Morning，ladies and gentlemen.早上好，女士們先生們。

Last summer，I volunteered to work as an English teacher in a primary school for children of migrant workers.去年夏天，我自愿在一所外地農(nóng)民工子弟小學當起了一名英語老師。

To be accurate，I didn’t volunteer.I was dragged in，literally.確切地說，我并不是自告奮勇主動參加的。

When my friends first hit upon the ides of this project，I was all against it：

我其實是被拽著參加的。當我的朋友首次提出這個計劃時，我是完全反對的：

“What? To spend my vacation standing in the heat，“什么？讓我整個假期，冒著酷暑，Yelling at a bunch of nine-year-olds who couldn’t even speak proper Mandarin Chinese? 對著一幫9歲大的小孩大聲嚷嚷，他們甚至連普通話都不標準。

And besides, there’s no pay for my toil.No, I am definitely not going.” But my friends twisted my arms to have me join them.而且，我的辛苦工作是無償服務(wù)。不，我絕對不會去的?！钡窃谂笥褌兊膱猿窒?，我還是去了。

Unexpectedly, the first lesson I taught turned out a lesson for me.出乎意料的是，我教的第一堂課卻變成了我的一課。

The moment I stepped into the shabby classroom, I was touched by the loud, respectful voices in unison:

當我踏進那間破舊的教室，我被一陣充滿敬意、整齊的喊聲深深打動了。

“Good morning, teacher!” Instead of fooling around,“老師，早上好！”這些孩子們沒有四處打鬧，The children were thirsty for knowledge and efficient in absorbing everything I was able to give them.對知識如饑似渴的他們有效地吸收我教給他們的所有知識。

This made me despise myself for I hadn’t even prepared for the class

這讓我鄙視自己，因為我事先根本沒有備課。

During the break, I leaned over the squeaky desk, chatting with a sweaty boy in the front row: 課間休息時，我靠在一張吱吱作響的桌子旁，與前排一位滿身大汗的男孩聊起天來： “Without air-conditioning, it’s really hot here.Are you tired?”

“這里沒有空調(diào)，實在太熱了，你感到累嗎？”

“Not at all,” said he, shaking his head.“It’s fine here.My Dad builds asphalt roads.That is really tiring and hot.”

“一點都不，”他搖搖頭說，“這里很好。我爸爸在修瀝青公路，那才真正又熱又累人?！?As summer advanced, my enthusiasm as a teacher grew.隨著夏天的推移，我作為一名老師的熱情在上漲。

I prepared my lesson carefully and even used some methods my teachers used.我認真地備課，甚至采用了一些我老師曾經(jīng)用過的教學方法。

I organized many group activities to give the kids fun.Strangely enough, the heat was also becoming less and less unbearable.我組織了許多小組活動讓孩子們玩得很開心。奇怪的是，這酷暑熱浪也逐漸讓人能忍受了。Soon, my one-month volunteer work came to an end.不久，我為期一個月的志愿活動已經(jīng)接近尾聲。

When I was leaving my last class, I turned back and saw smiling faces and waving hands.當我結(jié)束最后一課時，我轉(zhuǎn)過身，看到那張張笑臉和許多雙揮動的手。

Never before had I ever had such a feeling of sadness, which was, nevertheless, mixed with a sense of enrichment,我從未感到如此傷心，但是這種感覺卻夾雜著充實。

fulfillment and happiness.I was paid for my work, amply paid, not in terms of money, but something more valuable.滿足和幸福。我的工作得到了回報，而且獲益很大。這種報償不是用金錢來衡量的，而是其它一些更加珍貴的東西。

My English was improved.I was able to teach it, although not very professional.I learned about the grassroots-level society.我的英語水平得到了提高，雖然不是很專業(yè)，但我可以勝任這份教學工作了。我了解到了基層社會。

Inside myself a heart is growing, a heart that not only beats for myself, but cares for others as well.我的內(nèi)心激情澎湃，這不單單是對自己的鞭策，也是在關(guān)心著其他人。

The volunteer work gave me a precious little chance to say thanks to people like the little boy’s father,這份志愿工作給了我一次難得的機會向諸如那位小男孩的父親一樣的人們表達謝意。

Who construct highways and under grounds, build up modern skyscrapers, and make our cities more and more beautiful.他們修建高速公司和地鐵、建設(shè)現(xiàn)代摩天大樓，讓我們的城市越來越漂亮。

To help the children with their English was all I could do, at present, to show my gratitude to these unsung heroes.而要表達我對這些無名英雄的感激之情，我目前辦所能及的事情只是給他們小孩教英語。The world may not have been fair to them,這個社會對他們可能不太公平。

So privileged and blessed people like me are obliged to do whatever we can to help make their life better.所以我們這些幸運和幸福的人有義務(wù)盡我們所能，讓他們生活得更好一些。

What I ever [whatever] I do for them, however,然而，我所做的事情微不足道

I know it cannot be compared with what they have done to improve the quality of life in our cities.我知道，比起他們?yōu)樘岣呶覀兊某鞘猩钯|(zhì)量所做的貢獻。

Ladies and gentlemen, now I realize that volunteering shouldn’t be a one-time personal experience.女士們先生們，現(xiàn)在我意識到志愿活動不應(yīng)是一次個人經(jīng)歷。

It should be a lifetime activity of everybody.這應(yīng)該成為每個人的一種終生行為。

Many of us are now offering assistance to the needy and to each other, and our efforts have indeed made a difference.現(xiàn)在我們中的很多人都在為彼此和那些需要幫助的人提供援助，我們這些努力確實是能改變

現(xiàn)狀。

Whether we are helping children with their schooling, or caring for the elderly in nursing homes, 不管我們是在教育方面幫助孩子們，還是在敬老院照顧老人們，And helping out in 2008 Beijing Olympics,或者是參加2008年北京奧運會的志愿活動，We will not only contribute to the harmony of the world but elevate ourselves as well.這些都不只是為社會的和諧貢獻自己的力量，同時也是在提升自己的道德修養(yǎng)。

Emerson once said, “It’s one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that nomad can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.” He was right

愛默生曾說：“此生最美好的一種報償就是，任何對別人的真誠幫助必然也是對自己的幫助?！彼f的對。

I hear that my university is going to organize another voluntary teaching program this summer.我聽說學位今年夏天將組織另一次義務(wù)教學活動。

This time I won’t be dragged in.I will volunteer.這一次我不會再被拽著參加了，我會自告奮勇。

Euthanasia is a way of relieving ill-people’s pain and saving them from the tortures of their illness.安樂死是一種解除病人痛苦，從疾病的折磨中拯救他們的方法。

Do we have the right to take people’s lives for this reason?

那我們有權(quán)利因為這個原因剝奪他們的生命嗎？

Or should the right to die be considered a “right” for terminally ill patients?

或者對于患了不治之癥的病人而言，死亡的權(quán)利能算是一種權(quán)利嗎？

And, if thou wilt, forget.”

假如你不愿意，就把我忘卻?！?/p>

For many, death is not frightening.For many, death is beautiful.對于很多人而言，死亡并不恐怖，對于很多人而言，死亡是美好的。

For many, suffering from incurable deadly diseases, death is a longing.對于很多遭受不治之癥折磨的人而言，死亡是一種渴望。

But no matter what they think, we can’t make the decision for them.Death is their own business.但無論他們想什么，我們都不能替他們做這個決定，死亡是他們自己的事情。

Whether for good intention or bad, if we decide to take another person’s life it’s murder.不管是出于好心與否，如果我們決定奪去別人的生命，這種行為就是謀殺。

We take it for granted that people suffering from long terminal diseases, want to die.我們理所當然地認為那些長期遭受不治之癥折磨的人們想結(jié)束自己的生命。

Perhaps it might be so, in some cases, but how are we to tell? We can’t make the decision for others.可能某些情況下，事實是這樣的，但我們怎樣去判斷呢？我們不能為其他人做這樣的決定。Many old people, suffering from Alzheimer’s, seem to be living a most pitiable life to us.在我們看來，許多患有老年癡呆癥的老人似乎在過著一種最悲慘的生活。

They no longer even recognize the beloved ones around them.他們甚至認不出身邊愛著他們的人。

But perhaps they’re enjoying their life, because they are now cut off from any worldly affairs and problems.但是他們可能也在享受他們的生活，因為現(xiàn)在他們與所有凡人俗事和問題完全隔絕。

They are kind of reliving their childhood.They are, perhaps, enjoying it.We can’t terminate their life.他們重溫他們的童年，他們可能很享受這樣的生活，因此，我們不能結(jié)束他們的生命。Some people, suffering from cancer, seem to be living most painful life to us,在我們看來，一些備受癌癥折磨的人似乎過著最痛苦的生活。

What with all these torturing treatments and the prospect of death in front of them.因為擺在他們面前的是折磨人的治療和死亡的命運。

But, perhaps, deep down in their heart, they want to go on, they want to live, they want to fight, 但是也許他們內(nèi)心深處還想繼續(xù)走下去，繼續(xù)活下來。他們想和病魔抗爭，They want to feel every bit of sunshine on earth, and hear the pitter-patter of rain in spring.他們想沐浴地球上每一縷陽光，聆聽春天里劈劈啪啪的雨滴聲。

Some people, vegetable people, can’t express themselves, and to us they are not even living a life.一些人，還有一些植物人，他們無法表達自己的想法。這在我們看來，他們簡直就不是在生活。

But how are we to know that they want to die? Perhaps, deep down in their heart, they want to struggle,但是我們怎么知道他們想死呢？可能在他們的內(nèi)心，他們想抗爭，They want to see life conquering death.And, besides, miracles do happen now and then.他們想見證生命戰(zhàn)勝死亡。更何況，奇跡總是不時的發(fā)生。

There are cases that, when a vegetable person is wakened from his long slumber by love and caring.例如，通過精心照顧，愛的力量會讓一位植物人從長期的沉睡中蘇醒過來。

If we rob him of that chance, we are committing murder.We are extinguishing hope.如果我們不給他機會，那我們就是在謀殺。我們就是在扼殺希望。

If we make the right to take another person’s life away illegal, I shudder to think what the consequences will be.如果我們擁有非法奪取別人生命的權(quán)利，我不敢想象后果是怎樣的。

Perhaps some family, tired of taking care of an old person, might get rid of him for that reason.可能一些厭煩了照顧一位老人的家庭會以這個原因而放棄老人。

Perhaps a family full of daughters, sons, granddaughters, grandsons, gaping at the inheritance, will want to get rid of the old person for that reason.I really shudder to think the consequences

可能一個兒孫滿堂的家庭會因為對遺產(chǎn)虎視眈眈而想要放棄這位老人，我真的很害怕去想由此產(chǎn)生的后果。

No!If I want to die, it’s my own business.No one is going to take that decision for me.不！如果我想結(jié)束生命，這是我自己的事情，沒有人能為我做這個決定。

Yes, death might be a beautiful journey after the experience we have on earth,的確！可能當我們有了在這個塵世的各種經(jīng)歷后，死亡是一個美麗的旅程。

But I don’t want to be hurried onto that journey by anybody else.但我不想被任何一個人驅(qū)趕到這個旅程。

If I am determined, my life is terminated by another person, I will rise from my grave and haunt that person,如果我自己決定活下去，而我的生命斷送于他人之手，我會從墳?zāi)怪信莱鰜恚m纏困擾這個人，“?and he will always feel the shadows, he will always feel the rain, and he will always hear the nightingale weep on, as if in pain.”

奉獻愛心 收獲幸福

敬愛的老師，親愛的同學們！

大家好！今天我演講的題目是《奉獻愛心 收獲幸?！?/p>

愛是世界上最純潔，也是最溫暖的。愛是無限的。愛是不朽的。每個人都擁有愛，每個人也會在愛的關(guān)懷下成長。親情、友情也會給我們帶來無限的快樂和歡笑，這就是幸福。

在生活中，有時候家長會批評我們，這其實是對我們的愛。家長是為了我們好。因為我們是家長的掌上明珠。我們好比一棵小樹，需要經(jīng)過剪枝，澆水，施肥才能茁壯成長。

課堂上，老師時常教育我們，要去關(guān)心別人，關(guān)心別人就等于關(guān)心自己。因為愛是連接人與人之間的紐帶，只有把愛處處撒播，生活才會變的更美好。

愛也是完美的，它給了我們很大的勇氣，它讓我們充滿信心在人生的道路上暢通無阻。

愛，藏在世界的每個角落，就看你有沒有去發(fā)現(xiàn)它，有沒有把它找出來給予別人。人人都需要愛，讓世界都充滿愛吧！

世間的“愛”是永恒的，是不變的，是永存于世的.所有的驚人舉動，都有愛的力量，都是愛創(chuàng)造出來的，沒有愛，就沒有一切。一個人心里有別人，總能設(shè)身處地地為他人著想，并有愛的奉獻，那么得到的將是內(nèi)心的充實，高尚的人格，愛心的照耀。甘愿為他人付出真情和愛的人，一定會收獲幸福。

奉獻愛心

收獲感動

——合肥三中 福利院溫暖行

2013年6月3日下午14時30分，合肥三中校團委的老師領(lǐng)導兩位學生代表聯(lián)合學校民盟在合肥市社會福利院開展了“關(guān)愛兒童送溫暖”活動。合肥社會福利院是合肥市孤兒的救濟中心。來到福利院的綜合大樓一樓，便可以看到孩子們的彩筆畫，亮麗的顏色給福利院帶來一絲陽光的氣息。帶著送給孩子們的玩具食品來到五樓。據(jù)福利院的老師說，福利院的孩子年齡都在三到八歲左右，大多都是有先天性疾病而被父母送到這里來的。陪著孩子們一起分享食物，一起玩游戲，整個福利院都充滿著歡聲笑語。

孤兒的生活學習問題一直是社會所關(guān)注的焦點，那些留在福利院的孩子們看起來和其他人沒什么區(qū)別，但他們的心里總會有一處缺口，需要周圍有愛心的人用溫暖彌補。讓我們行動起來，將愛與幸福傳播，讓社會充滿陽光！

幸福的含義是很寬泛的，而作為教師，我以為我們更比別人幸福的多。因為我們還有另外的收獲，那就是：與學生相互關(guān)愛的幸福。提到愛，我們常說：我們要給學生愛，用愛去感染每個學生。真的，因為有愛，我們的學生即使不完美，他也可愛，即使不聰明，他也純潔。因此，我們就會在愛的氛圍中感動，走出我們?nèi)松毺氐乃{天。事實讓我明白，這，確實是一個真理。

假如我問：你因為被愛而幸福過嗎？可能有人會笑：誰沒有??！可如果你不是老師，我可以說，你的幸福的含義就不完整。工作累了，生活有波折了，家人來電話，朋友來短信，如果不是做老師，這也許就是全部。可教師這份職業(yè)，卻會讓我們獲得額外的關(guān)愛。

靜下心來的時候，我們更明白，其實，我們平時的所作所為更多的是來自一種良心。有人說，教師的職業(yè)就是一種良心的職業(yè)。是的，只有我們真正做教師的人才能體會到，教師的工作不能用簡單的時間和量來衡量，學生占據(jù)你的不只是時間，還有你的思想和靈魂。只有做了教師我們才可以體會到什么是魂牽夢繞，想必大家都有這樣的體會：多少次半夜醒來，夢境中全是學生??因為我們更清楚：你面對不只是一名學生，而是他的整個家庭，他的家庭背景，他的成長環(huán)境，你要操心的不只是他們的學習，還有他們的精神。

于是，我們就在這樣一種平凡與平淡中用自己的良心去付出，就這樣實實在在，默默無聞，不求索取。少有驚天動地之舉，每天只從繁雜瑣碎的工作中理出自己明確的思路；少有哀婉動聽的故事，只需看校園里垂楊柳一綠再綠的新意；少有沸騰的飛躍，只是歲歲年年、朝朝暮暮與學生的風雨共度，??。但這，有誰說不是一種更高尚的奉獻呢？沒有奉獻，何來愛的回報？就是這種平靜的奉獻，這種源自良心的付出讓我們活得更充實，更幸福了！

我們總會向往輝煌燦爛的明天，但明天是由每一個今天壘成，有向往有行動有堅持，方會使剎那變成永恒，使夢想變成現(xiàn)實。我還要說，明天的輝煌還要有今天的默默無語，相互關(guān)愛做基礎(chǔ)。就因為這個，我們便在默默中從青年走過中年，走近老年！昨夜微霜初渡河，今晨秋風凋青發(fā)。這個過程中，我們不是做得很好嗎？不以物喜，不以己悲，時刻牢記那間教室里放飛的是希望，守巢的是自己；那塊黑板寫下的是真理，擦去的是功利；那根粉筆畫出的是彩虹，流下的是淚滴，奉獻的是自己，在這種充實中完善自我，在寧靜中儲積生命的動力，奉獻愛心，去收獲一種人生額外的幸福！人們常說，教師是蠟燭，照亮別人；我們更承認，教師更象火炬，熊熊燃燒中有學生給予的光焰，當我們辛勤的工作日見成效，當我們發(fā)現(xiàn)孩子們一個小小的進步時，無不為之欣慰舒心，這樣巨大的幸福感難道還不夠嗎？還是魏書生說得好：把自己平凡的工作當作宏偉的世界去研究，你就會發(fā)現(xiàn)無窮的樂趣。

我不是詩人，能夠用詩的語言描繪師生關(guān)系的微妙，我也不是畫家，能夠潑墨丹青，全神地勾勒師生相處時的容貌，我更不是個作家，能夠以華麗的詞藻形容師生相互關(guān)愛的一夕一朝，但我可以說，只要有一顆至真至誠的心，就可以把我們的工作做的問心無愧。有一句話非常中聽：工作著的人是美麗的，工作著的女人尤其美麗。我要說，工作者的教師不僅是美麗的，更富有魅力。因為雖然我們平凡，我們卻用平凡來鑄就輝煌，雖然我們清貧，我們卻用清貧造就富有。由此，我們就在無言中附麗了一種別樣的魅力。印度大詩人泰戈爾說過：“花的事業(yè)是甜蜜的，果的事業(yè)是珍貴的，讓我干葉的事業(yè)吧，因為葉總是謙遜地垂著她的綠蔭的。”在我看來，這綠蔭的付出卻能夠收獲額外的幸福，我還說，這不是任何別的職業(yè)可以輕易擁有的。

老師們，同事們，為我們自己能夠有幸從事這份光榮的工作，能夠有為別人默默付出的機會，能夠在不經(jīng)意中收獲幸福而滿足和自豪吧！
