This year’s World Population Day falls during a milestone year, when we anticipate the birth of the earth’s seven billionth inhabitant.This is an opportunity to celebrate our common humanity and our

Today marks the first observance of World Statistics Day, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly to recognize the importance of statistics in shaping our societies.我們?cè)诮裉焓状渭o(jì)念世界統(tǒng)計(jì)日，聯(lián)合國大會(huì)宣布這個(gè)紀(jì)念日，是為了確認(rèn)統(tǒng)計(jì)對(duì)社會(huì)的重要影響。

I am delighted that the UN World Tourism Organization is celebrating this year‘s World Tourism Day under the theme ?Tourism and Biodiversity‘.Despite repeated global pledges to protect the planet‘s species and habitats – and the goods and services they provide – the variety of life on Earth continues to decline at an unprecedented rate.Human activities are the cause.This year – the International Year of Biodiversity – provides a timely
