英語報(bào)刊選讀教學(xué)大綱
一、教學(xué)對(duì)象
本課程的教學(xué)對(duì)象是開放教育英語專業(yè)??频膶W(xué)員。
二、課程性質(zhì)、目的和要求
本課程為英語專業(yè)??频倪x修課,開設(shè)時(shí)間為第五學(xué)期。本課程的教學(xué)目的是培養(yǎng)學(xué)生閱讀英語報(bào)刊的基本功。學(xué)生通過有目的、較系統(tǒng)地閱讀國內(nèi)外英語報(bào)刊文章,逐漸掌握閱讀英語報(bào)刊時(shí)必備的背景知識(shí),了解一些主要英美報(bào)刊的歷史、特點(diǎn)、政治立場和觀點(diǎn)等,同時(shí)對(duì)英語報(bào)刊常見的版面結(jié)構(gòu)和編排方法等有所了解,掌握?qǐng)?bào)刊英語的特點(diǎn),擴(kuò)大有關(guān)政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、軍事、法律等方面的詞匯,豐富自己的知識(shí),從而為獨(dú)立閱讀各種英語報(bào)刊打下良好的基礎(chǔ)。通過該課程的學(xué)習(xí),拓寬學(xué)生的文化視野,提高理解和分析問題的能力,培養(yǎng)對(duì)信息的敏感性及發(fā)掘、利用信息的能力。
三、教學(xué)內(nèi)容、要點(diǎn)與課時(shí)安排
本課程采用的文字教材為《美英報(bào)刊文章閱讀》(精選本)和與其配套的《學(xué)習(xí)指導(dǎo)》(周學(xué)藝編著,北京大學(xué)出版社出版)。該教材由9個(gè)單元、29課書組成。文章涉及政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、環(huán)境保護(hù)、道德、宗教、戰(zhàn)爭、犯罪、科技、教育、文化、體育、藝術(shù)等各個(gè)領(lǐng)域。同時(shí)介紹新聞的一些基本特點(diǎn)和要素,幫助學(xué)生了解一些重要報(bào)刊的編排及背景、立場、發(fā)行量和影響力等情況。此外,通過英語報(bào)刊文章的閱讀讓學(xué)生有機(jī)會(huì)接觸一些較新的觀點(diǎn)和理論,并學(xué)會(huì)用批判的眼光分析這些觀點(diǎn),培養(yǎng)正確的是非觀念。
本課程開設(shè)一學(xué)期,課內(nèi)學(xué)時(shí)72,4學(xué)分,周學(xué)時(shí)4。
四、教學(xué)方法建議
本課程可介于精讀和泛讀之間進(jìn)行講授,以幫助學(xué)生理解和掌握課文內(nèi)容為主,講課時(shí)可交替使用英語和漢語。精讀的目的是為了幫助學(xué)生去泛讀未規(guī)定的教學(xué)內(nèi)容。另外,要注重向?qū)W生介紹所涉及到的美英報(bào)刊的特點(diǎn)、報(bào)刊英語的風(fēng)格等背景知識(shí),以增加學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)的趣味和積極性。
五、測試
本課程的測試以筆試為主,題型主要采用回答問題和譯述的形式。結(jié)合學(xué)生平時(shí)課堂表現(xiàn)及課后作業(yè)完成情況進(jìn)行綜合評(píng)定。
六、成績?cè)u(píng)定
學(xué)生的綜合成績由形成性考核與終結(jié)性考核組成。形成性考核要求:學(xué)生必須完成平時(shí)作業(yè),并積極參與課堂討論、網(wǎng)上答疑、書面作業(yè)等環(huán)節(jié)。
形成性考核所占比例為30%,終結(jié)性考核所占比例為70%。

1.總論:
《報(bào)刊選讀》是一門綜合性課程,教學(xué)對(duì)象為全日制本科英語專業(yè)四年級(jí)學(xué)生,總學(xué)時(shí)36,在四年級(jí)上學(xué)期開設(shè)。
2.教學(xué)目的:
本課程的目的是讓學(xué)生通過閱讀最新的外國報(bào)刊雜志的各類文章或報(bào)道,了解當(dāng)今世界在各個(gè)領(lǐng)域的形勢與發(fā)展,學(xué)習(xí)新聞報(bào)道的文體與風(fēng)格,分析各種觀點(diǎn)與事實(shí),擴(kuò)大他們的知識(shí)視野,提高他們分析判斷問題的能力,提高他們的英語閱讀、寫作和演講辯論水平。
3.教材:
本課程選用的文章覆蓋國際政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、文化和科技等領(lǐng)域,所選文章具代表性,不僅充分反映各種不同觀點(diǎn)與看法,同時(shí)也能體現(xiàn)當(dāng)代新聞報(bào)道的文體與風(fēng)格。
4.教學(xué)進(jìn)度:
本課程設(shè)計(jì)為每周閱讀一篇文章,具體安排如下:
第一周:概論:課程目的,學(xué)習(xí)內(nèi)容,學(xué)習(xí)方式,考核方式。
第二至第六周:國際政治專題。(第五周,國慶放假調(diào)課或休息)
第七至第九周:國際經(jīng)濟(jì)專題。
第十至第十一周:科學(xué)技術(shù)專題。
第十二至第十三周:社會(huì)文化專題。
第十四至第十五周:教育專題。
第十六至第十七周:環(huán)境保護(hù)專題。
第十八周:總復(fù)習(xí)。
第十九或二十周:考試。
5.授課方式:
本課程的授課方式分為課堂講授、小組討論、演講與辯論三種形式。課堂講授主要是為學(xué)生提供相關(guān)知識(shí),例如軍事、外交、宏微觀經(jīng)濟(jì)、管理、貿(mào)易、金融、文化藝術(shù)和科技方面的背景知識(shí),以方便學(xué)生理解文章內(nèi)容;小組討論主要是探討文章中的各種觀點(diǎn),判斷謬誤,認(rèn)識(shí)事實(shí);演講與辯論是針對(duì)具體事件,提出自己的見解與觀點(diǎn),并就自己的觀點(diǎn)與他人辯論。
6.考核方式:
本課程考核方式為:演講與辯論(20%);評(píng)論性寫作與新聞報(bào)道(20%);期終考試(60%)??荚嚪绞綖殚]卷,題型分客觀題與主觀題,客觀題主要考核閱讀理解,主觀題主要考核分析和判斷問題的能力??荚嚂r(shí)間為80分鐘。

《英語短篇小說選讀》教學(xué)大綱

二 總結(jié)與反思
1.收獲:英美報(bào)刊文章有著與中文表達(dá)不同風(fēng)格。英美報(bào)刊文章有著自己的詞匯、語法結(jié)構(gòu)和修辭特點(diǎn),各類報(bào)刊的風(fēng)格也不盡相同,各自有各自獨(dú)特的特點(diǎn)。通過對(duì)報(bào)刊選讀的學(xué)習(xí),從報(bào)刊的分類、文章的修辭手法以及對(duì)報(bào)刊的翻譯方法等發(fā)面的學(xué)習(xí),學(xué)生不僅提高了對(duì)英語報(bào)刊內(nèi)容的閱讀速度,還能較快速的找到文章的重點(diǎn),快速掌握了文章中心思想和主要內(nèi)容的能力。另一方面,閱讀英語報(bào)刊是提升英語閱讀水平的最好方法,通過學(xué)習(xí),學(xué)生不僅感覺英語閱讀能力有明顯的提高還擴(kuò)大了學(xué)生的知識(shí)面,增加了對(duì)世界文化的了解,尤其是加深了對(duì)英語國國家的文化及社會(huì)現(xiàn)狀的了解。2.問題:
a.由于對(duì)歐美報(bào)刊分類以及報(bào)刊之間的聯(lián)系缺乏了解,不認(rèn)識(shí)歐美的諸多著名報(bào)刊。
b.對(duì)報(bào)刊文章里面的某些語言和背景知識(shí)不理解,所以很難理解文章想要表達(dá)的內(nèi)容。
3.原因:
1)缺乏對(duì)歐美文化、歷史、政治、軍事等方面的了解,遇到某些專有名詞或含有意義的詞語不能充分體會(huì)。
2)歐美報(bào)刊文章與國內(nèi)報(bào)刊文章差別較大,易受國內(nèi)報(bào)刊文章風(fēng)格,寫作手法影響以及誤導(dǎo)。
3)歐美報(bào)刊風(fēng)格多樣化,對(duì)歐美報(bào)刊文章閱讀量太少。
4)學(xué)時(shí)太短,課上學(xué)的東西太少,課后沒有能及時(shí)的復(fù)習(xí)以及展開擴(kuò)展學(xué)習(xí)。
4.解決辦法:
(一)多復(fù)習(xí)以及鞏固歐美報(bào)刊文章分類、修辭手法、語法等知識(shí)。
(二)加強(qiáng)對(duì)歐美文化、歷史等方面的學(xué)習(xí)以及了解。
(三)多閱讀歐美報(bào)刊文章。有不會(huì)的標(biāo)記與老師同學(xué)多討論學(xué)習(xí)。
