to the description of the gardener who sent the warning to Laura,Walter immediately realized that it is the same person he met the day before he came to Limmeridge House where the two sisters lived.She was the woman in white.She told Walter that she was the friend of Mrs Farlie,the mother of the two sisters,and loved she very much the night of their meeting.Walter didn't know that the lady that the woman in white referred to is the mother of his students.He didn't know either that from that moment his future and that of Laura's had been tied together.Though both Laura and Walter had a deep emotion towards each other,Laura didn't allow herselt to break the promise she had made to her father.Marian told everthing to Walter about her sister's promise and marriage and suggested that he leave before both of them had trapped too much.Walter left with great sorrow.And Laura married Sir Percival as arranged.But there was one thing that confused Laura's lawyer was that Percival insisted had to turn to Laura's uncle,who was now the master of the Limmerig House,for help.Her uncle was a very self-centered person,who only kept his health in mind and cared nothing else.So the lawyer had to agree the request of Sir Percival.Laura was very reluctant to be married with Sir Percival and her misery began since then.As the warning said,her husband treated her badly.To her relief,Marian lived with her and shared the burden and misery that she suffered from her devil husband.One day accidentally Laura met a woman who looked like her very much and was almost another Laura after an illness.Because she seemed paler and weaker than Laura.Actually she was that woman in white,Anne,the daughter of Mrs Catherick.Both the mother and the daughter knew the secret of Sir Percival,once the secret gave out ,it would destroy him completely.That's why Sir Percival was afraid of Anne very much and tried his best to make others believe that Anne had some mental problems and sent her to an asylum.So nobody would believe the words of a mad woman.It's lucky that Anne had escaped.She intended to tell Laura the secret,but before she could do that she was found by Percival's friend,Count Fosco.So she had to postpone the meeting with Laura and save herself.Sir Percival changed into another person after his marriage.He kept forcing Laura to sign on a document so that the money would be transferred into his name.Because Marian had heard his plot by accident and she warned Laura about her husband's plot,so Laura refused which made him very angry.While the bigger plot was waiting for them.After the night that Marian heard the conversation of Sir Percival and Count Fosco in the rain,she was badly ill and stayed in bed for days.From the conversation she knew the real purpose that Sir Percival married Laura was that Laura was the holder of twenty thousand dollars.He wanted to use this amount of money to pay his debt.Laura was ill too after some days of taking care of Marian.She fainted.After she woke up,she could't find her sister.And she was told that Marian had been taken by Fosco to London for improvement of her health.At first,Laura couldn't believe it because she was sure her beloved sister wouldn't leave her alone to deal with all the troubles.While indeed she couldn't find her sister so she left for London.The poor girl didn't know all of this was a swindle.After she arrived at London ,after a cup of tea that Fosco gave her ,she not only saw her sister,but knew nothing about it until she found herself in the asylum.The truth was that Marian wasn't sent to London,she was just transfered to another place in the house.Afer she recovered,the first news she heard was Laura's death from heart disease.She was very upset.Besides she was very regret of having asked Walter to leave her sister before they both trapped too much,she felt guilty of her sister's unhappiness.She returned to the Limmerige House.There her uncle showed her a letter from Fosco informing him to be careful.Fosco said that they had found Anne and sent her back to asylum again.She got worse by keeping claiming herself as Laura.Fosco just reminded her uncle not to believe any information that Laura was still alive.Marian felt very strange at such a letter.She wanted to what happened on earth.The result surprised Marian very much because the so-called Anne was actually her sister,Laura.The reason why Fosco succeeded in deceiving everybody was the similarity between Laura and Anne.And in the last few part of the novel we know that they were actually sisters.They had the same father.Marian tried her best to help Laura out of the asylum.While Laura had changed to a different person.Before marriage,she always smiled and was lovey and happy.But now you could see no change of expressions from her face.The devil husband almost destroyed her.Because of the letter that Fosco sent to Mr Farlie,their uncle refused to accept her as his neice.The servants couldn't recognise Laura either due to her so great changes.So they had to leave the place where they had spent their happiest life.Before leaving,Laura insisted to see their mother's grave.There they met Walter who just came back from the expedition to central America.Later on they figured out what happened on earth.Fosco and Percival caught Anne and because of her bad health,Anne died immediately after she was caught.The took her body as Laura's and make everybody believe that Laura had died.By doing this,Percival could get the property from Laura to pay his debts.All the plot ,troubles and tragedy were due to money.What a pity!

The secret that may destroy Percival was that he committed the forgery by adding the record of his parents' marriage himself.At that time ,forgery was a very serious

crime.Once discovered,he would be punished severely.After he knew that Walter had known his secret,he hurried to the church in hope of destroying the proof.In a hurry,he upset the lantern and locked himself in the fire and never came out again.What moved me very much was that at that time Walter tried to save him and forgot that he was his enemy.What was in his mind was only that he was a human being who was caught in fire and needed help

.Maybe that's why people can master the world ,not any other animals.Human beings have some unique characters which may not be found even by themselves.Once disaster comes,they will explode and produce unbelievable power.After all, the story had a happy ending.Laura and Walter got married and had a son,who became the master of Limmerig House after Mr Farlie's death.Kindness is the most treasurable character in the world,I think.Never never give up the chance of sticking to your kindness.

《白衣夫人》的小說(shuō)我之所以看這本書只有一個(gè)理由，安德魯·勞埃德·韋伯將其后來(lái)改編為音樂(lè)劇了，《白衣女人》讀后感。雖然這部音樂(lè)劇沒(méi)有受到他以往作品同樣的歡迎，但還是看了

我習(xí)慣先看譯者的序，原來(lái)威爾基·柯林斯和著名的狄更斯是同時(shí)代的，而且在當(dāng)時(shí)與之齊名。狄更斯的小說(shuō)我只在中學(xué)時(shí)看過(guò)一本《遠(yuǎn)大前程》覺(jué)得不是很有樂(lè)趣。然而，我讀了《白衣夫人》的開頭之后，我則非常贊同譯者的序言中的話，柯林斯是一個(gè)講故事的好手，我對(duì)這本書的敘事手法和小說(shuō)的故事產(chǎn)生了興趣。

我喜歡故事里面柯林斯的語(yǔ)言，當(dāng)然也許這也得益于中文譯者的努力，他在敘述之中帶有一種典型的英式的諷刺幽默，這種風(fēng)格是我一向喜歡的。我想這個(gè)可能跟柯林斯的獨(dú)特個(gè)性有關(guān)，當(dāng)然他還沒(méi)有王爾德那樣出位。雖然這里的文風(fēng)與簡(jiǎn)·奧斯汀的文風(fēng)有所不同，但是柯林斯也用很簡(jiǎn)短的話通過(guò)一個(gè)角色之口對(duì)于一些小說(shuō)的人物做了精辟的描述。

這部小說(shuō)中我其實(shí)最喜歡的人物并非愛(ài)情的男女主角，而是女方的姐姐瑪麗安，她并不漂亮，臉蛋和其完美的身材絕不相稱，她沒(méi)有財(cái)產(chǎn)但絕不貪戀財(cái)富，始終呵護(hù)著那位和她并沒(méi)有共同血緣的妹妹。她了解自己的位置，也了解女性所處的地位。她思維敏捷，表達(dá)風(fēng)趣，一句話iq比較高，甚至于吸引了反面主角的青睞，讀后感《《白衣女人》讀后感》。

相比之下，她的妹妹勞拉的形象就很單薄，只是美麗、單純、富有、善良，幾乎集中了男人心中理想所有優(yōu)點(diǎn)。當(dāng)然，她還有一點(diǎn)，比較弱不禁風(fēng)，這樣還更容易惹人憐愛(ài)。男主角哈特萊特，兩位小姐的繪畫教師，就是年輕、正義的化身，讀者一定會(huì)對(duì)他和勞拉的愛(ài)情報(bào)以同情。但是兩人不但門不當(dāng)戶不對(duì)，勞拉還必須得遵從父親的遺愿，不久就要嫁給一個(gè)幾乎可以當(dāng)他父親的貴族。而白衣女人的出現(xiàn)似乎讓人感到了一絲希望，希望在婚禮之前能發(fā)生點(diǎn)什么事情，阻止婚禮的發(fā)生。這里就讓讀者感覺(jué)到一種哥特式的氣氛，神秘、黑暗而且還往往出現(xiàn)一個(gè)瘋子。

可是，婚禮還是如期舉行了。稍微提一下，勞拉的叔父費(fèi)爾利，簡(jiǎn)直是沒(méi)心沒(méi)肺、傲慢無(wú)恥的一個(gè)人，親人對(duì)他而言無(wú)足輕重，他是小說(shuō)中兩位反角的最大幫兇。

在是否舉行婚禮以及后來(lái)發(fā)生的事情，作者并沒(méi)有讓哈特萊特以第一人稱繼續(xù)敘述下去。而是通過(guò)其他角色的敘述來(lái)完成故事的發(fā)展，然后再回到哈特萊特的敘述。其中，我們對(duì)白衣女人的身份和目的多次懷疑和改變，直到最后才揭露事情的真相?？创藭母杏X(jué)更讓人感到是在看一部偵探玄疑小說(shuō)，而不是一部愛(ài)情小說(shuō)，作者將這兩者融合在了一起。在敘述故事中，柯林斯也很好完成了小說(shuō)中很多人物形象的塑造，有的是從多個(gè)角度，有的則是寥寥幾筆卻也躍然紙上。

Plot, the Important Elements of a Story

As far as I am concerned, the book The Woman in White is worthy of reading twice.It’s an interesting story.And what touched me most is the attractive plot.After finishing this book, I realize that the plot is one of the essential elements for a book to be a best seller.While I was reading The Women in White, I always guessed what would happen next, and I always failed to make the right conjecture.But it didn’t make me depressed.Instead of being dismayed, I became more and more interested in the book.In my opinion, a fascinating book has to keep its mystery from the first beginning to the end.And the readers never know what will happen next so that they will keep on their readings.For the book The Woman in White, when I first saw Percival Glyde, the baronet, Laura’s fiancé, I regarded him as a respective, smart, humorous gentleman.I fell in love with the characters at the first sight.I looked forward to his wedding with Laura, and I thought they will have a happy ending.But in the next page of the book, it showed that Mr.Percival was a bad guy.There were much evidence which are relevant to his crime so that I gradually accept the idea that Mr.Percival was involved in some guilty job, but again, it seemed that he was innocent and he was a good man.In order to find out the real character of Percival Glyde, I kept on reading and reading, and I

couldn’t move my eyes from the book until I reach the exactly result.Take Ann Cathreric, the woman in white, as another example.Ann was in white from the head to feet when she first appeared in the book, and she always dressed herself like that.Because of the book’s title—The Woman in White—I thought that, with no doubt, Ann was the heroine of the book.So I put much attention to her description.But as I moved my eyes from sentence to sentence, I gradually found that Ann isn’t the heroine.Then I was curious about the real heroine, and I looked forward to her debut.By the way, Ann took an important role in the story, anyway.And at the first sight of Ann’s description, I thought she was a pitiful woman who had suffered a lot of misery.I began to guess what had happened to the poor woman and I was in expectation of the author’s explanation of Ann’s bitter fate.But then I knew that Ann escaped form an asylum, and there’s no doubt that she has some medical problem.More or less, I lost my interest in Ann.when I read further, I found that she was lock in the asylum by baronet Percival because Ann knew his crime, andhe was afraid that she would let his secrete out of the back.Again, I am curious about Ann’s experiences, and wanted to figure out what happened to her.In the end, it turned out that Ann isn’t a lunatic.But finally, the poor woman died.In the process of reading, I am usually in confusion and in order to find out the truth, I have to continue my reading.So I think a successful book

should be a mysterious book, and you can’t know the result until you put your eyes onto the last sentence.Think about that, there are two books—book A and book B.For book A, you can guess the ending of the story when you finish the first several chapters.While for book B, you can’t know the exactly ending until you finish the whole book.Then which book would you like? 最近我讀了一本書叫《林中飄過(guò)的白衣女人》，這本書恐怖驚險(xiǎn)，內(nèi)容豐富，非常好看。

這本書主要講了路克約好朋友碧吉和帕特里克去森林里吃野餐，在森林里看到了一個(gè)戴面紗，全身白衣的女人。事后，路克他們碰見(jiàn)了一個(gè)騎著馬的女孩，他們跟蹤那個(gè)女孩來(lái)到了一幢別墅，他們進(jìn)了別墅，在房里碰見(jiàn)了白衣女人.......經(jīng)過(guò)好幾天的破案，他們終于明白了這件事：原來(lái)那個(gè)女孩叫娜塔莉，而那個(gè)白衣女人是她姑姑漢莉埃塔假扮的，娜塔莉的父母很富有，漢莉埃塔把她父母殺害了，這樣，娜塔莉父母的遺產(chǎn)就能分給她一半，另一半分給娜塔莉。娜塔莉的姑姑和姑父想把娜塔莉的那一份搶過(guò)來(lái)，于是，漢莉埃塔就裝成白衣女人把娜塔莉嚇進(jìn)了一個(gè)密道，把她鎖起來(lái)，準(zhǔn)備餓死她。這么難破的案子最終還是被路克破解了。

在這本書中，我很贊嘆路克。他遇事冷靜，無(wú)論什么地方，什么時(shí)候，他辦案都很沉著，永不慌張，在什么情況下都能正確的破案。我贊嘆碧吉，她堅(jiān)韌執(zhí)著，從來(lái)不丟三落四。她視死如歸，從來(lái)沒(méi)有膽怯過(guò)。我贊嘆帕特里克，他是個(gè)運(yùn)動(dòng)健將，撐桿跳，跳高，跳遠(yuǎn)他都會(huì)，總是在關(guān)鍵時(shí)刻立功。

這本書使我懂得了：人不要那么膽小，要勇敢，大膽起來(lái)。無(wú)論遇到什么事，都要持之以恒，不要?jiǎng)硬粍?dòng)就放棄。要勇于面對(duì)現(xiàn)實(shí)，不管怎樣也要堅(jiān)持到底，才能在社會(huì)上做個(gè)有用的人。

The films which are played by the teacher in the Western Film Appreciation Course are classical.These films not only introduce the culture of western country, but also touch everyone’s soul, make everyone to think about life.I am aways moved by these films.Among these films, my favorite is Scent of a Woman.Scent of a Woman is about a poor but excellent prep school student Charlie faces with the dilemma of whether or not tell the president who played a trick on him.If he tells the president the fact that he knew, the president promises Charlie that he will be admitted by Harvard, if not, he will be expelled.A retired blind Colonel Frank who hires Charlie as his companion.Frank arranges a special tour to New York City in the Thanksgiving weekend with Charlie.Frank lives in dark, so he has lost the motivation to keep alive in the world, he intends to commit suicide after enjoying the tour.Charlie saves Frank from verge of death ,Frank is moved by Charlie’s brave and feels the true love from Charlie’s perseverance , finally, he give up to kill himself and gets the hope and confidence again.Frank makes a speech in Charlie’s school and persuade the Disciplinary Committee not to expell Charlie for he didn’t tell the fact.Scent of a Woman tells us not to lose hope of life, even if you are blind like Frank.Frank is a very proud man with a glorious time as a colonel , so he is very negative after he became blind.His familis do not know what he need indeed.He thinks he is a failed man, useless, the only way to finish the unhappy life is to kill himself.But in fact, he is a charming person.He is able to dance the tango and drive a Ferrari better than normal people.He tells Charlie he just live with some thoughts.When Frank being despairing, Charlie faces Frank’s gun bravely and tells Frank he is attractive when he danced the tango and draved Ferrari.Actually,we are afraid of death as well as Frank.We can’t live with beautiful thing all the time ,but there is always a reason keeps us go on.Don’t lose hope of life.Charlie makes an example for me, he didn’t sell anybody out to buy his future.With the help of Frank,Charlie insists on his own belief, throwing away the burdens and selfishness.The character of integrity is one of America Values which this film wants to convey.It is difficult for everyone to keep honest all the time.Integrity and courage are the stuff leaders should be made of.Charlie guides a bright way for his classmates and us.In the tour to New York City, Charlie finds Frank’s attraction and helps frank restore confidence to his life.Frank thinks highly of Charlie because of Charlie is pure in heart.The relation between Frank and Charlie gradually become like father and son.Sometimes our confidence comes from other’s encouragement and praise, so it is important to know how to praise.Our lifewill suffer loneliness and depression, but friendship will warm our heart.We have much to share with our friends in life, including happiness and sadness, so it is important for you to find real friendship.In our life, we always suffer different misfortunes in each of our stage, but we should be those who face up to the cruel world bravely instead of being negative.
