信用證英語之關(guān)鍵英語詞匯：other than 信用證的內(nèi)容一般來說較為復(fù)雜，長句子多，涉及到金融、保險、商檢、報運、銀行等多項專業(yè)知識。信用證的審核既需要英語水平，還需要多年積累的經(jīng)驗。單證審核也是一項專門技術(shù)。

請注意信用證中的這么一句話：

We will also accept a transport document issued by a courier or expedited delivery service evidencing that courier charges fire for the account of a party other than the consignee.我方也將接受專遞或快遞機構(gòu)出具的注明由收貨人以外的一方承擔(dān)的運費單據(jù)。對付這種英語句子，仍然要用我們前面提到的做“手術(shù)”的方法，分段治之。這個句子的主干部分無非是We will also accept a transport document，即“銀行將接受運費單據(jù)”，此其一；

后面跟了一句做定語用的issued by… 過去分詞結(jié)構(gòu)，修飾先行詞document，意即由誰來出具單據(jù)，此其二。

第三，evidencing that… 仍然是定語成分，修飾前面的document；document 和evidence 之間，有著邏輯上的主謂關(guān)系，因此只能用現(xiàn)在分詞evidencing。

現(xiàn)在，句子的主干也就清楚了，即銀行將接受注明由xxx 承擔(dān)費用的單據(jù)。最后再來看這個other than 是什么意思，該怎么理解。Other than 意為“除了，不同于，非”，是一個否定成分(except or meaning of not)。

例如：

All parts of the house other than the windows were in good condition.(except that…)除了窗子外，屋子的其他部分都很好。

The truth is quite other than what you think.事實真相同你想的完全不同。

I borrowed some book s other than novels.我借了幾本書，都不是小說。

由于同other than 這個詞連用的詞語很多，如more than，less than，rather than，no other than 等等；其意不盡相同。出現(xiàn)在以上這個句中的other than 之意就不可錯譯。
