詞時(shí),我把它分成“after(在??以后)”和“noon(中午)”,學(xué)生明確了after的意思后,就能理解:after class(在課后),after school(在放學(xué)后)。例二:教學(xué)“today”時(shí),讓學(xué)生理解“day”的意思是“天”,他們能推理出 all day(整天)、one day(有一天)。例三:教學(xué)“take off(脫下)”時(shí),明確take有“拿、花”的意思:take the book to the classroom(把書拿到教室),take time(花時(shí)間),這樣的例子數(shù)不勝數(shù):on foot(步行),right now(立刻),the Great Wall(長(zhǎng)城),be good at(善于),family name(姓)等等。
二、利用構(gòu)詞方法,揭開英語(yǔ)單詞內(nèi)部的秘密
記得曾經(jīng)有位學(xué)生在作文中寫到:“英語(yǔ)都是由26個(gè)字母組成的,翻來(lái)覆去,隨意組合,顯得枯燥而無(wú)聊?!逼鋵?shí)在英語(yǔ)中,這26個(gè)字母并不是沒(méi)有規(guī)律的隨意組合而是有著相應(yīng)的規(guī)律,如果學(xué)生了解了單詞內(nèi)部隱藏的秘密,他們不但會(huì)很快就記住單詞的拼讀和拼寫,而且能大大增加學(xué)習(xí)興趣、增強(qiáng)學(xué)習(xí)信心。
1.英語(yǔ)構(gòu)詞法之一:復(fù)合法
利用復(fù)合法構(gòu)成的單詞,是由兩個(gè)各自本身有意思的詞,組合在一起,擁有一個(gè)新的意思。例如:classmate(同班同學(xué))= class(班級(jí))+mate(同伴)類似的單詞還有許多,根據(jù)這個(gè)方法可以讓自學(xué)單詞:
同事 workmate校友 schoolmate同桌 deskmate
復(fù)合詞在英語(yǔ)中占有很大的比例,能否正確地對(duì)待他們會(huì)影響詞匯學(xué)習(xí)的效果,教師要抓住機(jī)會(huì),提高其使用價(jià)值。例一:分解復(fù)合詞:watermelon(西瓜)中的water(水、澆水)和melon(西瓜),strawberry(草莓)中的straw(稻草、麥桿)和berry漿果,birthday中的birth(出生)和day日子,playground中的play(玩)和ground(地面),pineapple,keyboard,blackboard,raincoat等等。例二:組成復(fù)合詞:由policeman組成 postman / policewoman,由classmate 組成workmate schoolmate / deskmate,由anything組成something / nothing,由bedroom組成meeting room / sitting room / reading room,由 home和work組成homework(家作),由house和 work組成housework(家務(wù))等等。復(fù)合詞進(jìn)行拆分可以得到更多的詞匯,而且都是非常相近,便于記憶,學(xué)生的詞匯量大大增加。以下復(fù)合詞可供大家參考:

2.英語(yǔ)構(gòu)詞法之二:派生法
形象地說(shuō)“派生法”就是從一個(gè)單詞引申出另外一個(gè)新詞。學(xué)生也會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)許多單詞加一些詞綴就成了另一個(gè)詞,什么叫詞綴呢?大家先來(lái)看一個(gè)例子:beautiful(美麗的)----beautifully(美麗地)在beautiful的后面加-ly,就變成了副詞。象“-ly”這樣的東西,叫做詞綴。同學(xué)們一定要注意詞綴是不能單獨(dú)作單詞的。小學(xué)生教師應(yīng)在平時(shí)的教學(xué)中,注重學(xué)習(xí)方法的培養(yǎng),對(duì)詞匯的學(xué)習(xí)和記憶來(lái)說(shuō),從整體上把握詞匯不但能增加詞匯量,而且能使學(xué)生較好掌握構(gòu)詞方式,為初中的詞匯學(xué)習(xí)打下扎實(shí)的基礎(chǔ)。例一:小學(xué)英語(yǔ)中有
work(工作)和worker(工人),讓學(xué)生明白“-er”表示干某事的人,引進(jìn)例①teacher(教師)teach(教書),②clean(打掃)cleaner(打掃的人)③play(玩、表演)player(選手),driver(司機(jī))去“r”drive(開車),write(寫)加“r”writer作家。
小學(xué)期間的派生詞為數(shù)較多:
1.–er 表示“人”、“容器、器具”:
cooker farmer teachertin-opener waiter worker
2.–or表示“人”: doctor visitoractor
3.–r 表示“人”、“器具”:driver dancerwriterdriver
4.– n 表示“某國(guó)的人”: America—American Australia—Australian
5.–ese 表示“某國(guó)語(yǔ)言”:China—Chinese Japan—Japanese
6.–ly 表示副詞:beautiful—beautifully careful—carefully loud—loudly quiet—quietly real—really usual—usually
7.–ly 表示形容詞:love—lovely
8.–ing 表示名詞:
build—building camp—camping

9.–teen表示數(shù)字十幾:four—fourteen,six— sixteen, seven—seventeen
10.–ty表示幾十:six—sixty, seven—seventy, eight—eighty

3.英語(yǔ)構(gòu)詞法之三:轉(zhuǎn)化法
轉(zhuǎn)化法,顧名思義,就是把單詞的一種詞性轉(zhuǎn)化成另一種詞性。這樣的單詞在英語(yǔ)里有許多許多。因?yàn)閱卧~本身的組成沒(méi)有改變,只是詞性進(jìn)行改變,記憶起來(lái)更加容易。英語(yǔ)里有大量的多義詞,教師可以充分利用這些詞來(lái)增加詞匯量,例一:小學(xué)英語(yǔ)里所學(xué)的may是“可以”的意思,我給學(xué)生增加了兩個(gè)意思:May當(dāng)m大寫時(shí):①五月 ②人名:梅。例二:小學(xué)英語(yǔ)里所學(xué)有關(guān)顏色的詞green、black、brown表示綠色、黑色、棕色,當(dāng)首字母大寫時(shí)還表示人的姓:Green格林、Black布萊克、Brown布朗,這樣的例子還有很多:light(燈、淺色、輕的),bank(銀行、河岸),letter(信、字母),break(休息、打破)等。小學(xué)期間的轉(zhuǎn)化詞為歸類如下:

雖然小學(xué)階段所學(xué)單詞不多,但是英語(yǔ)單詞往往有許多開發(fā)的潛力,如果教師能正確利用所學(xué)單詞,通過(guò)各種有效的方法,不僅能增加學(xué)生的詞匯量, 而且能提高學(xué)生自學(xué)詞匯的能力,使今后的英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)更容
