      我自己是從教授雅思開始轉(zhuǎn)向教授托??谡Z的,所謂的轉(zhuǎn)向并不是之后再也不教授雅思的口語課程而是同時教授雅思口語和托??谡Z,之所以交代這一點是因為絕大多數(shù)的雅思口語老師僅僅是教授一門雅思口語的話會有局限這個筆者會另有時間解釋,但是對于托??谡Z老師而言,絕大多數(shù)的托??谡Z老師都有教授雅思口語的經(jīng)歷,我自己的這個經(jīng)歷對于很多即將教授托福口語或者已經(jīng)同事教授兩門口語課程的老師將是既具有價值的。

      首先需要明白托福口語學(xué)生的問題是什么,絕大多數(shù)的老師因為是從大班轉(zhuǎn)型成為現(xiàn)在的老師的,除了新東方極個別學(xué)校還有很大的班級之外全國的教學(xué)機(jī)構(gòu)現(xiàn)在早已經(jīng)轉(zhuǎn)型成為小班教學(xué)為主,但是因為老師們是從大班教學(xué)的模式轉(zhuǎn)變過來,主要的問題就是教課的方式只要是個人展示型而不是問題解決型,也就是說老師只是在講自己認(rèn)為對學(xué)生重要的東西而不是講對學(xué)生而言重要的東西。筆者認(rèn)為托福的學(xué)生最主要的問題有兩個,一個是對于考試的題型不熟悉,第二就是不知道怎么說。

      所謂的對于考試的題型不熟悉,乍一聽,感覺好像這個問題很簡單,實際上這是托??谡Z培訓(xùn)教學(xué)里面的一個大問題,很多的老師在講解提醒的時候只是一味的解釋題型并不去認(rèn)真的追究到底問什么ETS出這個題型,如果在講解提醒的時候告訴學(xué)生問什么出這個題型,學(xué)生會對考試的理解深刻很多,另外很多的老師在講解題型的時候感覺題型就是按照托福官方指南(Official Guide for TOEFL)里面題型的介紹的英文讀一遍或者簡單的翻譯一遍,殊不知這樣子做對于學(xué)生后來對于托福口語題型的理解造成很大的困惑。那么怎樣才能夠避免這個問題?筆者多年的經(jīng)驗告訴我們在講解題型的時候要放慢速度,比如說第一題和第二題在講解的時候要告訴學(xué)生第一題出題的思路是要求學(xué)生在15秒的準(zhǔn)備之后可以用自己的語言在45秒鐘之內(nèi)講清楚自己的一個觀點。第二題是讓學(xué)生在兩個選擇當(dāng)中選擇一個出來之后在解釋清楚自己的觀點。(現(xiàn)在的托??谡Z實際上已經(jīng)很大的變化,限于篇幅不能在這里繼續(xù)討論)如果只是這么講,這兩道題會讓學(xué)生丈二和尚摸不著頭腦,因為學(xué)生會問第一我該說什么?第二我怎么說?筆者自己的上百個一對一的托??谡Z學(xué)生(上大班的學(xué)生因為交流不夠多并沒有足夠多的信息去證明筆者的觀點,但是筆者每年教授近百位的一對一的學(xué)生因為每個人都建立有檔案可以跟蹤學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)進(jìn)步情況,更可以讓筆者了解學(xué)生口語成績的提高,或者說因為什么提高,怎樣才是讓一個學(xué)生在最短時間最快速,最大程度的提高一個中國學(xué)生托福口語成績的方法,因為筆者的長期實踐,甚至?xí)霈F(xiàn)學(xué)生的口語和聽力倒掛的情況,就是說學(xué)生的聽力成績?yōu)閭€位數(shù)但是口語卻考到了20分的情況,這就說明口語教學(xué)方法的成功,或者說是找到了學(xué)生真正地問題)。這些學(xué)生在上課的時候最集中的問題就是上過了大班但是根本不知道托??谡Z一二題是什么,主要原因就是在班里面教師只是在講自己認(rèn)為重要的東西,教師因為個人教學(xué)經(jīng)驗不充足導(dǎo)致上課的速度無法掌握所以出現(xiàn)快速的推進(jìn)12題,可是中國的學(xué)生恰恰是12題目最有可能拿到滿分。因此,教師一定要不斷地上課,不斷在上課當(dāng)中學(xué)習(xí)怎么控制托福口語12題的講題速度。原則就是一個,一定要讓學(xué)生明白兩點。第一托??谡Z的答題思路。第二,托??谡Z中話題發(fā)展(topic development)的重要性。

      ANS:與傳統(tǒng)筆記相同,自考試當(dāng)天起算二年內(nèi)有效。

      FAQ:若選擇CBT測驗,是否有機(jī)會再參加筆試?

      ANS:ETS規(guī)定,只要實施CBT測驗,就沒有再舉行正式托福筆試的機(jī)會,除非在北美地區(qū)有些學(xué)術(shù)機(jī)構(gòu)自行舉辦的所謂 Institutional TOEFL Test還是用筆試外,再也沒有機(jī)會參加筆試了。

      ANS:沒有,但是ETS規(guī)定每們考生每月只能考一次,繼續(xù)兩次測驗中間不須間隔30天,所以如果有某些因素急著考二次,則最好選擇一次在月底,另一次在下個月初。

      FAQ:考后多久才會收到正式的托福成績?

      還沒有做過托福口語練習(xí)的同學(xué)也許對托??谡Z題型不是很了解,口語總共有四大考試類型,每一題相互獨立各不相同。在這四道題當(dāng)中,同學(xué)們經(jīng)??匆娨郧暗目忌f托福口語第三題比較難,是不是如此呢?編輯這就為大家做一個詳盡的分析。

      托??谡Z題型有哪幾種?

      第1題、Independent task 1是Free Choice題,要求考生就某一常規(guī)話題用英語做45秒鐘的陳述??忌鷮τ谶@道題的準(zhǔn)備應(yīng)主要集中在people、place、object、event(人、地、物、事)這幾個大方面。在教學(xué)的過程中,讓考生扎實的準(zhǔn)備OG、藍(lán)Delta、TPO、真經(jīng)與口語特訓(xùn)等教材里所出現(xiàn)的題目,盡管當(dāng)考試時,出現(xiàn)的情況不是很多,但是在復(fù)習(xí)過程中準(zhǔn)備過的具體內(nèi)容在考場上的作用卻非常大。比如 “Describe the place you live in”與“Which city do you travel to most”、“Who is the person you admire most”與“Whom would you choose to visit for one hour”就可以相互借用大部分內(nèi)容。

      第2題、Independent task 2是Paired Choice題,也就是要求考生在提供的兩個選擇中選擇自己喜歡的一個,并用details和examples支持自己的觀點。如“ If you could choose to live in the city or live in the country areas, which lifestyle would you prefer and why”,在教學(xué)過程中,應(yīng)教學(xué)生迅速確定自己的立場,其余的按照 Free Choice的準(zhǔn)備就可以了,同時比Free Choice更好的表述是考生可以采用“抨擊”另一種觀點的方式來準(zhǔn)備details。但是,本題在某些時候以“Do you agree or disagree”或者“compare and contrast”的形式出現(xiàn),對于后者而言,在教學(xué)中,應(yīng)告訴考生不必表明自己的觀點,只要陳述出兩種選擇的可比之處并加以詮釋就可以了。

      第3題、托??谡Z第三題是一道綜合任務(wù)題,要求考生在45秒之內(nèi)讀完一則notice或者 announcement,然后聽一段對話或者monologue(獨白),在聽力材料中,說話者三立教育004km.cn

      第4題、是關(guān)于學(xué)術(shù)講座的復(fù)述。這個部分要求考生在45秒之內(nèi)閱讀一段學(xué)術(shù)內(nèi)容的文章,然后聽一段教授的講座,需要注意的是教授的講座可能是針對閱讀材料中的某一個細(xì)節(jié)進(jìn)行發(fā)散性的詳細(xì)講解。這個環(huán)節(jié)的題目要求是客觀陳述教授是怎樣以examples和de tails來闡釋reading中出現(xiàn)的某個術(shù)語。因此在教學(xué)過程中,要學(xué)生做reading notes時,要爭取記下提到的術(shù)語的定義或者對某科學(xué)現(xiàn)象的分類和發(fā)展階段等重要信息;而在做listening notes時則要對教授的舉例和分類做重點記錄,同時在問題出現(xiàn)后要抓緊30秒鐘時間對reading和listening notes進(jìn)行合理組織,建議考生抓緊時間標(biāo)記出topic sentence的key words和supporting details,并將它們編號,幫助自己理清陳述的思路。

      以上就是四大常見托??谡Z題型了,其中托??谡Z第三題參雜有聽力部分,也許這也是為什么有很多人說這一題難的原因了??偟膩砜?,我們在平常的托??谡Z練習(xí)中,一定要學(xué)會的一點就是自我觀點的陳述,理清思路以合乎邏輯的方式表達(dá)出來。因為,國外的思想主張個性的釋放,以及個人綜合素質(zhì)的提升,自信和獨立性是他們考核的重點,所以大家平時要多關(guān)注口語相關(guān)的材料并且不斷做出自己的看法和論點。
