Reset generation（重啟一代）指遇到復(fù)雜、難處理的情況時(shí)就選擇離開那里，重新開始的年輕人。

Clotheshorse原本指用來(lái)晾曬衣服的晾衣架；現(xiàn)在多喻指愛(ài)時(shí)髦，喜歡買很多衣服的人，可譯為“活衣架”。

Gangnam Style（江南風(fēng)格，更廣為人知的說(shuō)法為“江南style”）是一個(gè)韓語(yǔ)新詞，多用來(lái)形容首爾江南區(qū)走在時(shí)尚前沿、過(guò)著奢華生活的“弄潮兒”們。江南區(qū)被認(rèn)為是首爾市內(nèi)最有錢的區(qū)域。Gangnam Style相當(dāng)于英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)中的swag（拽）或yolo（you only live once，意為“人生只有一次”）

在社會(huì)心理學(xué)中，群體極化（group polarization）指群體所作的決定一般都比其成員最初的意向更加極端。如果個(gè)人最初的意向是要冒險(xiǎn)的話，那么群體的決定會(huì)更加冒險(xiǎn)；而如果個(gè)人最初的想法趨于謹(jǐn)慎的話，那么群體的決策會(huì)更加謹(jǐn)慎。這種現(xiàn)象也說(shuō)明群體態(tài)度的變化趨勢(shì)是個(gè)人最初態(tài)度經(jīng)過(guò)集體討論后被強(qiáng)化的表現(xiàn)。

紅帶文件 只要有官僚機(jī)構(gòu)的地方，肯定就有走不完的辦事程序。先提交申請(qǐng)表，然后準(zhǔn)備各類材料，到不同的機(jī)構(gòu)蓋章，最后才有可能辦成你想辦的事。這樣的官僚行政程序在英語(yǔ)里叫red tape。據(jù)說(shuō)是16世紀(jì)初西班牙國(guó)王查理五世用紅帶子裝訂需要拿到國(guó)家議會(huì)討論的重要文檔，之后紅帶文件慢慢演變成代表政府機(jī)構(gòu)規(guī)定和章程。

我們管“上有老，下有小”的中年一代叫做“三明治一代（sandwich generation）”，生動(dòng)地描述了他們被夾在中間的困境。如今，隨著人類壽命延長(zhǎng)，不少五十多歲的人家里除了要照看孩子和孫子，還有年邁的父母需要照顧，壓力比“三明治一代”還要大，因此被稱為“多層三明治”（club-sandwich）。

水管壞了，自己修；燈泡壞了，自己換，想給沙發(fā)換個(gè)地方，也是自己動(dòng)手。這就是強(qiáng)大的do-it-herselfer（自己動(dòng)手女），也叫handywoman。

Long-distance relationship(LDR)指雙方相隔距離遙遠(yuǎn)，但卻保有親密關(guān)系的狀況，也就是我們所說(shuō)的“異地戀”或“遠(yuǎn)程戀愛(ài)”。隨著網(wǎng)絡(luò)的普及，異地戀遍地開花。因?yàn)楝F(xiàn)代技術(shù)使遠(yuǎn)程感情的維方隨時(shí)保持聯(lián)系。
