第一篇:大學(xué)英語口語小組討論--if we should idoli概要
大學(xué)英語口語小組討論-----if we should idolize pop stars-----Part 1 Dialogue Firstly, let's listen to a dialogue between two friends.A: you’ re a big fan of Jay Chou, aren’ t you?
B: yes, I’ ve been got all his albums and most of his films on dvd.I adore him.He’ s my idol.A: how come you don’ t have all of his films on dvd?
B: some of his early films are hard to find nowadays, especially the ones where he only played a bit part.A: I see.I’ m sure you’ ll find them one day.I see you also have several poster of him.B: yeah. These posters are new.I bought them last week and put them up on my bedroom walls yesterday.A: are you a member of his fan club? B: I was, but then I discovered you can find out everything for free on the internet, so I’ m not a member now.A: did you see the interview with a Jay Chou in cosmopolitan magazine last month? B: of course!I bought two copies.A: two copies? One is to keep and the other to cut the pictures out of, right?
B: yes.Part 2 Discussion After listening to the dialogue, let ’ s talk about if we should idolize pop stars.C: in my viewpoint, taking pop stars as idols is acceptable. Most pop stars can be role models for people. For example, sports stars accept the admiration that goes with their sporting excellence.A lot of kids look at the great athletes as idols and try to emulate them. They learn what makes a good athlete. It takes determination, discipline, sacrifice, hard work, as well as respect for opponents. These are the qualities that ensure success in any field.D: Yeah, I agree with you.And movie stars can also do the same.Idol fans love them not only because of their exterior beauty, but also because of the deeper, inner beauty of confidence, passion and kindness. And, moreover, some idol’ s rough roads to success can put the fans in mind of the ceaseless efforts needed in pursuing their dreams.A: To some extent, what you said is reasonable. But I still think taking pop stars as idols is unacceptable.Idolizing pop stars often distracts students ’ attention and interferes with their
studies. In addition, being a pop star looks great on the outside, but the outside isn’ t always the whole picture.B: yeah, and to make matters worse, fans waste a considerable
amount of valuable time because they often go out of their way to court the excitement of meeting their “ beloved ” face to face.C: In a word, we can't go blind worshipping a person, he must have the quality we need to learn and respect.D: So we must learn their worth learning.
