(3)記敘文應(yīng)該包括六要素,即:時間(when)、地點(where)、人物(who)、事件(what)、原因(why)和結(jié)果(how)?? 最后簡單寫感想(after the spring outing)。
Debbie and Simon are students. On Saturday mornings, when they are not at school, they are at work. They have part-time jobs with the Sunbeam Travel Company. They are sitting in the office.Debbie and Simon looked up as the door opened and a middle-aged, well-dressed lady entered. She glanced at them both, hesitated a moment, then walked over and sat down opposite Debbie.Debbie greeted her cheerfully, and got down to business.“I want to go by train from Germany to Paris. Can you…?”
Simon sighed, picked up some paper from his desk and took it over to the fax machine.Mr Yang, one of Sunbeam’s senior employees, was standing there. He said, “What’s up, Simon? You don’t look very happy?”
“Nothing,” Simon said.Mr Yang put his hand on Simon’s shoulder.“Come on,” he said.“Tell me.I’m your friend as well as your colleague.” He gave an encouraging smile.“It’s the customers,” Simon said.“They always prefer Debbie to me.I can’t understand it.” “I can. It’s the way you communicate.”
“How can that be?” Simon said.“I don’t even get a chance to speak to them.”
“Communicating is more than speaking and listening, Simon.Your body language is important, too.”
“What kind of language is that?”
“It’s the way you stand and sit and walk. It’s your gesture and the expression on your face and in your eyes.Your whole appearance communicates things, even when you are not speaking.”
“The way you look at customers doesn’t give them a good impression, Simon. For example, you often rest your head on your hand. You look downwards. You don’t smile. You don’t turn your head or your body toward the customers.”
“ But look at Debbie. She’s holding her head up.She looks at a customer’s eyes. She turns her head and her body towards the customer.Your body language is telling customers to go away.Debbie’s is making them feel welcome. That’s why they go to her, and not to you.”
After that, Simon tried to improve his body language. He sat up and smiled at the customers. This seemed to work.Minutes later, a very beautiful girl entered. She looked at Debbie and Simon and, without hesitation, sat down opposite Simon and gave him a big smile.A few moments late, she left, still smiling.Mr Yang came over at once and said, “Well, Simon, you certainly made a good impression on that customer.Well done.”
“That wasn’t a customer,” Simon said.“That was my sister. She wanted to borrow some money for lunch.”
A happy Journey During the Spring Festival holidays, Mother and I had been invited to spend several days at my aunt’s at Xiamen. As we had some rather heavy luggage, we had to go to the station by taxi, and father went to see us off.We bought our tickets and then sat down in the waiting room till it was time for us to leave. As we entered the platform, we had to show our tickets. We got into the carriage, which was not at all crowded, so we were able to find a good seat by the window. When the train started we said good-bye to each other, and father told us to take care of ourselves. At first I found it very interesting to look out of the window. The train traveled quickly and smoothly along, passing farms and villages, over one or two bridges and through some tunnels. After an hour or two, however, I began to feel tired of sitting still, although the seats and cushions were comfortable enough and I looked forward to the end of the journey. After a long train ride we reached our destination at last.As soon as we stepped down from the train we saw aunt and two cousins, who had come to meet us on the platform.
My Daily life I get up at six o’clock every day.I dress myself quickly and then I brush my teeth, wash my face and hands.I comb my hair. After that I go to the courtyard to do morning exercise.I read Chinese or English aloud for twenty minutes or more.I take my breakfast at ten to seven and get ready for school at sever sharp.I have four lessons in the morning and two in the afternoon.I study hard and always help my classmates with their lessons.I came home for lunch at noon and go to school again at half past one.School is over at five. After supper I read newspapers or watch TV for half an hour.I prepare my lessons between half past seven and half past nine.I go to bed at ten.The above is a brief account of my daily life on weekdays. There is no school on Sundays.I usually review my lessons in the morning and visit some friends or have a chat with my friends on the Internet in the afternoon.【例4】
An Interesting experience It was a fine day yesterday.Early in the morning, I went swimming in the sea with a friend of mine.We set out very early on bikes, carrying bottles of water, bags of cakes and so on.On the way we breathed the fresh air and laughed heartily. When we reached the shore there were already a large number of people enjoying themselves on the seashore. Some were playing in the sand and others were looking for seashells here and there. Many boys and girls were learning to swim in the sea.I couldn’t wait to jump into the sea.The sea water felt a little cold. But I was so happy that I forgot all about it.I was a little afraid at first, but my friend encouraged me and taught me.Little by little, I could swim a short distance. It was great fun to be able to float in the water.Tired from swimming we lay down on the seashore, bathing in the sun, drinking, eating, and talking about our life and future. At about 4 p.m.we returned home with salt on our bodies and freshness in our hearts.【例5】

Last winter I fell off my bike. One of my legs was badly hurt and I had to stay in bed.One evening, when I was alone and feeling sad, Mrs Li, my English teacher, came to see me.I was too excited to speak.“I am very sorry to hear the bad news,” she began, taking a seat by my side.“You don’t have to worry about your lessons.I can help you.”
“Thank you, Mrs Li.But you are so busy. What’s more, you are in poor health yourself.” “Never mind.” With the words, she took out of the textbook and began to explain the text. From then on she came to help me every now and then. With her help, I caught up with my classmates though I was rather poor in English before.

寫好英語記敘文的基本方法是:首先明確所要記敘的要素,即五個w和一個h(when,where,who,what,why,how). 敘文主要是由時間(when)、地點(where)、人物(who)、事件(what)、原因(why)和結(jié)果(result)六要素構(gòu)成。

第二篇:the day my classmates fell ill篇四:英語記敘文的寫作方法
例如: i loved the book first because of its beautiful heroine.then i found it a romantic love story which greatly moved me.i now find that it is better taken as the growth story of a naive girl into a strong-willed woman.i realize that it is the essence of the book that attracts such big number of faithful readers.
我們來看這樣一段文章的開頭: the results of the college entrance examination came.i tore open the envelope.as soon as i saw the score, tears streamed down my face.i fell into my bed and did not get up the whole day.all was over.what is the meaning to live on earth? for the first time,i thought of death,of being a vagrant and of being single all my life.i was only seventeen.wasn’t it cruel to me? my father was hurt and he could not stand it that his son was a disgrace.he was angry beyond words.my mother kept silent, and often i saw her in tears.horror filled the house.
如first、second、moreover、for one thing?for another、on the one hand?on the other hand等。
如,表示“重視”的詞匯有stress,emphasize等,但選用短語attach importance to更能吸引閱卷人的注意;disagree和frown on sth.
如: we were very much surprised. mary refused the invitation. we were very much surprised at/by mary’s refusal of the invitation.(2)定語化手段:根據(jù)語義關(guān)系,可以把其中一句轉(zhuǎn)換成形容詞或形容詞性成分、分詞短語、定語從句等,如:
the winnerwas in no mood for speeches. the winner was hot and tired. thewinner, hot and tired, was in no mood for speeches.(轉(zhuǎn)換成形容詞短語)7.
檢查的內(nèi)容不是“大處著眼”,而是“小處著手”;不是考慮作文的框架結(jié)構(gòu),而是留心細枝末節(jié)。即檢查:(1)動詞時態(tài)是否正確(還包括主句與從句中的謂語動詞時態(tài));(2)主謂語是否一致;
(3)代詞的指代關(guān)系是否清楚; ’(4)動賓搭配是否合適;(5)用詞是否錯誤;(6)冠詞;
(7)大小寫、標點符號;
范文分析 directions: now you are allowed thirty minutes to write a passage on the title my best friend.you should write at least 100-120 words following the outline given below in chinese: 1.
my best friend upon the words “best friend”, a figure jumps into my mind(jump這個詞使一個人物形象活靈活現(xiàn)地展現(xiàn)在讀者眼前)—zhang ye—my schoolmate in senior high school and also my best friend.during the three years in high school, we shared countless moments of laughter and tears, joy and sorrow.(排比句式能使表達更有力度,而且將與朋友的共同經(jīng)歷描繪得豐富多彩)she is of medium height and slim figure.though not strong, she is really a girl with amazing stamina(毅力).despite the similarities in our outlook on life and living, it is always she, the physically weaker one, who encouraged and urged me to finish some tasks when i attempted to give up.when we were preparing for the national entrance exam, she cheered me up emotionally and would give me a hand whenever i was in trouble.but for everything she did for me, i couldn’t have had this opportunity to give a decent job with a decent pay.after the exam, she got enrolled by tsinghua university in beijing while i went to a college in south china.(對3年中兩人共同勉勵、共同奮斗經(jīng)歷的敘述為讀者展示了一段難忘的人生時光,確實不愧為best friend)for the past several years, we have been in touch and share everything we are experiencing, sad or happy, dull or exciting.true friendship lasts life long.friendship is a magic.it can melt the ice in one’s heart and blow away the mist on one’s mind.it can inspire others and outdo the self.(再次應(yīng)用排比句式表達了對友誼真諦的理解,感人至深)i believe the friendship between zhang ye and me will be the life-time beacon for both of us.
而其中所使用的句式和詞匯(melt the ice in one’s heart;blow away the mist on one’s mind;inspire others and outdo the self)也展示了作者深厚的語言功底。

十字路口 crossroad(s)n.
哥哥騎車帶我去電影院 go to the cinema by bicycle 2. 半小時前他們因騎車帶人被警察攔住 be stopped by a policeman, half an hour ago 4.警察罰他們抓住下一個違章者 made them catch the next offender 5.于是我們照樣被罰,接他們的班 stand, wait to catch another offender 例題分析:
如: the other day,as we came to??,but ??,so??.
(1)現(xiàn)在分詞作伴隨狀語:① with me sitting on the seat behind ② pointing to a policeman ??(2)make 接不定式的復合結(jié)構(gòu): ??and made us catch??(3)條件狀語從句: ??as long as we did 參考范文
1.gray hair; 2.lead a simple life; 3.be ready to help?? 4.get on well with; 5.enjoys watching/ show interest in?? 6.told me to be honest??.

The Present
The Present
It was the old lady's birthday. She got up early to be ready for the post. From the second floor flat she could see the postman when he came down the street, and the little boy from the ground floor brought up her letters on the rare occasions when anything came.Today she was sure the would be something.Myra wouldn't forget her mother's birthday, even if she seldom wrote at other times.Of course Myra was busy. Her husband had been made Mayor, and Myra herself had got a medal for her work the aged. The old lady was proud of Myra, but Enid was the daughter she loved.Enid had never married, but had seemed content to live with her mother, and teach in a primary school round the corner. One evening, however, Enid said, “I've arranged for Mrs.Morrison to look after you for a few days, Mother.Tomorrow I have to go into hospital——just a minor operation, I'll soon be home.”
In the morning she went, but never came back——she died on the operating table.Myra came to the funeral, and in her efficient way arranged for Mrs.Morrison to come in and light the fire and give the old lady her breakfast. Two years ago that was, and since then Myra had been to see her mother three times, but her husband never. The old lady was eight today. She had put on her best dress.Perhaps——perhaps Myra might come. After all, eighty was a special birthday, another decade lined or endured just as you chose to look at it.Even if Myra did not come, she would send a present. The old lady was sure of that. Two spots of colour brightened her cheeks. She was excited——like a child. She would enjoy her day.Yesterday Mrs.Morrison had given the flat an extra clean, and today she had brought a card and a bunch of marigolds when she came to do the breakfast.Mrs.Grant downstairs had made a cake, and in the afternoon she was going down there to tea.The little boy, Johnnie, had been up with a packet of mints, and said he wouldn't go out to play until the post had come.“I guess you'll get lots and lots of presents,” he said, “I did last were when I was six.”
What would she like? A pair of slippers perhaps.Or a new cardigan.A cardigan would be lovely.Blue's such a pretty colour.Jim had always liked her in blue.Or a table lamp.Or a book, a travel book, with pictures, or a little clock, with clear black numbers. So many lovely things. She stood by the window, watching. The postman turned round the corner on his bicycle. Her heart beat fast.Johnnie had seen him too and ran to the gate. Then clatter, clatter up the stairs.Johnnie knocked at her door.“Granny, granny,” he shouted, “I've got your post.”
He gave her four envelopes.Three were unsealed cards from old friends. The fourth was sealed, in Myra's writing. The old lady felt a pang of disappointment.“No parcel, Johnnie?”
“No, granny.”
Maybe the parcel was too large to come by letter post. That was it.It would come later by parcel post. She must be patient.Almost reluctantly she tore the envelope open.Folded in the card was a piece of paper.Written on the card was a message under the printed Happy Birthday —— Buy yourself something nice with the cheque, Myra and Harold. The cheque fluttered to the floor like a bird with a broken wing.Slowly the old lady stooped to pick it up.Her present, her lovely present. With trembling fingers she tore it into little bits.El Nino El Nino means “l(fā)ittle boy” in Spanish;when capitalized, it refers to the Christ child. This innocent-sounding name originated in the 19th century, when Peruvian sailors noticed that every few years around Christmastime, waters near the coasts warmed up and the current shifted southward. But this “l(fā)ittle boy” plays havoc around the globe.El Nino occurs when weather patterns in the tropical Pacific shift violently.Normally, strong westward-blowing trade winds off South America push surface water toward Asia.Just as blowing on hot coffee pushes the liquid up against the opposite side of the cup, the trade winds pile warm water against the coastlines of Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines.Above the warm water, moist air rises, lowering atmospheric pressure and triggering the tropical showers that nourish the rain forests of Asia.Meanwhile high-altitude winds travel back toward South America. There, the cooled air sinks, raising atmospheric pressure and suppressing rain along most of the Pacific coast, making it one of the driest regions in the world. But with El Nino, the pattern reverses.Atmospheric pressure in the Western Pacific rises, setting the stage for drought from Australia to India. The trade winds decrease, or in extreme years reverse to blow eastward. As a result, a huge mass of warm water flows back toward South America, causing storms from Chile to California.Meanwhile, over the Pacific, ten-mile-high storm clouds further heat the atmosphere, fueling a stronger-than-normal jet stream, which often splits in two.One branch moves north, warming the Pacific Northwest, central Canada and Alaska.Another branch surges south, producing heavy rains in the U.S.Gulf States and Southwest.El Nino's vast impact on humans has often been catastrophic. The El Nino of 1982-83 inflicted $13 billion in damage and claimed some 2,000 lives. In Australia day turned to night when a dust storm blanketed Melbourne;brush fires raged in its wake.In place of its normal monsoon, Southern India got dried-up crops and the threat of mass starvation. At the same time, violent rainstorms devastated the Western Hemisphere: Peru's fishing industry — once one of the richest in the world — was wiped out, and seaside towns were washed into the Pacific. Is there a good side to El Nino? There can be.Zebiak notes that the number of tropical hurricanes in the Atlantic is reduced during an El Nino year. One theory is that winds created by El Nino shear off the tops of Atlantic hurricanes, aborting them before they reach full force. And a team of scientists in Israel who study tree rings and satellite cloud pictures concluded that El Nino may bring precious moisture to the thirsty Middle East.A new study even shows the EI Nino deserves credit for encouraging plant growth and helping to control pollutant to global warming.Forms of Transportation People traveling long distances frequently have to decide whether they would prefer to go by land, sea, or air.Despite the fact most of people choose to travel by train or bus, the most popular forms of transport in China, I like to go by air.(點出要比較的交通工具,表明自己的選擇是飛機)Hardly anyone can positively enjoy sitting in a train for more than 10 hours.(主題句)Though the price is reasonable, I can’t bear the notorious condition that train compartments often get cramped and stuffy.Reading or talking to your seatmates are only a partial solution, for the monotonous rhythm of the wheels clicking on the rail soon lulls you to sleep.(首先討論乘火車:其優(yōu)點是廉價,但缺點是不舒服,時間長)
Long bus journeys are even less pleasant, for it is quite impossible even to read.(主題句)Though you can travel fairly safely at high speeds since highways are built, the greater part of the journey is still spent on the narrow, bumpy roads which are crowded with traffic.Like the train journey, you arrive at your destination almost exhausted.(其次討論乘長途汽車:其缺點同樣是不舒服,耗時間)
Nothing can match airplanes for speed and comfort though they have the reputation of being dangerous(in fact, the accident rate is much lower than traveling by train and bus). For a couple of hours you sit in a deep armchair to enjoy an exhilarating experience: the extraordinary sight of mountains and deep valleys bellow, of unbroken clouds with the sun shining brilliantly above. The journey is so smooth and fast that you arrive at the destination before you know where you are.(最后討論飛機,其優(yōu)點是速度快有舒服)
True, airplanes have the grave disadvantages of being the most expensive form of transport. But nothing is precious than time. Not only does the flight take you only a few hours, but you arrive fresh and uncrumpled. You won’t have to spend the next day recovering from a long and arduous journey like traveling by train and bus.(承認飛機出游的缺點是價格昂貴,但通過對時間的看法,進一步說明乘飛機的好處)Chinese Children and American Children All young children, whatever their culture, are alike in their charm and innocence — in being a clean slate on which the wonders and ways of the world are yet to be written. But during the years I study in a college near Chicago, I learned that American and Chinese children are different in several ways.(引出要比較的主題:美國小孩和中國小孩)
First, young American children tend to be active, enthusiastic and direct. They express themselves openly whatever they want to say.Chinese children, on the other hand, tend to be passive, quiet and to beat around the bush when voicing their demand. They usually wait to be asked and are lacking in initiative spirit.(美國孩子主動,直率;中國孩子被動,婉轉(zhuǎn))
Second, American children show their independence. They pride themselves on making their own decision and being responsible for it.Their Chinese counterparts, however, are still looking to their parents and grandparents to tell them what to do in terms of which school they should select and which job they should accept.(美國孩子獨立性強;中國孩子依賴性強)
Third, American children tend to more self-reliant.They are taught to believe that money is earned not given. They buy things with their own money.Every piece of housework — be it washing the dishes or mowing the lawn — has a price. But their Chinese counterparts don’t have any knowledge of earning money through housework. They take it for granted that their parents will pay for anything they fancy.(美國孩子做家務(wù)為了錢;中國孩子沒有做家務(wù)掙錢的觀念)Children who grow up in a particular culture share certain values and assumptions. It is not surprising that in a society where individualism and self-reliance are stressed, children behave more confidently and independently, while in a culture which places the value on respectfulness and moderation, children are more quiet and passive.(歸納:中美兩國孩子多方面的不同反映了兩國價值觀念的不同)
Modes of Traveling With the increased standard of living and the declining working weeks, more and more city-dwellers are taking their holidays in scenic spots and places of interest. Most of them like to join package tours as this mode of travel is said to be most convenient. But I prefer to travel individually for freedom.(傾向于自助旅游)It is true that joining a package tour can bring great convenience. You don’t have to worry about room and board during the travel, nor about your transportation. The guide will take care of everything. What you do is to follow the guide and enjoy the scenery. But you lose your freedom for this.At the sight of his/her flag waving, you have to take yourself away from the scenes you are marveling at and follow the guide whose sole interest is to cover all spots according to his schedule, regardless of the weather or your health condition.(先肯定旅行社優(yōu)點,馬上分析其缺點)
Individual travel, however, gives you a great degree of freedom. In climbing mountains, you can choose to drive up in cable cars, or take pleasure in the process of climbing. You can decide when to start your way, where to linger a little longer and which spot to be skipped over to save time for another spot. You can always adjust your plan.(轉(zhuǎn)到自助旅游,詳細闡述其優(yōu)點)
Traveling alone, you may encounter inconvenience such as getting accommodation for the night and a place for meals. But you can choose the hotel and restaurant to your liking, and avoid the embarrassment of being forced to share a table or a room with a stranger.(用一句話承認自助旅游有食 宿困難,但在這一點上繼續(xù)分析其優(yōu)點)
To have a holiday tour is to enjoy and relax yourself, and to relax thoroughly, freedom is of essence. If you lose the freedom of action, it is no longer a holiday in anything but name. For this reason I like traveling alone with several friends.(歸納自助旅游優(yōu)點,結(jié)論)
Studying Abroad With the improved living standard and China more open to the world, more and more young people choose to pursue their higher education in foreign countries, such as America, Britain or Australia.Generally speaking, the advantages of studying overseas outweigh its disadvantages.(利弊兼具,作者并無明顯的贊成或反對態(tài)度)The main benefit of studying abroad is academic one.Obviously in western colleges and universities, the laboratories are more sophisticated, and book resources more up-to-date.More importantly, they have first-rate professors who are aware of all the latest developments in their respective fields.Hence the standard of teaching is much higher.Besides academic benefits, there are other advantages. For example, exposure to foreign culture and contact with students from different countries and different backgrounds will broaden their mind and make them more tolerant.Living alone in the foreign land will also offer greater opportunity to develop their independence, their personalities and many other interpersonal skills.Despite these obvious advantages, we should not overlook negative effects. For example, the overseas students may experience loneliness and homesickness, an experience so overwhelming that many could not endure it.Though overseas study has its drawbacks, the advantages are obvious.Provided that it is financially feasible, an oversea education may do a person more good than harm.(謹慎的肯定態(tài)度)Will Phones Kill Letter Writing?
According to a recent survey made by the China Daily, about 200 million Chinese are using phones as their daily communications means instead of writing letters. So some people say that phones will kill letter writing. But I don’t think so.My argument that phones will not kill letter writing lies in at least three aspects.First, letter writing as a traditional way of communication still has some advantages over phones. For example, if people want to express something confidential to their close friends, they will turn to letter writing.Another example is that rural workers who are working far away from their hometown are more likely to write letters to their families than to make phone calls for the purpose of saving money.Second, letter writing is more authoritative and formal in some way.For instance, people who are doing business will write formal business letters to do a deal;people who want to recommend or introduce someone to someone else will write letter of recommendation or letter of introduction, etc.Last but not least, letter writing is still regarded as a token of friendship among friends.People always write letters to show their everlasting love and affection. All in all, letter writing is still very popular among people. It is still a good way for people to communicate with each other and it is impossible to be killed by phones.Easy Ways to Avoid an Argument
It's natural to take offense if someone is rude. You may think, what a jerk! But blurting out how you feel will only make matters worse.Dealing with difficult people is a part of everyday life, and there are ways you can stand up for yourself without starting an argument.I call these techniques “ Tongue Fu!” Handle arguments with humor. All of us tend to lose our temper. If you find yourself in a difficult situation, try having fun with it.As an IRS worker explained to me, “ Almost everyone who comes in here is hostile.Instead of taking offense, we've posted bulletin boards with comic strips that poke fun at the IRS, which we jokingly call the Income Removal Service. When taxpayers see these, their attitudes change for the better.” When people complain, don't explain. The phone rings at work. You pick up and the caller launches into a complaint: “I asked for a catalogue three weeks ago and I still don't have it!What kind of business are you running, anyway?” Don't bother explaining that half the staff is out with the flu.Well-intentioned though they may be, such explanations usually add to the complainer's anger because they come across as excuses.Avoid explaining in detail what went wrong.Instead, agree, apologize and then move on to what can be done about it.Simply say: “You're right.I'm sorry you haven't received it yet.If I can have your name and address again, I'll personally put it in the mail to you today.” Agree to disagree.A man I know said he and his wife went to her parents' house for dinner one night.“While we were eating,” he recalled, “I mentioned that the highway construction was stalled again. My father-in-law said he was glad.'That highway never should've been built! It's destroying an important historical valley.' ”Well, I spend over an hour each way commuting to work.I told him I thought the highway was a necessary evil because there are four times as many cars as there were ten years ago, on the same number of road.My wife's dad grumbled that it was typical of my selfish generation to think more about our commuting time than a significant archeological site.“I lost my patience and said, 'You can't stop progress.' That did it.My father-in-law stood up and walked away, saying, 'I don't have to sit here and listen to this at my own dinner table.' ”I wish the whole thing had never happened. If I had been alert to his feelings about the matter, I could have prevented the whole unfortunate incident by saying, 'Let's agree to disagree about this,' and politely directing the conversation to something else.“ One effective way to avoid an argument is to say, ”We're both right!“ and move on to a safer topic. For example, you and your wife disagree about how to discipline your teenager, and your discussion is turning into an argument.Just because you aren't seeing eye to eye doesn't mean you're enemies.Saying ”Hey, we both want the same thing" can get you out of the quarrelsome mode and get you working together again. No matter what the situation, augments are a waste or, at best, a misuse of time.By avoiding meaningless arguments, everybody wins.
